[X] Maybe, if so, what kind of contraband? Te Waka Taua's crew will carry taiaha (spears) for ceremonial purposes - under Rehuan law it is illegal to carry weapons of any sort, however Roimata has a special permit allowing his crew to do so.

Launched: 5th December 1791
Commissioned: 5th December 1791
Owner: Tangatarehua Imperial Naval History Museum
Previous ship names and owners: Previously of the Tangatarehua Imperial Navy [which no longer exists], previous names unknown

Width: Each hull is 6m wide, plus a midsection connecting the two 8m wide.
Draught: 6m
Port of Registry: Kaiika
Crew: 10
Do you plan to allow guided tours of the vessel? Yes
Do you plan to host a public event on the vessel? If so, what and when?
Yes - a day or so after it arrives, a Powhiri [Maori welcome ceremony] is planned that may be attended by the public, although a guest of honour (such as a host/harbour official) should attend as part of the traditional symbolism. Once this ceremony is done and the tapu (sacredness/untouchability) of the ship is lifted, it will be open to members of the public to explore - this ship is a museum ship.
OOC-section
Notes: The crew will include three warriors and one female kaikaranga (caller) as part of the ceremony - I'm hoping I won't need to do profiles for each of these characters as this would become very time-consuming.
The ship, although usually a sailing ship, does have a small motor on board (as well as other modern conveniences like GPS) and may be tugged part of the way by Roimata's yacht.Harbour Festival of Broodeheim Docking Application

As for the ceremony, the Powhiri, either we do that on the day of the Festival, first thing in the morning, or on the day before. In any case, you can mention, that the Mayor of Broodeheim, Nela Rood, is in the crowd or whereever you need her for it (please leave RPing her to me, though).
Though, looking at your factbooks, and especially that about the class system, does Tangatarehua practice slavery?

Perfect, I'd say first thing in the morning on the day of the festival works best. Hopefully I'll have a post up tonight (might be tomorrow, little busy at the moment), though I probably won't start with the Powhiri.
And no, Tangatarehua does not practice slavery, this was abolished by the 1979 constitution (Article 3, Section 6).
The Taurekareka are a social class of people who are either freed former slaves or whose ancestors were slaves and they face considerable social stigma as a result. While it is actually illegal now to discriminate against someone from a Taurekareka family, in reality it's a lot easier to pass a law than it is to change a deeply ingrained social attitude.
Not hugely relevant to this RP but it's interesting background trivia...

Though numerous ill-advised adventures and a general desire to get places fast had made Z an expert at the art of running in a long dress, today she wore a more standard pair of jeans and a green t-shirt, along with a worn but reliable pair of khaki hiking boots and a backpack of the same color. Perhaps her dress, which like her came from the Arctic, was too warm for this climate, or perhaps it had finally tripped her up a few times too many.
Z was in particular keeping an eye out for a cruise liner two of her friends were due to arrive on, though for all she knew it might have already docked; she had been preoccupied by the multitude of other ships of varying types throughout the harbor, and had been variously watching and taking pictures of them for the past half hour at least. This fox couldn't stay still forever, though, and soon found herself walking rather precariously along the seawall she'd been leaning on, her arms out for balance. Eventually she started losing her balance, and thankfully was able to avoid an uncontrolled fall and sat upon the wall instead, once again looking outward.
I have a basic start but since she isn't really interacting with anyone it feels sort of like filler, though maybe that's ok since it's just her introductory post. Not sure.

The finished post looks good. Want me to have anyone crash into her or would anyone else volunteer one of his/her characters?
Everyone, next post of mine is in the works, it'll just take a bit. University and RL in general are not too pleasing at the moment.
