'Freedom Century' Declared!
The Emmerians think they still rule the world!
29 November 2014 | By "V" (REN News)

Image
As if their social decline wasn't bad enough, the capitalists STILL BELIEVE that THEY rule the world!

Oured, D.A. — The Emmerians' audacity and stupidity has no end. Despite their extreme poverty and gang violence levels, caused by capitalist exploitation, as well as the erruption of Mt. Allat, the President of the... 'United Republic' Vaziri affirmed that, although the erruption was a tragedy (though their imperialist corporations' exploiting poor Rodarians instead of offering them living wages is not a tragedy, of course) they denied access to Geannan saviours, who were sending military forces to aid the Emmerian people, while their Government relied on PRIVATE donations to help it's own people!

This means that the Emmerian Government cares not for it's people because their rich are not forced as much as they should be to contribute to society, and this is a message for those traitors who want to migrate to some CDI junkyard they call 'country'.

Speaking of the CDI, President Vaziri mentioned in his speech that the twentieth century was the 'Emmerian Century', where, as he mentioned in his own words, "We helped transform a planet covered in tyranny and imperialism into an emerging utopia of liberty, democracy, and prosperity." His words are laughable indeed. This planet was well-balanced before the 'Neoliberal Revolution' from the heartlands of evil, i.e. Alleghania, Belhavia and Emmeria (the ABEvil States), came into effect. Thanks to that, vibrant, functional welfare states like the Eagleland were gutted and now you must contribute to your own education and healthcare financially with state help! This is ridiculous! And if you think this is bad, Belhavians and Emmerians have NO HEALTHCARE AT ALL!

Here in Emmeria, for example, a person died because the hospital (in Chaleur) refused to admit him. Why? He owned $3,500 URD for an operation, but said person was too poor to pay it off, so they threw him out when a gang of Ulthrannians stormed his house, raped his wife, molested their baby, and then burned the house down. The police came, but as ever they are useless scum. The man was collected from a garbage can and was to be hospitalised until this happened. The traitors can say what they like, but Bariya will never fall down to that level.

Let's get back to the speech, my readers. Their president mentioned that "And now we see across the globe, as people take their lives into their own hands to defy those governments that once had the power to challenge us, that our fundamental ideals - those of peace, of personal responsibility, of accountable, free, and representative governance - are not just Emmerian concepts, but universal values. This is why institutions of human repression are now forced to break the bonds that once tied down their people"

Let's break that down, shall we? He mentioned that people take their lives into their own hands? How can that be? Individuals have historically proven incapable of making decisions about their future, and in societies where individualism is prevalent you see signs of social decline, such as wealth inequality, elitist governments, indifferent voters and barbarians. When organised in a society, the collective bargain of the mass becomes a weapon against the hordes of capitalism, individualism and individual (and not collective) well-being. Only when you subdue the "I" to the "We" can you be truly set free.

But that is not enough! Not only do they believe in a corrupted version of freedom, they even blatantly state that "[...]institutions of human repression are now forced to break the bonds that once tied down their people." Mr Vaziri, that was laughable. You state very clearly that you want to subdue the last links of true liberty, even though one day you will see people replaced by robots and erase humankind from the face of the earth with your idiotic capitalist practices. You have also jeopardised 1.5 billion Rodarian souls that are now exposed to pollution and exploitation. Not only that, you think you still have friends to help destroy humanity, as expressed by the Free Collective of Bariya!!!

But their lust will not go unnoticed by our First Citizen, Vyacheslav Grinko, who will make an announcement tomorrow, as we move into December, our sacred month of revolution! While we celebrate our liberty from those capitalist vermin, the working classes will remain poor, destitute, while the rich pay no tax and their governments tax less. Citizen Grinko will deliver a new package, which will completely nationalise our maritime industry and our greedy stock exchange, as a punishment for tax evasion! There are also plans to abolish the Proletariat Police, given their uselessness in our society. These are just the first steps to the plan to complete the liberation of Bariya from the international scum of capitalism and free our society forever! The plan will remain secret, until it is implemented, of course, because our oil and natural resources are enough to make us rich and independent forever!

Now those are real men and real leaders, not that Emmerian who thinks his country represents freedom. Hahahahaha!

President Vaziri makes belated and weak denial of Rodarian Century

November 28, 2014| 14.10 PM PCT | înregistrate| By: Lucian Stoica

Image

President of the United Republic, Alex Vaziri offered a belated, poorly executed and somewhat odd response to the ‘Rodarian Century’ according to Consul Octavian Ceausescu. Speaking to members of the Rodarian Worker’s Union, the Consul stated that the President had obviously spent the past three weeks realising that this is the case and only just managed to offer a denial for the Emmerian people. “His replies was somewhat strange, never before has an Emmerican president used the word God in such a manner, perhaps he is attempting to deny the Rodarian Century by mimicking our God blessed success.” Proconsul Tiberiu Alexandrescu, speaking on Good Morning Rodarion also took to criticising President Vaziri’s speech, “when a nation is in decline, it is imperative that it does so with dignity and calm, I fear that President Vaziri will do the opposite and attempt to maintain Emmeria’s position through whatever means he can find, deeply troubling indeed.”
Consul Ceausescu addressed the RWU today in relation to the Worker’s Charter, the largest piece of legislation related to worker’s rights in Rodarian history. “As we bid farewell to 2014 and herald in 2015, we shall do so with unequalled energy and excitement, the Papal Republic is changing, it is becoming rejuvenated, from top to bottom. The Worker’s Charter will grant the nation’s workforce with the rights and tools to finish the job, to continue building a Rodarion which is prosperous and economically stable, they are the gears that keep this engine moving, and they’re the guides leading us into the Rodarian Century.”

President Vaziri in his speech said, “The 20th century was, in all respects, the Emmerian Century," he said, reiterating the words of Cold War era President Joseph Levine. "We rose from a fledgling second-rate industrial power to the most dominant economy in the world. We helped transform a planet covered in tyranny and imperialism into an emerging utopia of liberty, democracy, and prosperity. We turned from a nation covered under the shadow of global powers into one that came up and challenged the world's giants.”

"And now we see across the globe, as people take their lives into their own hands to defy those governments that once had the power to challenge us, that our fundamental ideals - those of peace, of personal responsibility, of accountable, free, and representative governance - are not just Emmerian concepts, but universal values.”

“This is why institutions of human repression are now forced to break the bonds that once tied down their people. At the dawn of the Emmerian Century, we were the lone voice to utter these words. But today, our friends stand by our side. From the coasts of Belfras, where kingly tradition lives in harmony with benevolent liberalism; to the cities of Belhavia, where liberty and individuality have long reigned supreme; to the beaches of the Eagleland, where closeness to God is essential to personal freedom; to even the shores of Anikatia, where the chains of communism have now given way to universal prosperity, our ideals ring true and universal. The 21st century is no longer just an Emmerian Century, but the century in which the people of the world declared, in one voice, that liberty is not for the select few, but for all of God's people. The 21st century is the Freedom Century. And like the last, the United Republic will lead the world and pave the way for the less fortunate. God bless liberty, God bless Emmeria, and God bless the world."

Speaking on Good Morning Rodarion, Proconsul Alexandrescu did not hold back, “apparently, they brought down tyranny and Imperialism, yet, I would call Tobiya, Yoshiwa and Laesico for example as reason for that argument to be denounced, they did not bring down imperialism, they simply transferred its meaning from territorial expansionism to economic imperialism, as for tyranny yes they led the way in bringing down Marxist tyranny, only for it to be replaced with the tyranny of secularism, individualism gone mad and the destruction of communal spirit.”
Speaking further, Consul Ceausescu said, “The 20th century belonged to the Emmerians, yet the 21st belongs to the Papal Republic, no other nation has come from the depths of backwardness and poverty to the dizzying heights of prosperity and success, we are nation unstoppable, we are nation of industry, resilience and determination, and we are free, for we are surrounded by the rights God ordained as essential, work, faith and security. The 20th century was about capitalism and freedoms, the 21st century will about the reawakening of faith, of peaceful co-existence and good neighbourliness and leading the way, paving the path are Rodarian workers.”

The Worker’s Charter that is being produced by NCP Senators, will improve the rights of workers in mining, construction and chemical production, including vast improvements to health and safety standards, the right to tribunal in the event of unfair dismissal and the introduction of work-place injury compensation mechanisms. Worker’s rights was key electoral promise of the National Catholic Party in this year’s general election.

“The Rodarian worker is the mother and father of the Rodarian Century, for the past thirty years you have spent sweat, blood and tears in the pursuit of our nation’s prosperity, you lifted this nation away from the fields into the industrial heartlands, from the fields to the clouds in great buildings dedicated to finance, you laid the foundations and now you’re the building the roof of our century, this nation belongs to you, you are the vehicle for our nations rise, we are blessed as a people, to have you sowing the seeds for our inevitable rise of the prominent state of the world” Consul Ceausescu continued.

Outspoken Senator, Octavian Candreva also spoke out against President Vaziri’s speech, talking on Rodarion Radio Central, he said, “he can deny it as much as he wants, he can wrap himself with as much delusions and dreams as he wishes, the facts speak truth and he would justice by Emmeria if he accepted the inevitable, without causing a show.”

Cardinal Sectary of State, Remus Draganescu was also asked for his opinion as he visited the Pontifical Academy of International Affairs in Romula today. “I think, as a nation we need to stress our respect for the United Republic, it is a centre of prosperity and personal success, a centre of debate and discussion, yet I too would agree that perhaps President Vaziri was rash in his response, he appeared somewhat ruffled in his speech and physically apprehensive, my point being, is that when a nation declines from a pre-eminent position, it should do so with dignity and self respect, hand the torch over in a way that recognises the order of things, once you attempt to resist the inevitable, problems and major disagreements begin to rise out of the woodwork.”

“Let the Worker’s Charter be the starting pistol for the final race, to secure the Papal Republic as the largest economy in the world, to do so will secure without a doubt, the Rodarian Century and place the Papal Republic firmly in history, in the nation that stared destitution and irrelevance in the eyes and defeated it, let us begin our century as we mean to go, rectifying our faults and flaws and adapting the world, denying our critics the right to say that we are too dogmatic and slaves to orthodoxy” Consul Ceausescu continued.

UFG, Pardes (GBC) — Recently, the U.R. and the Papal Republic had a minor spat over their respective geopolitical influence. Following the re-election of the Theonationalists in Rodarion, Consul Octavian Ceausescu proclaimed the ''Rodarian Century'' to his nationalist support base, further attempting to affirm that the shining light of the century would be upon the Papal Republic.

The statement was criticised by U.R. President Vaziri - who argued that in reality that was not the case. Reinhardt surprised Parliament and other Geannese officials by backing President Vaziri stating; ''It is the time of the Antean Century'' - Antea being the name of the Lake, (Lough Antea) where the UR and UF successfully revolted against the Belfrasian Empire. ''Our ideals of freedom and liberty that sparked revolutions centuries ago - have only continued to grow. Antean ideals are at the forefront of society and geopolitics - it isn't just an Emmerian Century, or a Rodarian Century, it is a century of freedom and liberty.'' Reinhardt stated.

Reinhardt further agreed that more and more are beginning to struggle to ''remove the shackles'' - ''Having an overly massive population doesn't make you great - having the largest military only makes you look out as nothing more than a tyrant, or a bully. If we wanted to flaunt, we've seen a 6% increase in economic growth over the last two years alone, in the past decade that has amounted to almost 17%. Sel, the RTC, Aspis are all growing conglomerates that continue to strive for globalization. We boasts one of the largest navies - none of this makes us number one - or our century. They're numbers, speculations, bias statistics and beliefs - A country is defined by the strength of its people, their will, their work - it is defined by their voices. This is the century of Freedom, this is the Antean Era.'' Reinhardt said.

It's true that Geannese public opinion and even opinions in Parliament have started to wane towards the Papal Republic and the RCO in general. Geanna has moved in the last few years to become much closer to Belfras and the United Republic - both of which have long been considered permanent allies. Remaining largely uninterventionalist, the nation has been relatively generous in offering aid, and investments to other nations in hopes of elevating global economies.

As Saxonople continues to drift from the Papal Republic - some critics estimate it's only a matter of time until Reinhardt feels the pressure of Parliament to distance themselves. ''For all it's worth - the Papal Republic is nothing more than a nationalistic regime - spitting the venom of a snake while proclaiming it to be 'holy''' Political Think-Tank, James Argrow told GBC.

Foreign Minister Alrec Severeoth Nimirae Slams Geannese Government

Image

Count Alrec Severeoth Nimirae, Foreign Minister of the Tarsan Empire, slammed the comments of Geannese Prime Minister Reinhardt. He took a quote from the Holy Bible, the Rodarion holy book, and called Reinhardt a "Wolf in sheep's clothing". Tarsas and Geanna have had several heated exchanges lately as what Emperor Romulus referred to as the "collective Geannese head" continues to "fill with hot air". "It is a mystery to me why a relatively insignificant country expects that they are able to throw out whatever derisive comments about their allies they want and not experience any backlash", the Emperor was reported as saying.

Nimirae, who gave his own speech, has stayed relatively silent despite the Emperor's earlier speech where he attacked the Geannese for misusing the title of "Empire" and propping up a figurehead monarch. Today was what could be considered the first official word on the Tarsan outlook toward the Geannese in recent months. Nimirae started by speaking about what once was. "Geanna was at one point a valued member of the Romula Cooperation Organization but since they created a throne and propped a bunch of commoners upon it, they have proceeded to issue incendiary rhetoric on multiple occasions." Geanna has shown its unwillingness to cooperate with the organization many times. They outright refused to join the United Development Bank, an alternative for the UR dominated Pardes Monetary Fund introduced by the RCO.

"Geanna has issued other false claims in an attempt to overshadow its supposed "allies". In one statement, they claim to have one of the largest navies and boast about economic growth, which was likely only achieved by the extensive trade and services offered by the very people that Geanna repeatedly slights." Geanna enjoys an extensive trade within the RCO and exports oil to the Papal Republic. They have used this trade to grow their economy extensively and adopt failed concepts such as a currency supposedly backed by the production of electricity. "They've only been able to get where they are through RCO assistance, that much is clear. What do they do in return? Constantly attempt to drive a wedge in the organization with their foolish speech."

"They claim that a country is governed by the strength of its people. They claim to support freedom and liberty while running around Albiya and imposing their own ideals on the people there, which is completely against the RCO principles that they claim to support. If a country is governed by the strength of its people, then how can a people led by a pariah monarch be strong? How can a country that sows division and slander wherever it goes claim to have a "strong people" when they act as a snake in the grass wherever they go?" Geanna invaded Albiya earlier this year and removed the government of that nation, imposing their own state while continuing to practice CDI style interventionist policies. The RCO has long stated that it is against such actions.

"The most disturbing action by the Geannese government as of late is the apparent willingness to assist the United Republic even when they clearly didn't need it. Geanna has never shown that willingness towards assisting its own allies. Furthermore, they must be run by people who lack basic map reading skills. The eruption of the volcano in the United Republic occurred many miles inland. The Geannese dispatched three hospital ships, which would have no way of even getting to the disaster or helping anyone. I'm fairly positive that basic map reading skills are required to be known as "educated" but the Geannese education system clearly failed with the current generation of politicians." The Geannese sent three hospital ships to assist the United Republic in its latest disaster. Our political analysts at IBN can't seem to figure out why, as the volcanic eruption occurred far from the sea.

The Foreign Minister concluded the speech with a declaration. "I will be personally taking a trip to Romula in the coming days and personally drafting a proposal for the removal of Geanna from the RCO. We have endured their incendiary rhetoric and hot-headed superiority long enough. They clearly will not be a benefit for the RCO in the future, but rather a leech. Nothing that they offer us is irreplaceable to us. They have been nothing but an annoyance to the group. They cannot simply join an organization, use its services, and not contribute anything in return." The Foreign Minister has not personally visited Romula since the signing of the Los Reyes Treaty, which bears his signature and the seal of Emperor Romulus X. This visit is to "demonstrate his resolve to back up his words" he told us in a later interview before he boarded a diplomatic aircraft to Romula.

Shortly after the speech, the Ministry of Trade announced that it would be formerly revoking the free trade agreement that currently spares Geannese goods from any import fees and tariffs. Minister of Trade Dioceus Herodius Calus issued a statement a short time later to the press. "We have gained authorization by the Emperor and the Senate to impose a ten percent tariff on all goods arriving from Geanna along with a removal of all docking fee discounts on Geannese freighters. Any Geannese vessel that has been in port for one day or less will be required to pay the difference between the old docking fee and the new one." After this announcement, it was reported that Tarsan investors in Geannese markets began to sell off shares and withdraw assets from the country. Several large corporations announced complete withdrawal from Geannese markets. Our financial analyst, Rendal Cera, answered the question as to why. "The RCO is such a tight knit organization that it is easy to predict when one member is treading on thin ice. A reduction in RCO trade will seriously hurt its economy and make it an unattractive market for investors. Companies know this and are likely cutting losses." As more happens, we will keep you updated.

UFG, Pardes (GBC) — Prime Minister Reinhardt officially announced the withdraw of the Federacy from the RCO minutes ago citing the recent bite by the Tarsan Regime. ''The Tarsans have remained arrogant and continued to berate the Federacy and attempt to belittle our nation - it is with my regret that we must withdraw from the RCO - We can not be a member of an organization that immediately belittles or bullies another member due to a difference in beliefs or ideals'' Reinhardt stated.

Sir Richard Denoy who is the Chairman of the Cultural Council followed through and announced his resignation. ''Tarsas and Geanna are two very different cultures - and it pains me this has happened. It is clear that Tarsas refuses to accept cultures that go against the grain - I won't waste my time. I apologise to the many Rodarian colleagues I met during my office, and it's a shame I must go - just know that I have always appreciated working with you.'' he commented.

Parliament further put it to a vote to withdraw giving Reinhardt the power he needed to assess and act on the decision.
"It is a mystery to me why a relatively insignificant country expects that they are able to throw out whatever derisive comments about their allies they want and not experience any backlash",
the Emperor stated. Many critics overlooking the Tarsan Regime's comments followed behind Reinhardt who stated, ''There is a fundamental difference between bullying and trying to put down a nation - and actually being an effective and cooperative member - the Tarsan Regime has demonstrated the former perfectly''

Reinhardt fired back at the Tarsan Emperor following reports by the nation's media, continuing to engage several comments by the regime - ''The only nation paradoxically - that provided us with, and treated us as an equal member of the Romula Cooperation Organization was that of the Papal Republic. I must say, for two nations so diverse and polarized in ideals as the Federacy and the Papal Republic. Both governments have overlooked our spats and opinions, and understood that these are different opinions from two very different cultures. That is actual cooperation - and for that, as much as the PRR may irritate our government - We still respect them. Both Ulthrannia and Estovakiva have also treated us as if we were equals - and I must congratulate all three in doing so.

Furthermore - the Crown has existed in some form since the 16th century and is partly descended from the Belfrasian throne. I'd advise the Tarsan Emperor to learn his history. The United Development Bank furthermore - is voluntary - and we voluntarily decided to not partake in it already being well established with the PMF.''

Tarsan media further outlined
They claim to support freedom and liberty while running around Albiya and imposing their own ideals on the people there, which is completely against the RCO principles that they claim to support. If a country is governed by the strength of its people, then how can a people led by a pariah monarch be strong? How can a country that sows division and slander wherever it goes claim to have a "strong people" when they act as a snake in the grass wherever they go?" Geanna invaded Albiya earlier this year and removed the government of that nation, imposing their own state while continuing to practice CDI style interventionist policies. The RCO has long stated that it is against such actions.

A statement Reinhardt stated was ''laughable'' - Geannese troops have long been in Albiya since the early 70s to try and curb the chaos the CSU had culminated. The country has lacked a central government for over 30 years, and Geannese Peacekeepers remained following a treaty with the numerous warlords in 1993. Geannese presence in that region can be traced back as far as the 17th century if need be - ''I'd hardly consider a valid treaty being violated, and us losing Geannese lives to an unprovoked attack - interventionist'' Reinhardt commented, ''I've never heard more laughable accusations''.

The Federacy was also heavily criticised by the Tarsan Regime for its offered assistance to the United Republic. The United Republic has long been considered a permanent ally of the United Federacy, declaring independence from Belfras at the same time. Since then, the Federacy has continuously tried to maintain strong diplomatic ties that far outscope ties with the RCO.

Reinhardt finally commented, ''I can save you the petrol Emperor - with our withdraw. The friction that has brewed has indeed gone on long enough. We will impose a full embargo on Tarsan products in our markets - including the withdraw of RTC, Sel, and Aspis markets and investments. We will not tolerate the venom of a bully and pirates. You wish to take things personal and starve us - I will not tolerate such'' Reinhardt stated - the MoE stated that the Federacy managed little trade to begin with involving Tarsas and as such business could be found elsewhere. Reinhardt did state as well, that other treaties and trades were now negotiable with other RCO members.

''I will not withdraw Geannese troops from Armavira, nor stop the pipeline there - that decision lies with the Papal Republic - we promised to protect the country and that promise shall not be broken.'' he stated, he further affirmed that he would accept the loss of free trade with RCO states and the result of tariffs on trade - but stated that all deals especially with Rodarion would be on the table for negotiation. The MoE waved off any frail attempts by the Tarsan Regime to damage the economy stating it was more of a fear tactic than anything.

Both Sel and the Royal Trading Company announced that any finalized deals at current would not be affected by Geannese imposed tariffs on the Papal Republic, Estovakiva, or Ulthrannia. Citing an official memo by the RTC, ''With the political fallout occurring aside; The Royal Trading Company will continue to uphold its no tariff import and export policies of Geannese products to the receiving of the Papal Republic of Rodarion, the Imperial Dominion of Estovakiva, and the Gran Ulthrannic Empire.''

UTR Office of Homeland Defense calls on nations to contribute

Sussex, TIPPERCOMMON - The Office of Homeland Defense has issued a statement today that it has issued an open call to the nations of Pardes to contribute aircraft to an event the Office of Transportation is calling the "Grand Sussex Bay Air Show".

The Office of Homeland Defense announced this morning that the Seahawks - the UTR Naval Air Service demonstration team - the Golden Falcons - the UTR Air Service demonstration team - Athartha Airlines, and the Wayford Belmont Company are all contributing aircraft to the show which will take place over Sussex Bay on 20 December. The air show will occur in conjunction with the Liberty Parade in downtown Sussex where two full Marine divisions will commemorate the peace brought on by the Treaty of Ambrosia by marching down Grand Avenue. During the festivities, the battered UTR Joint Forces will undoubtedly want to ensure the people that Tippercommon is still strong. This is probably why they are throwing everything they have at the show, with two full squadrons of F3 Corsairs, a squadron of FGR5 Tridents, two squadrons of F4 Pegasi, and a squadron of AC-17A gunships taking part. The UTR Grand Army is also expected to pitch in, contributing a battalion of attack and utility helicopters in what is expected to be a grandiose affair. The UTR Navy's 5th Fleet, which includes two aircraft carriers, is also conveniently parked in Sussex Bay, with reports that their crews are on indefinite shore leave.

The UTR Reserve Naval Air Guard will also be flying a squadron of F9F Panthers, F4U Corsairs, and F8F Bearcats as part of a "Retro" segment of the air show. The UTR Reserve Guard will contribute UH-1 Huey helicopters, undoubtedly blasting CCR and the Rolling Stones throughout the event.

It has been confirmed that the Golden Eaglehawks from the Republic of Anikatia will be performing, flying the agile Ay-05. In addition, a corporate PAU International Kingfisher will also fly in the air show. The Office of Transportation has announced on its main site that the behemoth of an aircraft will be stopping off at Sussex International Airport before wooing the crowds in Sussex Bay. During this time, it will take on passengers (who may purchase tickets from the Transportation Office) who will take part in the air show and then be taken to Oakford Naval Base (a 13 hour flight) where Nykov will put on a presentation. The flight has been detailed as "one for the centuries" by the Office of Transportation, with luxury accommodation, showers, fine wine, and ballroom dancing coming with the ticket. It is speculated that Sussex's affluent society will make up the bulk of passenger list, with movie star Judeth LeMay and Secretary of State Nina Kennedy confirmed to be partaking.

"The Kingfisher was a monumental undertaking. It is the largest aircraft ever built, it has really opened up the cargo delivery market for aircraft," said Nykov's deputy program manager Avdei Marek. "It is much faster than any cargo ship and can operate at a fraction of the cost of current cargo aircraft. It is a very attractive option for commercial and military operators who desire speed, worldwide range and unmatched capacity. We predict that the Kingfisher can multiply aircraft's 1-percent share in a commercial market now dominated by container ships."

The Strigon Team of the Imperial Dominion of Estovakiva has also been confirmed to be attending, sporting their MyL-24 and MyL-27 air superiority fighters.

Secretary of Homeland Defense Jonathan Vega has praised the event as "something the polarized Pardes needs" and that it is a show of Tippercommon's "neutrality".

The new administration voted in November shortly after the end of the Tippercommon Civil War has been bombarding the people with the phrase "legal neutrality". The Senate Chamber plastered it all over the official version of the Treaty of Ambrosia, and so to has the State Department. Is attempting to bring all of Pardes' nations together for this one show of kinship (and showing off) the best thing for Pardes? On paper, yes. Is it the best thing for Tippercommon? After the embarrassment the Civil War brought, absolutely. Will it work? We'll tell you in twenty days.

Fuck Rodarion and fuck Emmeria
A layman's perspective of the "Freedom Century" vs. the "Rodarian Century."
by Damian Cheema (The Turnip)
30 November 2014 8:45 AM | Sussex, Meritocratic Union of Tippercommon

Image
Mr. Mac Carthaigh is fairly representative of the Gaelic population of southern Sussex.

Oakford Naval Base, TIPPERCOMMON (MP) — The following is the transcript from an interview between Turnip correspondent Matthew Mackey and 55-year old dock worker Rónán Mac Carthaigh.
Mackey: So, Mr. Mac Carthaigh, what is your opinion of Rodarian Consul Ceausescu stating that the 21st century will be the "Rodarian Century."

Mac Carthaigh: Oh fook you, mate. I'll fookin' tell ya what, the 21st century is the century of me fookin' of me downin' a fookin' bottle of Jameson in five and then getting me willy sooked by a broad outside of Dalancies at two in the fookin' mornin'.

Mackey: And what is your opinion on the Emmerian President Vaziri's counter to this argument, stating in fact that the 21st century is the "Freedom Century" from which Emmeria will lead?

Mac Carthaigh: I'll tell ya fookin' what mate, a fookin' man named Vaziri is not a man to be trusted. Sounds like the fookin' towel boy for Lucifer's shitter if you ask me. And this, fookin' Coo-says-co mother fooker? Sounds like a faggot to me.

Mackey: Great. And during President Vaziri's statement, he said that the 20th century was the Emmerian century, citing the opinion that it was the most dominant economy in the world. Do you believe this to be true?

Mac Carthaigh: I'll tell ya what mother fooker. The only fookin' economy that I give a fook about is mine. I pay for me fookin' loft, and I pay to wet me whistle at Dalancies and wet me willy in the whores on McDougal Street. Fook these Emmerian big shots, and fook you too buddy. During the twentief fookin century, I drunk and fooked, me pa drunk and fooked, and me grandpa drunk and fooked.

Mackey: Excellent. And do you think that the emergence of Rodarion as an economic superpower will have any grave consequences for the CDI or the rest of Pardes for that matter?

Mac Carthaigh: The only grave consequences anybody is going to be feeling at the ones you will feel if you don't get the fook away from me and me fookin' drink.

Geannese budgeting

UFG, Pardes (GBC) — Political fallout aside in the recent Tarsan-Geannese spat - Saxonople announced it would clear to send 6 K-14 Hailstorms, the newly fielded Geannese Fifth-Generation Combat Aircraft, to the recently announced Tippercommon Airshow in Sussex on December 20th. The K-14 has already seen combat in the Albiyan Conflict, proving to be effective in Geannese support operations in that region.

However, perhaps the most anticipated showing by the Ministry of Defense is the announcement that the joint Belfrasian-Geannese X-15 ''Reaper'' would attend the airshow. The X-15 is one of many joint defense programmes of the Belfrasian and Geannese militaries - having been a concept for a new stealth aircraft since as early as 1998, the programme has remained relatively under-wraps for the past decade. In fact, no-one outside of the respective ministries are entirely sure what the aircraft's full purpose is.

The X-15 was purportedly cleared by the first two trials held in November of 2013, and May of 2014 - what information has been generously provided by the MoD - the Reaper programme is an experimentation of Aspis' Aumberly XF-241 Scramjet. In theory, the X-15 would become the new Fifth-Generation near-hypersonic stealth aircraft. However, it is unclear if the X-15 has officially reached those speeds and thus such assumptions remain as speculations.

King James in Broadsword 40th anniversary event.

King James was key to emphasize cohesion and peace in speech.

Nos Kenwadi, Belfras - The mood was solemn in the capital of Kunarii on a chilling Sunday morning as King James made his first appearance following a near-miraculous recovery from Mountain Syndrome earlier this month. Accompanied by the Princess' Catherine and Elizabeth, he attended ceremonies remembering the 1974 attack on the H.M.S Broadsword off the coast of Kunarii Province in 1974, resulting in the death of 1,245 sailors, the sinking of the battleship, and the beginning of the Kunarii Rebellion.

"Forty years have passed since that fateful day." King James began his speech. He loomed solemn yet heroic in his naval uniform that was heavily decorated with the royal sash and awards he earned during his career. "For those who served aboard her, it is a day that shaped - or ended - their lives. It's a day that lives at the forefront of our memories as those screams and the roar of fire filled the air. Today, the Broadsword rests at the bottom of the Valearon Bay, safe from any further harm that may befoul her. Those who served aboard her spoke fondly of the ship, favoring her above others. I, too, speak fondly of my time aboard the Broadsword. It was a fine vessel that never steered us wrong, and during that dark day it gave us more than any ship could give. When she finally capsized and sank beneath the waves, we were left with an emptiness in our hearts where her great mass and 1,245 of our brothers resided before."

King James was serving aboard the Broadsword as a Lieutenant at the time of the attack. The attack, itself a planned assassination of then-Prince James by Kunarii Separatists, began with an artillery salvo from coastal fortifications on the Battleship as it and it's escorts lay in the Valearon Bay. King James's speech was made in front of 1,100 of the original 1,798 survivors of the battleship's attack. The 698 non attending had either died of their wounds, old age, or moved elsewhere in the country or world. former Ensign Edward Mayor commented in Yoshiwa that he wished to attend, calling King James a "Hero, if their ever could be one. What he did during the attack was selfless and courageous."

King James is perhaps best known in the attack for remaining behind after ordering the evacuation to man the number 4 turret on the vessels aft whilst the ship was listing heavily to it's port. He and five volunteers managed to successfully aim and fire a single barrel that destroyed the attacking artillery fortification. The ship, however, capsized as a result of the cannon fire. King James and the four volunteers managed to swim to the surface moments before the vessel fully flooded and sank to the bottom of the bay.

As King James' speech continued he said that " [The world] needs to remember the sacrifices it's soldiers makes on a daily basis. The scars of those who live on are both evident and covert - Hidden beneath our skin. Nobody asked to be attacked that day. Not one of the 1,245 sailors who died asked to die - But they would have gladly made that sacrifice if it did anything to save those of us who remained. That's the bond of brotherhood that exists in the Armed Forces. It is why, as Supreme Commander, I am the proud to call myself Belfrasian. As we move on as a nation, we need to remember ourselves from that day, today, and ever in the past. We have a rich history, we gave birth to the modern world and forged entire nations. As I sat aboard that lifeboat after the attack, shaking with coldness of the Victorian, I had but one thought: That this was not the end. It was merely the beginning."

Following his speech, he was asked by a BNN reporter about the marriage between Prince Gabriel and Princess Anne-Marie, to which he responded: "My grand-son is marrying a beautiful woman. I'm a proud grand-father. I'll be at the wedding and I'll make sure that it gets that Belfrasian touch. The wedding will be as much my grand-sons day as it will be my daughter, Saxon's day as well. As I was a proud father on her wedding, she will be a proud mother."

When asked by the reporter on his thoughts about Geanna leaving the RCO, King James laughed "Geanna is a country coming into it's own in earnest now. If the RCO can't accept that this nation has it's own views and interests, then my son-in-law made the correct action."

Nathaniel Ridgewood reported on this from Nos Kenwadi with the assistance of his junior correspondence team.

President Theodoropoulos Delivers "Monumental" Speech.
The Presidents aimed to deliver a "heartening speech" before the Eagleland Nation.
30 November 2014 | By Ioannis Vasilikos (@john_vas) (ENT)

Image
President Theodoropoulos has outlined several foreign policy developments in his speech.

Constantinople, KCT — In light of recent geopolitical events, President Konstantinos Theodoropoulos delivered a speech before crowds at Autokratoros Konstantinou Square, in the Imperial District of Constantinople, KCT. In attendance were an estimated 1,500 spectators, the Imperial Family and the heads of the Eagleland National Defence General Staff, as well as the Ecumenic Patriarch of the Eagleland Orthodox Church and delegations from the Belhavian Jewish Community and CDI member states. The speech was delivered from the Emperor Konstantinos I monument, which is the first time since 1974 since speeches were delivered in front of that monument.

My dear people, dear allies and friends of the Orthodox Federation of the Eagleland,

It is a very dire situation, the one we are all living in concurrently. Despite our forefathers' efforts and sacrifices yesterday so that we could enjoy the spoils of economic development and wealth, there are still malicious elements in place to ensure that this country is humiliated and deprived of it's honour and dignity in the international arena. Over the past few months, we have been under attack from various corners. Terrorist attacks still plague the country and deprive of our nation it's much deserved peace and tranquility. Simultaneously, the Ankaran Union, a nation run by corrupt oligarchs who have the capacity to manipulate the true wishes of the Ankaran People for peace and tranquility, is endeavouring to deprive of our nation it's dignity internationally, by attempting a foul takeover of our own lands, both inside the fortress and out.

This is, indeed, a sad moment and time when some oligarchs and personal interests dare offend and insult this great nation, especially when New Pontus alone is richer than any of the cities of the Ankaran Union, and that comes despite an evident lack of natural resources. This comes despite the fact that under a free market this country became happier and more prosperous than anything communism could have ever achieved, be it in the PSU in the best of cases or Bariya in the worst of cases. And in doing so this country has some of the finest means for it to compete globally. We have become famous all over Pardes for our diligence and our wisdom in financial matters.

However, reputation is indeed important globally, and we shall not allow anyone to offend our honour as a country. This nation will defend it's interests at home and abroad, and this includes our national sovereignty. We will never concede any centimetre of our soil to the enemy forces. I will attest that the investment projects abroad and at home we are undertaking, as well as the trade agreements we have in the works are made with the intention of providing this nation with the moral hope that this Government is strong enough not only to preserve our country militarily, but also ensure it's economic survival and prevalence in the global arena, by increasing our nation's strength by all possible ways so as to help not only ourselves, but also others as well. And I will also say, given the honourable President Vaziri's speech recently, that I wholeheartedly agree not only that this century is a century of freedom and liberty, but also that the Eagleland is indeed a nation where God Himself is important to our liberty, and that with His grace we shall protect our land, and preserve our integrity.

LONG LIVE THE NATION!

The speech was revered but also criticised by many sources, some praising it for being a "morale booster", as quoted from the Federal Social Democratic Coalition's President Maria Iakovopoulou, attesting that "Despite our ideological differences we are no different at all in national security issues and I honestly believe that there is no room for bickering when our country is being assaulted by disgusting, undemocratic and utterly unfree and unfair regimes". Critics, however, rejected it for being "a baby cry for help", as quoted by the newly elected head of the unrepresented in the Federal Senate Eagleland Nationalist Coalition, Michail Stavropooulides, who made his first public appearance earlier today. "The President's speech is feeble and does nothing but call our weak western 'protectors' to our aid. It's pathetic, and we should join the RCO instead; the CDI's failure is evident, and is about to collapse."

In other relevant developments, the Eagleland Ministry of Finance has announced that trade agreement deals have been submitted to Anikatia, Valinor and Geanna, with an estimated worth of approximately $200 billion URD. The Eagleland-Geannan trade agreement will authorise greater Geannan access to the Eagleland market and financial services and will eliminate tariffs for Geannan imports completely, allowing Geanna to "recover from the void left by Tarsan investors", as mentioned by a senior source from the Ministry of Finance. Relevant agreements with Valinor and Anikatia will include a free trade agreement and exports of agricultural, industrial, chemical and electronic goods as well as vehicles, in exchange for commodities special and unique to their countries. The Ministry of National Defence are also rumoured to be proposing defence research and development programmes with Anikatia and Gratislavia, but those plans are pending approval.

The Eagleand Air Force General Staff (GEA) have also accepted the invitation for the "Grand Sussex Bay Air Show" in Tippercommon earlier today. President Theodoropoulos is slated to visit, alongside the Eagleland Air Force Aeronautics Team "Icarus IV" and an element of the 907th Special Interdiction Squadron, which includes an E-7 Icarus Multirole Stealth Fighter. "It is an honour and a privilege to be invited into this prestigious airshow", he confirmed in an interview to ENT. "We will send a very limited but nevertheless impressive and easily identifiable group of aerial formations that will leave our sign in this event. We are looking forward to it and we are eager to project our capabilities internationally as well."

Ioannis Vasilikos reported from Constantinople, Konstantineian Capital Territory. Konstantinos Irakeides contributed to the article from Constantinople, KCT.

Foreign Minister Basescu: "this situation is utter madness"

Foreign Minister Basescu attempted to cover the tense situation by laughing it off

November 30, 2014| 16.30 PM PCT | înregistrate| By: Constantin Blaga

Foreign Minister Mircea Basescu struggled to offer a official response to reporters during a press conference this morning, over the departure of Geanna from the Romula Cooperation Organisation and the threat of departure from Sturmia, world markets have taken a heavy knock as Geanna begins cutting itself away from the RCO's economic mechanisms, something which may cost them dearly according to some economists, markets also took the Sturmian threat badly, with $33.4 million worth of RCO owned assets or investment being withdrawn from Sturmia following the threat. There has been no official comment from the RCO itself over the departure of Geanna, with unconfirmed reports that General Secretary Radu Lebotescu may resign. There has also been no official comment from the Papal Republic either, with Foreign Minister Basescu failing to offer a solid position.

In an emegency press conference this morning, Foreign Minister Basescu stated his personal shock at how damaging an electoral slogan had become, "the use of the 'Rodarian Century' has had a greater effect outside Rodarion than it has within our country, absolutely shocking. And the fact that a second member of the RCO is now causing economic issues and serious questions, it's beyond any serious rational debate. The departure of Geanna is deeply regreatful, however on a personal note I believe it was the correct thing to do, continued disagreements would have produced a more tense and unworkable atmosphere for the organisation as a whole."

Geanna announced its intention to withdraw from the RCO yesterday, with GBC stating, "Prime Minister Reinhardt officially announced the withdraw of the Federacy from the RCO minutes ago citing the recent bite by the Tarsan Regime. ''The Tarsans have remained arrogant and continued to berate the Federacy and attempt to belittle our nation - it is with my regret that we must withdraw from the RCO - We can not be a member of an organization that immediately belittles or bullies another member due to a difference in beliefs or ideals'' Reinhardt stated."

Within Rodarian politics itself the response has been divisive, Senator Aurelius Istrati (NCP) said, "I applaud Prime Minister Reinhardt for making the tough decision, but it should have happened a long time ago. I do not think it is dignfying nor acceptable for a government to place the blame for withdrawal from the RCO entirely at the feet of the Tarsans, there's a difference between voicing disagreements or differences of opinion, to overt verbal assaults upon the nature of a government in another sovereign state, blame sits before Saxonople also."

Proconsul Alexandrescu said, "I am concerned and deeply disappointed in their decision to leave, all of this could have been averted if the Geannese agree to lessen the criticism of an ally, but they chose not to and instead chose to be confrontational on all matters and sided more with the RCO's competitor organisation than it ever did with the RCO itself, so perhaps it is for the best, I do not know."

The VNEX, Rodarion's principle stock exchange index fell by 38% since yesterday, with an estimated $2.3 billion of shares wiped out as shareholders drop Rodarian businesses operating in Geanna. The Ministry of Finance has warned that the stock markets may experience some wobbles, however they have stated that negotiations over renewing Rodar-Geannese Free-Trade Agreements is expected to begin wednesday. As of midnight tonight, the RCO Investment Council will cease all services to Geanna, denying it access to over $350 billion of funds for infrastructure, industrial, housing and public expansion projects. All Geannese students studying in RCO memberstates, under the 'Education through Friendship' programme will face serious difficulties, due to their now mandatory requirement of learning visas. There are 11,583 Geannese students in Rodarion, all of them by tomorrow will require to obtain a Guest-Resident Education Visa, the process takes three to four weeks, however individuals without visas can only stay in Rodarion for two or three weeks depending on their circumstances, the Ministry of the Interior refused to comment on how it will address the situation.

When asked about the government's plan to deal with the current mood within the RCO, Minister Basescu failed to give a definitive answer, "the Papal Republic will always address its friends and allies' issues, regardless of scale or complexity and the Papal Republic will address the current mood with open eyes and ears wide open."

He was then asked by an Emmerian reporter, "what went wrong?", Foreign Minister Basescu laughed and replied, "I haven't got a clue and if I don't, no one in this government has a clue, its total madness." Despite the Foreign Minister's attempt to defuse the tension, Deputy Minister for the Romula Cooperation Organisation, Vladimir Dragan, was less diplomatically when interviewed on Noon in Rodarion, "I think its outrageous, now even the Sturmians have lost the plot, I personally believe that at some point, every organisation has a period where the deadwood, the wasters and the not-so-loyal ones are cast off or drop off themselves, leaving behind a more lean and cohesive machine, whether Sturmia is deadwood, a waster or not-so-loyal member we shall see."

Asked whether the 'Rodarian Century' was still a viable slogan, Foreign Minister Basescu replied, "of course it is, but I think everyone outside of Rodarion needs to seriously reconsider their rhetoric and positions on this, this is a point of view and I agree with President Otto Wilhelmssen in a sense, that its quiet pathetic, that nations across the globe are responding to a slogan used in a general election to win votes... by declaring their own centuries, it's like a child's game, a child's race or competition, it's like being transported back to the 19th century. It has to stop, end it now before we end up leaving the 19th century and arrive in the twilight zone."

PRRB's Constantin Blaga contributed to this report.

Marcus Fell takes power from Wilhelmssen

Hallsholm — Following President Wilhelmssen's speech today, Grand-Polemarch of the Armed Forces Marcus Fell seized power backed by elements of the security and war forces. His intent was quoted of being "one of honor and loyalty." He and Guard-Polemarch Halvaar Gunnarsen placed President Wilhelmssen in custody on the charge of treason "to both Sturmia and her allies." Fell has also made threats to the Wilhelmssen's supporters who were outside the Riketsdag of having them all arrested under similar charges. When asked why by a foreign reporter, Fell responded,

"Because Sturmia is one of RCO's member states, co-founders and is one of the leaders of the organisation. We are are the guiding light of peace, prosperity and order. If we cannot support our brothers and sisters in the RCO, then we have no right to govern or be labelled a true friend to any nation. If we turn our backs to our allies then who will come to our aid."

Fell also remarked that "without the RCO, the Sturmian nation could not function and might lead to ruin." He vowed never to let that happen.

GDP Up 2.3%, Report Finds

Hudson There was celebration and vigorous debate in the Diet this afternoon in that body's last meeting of the calendar year, as the 2014 Economic Year in Review report showed another year of steady if modest economic growth.

The report, commissioned annually since 1936 by the nonpartisan Center for Economic Research and Cooperation, showed that real wages rose across the board, with the highest increase coming in wage-earners earning below C35,000 per annum. The report also showed decreases in unemployment and persons claiming benefit. The 103 page report attributed this economic growth to what it called an "above average year" for small business, with more than 75,000 new businesses licenses granted in the calendar year. This year marks the third straight year of economic growth under the Labour government, a point which incumbent Premier Mary Cullen devoted much energy to this afternoon ahead of tomorrow's election.

Addressing the Diet this afternoon, Cullen called the year's report "cause for celebration across all party lines," and attributed the success to her party's economic policy of "active capitalism."

"The difference between us and the parties opposite," Cullen told the Diet this afternoon. "Is that we get how the economy works, and they don't, in simplest terms. We understand that an economy is only as good as the worst-off, and that if you raise the bar from the bottom it moves everyone else up with it. And perhaps most of all, we understand that the economy isn't some mythical beast or magical force, but that it can and should be shaped by common-sense measures that we can take in this house and elsewhere."

In rebuttal, Federal Party leader Jordan Howe said that the economy was "growing in spite of itself," and accused the Premier of cherry-picking figures from the report to bolster her party's prospects ahead of tomorrow's election.

"Mister Speaker, I would like to ask the Premier if she has been to Embrea recently, and if she has spoken to some of the constituents of that country about the economy there," Howe said. "Now we know that she was in Embrea but the Right Honourable lady seems to have forgotten a few key figures from her most recent visit. Unemployment in that country is up, industrial productivity is down, in fact a recent report released by CERC revealed that at present rates of decline the Empire will be unable to meet its demand for coal domestically by 2018. We've seen the Labour-Green alliance squeezing out our heavy industry behind the yoke of oppressive and unworkable environmental protection law, as more and more skilled industrial workers hit the benefits line or take underemployment, and the Premier has the audacity to call this growth. Well I would like to see her go back to Embrea on 2nd December and see how well things are growing!"

With tomorrow's election still polling in a three-way dead heat, all analysis suggests that economic concerns will take center stage in the voting public's mind. Analysts today offered multiple takes on what the day's numbers meant for Labour, which has seen its traditionally strong hold in Embrea slip largely on economic performance.

"On the one hand, it is good for [Premier] Cullen to point at this number and say 'look, we've grown the economy for the past three years.' Maybe not spectacularly, but statistically we are better off than we were three years ago," PBC Economic Analyst Ian White said on PBC Morning Breakfast today. "Of course, perception is the greater part of truth where politics are concerned, so it all comes down to whether people in Embrea believe they're doing better. And maybe if this was a nationwide election we'd see these numbers producing a Labour hold and maybe even a modest gain, but as it is I don't think this report is going to help Labour's case. But the only people who know the answer to these questions are the voters, so we'll wait and see."

Battle ignites insight into new age ultra-nationalism
How the Remembrance Day of a battle is beginning to expose the sickening rise of ultranationalism

Re-enactment outside the city of Nerja

Today marks the 143rd anniversary of the Battle of Nerja in the Ulthrannic Empire and all over many celebrate with drink and songs of unity. The City of Nerja invited re-enactors from across the Empire to for its annual re-enactment of the infamous battle that helped along the current fate of the Empire.

On December 2nd, 1871, forces under the command of General Proclus Petilius Asprenus bolstered by ethnically Tarsan supporters from Neo Patria attempted to do the unthinkable; march on Los Reyes. With the Tarsan War of Restoration still raging and the Great Strife tearing the Empire apart, Asprenus organized a force to strike Los Reyes and bring about an end to the nearly eight year long war. The only forces that stood in his way were those of Esteban Nolasco, the Duke of Nerja, which numbered only six thousand compared to that of Asprenus’ fifteen thousand.

With superior knowledge of the terrain and uncanny battlefield tactics, the Duke was able to push back the Tarsans and hold the field. Despite the fact that the Duke of Nerja held the city for his people rather than some higher purpose and the fact that General Asprenus would linger in Western Ulthrannia earning a few victories before being crushed by fresh troops from Senamique. In addition, The Battle of Nerja was not the largest battle of any of the several wars that were fought during the Great Strife period. But it did give the Empire a propaganda victory that would help assure lessening the blow that would come in the wake of the Great Strife. But what is usually remembered by a handful within the Empire and celebrated in Nerja and the surrounding areas, it has become the rallying cry of many ultranationalist groups, including some individuals within the new Hijos del Oro Imperio Party.

Gerardo Palomarez, the leader of the El-Kaisia Unidad Party (the Asturish name of Al-Qaisya) has launched the signs across the capital and in areas where his party hold prominence 'Remember Nerja! We Shall Hold Back the Invaders'. In a statement he made to 'The Word of Al-Qaisya', he stated:

"Nearly 140 years ago, brave Ulthrannians came together to hold off a foreign, barbaric invader from disemboweling the empire in the pursuit of blinded greed. We should remember this battle more often to remind ourselves how close we came to losing so much to the dogs who border us"

Similar but more racially motivated sentiment was shared by Pure Asturia, Pure Ulthrannia organization based out of Sedal, which is one of the most diverse port cities in the Empire. Their leader, Nicolas Juanez Truan y Blanco, stated in open demonstrations that "The Battle of Nerja is testament to the prevailing spirit of the white Ulthrannic man and his ability to throw back those filthy Tarsans who think they can march on our land!"

Though the people who do not share this kind of radical sentiment include those who organize the re-enactment battle in the Province of Nerja and the current Duke of Nerja, Carlos Estevez Nolasco. He heard of the comments made by the PAPU Party and responded to local RTVO correspondants that:

"I would invite Senor Truan to join us down here, perhaps he can share a glass of wine with one of the Tejrannos [Ulthrannic Tehraanians] or share a plate of meat with the Ovdalian families who have lived here for some two hundred of so years. I find it absolutely disgusting that a man who claims to be an Ulthrianist can spout such utter contempt for the other races and use the battle that the ancestors of Nerja fought in for their own political gain, utterly disgusting."

But Isabella Perez Belmonte, the current President of the Grand Assembly, does not view the growing trend of more vocal groups such as PAPU and EKP lightly as she believes it systemic across the entirety of the government and in pockets of society.

"When you have people who are willing to hijack a day of remembrance for people who died in the wars defending our empire; just so they can further your own social and political goals is utterly disgusting. I know damn well it happens in Los Reyes with boneheaded diehards and am not surprised this is occurring across the Empire" She was quoted as saying to Ulthrannia Today.

The Vicar refused to make a comment nor did anyone in his personal staff as they are currently in Livirica finalising the official assimilation to the Empire. But even with him out of the Empire, the Grand Assembly hope to pass a resolution to begin cracking down on the more fanatical ultranationalists and to discuss with local think-tanks on the cause of the rise.

But with the insight that is coming out today comes a matter of coincidence and irony. The Isn Deslen University's Political Sciences Team, led by Professor Johnathon Montgomery, released a co-authored essay entitled "The Rise of a Darker Ulthrannia" in which the team cite that a combination of many differing reasons as to the current rise of ultra-nationalism in the Empire. One passages reads:

Many Ulthrannians look to the more ostentatious and grand past of their Empire's history which is slowly but surely being turned into a new mythology by the far right in the GUE [Grand Ulthrannic Empire]. For a people who have spent the last fifteen hundred years justifying the fattening of their coffers and the destruction of civilizations as all part of the unification of mankind in the name of their God, the modern Empire is something that does not satisfy the more radical of folk. They are looking for a return to the old days, where in their disillusioned and fantastical minds they believe Ulthrannia reigned over all others and judged the fate of nations, richer and stronger than all. All of this, however, forms a rather dangerous geo-political cocktail that could begin showing the cracks in the current order of things where you have an Empire who's government is influenced by cut-throat 'all of nothing' ultranationalists seeking new glory; millions of men and women who are disillusioned with the modern world and hero-worship mixed with misguided understanding of the Imperial past.

But while the concerns and banter rage on in the political circles of the Empire and without also, the people of Nerja still meet up to remember the day when the people who lived in their town fought off invaders 143 years ago today.

"I like the history, but I like hanging out with my friends alot more" Carlos Martinez Paruja, a sixteen year old boy from the local school said to reporters in the area.

"My papa told me about how my great-grandfather was a soldier like this and watching it for awhile, it's scary" Benita Maria Anzura, a ten year old girl said with her father, Juan Dieguez Anzures, close by.

"It is easy to lose sight of the innocence and the spectacle of such an event when it gets mixed in the storm of crap that politics and nationalism is. This is all for the people of Nerja and those who respect our place in the Empire and those who respect the men and women who fell here" Felipe Guzman, who portrays General Asprenus during this year's re-enactment "No-one hear comes to wave banners or shout political signs, we come here as a community and act-out a battle that my grandfather led a company in and many Nerjanos fought in as well. I'm more concerned with how much wine will be supplied than what some idiot in Los Reyes wants to spin with the battle that happened here."

RCO: Grigory Churgin most suitable candidate

Image

December 1, 2014| 12.10 PM PCT | înregistrate| By: Lucian Stoica

Head of the Romula Cooperation Organisation Investment Council (RCOIC), Grigory Churgin has been put forward by the RCO central office as the candidate for the General Secretary seat, following the resignation of Radu Lebotescu over the departure of the Geannese from the organisation. Noted to be a pragmatist and excellent negotiatior, Churgin has led the RCOIC since its creation in 2010, he was tipped to become president of the United Development Bank but Ulthrannian Marco Perez Revilla secured the position. A vote in confidence of his candidature begins at an emergency summit in Cinigrad today, as leaders of all RCO members arrive to offer their nation's vote.

Consul Octavian Ceausescu arrived in Cinigrad this morning, upon his arrival he engaged in private one-to-one talks with Autarch Vladimir Makarov, where they dicussed RCO issues and the withdrawal of Geanna from the RCO. Autarch Makarov made clear his shock and anger at how the situation was handled, with the Consul reportedly responding that he had no idea how the situation had begun or how it spiralled out of control, however both agreed that the RCO must move on and re-value the ties between states, bringing them closer to forge a truly united and cohesive organisation of allies.

At a joint press conference, Consul Ceausescu stated, "myself and Autarch Makarov are in total agreement over the direction and future of the RCO, we must learn from the past few weeks and recognise our mistakes and flaws and work to correct them as we develop the organisation into a more unified and cohesive force. The RCO's potential is unlimited, because the potential of its members is unlimited, by forging closer ties and links between RCO members we can achieve unprecedented things and reach for the endless boundaries, together."

According to the RCO Central Office, Grigory Churgin, born 25 October 1963, in Cinigrad. He has worked as an economist since graduating from university with a PhD in International Economics, he was employed by the RCO as a Regional Administrator of the nascent RCO Investment Initiative, becoming head of the RCO Investment Council in 2010, under his watch, the RCOIC funded over 384 projects in Rodarion, Estovakiva, Ulthrannia, Tarsas and Geanna, worth over UR$85.33 billion, it also offered the Geannese government substantial monetary assistance during its economic crisis. Churgin was also key in the proposals for the United Development Bank, which was formed on the 22 September of this year, as a means to counter-balance the Pardesi Trade Assembly and Pardesi Monetary Fund for the sake of developing nations.

The RCO Central Office has stated that it believes Churgin to be the best replacement of Radu Lebotescu, due to his calm demenour, ability to compromise and negotiate and his personal focus on trade. Grigory Churgin for his part accepted the recommendation and announced his candidacy for the position at a press conference at the United Development Bank HQ in Civitas Tarsae, where he said, "to lead the Romula Cooperation Organisation would be a great honour and privilage, therefore I accept the recommendation and offer myself as a candidate for the position of General Secretary, the heads of state or government of RCO members will be briefed on my background I hope that will be enough to sway their support for my candidacy. I believe in the RCO project deeply and it is vital that we swiftly pick up the pieces and continue on developing the organisation and repairing the organisation, we must do it for each other and the RCO itself."

Consul Ceausescu stated that he will vote for Grigory Churgin, however due to no other candidates coming froward, it is likely that Churgin will secure the position by default. As for Radu Lebotescu, he has reportedly announced his retirement from political and diplomatic life indefinitely, however he is expected to hold a key advisory role at the National Institute for Foreign Policy and may also engage in speaking tours at a later date.

The other RCO leaders are expected to arrive in Cinigrad within the hour and we expect to have the result of the General Secretary vote by tomorrow morning, as the RCO is expected to keep the result secret as the candidate announces and details his plan for the RCO to the member's leaders in more detail.

Vicar arrives in Cinigrad
The advocate against the RCO has found himself representing the Empire at the RCO Summit in Cinigrad.

Vicar Octavio Magallanez de Fe and Luis Sanchez Montellano in Cinigrad

Despite his universally known spite for the RCO and its current structure, it was Vicar De Fey who was chosen to represent the Ulthrannic Empire at the RCO Summit in Cinigrad this week. He arrived there this morning alongside a friend of his, Luis Sanchez Montellano. The Vicar will not be present for long at the Summit and plans to leave early so that he may continue his efforts with the upcoming Livirica unification day.

It is not entirely known why the Emperor would have chosen the Vicar to have led the diplomatic effort in Cinigrad and not the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Some speculate a power struggle between Vicar and Emperor and the Emperor won out, sending the Vicar to prove a point. However, the Vicar's venom against the RCO can still be seen in a separate press conference from that of the Rodarian Consul and Estovakivan Autarch, the Vicar made his statements towards the RCO:

"The current structure of the RCO is nothing but shambles and incompetence amalgamated into a trade organization. If a prestigious and grand organization such as this is to thrive in the future it is must be willing to change and must be led by more unorthodox idealists who have a vision for the future of the RCO, an organization which in the past even I will admit Ulthrannia has benefited from immensely."

The current Ulthrannic-backed candidate is that of Luis Sanchez Montellano, who was born in February 11th, 1959 and earned himself a Double Degree in Economics and Agriculture before finding himself as the Economic Adviser to the Governor of Vina del Mar. He serves currently as the Head of the RCO"s Los Reyes Office. He is known most prominently as the man who proposed 'RCO Corps 2018: Future Warfare Defined', a united military service funded by the RCO, ran by the RCO and doing the bidding of the RCO. The proposal, as outlandish as it was, did get some consideration before being put on the shelf by other members of the JSC.

"I believe absolutely that a man of such decisvieness, such unorthodox thinking, such passion for this alliance will make him a fantastic RCO General Secretary and I can say with certainty that the whole Empire is looking to him to bring about the change necessary for this organization" De Fey and Montellano will be arriving to meet with the other leaders of the RCO soon, some of whom are known to hold rather distasteful opinions about the Vicar.

Montellano, however, goes against the favoured candidate for the seat of General Secretary, Grigory Churgin, who is considered a man of fine caliber and worth the seat. It is known that Consul Ceausescu has openly stated that he will vote for Churgin though this news did come prior to the knowledge of another runner for the candidacy. The vote will be decided by tomorrow but it is doubtful if the rest of the world will know who it is until the end of the Summit.

Foreign Minister To Participate in RCO Elections

Image

The Foreign Minister and his wife, Alecia Vanala Nimirae

Foreign Minister Alrec Severeoth Nimirae has announced that he will be attending the conference to elect a new Secretary General of the Romula Cooperation Organization in Cinigrad. He gave the customary departing speech today in his home town of Vinovia, where he had been on a short week long vacation at his estate after his pivotal role in finally convincing the subversive Geannese to leave the RCO. While Tarsas does not directly posses a position like that of the Ulthrannic Vicar, the Foreign Minister seat is generally the most active and is regarded by many as the most prestigious ministeria to be head of besides of course the High Minister. The Foreign Affairs seat is always generally filled by a close adviser to the Emperor and while Alrec Severeoth Nimirae did not start out as an adviser, he was recently appointed to the Advisory Council in recognition for his service to Tarsas and the RCO.

The Foreign Minister delivered a rousing speech today where he discussed what Tarsas would be looking to achieve, speaking on the Ulthrannic candidate that has already been put forward and who Tarsas would vote for. "Today, I depart for Cinigrad to carry the will of the Emperor to the RCO. We have carefully examined the race and decided we will not be submitting a candidate as we did in the last race. We have carefully reviewed the background of Grigory Churgin and found him to be more than capable of doing the job. I have personally worked with him on the United Development Bank project and look forward to working with him again as he assumes his new duties, should he win of course."

The Ulthrannic candidate, Luis Sanchez Montellano, was carefully reviewed as well by the Advisory Council and the RCO Committee in the Imperial Senate. While his qualifications were impressive, the Foreign Minister declined to even consider voting for him. "How is it that Ulthrannia can give public media time to several prominent anti Tarsan figures and send an individual who is known to be a hardline nationalist to Cinigrad and allow him to put forth a candidate? He can't hope for us to actually vote for him, especially seeing he's a close friend of the Ulthrannic Vicar, who continually spouts incendiary rhetoric almost as much as the Geannese did. Montellano is a fine man and I have worked with him on many occasions but with the support of the Vicar behind him, Tarsas simply cannot in good faith vote for him." Luis Sanchez Montellano is head of the Los Reyes office of the RCO. He has worked with the RCO Embassy in Civitas Tarsae on many occasions on dealing with issues across Akkadiya.

Relations with Ulthrannia have cooled slightly since the election of Octavio Magallanez de Fe, or "De Freak" as he is known on the street. He is a well known ultra nationalist and is confirmed to despise Tarsas. When asked on his opinion on the matter, Nimirae had this to say. "The difference between Tarsas and Ulthrannia is that our high leadership is not at odds with our Emperor. We support Emperor Romulus and acknowledge his right to his position. We may not agree with his politics all the time but he is our ruler and we will respect him by abiding by his and our democratically elected Senate's decisions. Ulthrannia only weakens itself by the Ulthrannic emperor allowing such a petty man to weaken the nation by actively disagreeing with his decisions. De Freak should know his place, and it is not and never shall be upon the throne of the Grand Empire." The Foreign Minister then departed aboard an AL-10 supersonic long range aircraft for his flight to Cinigrad. With Tarsan aircraft technology being some of the most advanced in the region, the Al-10 will fly through the afternoon and the night and reach Cinigrad with time to spare before the meeting.

With Ulthrannic nationalism on the rise, the far right Unified Reactionary Movement, or URM, has become more vocal against Ulthrannia. The URM is known to be actively racist and at the height of the cold war between Tarsas and Ulthrannia, they were found to be behind the murders of over five hundred captured Ulthrannic soldiers. All responsible were, of course, punished accordingly but many elements of the URM still hold much sway in right wing movements in the Imperial Senate. Though they cannot actively attack Ulthrannia in any way without the backing of the Onyx Throne, a URM senate majority would not bode well for Ulthrannia. One can only hope that they back down rather than create more and more enemies within the Tarsan government.

UFG, Pardes (GBC) — King Alestei has mostly stayed out of the public light the last few months, with Reinhardt keeping the focus on him. However, outside of attending Parliamentary Sessionals the Geannese Monarch announced a surprise trip to Isn Deslen to formally sign several treaty agreements. The news has been flooded here lately over the final decision for the Federacy to leave the Romula Cooperation Organisation(RCO) after political fallout and explosive rhetoric continued to heat relations between the United Federacy and Tarsas.

While both leaderships could be held at fault, the political fallout which is still looming like an avalanche has only caused the furnaces and gears within Geanna to ignite and steam for closer ties with her allies. The surprise trip by Alestei to meet his father-in-law was a major success, with the two heads exchanging handshakes and greetings. Several meetings were held throughout the day to talk about everything from the upcoming Ulthrannian-Geannese wedding, to state of affairs and life in general.

Little has been heard by the King himself and his views on the current geopolitical climate around the globe - however, GBC was allowed to attend this meeting specifically following the negotiations with the Belfrasian government. GBC's Melanie Leveau was able to ask Alestei personally, his thoughts on the matter.

''I do believe both administrations can be held at fault - Geannese and Tarsan alike. The re-establishment of Theonationalists in Rodarion, and the growing Tarsan rhetoric made the political climate too hostile - so in essence, I believe Reinhardt made the right call in leaving the organisation. I have my faith in him to be a profound leader who can adequately fulfil his duties as Prime Minister.'' Alestei said.

''In all the entire situation could've been handled in a more civilised manner on both sides of the spat. It is indeed, a shame that this is the solution that had to be used - however, the RCO was originally an economic organisation founded on the premise of Cooperation. I do honestly believe the entire organisation as a whole has shifted from that - increased nationalism here in Geanna, Tarsas and the Papal Republic made that climate hostile. Clashes ideologically got in the way, and clouded judgement of all sides as a result. Dangling membership like a bone is indeed no way to prove your a humble and cooperative organisation - that's an attempt of teaching subordination to an otherwise and supposed equal member, however, turning around and repeatedly attacking members as was done on all sides is as well, poor judgement. The Tarsans can have their victory over our withdraw, I won't deprive them of that.'' Alestei further stated.

During the ceremonies prior to the negotiations and treaties, Alestei presented a very special gift to his Father-In-Law. A large golden and ivory replica of the Broadsword to commemorate the anniversary of her sinking. The ship which was delivered in a display case, had engraved in her hull, the name of every sailor aboard the vessel that lost their life. In the centre of her hull beneath the superstructer read a small plaque, ''Sailors forever sail, on the waves to the Horizon - Into the sunset where the wind beckons''.

The gift was graciously accepted by King James who gave Alestei a firm handshake and thanked him, before stating, "A fine gift. The Broadsword was the first of her class and was starting to feel her age when the attack came. Despite almost thirteen years of service, we only remember her something that happened in the space of an hour. Each of the names engraved upon this ship swore an oath to the Crown - An oath that they wilfully followed 'till their death. Had they been asked to live or die that day, I'm steadfast in belief that they would've gladly gave their lives if it meant saving another.'' he went on to say, "On many occasions during that attack I could've been one of these names. I lived on, as did a lot of her crew. Now my son-in-law presents this in memorial to that day. As much a show of the bond between son and father in law as it is between two nations with a shared history."

During the negotiations, much was discussed about where the centre of the treaties should lie, and the place both powers have in the changing geopolitical mix. Following these discussions, several treaties were drafted and then formally signed by both delegations. The treaties formally established an economic cooperation agreement between Belfras and Geanna. With the signing, both nations would eliminate what was left of tariffs on imports and exports - plus, encourage trade with preferential tax discounts for trade agreements occurring between companies of the two nations. The Kingdom of Belfras would also begin to shift towards Geannese oil exporters, and further establish negotiable joint-trade agreements for the future. As well, the two nations formally established the ''Broadsword Economic Organisation'' with another treaty, officially providing an alternative to the RCO. For the time being, the organisation's headquarters would be established in Isn Deslen, with Belfras and the Geannese already selecting their first delegate.

Alestei stated that he was indeed happy with the agreements, and would be travelling to the United Republic to negotiate similar agreements, he also formally invited the Jollan delegations to join the new BEO if they so wished. ''I'm confident we can establish a new economic initiative, one that involves extensive free market policies and a flourish in trade'' Alestei stated.

Geannese markets did take a hit following the departure from the RCO - However, to the nation's surprise the Jollan quickly started to flood the Geannese markets with investments. The resulting flood caused a spur on the market yesterday igniting an inferno of market activity through-out the numerous exchanges as Geannese and Jollan investors alike began to buy and sell into stocks and shares among their respective markets. ''I'm astonished by the sudden surge of economic activity'' Deputy Alice Chamberly of the MoE stated - the same quickly followed with Belfrasian markets, and a sudden peak interest with Geannese investors began to buy into Valinese and Gratislavian markets.

Trade Agreements were also reached with the Jollan government eliminating tariffs and striking similar deals as the Belfrasian-Geannese agreement. While bi-national markets continue to shake some between Rodarion and Geanna, Prime Minister Reinhardt will arrive in Romula tomorrow to re-negotiate trade treaties already established. Other points of discussion may also include the Armaviran Defence Agreement, Prime Minister Reinhardt was quoted as saying, ''We've no intention on withdrawing from the country unless the Papal Republic wants us to - until they decide, we will remain as we have''.

The pipeline for the moment has halted construction, with workers on temporary vacation as it remains unclear of the project's future considering it travels through Armavira. Geannese investors have started to pull-out of Rodarian markets as well, though some have remained strong and failed to waiver to the fallout. There are currently 11,583 Geannese students studying abroad in the Papal Republic, who have also become targets of the fallout - Guest-Resident Education Visas have allegedly become mandatory for these students to register. A move that angered the Ministry of Education, who released the statement, ''Feeling the need to try and strike at any opportunity they can get, the Rodarian Government has resorted to attacking students who have no ties to the political fallout. That's ridiculous, and childish.''; on their official twitter page.

The Ministry of Education stated it would not apply the same measures to Rodarian students studying in Geanna, nor would it take any other similar actions against them. ''That's a low we're not willing to dive to'' Angelina Harris stated, deputy of the MoED. Some political critics have stated that the Papal Republic is only further isolating itself, and that they were disappointed to see the country delve to the same lows the Tarsan regime has.

For the time being, further trade with Rodarion will be decided Wednesday with eyes and ears to Romula to follow up with these negotiations. Reinhardt stated he was confident deals could be reached, but feels he may come up empty handed. ''The fallout is ridiculous'' he commented, ''However, we can weather through this and remain resilient. We adapt and bend to the currents, we always have''

In September 2008, opposition leader Harriet Deacon criticised the Askam government's plans to cut funding for the Davisian Federal Police. The Davisian Socialist Workers' Party teamed with a gaggle of right-wing backbenchers to block the passage of the bill through Parliament. Explaining her party's decision, she said that "Our economy has floundered. Unemployment in rising. The climate is ripe for a crime tsunami, so it is utter madness to slash the law enforcement budget." The cuts were subsequently implemented through the backdoor. The bulk of policing in Davisholm is done by provincial police forces and these too have faced shrinking budgets. Yet crime has continued to decline in almost all categories.

The DSWP came to power in 2011 promising that there would be no spending cuts for the Federal Police - only to renege on the promise and cut the budget (successfully) two years later. Mark Rowlings, a conservative politician, did not let this U-turn go unnoticed and he criticised the proposal by reading out the very same speech Deacon had given to Hugh Askam five years earlier. Globe is not really fond of seeing politicians break their campaign promises. But since it was apparent that the 'crime tsunami' had failed to materialise, cutting the law enforcement budget was preferable to cuts to education and welfare.

Virtually every economic downturn has led to a spike in crime - but not the most recent one, so it would seem. The DSWP and other leftists warned voters that the rise in unemployment (youth being badly affected) and wealth inequality, coupled with government cuts to welfare, health, education and police spending, would lead to a rise in crime. But conservatives also warned voters of a rise in crime. They argued that immigration, the decline of religion and the decline of the traditional family would cause social unrest. Neither the left-wing nor the right-wing scaremongers have been proven right. There must be more powerful factors at play.

Firstly, one of the main reasons for the decline is that technology has made many crimes harder to commit and many criminals easier to catch. DNA fingerprinting is the most influential development in this respect. Car immobilisers have made joyriding all but impossible except for experienced hackers. Trackers are starting to deter the theft of bikes and mobile phones. The number of successful bank robberies has halved since 1994. A second factor is cultural changes. Frank Miller, a professor at the University of Creighton, published a study last year entitled The Born Rich Generation. He described a marked contrast between Davisians who grew up immediately before and after Davisholm's last serious economic crisis in the early 1990s. He argued that the younger "born rich" generation showed more ambition in business, education and art. He also found that they were less prone to binge drinking, using illegal drugs and committing crimes.

Thirdly, many government policies have also had a positive impact. Hugh Askam's decision to permit provinces to experiment with legalising prostitution, and the decision of three provinces to have a go, has been a success. The police never had the resources to clamp down on the massive underground prostitution industry. But having brothels operate legally means they can be regulated to eliminate the problems they cause (low-pay exploitation of women and risk of STD infections), confined to Bohemian city neighbourhoods and taxed to raise money for the government. Other good policies include rehabilitation programs for convicts and neighbourhod watch schemes. Finally, it helped that these the governments were lucky too. Economic growth in the late 1990s and early 2000s also allowed the government to spend more money on law enforcement and raise police salaries. This spending would have continued to have a positive impact even after 2008.

Miller's university is located on the edge of Wendlemoss; back in the 1980s this was one of the most notorious neighbourhoods of Creighton. Numerous poor-quality houses served as dens for organised crime, which ranged from sophisticated drug rings to "bread-knife gangs" of local hooligans. Today, as more students go to the university, houses have been renovated for cheap student accommodation. Brothels still exist, but instead of being seedy hidden establishments, they function as heavily regulated businesses. Bread-knife gangs, on the other hand, have almost completely disappeared. There is now a growing artisic scene; youths can now express their dissatisfaction with life through music instead of vandalism. As students and immigrants have moved in, the delinquents who lived there before have settled down to a more law-abiding life or moved to various other places (66% of Wendlemoss's residents did not live there in 1994). Some may have done both.

Not every run-down neighbourhood can attract students or transform as dramatically as Wendlemoss. But the new life brought to this quarter of Creighton is representative of a broader social change in Davisholm. And for once, this might be a social change that few would argue is a bad thing.

Protests calm after day of violence

Image

Most violence was centred in Konin, where police used tear gas to hold the protesters back from city hall

December 2 2014| 22.30 PM PCT | înregistrate| By: Filipina Bonkowska | @FBonkowskaBBC

Protests in Konin and Librantowa turned violent today, as riot police struggled to keep the masses back around the cities’ city halls. The protests have been continuous following the massacre of eleven Catholic politicians on the 26th November, since them 11 people have been arrested in isolated scuffles, however 159 people have been arrested in Konin alone as the masses attempted to storm the city hall. Several protesters and police officers have been reportedly hospitalised, with no serious injuries, police used tear gas to break up large groups and attempted to push the masses back with a strong presence of riot officers. In Librantowa, the city’s courthouse was set ablaze and protesters took to the roof, waving flags of Rodarion and the ‘Christian State’. Prime Minister Milos Spidla has warned that he will make use of every tool to defeat the aggression on the streets of southern cities.

Violence was first reported at around 3pm in Librantowa, as many as 450 protesters broke through on Zilowposki Street and ransacked a department store, two people were assaulted and hospitalised, scuffles broke out inside the store, with damage reported to the shop costing around $56,000, 19 people were arrested. News of the ransacking and rumours of police brutality exacerbated the situation and the 50,000 strong crowd surged forward towards the city hall. A further 100 riot police were brought in from neighbouring Rodomsko. The crowd succeeded in pushing the police back almost 300 meters, before being stopped at the Saint Wiktor and Piotr intersection.

In Konin, violence erupted at around 5pm, with reports from the Central Investigation Agency that the protest groups are using social media to coordinate movements to flank police and to find other areas to protest without a strong police presence. The Ministry of the Interior so far has not received authorisation to shut down social media in the South, however both President Kirkilas and Prime Minister Spidla have stated that they support the right to use such a method to deny the protesters coordination. However the violence in Konin escalated quickly, when protesters began throwing, bottles, stones, bricks and other debris at riot police, 9 officers were injured.

The protesters in Konin successfully broke through police lines, causing them to retreat, the surge forward by over 100,000 people allows the protesters unrestricted access to the Masurian Square, where they have begun to set up speaking equipment and makeshift barricades, Konin city hall is only 60 meters north of the square and just out of reach for the protesters. Police have reportedly covered all exits from Masurian Square except for the southern exit, which is being used by protesters to come and go.

Mayor of Konin, Krzysztof Bobinska has stated that he has no wish to order the police to storm the square and evict the protesters.

“I respect and honour the people’s right to protest, however I cannot allow them to inflict vandalistic damage upon the city’s centre of governance or any other state institution within the city centre, they can speak and exercise their rights in Masurian Square, however I will repeat, I will not tolerate any vandalism or destructive actions being aimed against state institutions, especially city hall.”

However the Mayor’s comments have been seen as patronising and highly provocative, Wislaw Sokol, leader of the Catholic Central Party said, “can the cabal in Utena not see what their Second Republic has created? It has caused the greatest division within our society since the time we were collectively oppressed by Marxist elites. Konin and Librantowa are just beginning, this is a new movement, a people’s army and the CCP shall guide the people’s army to equality and freedom within Bogoria’s warm gaze.”

There have been sporadic reports of public disturbances, in Pogorzela, Sobotka, Oborniki, Nowy Targ and Lebon, however none of these disturbances evolved into protests. Many in the governing Socialist Way party have made clear their concern at the handling of the situation, Prime Minister Spidla has come under growing criticism for refusing to take effective action on the south’s demands, which according to many commentators are not extensive or major issues. Speaking at the National Assembly today, Prime Minister Spidla made clear his position, “although no self respecting government will ever take arbitrary action against its own citizens, I can only stress this government’s willingness to utilise the tools to ensure security in the streets of the South, I will authorise the use of water cannon and rubber bullets if the situation escalates any further. I urge the protesters in the south to remain calm and peaceful and not let a tiny minority of agitators endanger lives or property.”

BBC reporters in Masurian Square have noted a festival like atmosphere, with signing, chanting and the beating of drums aiding the calm. Riot police can be seen standing shoulder to shoulder, shields up 10 meters away, in between the two sides, debris, small fires from petrol bombs and placards dropped by protesters. A work in progress has emerged already, after six hours of being blocked from moving out from the square, a large stadium and podium is being constructed, some tents have already emerged and a large Bogorian flag has been hoisted up beside the Statue of Lady Masuria. However as one Emmerian reporter noted, “people appear to be calming and resting for tomorrow, I have spoken to several movement leaders and they have stated openly to me that the city hall will be stormed and cleared of ‘capitalist northerners’”, further comments have been made by extremists in the South, who called for the city hall to be burned down as it was a reminder of Pagano-Islamic occupation. What is clear however is that tomorrow may produce further violence between the two sides, further police forces are expected to be deployed to both Konin and Librantowa, other cities have been placed on high alert, due to sporadic disturbances.

STUNNED: Labour Thrashed at Polls, Cullen Likely Out at Premier; Feds Make Strong Gains

Colchester As the last polls closed in Embrea, all indications this evening are that the Labour Party has suffered a major defeat there and will likely lose its control of the government in the Imperial Diet.

The evening began on a sour note for Labour as its Health Minister Ellen Chalmers was unseated in the seat of Tyburn North, losing a close race to Federal Party candidate Trevor Martin 41.9% to 39.4%, with Union candidate Andy Howard finishing third. The upset soon became a rule rather than an exception, as formerly safe Labour seats became Federal gains en route to that party's first plurality since the "Red Wave" of the 1960s brought Labour to prominence. Under current predictions, Labour will retain just nine of its thirty-seven held seats in Embrea, the largest margin of loss in an Embrean election.

Perhaps the one bright spot in Labour's night was the easy re-election of outspoken MD David Stone to his Bonham seat; the 83 year old Father of the House took 76% of his electorate's vote in a lightly-contested election which saw only token opposition from the major parties. Stone, who hosted his election-day gathering in Bonham's historic Cromwell's Pub as per his tradition, made a brief address thanking the people of Bonham for their support before announcing that he would stand down at the next five-year cycle "if I'm still around then."

"You've been good to me, these years, and I've tried to do good by you," Stone told the assembled crowd of about two hundred. "But politics is a young man's game and I think I've done my bit for Bonham, for the workers, for my community and my Crown and all that," he continued. "So if the Lord hasn't taken me by next time around I think I'll take that retirement the Union Party keeps harping on me taking up," he said to a round of applause.

There was considerably less cause for celebration in the Labour headquarters in Hudson this evening, where a somber Premier Mary Cullen acknowledged that "a great setback," had occurred but vowed to "keep fighting for what we [Labour] believe in...in Government or Opposition."

"We acknowledge and respect that the confidence of the Embrean people has been placed elsewhere," Cullen told an assembled crowd of supporters and press. "And we are surely disappointed in this turn of events. But we will not give up our fight nor compromise our principles, we will continue to push for those whom our opposition would disregard and I trust that in time our persistence will pay its dividends."

The mood was diametrically opposite in the Federal Party camp, where party leader and presumptive new Premier Jordan Howe hailed tonight's victory as "stage one of a Federal Renaissance," and pledged that "work starts today" on the Federal agenda.

"The Embrean people have made the right choice," Howe told his crowd of supporters. "To bring power closer to home, prosperity back to High Street, and freedom back to the individual. It begins today...we will not disappoint you."

A spokesman for Howe, whose party is projected to take 37 seats in Embrea for an overall total of 216, said that the Federal leader had spoken to Union Party leader Sir Arthur Cavington via phone earlier in the evening. Cavington's party holds a slight lead in Embrea at 39 seats, but carries second place in the overall Diet with 201 seats. Most coalition scenarios have some variation of a Federal-Union coalition forming the government to open the 2015 legislative year, though Cavington denied this evening that anything had been decided.

"We have many scenarios which we will discuss in the coming days and weeks, within our party and with the others," Cavington told PBC. "When we have something, the media will know."

High Youth Turnout Critical as Overall Turnout Down; National Alliance Gains "Concerning"

Critical to the Federal Party's ascent this election season was a strong focus on youth outreach, reflected in the appointment of 35 year old Howe to the party leadership and strong grassroots campaigning at universities. The effect was perhaps amplified by a turnout described as one of the lowest in two decades, a mere 42.6% of the electorate. Most of those who stayed home were voters between the ages of 40 and 55, as well as 55 and older voters, who traditionally make up the core Labour bloc in Embrea. PBC Political Analyst Andy Housler explained this downturn as indicative of the Embrean discontent with Labour, which has seen its popularity rocked by economic downturns there.

"The people that stayed home probably said to themselves, 'look, Labour doesn't deserve my vote, on the other hand there's nothing there for me in the Union Party or the Federal Party either, so I'm taking the day off,'" Housler explained. "It's equally an indictment of all three parties that the majority feel betrayed or unwanted in their ranks, and something that I expect the parties will work on addressing in the coming months." Housler also expressed concern about the rise of the National Alliance, a self-described "national-socialist" party which took five seats in Embrea this cycle.

"What is concerning about the National Alliance is not just their rhetoric, which as I'm sure you've heard is absolutely filled with the sort of ultra-nationalist bile and hatred you expect to hear out of someplace like Rodarion or Sturmia," Housler explained. "But also the fact that the seats they took were all former Labour seats, and all areas where there was a higher than average youth turnout and a high middle-aged voter turnout. So what this suggests is that the Alliance has been to some extent successful in radicalising the populations of these areas, whether in reaction to the economic conditions or what have you, but it is definitely cause for concern and bears watching closely." No National Alliance MD or spokesperson would comment to PBC.

With elections concluded, the Diet now adjourns for a month of holiday and backroom dealing, as the coalition which will open on the Government bench for 2015 is decided upon. The Emperor today released a short statement praising the Embrean people for their exercise of democracy and wishing good luck to all candidates standing in elections, but did not comment specifically on any results. In keeping with the Crown's tradition of political neutrality, the Emperor has declined to make any speculations or pronouncements on the outcome of the election or what the future of the Government will be.

Thomas Callow dies aged 75
Government faces a difficult by-election in marginal seat

Thomas Callow, Socialist MP for Radcliffe and Chairman of the Communes Ethics Committee, has died at the age of 75 after a sudden deterioration of his heart condition. He had collapsed in the street on Monday morning after suffering a cardiac arrest while walking his dog, and spent the last two days in care at the Margaret Blaine Hospital.

Callow was a former veterinary surgeon who served in the Parliament of Davisland from 1996 to 2007, at which point he was elected to the Federal Parliament. He was best known for his work on the Ethics Committee. He chaired the committee, which he began chairing after the last federal election. He worked to uncover corruption and misbehaviour among federal MPs, including those in his own party. He thus developed a reputation for integrity and fairness. It also earned him enemies in his own party. This, as well as his Orthodox social conservatism, is thought to have held him back from advancing any further. Earlier this year, Callow said that "I would like to have gone higher, but I am perfectly happy with my current job on the Ethics Committee. I came in here vowing to clean up politics and I believe I've make headway."

His party were quick to praise his work. The Chancellor led the tributes, saying that "Thomas Callow was a truly remarkable politician. His work in investigating corruption has helped make Parliament better behaved and more transparent. He will be missed by those who worked with him and those who voted for him." Maria Cauldwell Renzi, MP for neighbouring Dempton, tweeted that "Callow and I did not always see eye-to-eye, but we were united in our quest for a fairer Davisholm." Shadow Chancellor Tom McFadden also gave tribute to the deceased MP, saying that "Parliament needs people like Callow, who showed real courage and integrity in policing MP ethics."

Callow represented Radcliffe, a division in the northern suburbs of Landsburgh. In the last federal election, he retained the seat with a 54.4%-45.6% margin in preferences over the Liberals. The area has become gentrified over the years, turning a former DSWP safe seat into a marginal seat. The Liberals need to secure a swing of 4.4%. The DSWP will face an uphill battle to regain the seat. The Davisian Peoples' Movement have also been performing well in recent by-elections. A victory for them could not be ruled out.

His death leaves the Socialist-Green alliance a majority of just one seat in the House of Communes, which could be wiped out if the Liberals win the by-election. Unless the government can secure support from independents or the Communists. Last Friday, it was reported that Deacon had approached two independent MPs to ask if they could support the government. The by-election must be held by 8 March next year, but it cannot be held alongside the upcoming Landsburgh mayoral election.

RCO: Grigory Churgin elected General Secretary

Image

December 3, 2014| 12.10 PM PCT | înregistrate| By: Lucian Stoica

Grigory Churgin, the head of the RCO Investment Council has been elected General Secretary of the Romula Cooperation Organisation at the Cinigrad Summit, securing votes from Rodarion, Tarsas, Estovakiva and Sturmia, his opponent, Luis Sanchez Montellano secured the vote of Ulthrannia, his homeland. Espheria and Sutadotzu abstained from the vote, granting Churgin 4-1, he was sworn in before the General Council and explained to the leaders of the RCO members his intentions as General Secretary, which includes the implementation of closer economic ties, enhancment of military ties, in a move seen to appease all members, he officially announced the creation of the RCO Central Security Council, which will be headed by Luis Sanchez Montellano.

Member leaders also offered parting speeches, with Consul Ceausescu urging the RCO to embrace rising nationalisms in members to fuel the fire that is the RCO. "We must not fear nationalism, we must not fear the collective will of a nation, as for our organisation we must harness the nationalism out of members, we must use it as the fuel for the fire in our stomachs.

The RCO represents a medium for which we can achieve everything we desire, for all desire prosperity, security and strength through harmony. Imagine the potential if the unprecedented energies of our nations were merged here in the RCO, a ceaseless and unstoppable juggernaught, rolling towards those glorious uplands of harmony, cooperation and prosperity. The Papal Republic cannot stand idle as nations cherished as key allies slowly sleepwalk into the nationalism of the 19th century, where their nation only requires themselves to prosper, this is a globalised world, a world where connections and ties are paramount to survival, such a transition will lead to isolation and the silencing of that nation's voice. Yet as the band of friends that we are, we are heard, I would say our voices are heard above everyone else. Do not succumb to the trap of self centred nationalism, push it outward, merge it with the RCO nationalisms and watch as we match unabated to secure position of dominance, security, harmony and prosperity."

Speaking the congregated leaders, Grigory Churgin made clear his plans for the RCO. "In recent weeks, we have suffered some major blows, a member has left, the system and structure has taken a knock and it would appear that the levels of connectedness and cooperation has been a myth, we appear to be as loosely connected and fractured as the Central Defence Initiative, we owe to our respective peoples to rectify this immediately, we owe it to each other to ensure that what transpired these past weeks, never repeats itself.

"We must learn from our mistakes, we must once again find ourselves in a greater position, based upon the value and respect of each memberstate, their opinions and traditions, we can no longer operate as an organisation that stands above its members, we must return to the status of being an organisation the members, by the members, for the members. We must regain our consciousness regarding the role of the RCO, an effective platform for mutual cooperation, peaceful co-existance. To ensure the success of this, I intend to lead the RCO in a new economic journey, we must expand economic ties to such an extent that all members begin to benefit equally from this organisation's success, we must press ahead with the creation of an energy club, establishing a firm institution for the trading of petrochemicals, we must also faclitiate oil for goods agreements, to expand our economic capabilities.

"Second of all, I will propose formally to you all the Romula Agricultural Cooperative Union, a formal mechanism that aims to offer subsidies to agricultrual enterprises in all RCO memberstates, it will ensure connectivity between farmer's unions to ensure their interests are heared and addressed, not only that but that the RACU will also act a marketplace, where RCO farmers can sell their goods to RCO states on an exclusive basis, I have spoken to the Rodarian representatives and Consul Ceausescu and he has confirmed to me that he will begin the process of creating legislation formally creating the Friendship Workers Programme, should this pass through the Rodarian Senate, it will provide the RCO with contracted labour from the Papal Republic, to all RCO states, the RACU will also have the authority to contract Rodarian workers for farm work in any and all RCO members, we are striving for unity, we are striving for security in connectivity and we shall succeed.

"Thirdly, I will personally lead the formation of the RCO Central Security Council (RCOCSC) which will be headed by Luis Sanchez Montellano. The RCOCSC is in effect, a collective space, where we can coordinate our efforts against terrorism, trans-national crime, including human trafficking, drug smuggling and weapons smuggling, it is also a capacity we can use to improve and coordinate the ties between member states' militaries, an open forum from which joint exercises can be arranged and planned and even a capacity that allows for the establishment of arms fairs, to expand our economic ties further again.

"It will take time and it will require work from every member, yet I am faithful in the execution of this step by step procedure towards creating a stronger, richer, more stable and united Romula Cooperation Organisation, together are we stronger and we are louder, together we can achieve anything we collectively desire, Gods bless the RCO."

Grigory Churgin will begin his role as General Secretary of the RCO in two days time when he flies to Romula to make himself at home within the RCO HQ. Mr. Montellano is expected to follow him a week later, who is expected to be busy over the next few months formulating and constructing the RCO Central Security Council.
