A nation known for its militarism and reaction, long adopted from Prussia and, later, Imperial Germany. An archipelago nation that saw and joined conflicts one hundred years ago. A nation known for its hereditary military dictatorship. A nation known for its otherwise carefree, freedom-loving people in a militaristic society.
A nation that lay silent—long forgotten in the annals of history by every nations in the world—ever since the Cold War began. Ever since it began its long sleep.
The eagle slept while her children watched with careful eyes, wary of what may have happened to the rest of the world. Her children, acting as overseas watchers, surveyed for trouble. Her Antarctic and eight lunar colonies, respectively established in 1948 and 1968, too, watched over for any trouble; the Novayan Antarctic Fleet, composed of two fleets, patrolling the Antarctic coastline for any forms of trouble - be it pirates, sea-hunters, or litters.
The isolation of the eagle, sleeping in her peaceful, quiet sleep, had been long and deep, the eagle that slept so long renounced its intentions of being involved in many things every nations, every animals, every people, and every spirits.
An isolation that was kept quiet, and kept long, placing the eagle in a deep coma-like state, a long sleep...
...until a few lights approached. Followed by more lights...
...and finally, the Sun rose in the horizon.
The spirit of Novaya and her people—extinguished, dormant, laying silent, a candle without a light—finally lit.
Office of the Grand Marshal, the Reichstag
Morales, Novayan Commonwealth
It had been a normal day for Borealis Norsoutha, a Grand Marshal of the Commonwealth of Novaya - title for the hereditary military dictator. The 23-year-old Novayan had been made Grand Marshal six years ago, after his daddy resigned to focus more on the Novayan Marine Corps. Also a 3-stars Admiral of the Novayan Commonwealth Navy, Grand Marshal Borealis had been busy in doing paperwork, and that involved documents having three boxes for Yes, No and Abstain, a short description, and the pros and cons for each policy, law and act. Or, in Borealis' case, less paperwork and more like a school exam or pop quiz.
Borealis' office was clean, having a few portraits of the founder of the Novayan Commonwealth, the first Grand Marshal, Emmanuel Norsoutha. There are books stacked nicely on a few bookshelves, and the room contain two to four couches/sofas surrounding a table right in front of the desk. On the right of his desk is a computer, a Windows 10 computer built in Novaya, which shows the Novayan Central News Agency's video regarding the weather and the passing of a new law, moments before Borealis clicked on a video, posted by the Novayan Anime Research Society, which explains much about what Shoujo Kageki Revue Starlight is all about. The title of the vid also had a "(DISCLAIMER: SPOILERS AHOY)."
That is, until a message from the Foreign Affairs Department reached his computer. Grand Marshal Borealis, annoyed by the message, clicked on it and reads it. What he read caused his eyes to be wide, then sent a message to the Novayan Commonwealth Naval Admiralty Staff, Prime Minister, Parliament, and High Command. The message contains this simple words.
From: Grand Marshal Borealis Norsoutha
To: Admiralty, Parliament, Prime Minister, Naval Admiralty, and High Command
Subject/Topic: Code Black

Morales International Airport
For a nation that was isolated from the rest of the world, the Novayan Commonwealth had been able to keep up with the developing nations - the First World and Second World nations. The Morales International Airport, the Novayan Space Agency's Mount Hope Space Center, and the Atlas International Spaceport are such examples of Novaya keeping pace with the developing world.
Six Opel Blitz trucks, carrying members of the Novayan Honor Guard, half of them wearing 19th Prussian infantry uniforms and half of them wearing the service uniforms of the Novayan Armed Forces, stopped near the entrance as they rushed inside the terminal and position themselves near the airport runway, ceremonial weapons and music instruments in hand. A limousine - or rather, a really militarized limousine, an armored one, that is - parks near the entrance, accompanied by sixteen Black Guard personnel, decked in the Prussian hussars' uniforms and riding on horses, as Grand Marshal Borealis exits the limousine heads to the airport apron, and positioned himself between the Novayan Honor Guard and its music band.
