The Pontifex Maximus (official title for the Pope) is a good man.

A long time ago (when the Church was more influential) people who believed in the divinity of Jesus or the supernatural tales, were branded as heretics and burnt alive (unless they submitted to the Church). But we no longer do that any more.

Though Protestantism is hated, as they are an enemy of our Catholic comrades.

Now that the argument has calmed down a bit, I should explain why Ardoki is right: It is not only valid to consider all human life equivalent, it is barbaric to consider it any other way, because once one gets the idea that some lives are worth less than others, it's a very small step to a discriminate murdering spree. There should be no difference between defending the life of a Jew and defending the life of a murderer, because when you defend the life of a murderer, you are defending everybody else's lives as well. When you kill someone, you are deciding that you should choose who lives or dies.

You do know that makes war with Ausitoria inevitable at some point?

Adfyr, a form of Germanic paganism prominent in Brytene. Just under half the population listed themselves as Adfyrian on national census poll last year, making it the largest single religion in Brytene. There's a multitude of other religions though, with Catholicism having somewhat of a foothold in the Susseax Canton whilst most known religions have a presence in the largest Brytisc metropolises.

Nihon was always a bit anti - Catholic, more to be honest anti - Papacy than anti - Roman Catholic itself. Partially because it's history (Nihon was heavily influenced by protestant missionaries, and after coming to power various persecuted protestant groups fled to Nihon, where they advised Shogun Chosokame on reforms. However those days they intermingled with Nihonese.

In 1637 Shogun Chosokame no Sanemoto waged war against Spanish crown, which ended in Nihonese victory and seizure of first oversea possessions of Nihon. Recently, however, certain forms of this sentiment begin to follow as Nihonese church, very fundamentalist in nature, is overwhelmingly refusing to accept liberal policies present in many modern Churches, partially due to tendency of cultural isolationism present in Nihon (foreign media can only enter Nihon if they are not "offending Nihonese values", many Nihonese don't speak English, many places in Nihon such as restaurants etc. are "Nihonese language only" where foreigner can walk only with Nihonese friend, if you want to immigrate to Nihon you will be constantly evaluated for level of assimilation, or be deported) and partially due to very strict doctrine in regards to morality expected from believers.

So yeah, Church of the Greater East is by nature fundamentalist, It does not mean that Church is in any way in politics, and all faiths and creeds are accepted; yet Christian morals heavily influence society, which causes world-view break with more liberal counties.
