ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE SPANISH SOCIALIST REPUBLIC
Spain is willing to cease the blockade of Gibraltar conditionally. For the end of the blockade Spain requests that NATO recognise us as a proper sovereign state rather than those nationalists in exile in Las Palmas and that they cease their aggression and expansionist attitude, which means to withdraw all munitions targeted at Spain and cease the continued militarisation of our borders and blatant plans to change our regime. Spain needs to recover from its last war and does not wish for another one, we wish to work with any and all the countries of the world for the advancement of peace. However, we will protect our sovereignty and borders which is why we have initiated this blockade. Spain has noted a request to meet with our advisories at the UN General Assembly, and that request is accepted.
by Hypron » Sun Sep 29, 2019 2:21 am
Home Fleet is to escort the British 3rd Division and the 7th Armored Regiment to Gibraltar, then return to Scapa Flow. Spain has agreed to lift the blockade. Do so immediately.
The British Government will agree to the terms of the Socialist Republic of Spain, as to avoid possible escalation to a war with the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and the Warsaw Pact. We cannot speak for the French Government in Paris, however. As to the United Nations General Assembly, the British Government concurs with the statement to meet with advisories.

To those concerned in the Socialist Government,
The United States asks that the Socialist government lift this completely unnecessary blockade of the Gibraltar strait. There is no reason for the Socialist government to do so, and to continue would harm relations between our two powers. If the blockade continues, the United States will have no choice but to begin sanctions on the Socialist Republic and to cease all trade to her. This would cause extremely extensive harm to your nation's economy; still damaged from the results of the Spanish Civil War.
In return, the US may be willing to recognise the sovereignty of the Socialist Republic as an independent nation separate of The Kingdom of Spain (otherwise known as the Nationalist State of Spain) and to ease the militarisation against it; but in return asks that the Socialist Republic cease their own aggressive militarization policies and provocative foreign actions, and also majorly limits military interaction with the Soviet Union and her puppet states as well as ceases any military support given to the USSR or other Communist states that is directed against the non-Communist powers of Europe and Africa.
The United States asks that the Socialist Republic considers what is best for its people.
Sincerely, Supreme Commander Dwight D. Eisenhower.

We in the government of the United States would first like to congratulate those in the Republic of China for the speedy recovery of their nation, and furthermore congratulates the ability for the government to retain such a stable presence in both the nation and on the continent. It would, additionally, like to remind the Chinese government that a large amount of this recovery was partly due to US economic aid.
It is due to this unexpected friendship forged between our two nations that the United States comes once more for another partnership that would prove beneficial to both of our countries. The United States is willing to lease the Republic of China a surplus of American weaponry and equipment to help arm the Chinese military, as well as the sale of several retired naval warships; including the North Carolina Class Battleship USS Washington and the Light Aircraft Carrier USS Cabot. Additionally, the US is willing to send military advisors to help train Chinese military personal to both use modern doctrine as well as to operate the aforementioned weapons. Furthermore, the US is willing to offer greater economic aid to help build up the Chinese industry, as well as to lessen tariffs and trade restrictions on Chinese goods coming into the US.
In return, the US asks that we forge a mutual military defence pact against the Communist powers of Japan and the USSR, as well as to offer support in any policing duties around Asia. Additionally, the US asks that China allows, at least limited, access to Chinese facilities to US military operations so that the US military may offer assistance in any way and that China both reduces trade volume on the USSR and Japan, and also raises tariffs on respective goods coming from either power.

Regarding the trade agreement, we would very much appreciate your generous offer regarding lowered tariffs and greater economic aid. Your conditions, that of a mutual defense pact like NATO, is acceptable to us but we must put a matter to a vote in our parliament.

We will not be providing the workers, one of the conditions for the bases is that you hire local Chinese workers and do not important laborers. We have no interest in the USS Cabot, it will take up too much of our military budget. Additionally what do you mean 'lend' the ships? This is similar to your "Destroyers for bases" proposal with the British. You get a 99 year lease on the bases in exchange for the ships.

Greetings,
As of now, we only seek a peaceful resolution to the Gibraltar Crisis. We ask all countries that are currently aligned with us to stay neutral officially, and don't provoke the West unnecessarily. The General Assembly meeting in New York should resolve this crisis.
And on the topic of Comecon, it is financial aid from the Soviet Union to countries devastated from the Second World War, which would include your nation. In response to the NATO alliances created by the West, Comecon will also precede the creation of our own mutual defense treaty.

This message goes out to all socialist nations affected by the Second World War. Earlier this year, the Soviet Union created the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance to aid those devastated by the German invasions and our subsequent liberations. This will develop and stabilize the damaged economies. All members of the Eastern Bloc and Japan are invited to meet in Warsaw to discuss Comecon and to create a mutual defense treaty.

My Proud People,
For far too long has Egypt been held under the thumb of this empire or that empire. For too long we have been used for the greatness of other nations, while our own people are made to live in poverty and in their shadow. We are a proud people, and we, your sovereign, grow tired of British manipulation. We grow tired of British intervention in our sovereignty. We grow tired of the British threatening us with their military and strangling us through their control over the Suez Canal. And so, we gladly affirm our signature to the Suez Canal Nationalization Act and give it our royal assent. It is time for Egypt to thrive, and it is time for the British to return Egypt's lands and rights to all Egypt. My noble people, I am proud of you and your loyalty and am confident in the future as I am in God. Let us work together. We shall succeed and be happy. Long live the Motherland!

MESSAGE FROM THE SPANISH PRESIDENT TO THE BRITISH PRIME MINISTER
I have ordered that Spanish fleets cease the blockade of Gibraltar itself (although there will still be some patrols in the Strait) and allow British ships through the Strait, as long as they are not behaving in a way that undermines Spanish interests in the area. I am also glad to see that you are willing to see us in New York to discuss the tensions. I would also like to discuss there potential British recognition of the socialist regime in Madrid rather than the nationalists in Las Palmas as the true Spanish Government.
MESSAGE FROM THE SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF SPAIN TO THE UNITED STATES EUROPEAN COMMAND
We will end the blockade if you end the militarisation of our borders and end the targeting of munitions towards us. We will cease our aggresive actions in return and have stated such previously. However, we will not isolate ourselves by ending support to our major allies in Moscow and other Socialist states. Such a course of action would leave us out in the cold with no major allies that are geographically close to us.
MESSAGE FROM THE SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF SPAIN TO THE UNION OF SOVIET SOCIALIST REPUBLICS
Since the blockade was initiated, we have been open to compromise witn the west and we do not seek to provoke them any further. We will also attend the meeting in Warsaw to discuss Comecon and a mutual defense treaty.
CLASSIFIED MESSAGE FROM THE KINGDOM OF SPAIN TO THE UNITED STATES EUROPEAN COMMAND
We are willing to accept such funds and armaments with gratitude. We would also suggest funding domestic resistance groups that operate inside Iberian Spain itself.

Asardia wrote:Vyacheslav Molotov, the Foreign Minister of the Soviet Union and First Deputy Premier shook his head in frustration. The west clearly was willing to go to war against Spain on Gibraltar, and the presence of Soviet troops in Europe didn't seem to deter them at all. Stalin had explicitly informed him that news of the atomic bomb test last week was to remain a secret, which is why he didn't allude to it in the Communist Party's official statement on the issue. Either way, the Soviet Union had the advantage here. The Red Army is still the largest in the world, and the West knew of how well the army did against the Blitzkrieg that dominated Europe in the early phases of the war. Vasily Sokolovsky, the Marshall of the USSR who had overseen the capture of Berlin, stood beside the Foreign Minister.
What the hell do we do, Molotov?" Sokolovsky asked angrily. "We're not officially allied with the Spanish, but they are still socialists, and if the British believe they can step over them, what prevents them from doing something to the Eastern Bloc? Yugoslavia? Japan? We'll have to take a stand here!"
"Calm down, Marshall," Molotov replied. "Our Army defeated the Nazis pretty much by ourselves, and we took down the Japanese in Manchuria. The British know what a war with one of the world's most powerful nations would do to them. Besides, they follow America like dogs, anyway."
"I guess that's true, Foreign Minister. Our main priority will be to send the Spanish military aid an invite them to our faction. And while we're on the topics of factions, I heard the General Secretary got a phone call by a member of Africa's socialist fighters."
"The General Secretary will deal with that. In fact, I'm sure he already issued a response."Pravda, Official newspaper of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union
The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics strongly advises against any act of war against the Socialist Republic of Spain. Spain, being a socialist country, is considered an ally of the USSR, and any action taken against them will result in retaliation. The Red Army numbers over a million in our occupied zones in Eastern Europe. We hope peace can be retained through these dangerous times, but we will not allow our fellow communists to fall to western imperialism. We ask that leaders of both the Socialist Republic of Spain, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, agree to meet in the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The Assembly is planning to convene later this month.
Stalin's secretary picked up the phone in response to De Klair's call. Immediately afterwards, it was forwarded to Stalin himself. "Greetings! May I ask what it is you want to discuss today?
Vyacheslav Molotov decided to call Washington D.C to discuss the Spanish and British directly with the President of the United States. America had stayed out of the conflict for now, but it's best to appear diplomatic for now. The UN General Assembly won't occur until a few weeks from now, but they didn't have that kind of time. The Berlin Blockade emboldened the West, and another failure in Spain could be disastrous

The tensions in the Gibraltar are a result of the Spain's socialists' stubborness and unwillingness to compromise. They know that the Soviet Union will stand
by them and this is where their bravery comes from. Yesterday it was the British and tomorrow it will be us. Spain should be officially reprimanded by the international community for such actions.

It had been years and decades since Ibn Saud had singlehandedly build a new and modern nation of his own, the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. With persistent Western aid, the new kingdom is on its way to a streamlined modernization in terms of its military, infrastructure and social conditions. As Ibn Saud had wanted, his awaited project of a long-spanning railway from the Persian Gulf to Riyadh and later to Jeddah is already underway. As he stared from an open window inside the Murabba palace, he was suddenly brought back to reality by his son, Prince Saud.
"Are the proposed economical solutions worthy of success?", asked the king with a knowing interest. The Crown Prince gave a quick nod before going on, "If everything is in its order, by next week we will be able to fully standardize the currency and later receive investments from the West, as we had hoped".Ibn Saud couldn't be more pleased at the report. However, he realized that in order to maintain its credibility, he would need to make sure his country's sole political hegemony and relations with other countries, particularly the West remain regulated and on good terms, something that be hoped could achieve before he dies and would later be continued by his successor.

King Farouk sighed, putting down the briefing papers provided to him by his Prime Minister, Aly Maher Pasha, who was standing before him. The Spanish Crisis, as they were referring to it, would have caused some consternation if there had not been yet another thorn in the side of the Egyptian government. "Prime Minister, it has been three years since my government under the Wafd formally requested that the British remove themselves from Egypt. And they have not done so, is that not correct?" "Your Majesty is, unfortunately, correct in this regard", Pasha replied, his head bowed. "And what will your Government do about it?" In the more than two decades since Farouk I had succeeded his father, he had developed a bit of an attitude where he preferred to be told things plainly, which was a bit of a contrast to his luxurious lifestyle. "Your Majesty, Cabinet has been thinking about this. If the British will not leave, then perhaps Your Majesty's Government will have no choice but to show them the price of refusal to acknowledge our sovereignty. And while your loyal Government would not suggest war at this time, there are other ways to deliver our point. Especially at a time when the British are under attack on multiple fronts. As much of a headache as this Spanish blockade of the Gibraltar Strait is to Egypt, it is also an opportunity..." Aly Pasha paused, waiting for His Majesty to indicate an interest for him to continue, which was promptly given. "Sir, the British maintain their control over the Suez Canal, they refuse to recognize Your Majesty's and Egypt's rightful claim to the Sudan, and they refuse a formal request by Your Majesty's Government to withdraw their military from Egypt. The British will continue to view us as nothing more than an accessory to their Empire. While I and my party have advocated for maintaining ties to Britain in the past, the needs of Egypt come first, and if Britain refuses to, as the Americans say, play ball...then we need to change the game. To that end, Your Majesty, I have an idea, one that has been in the works for some time..."

"Order, order!" Hushes fell upon the animated Chamber as the Speaker called for order. "As I understand it, the Prime Minister has a motion that he would like the Chamber to entertain?" Aly Maher Pasha rose to address the Chamber of Deputies. "Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Mr. Speaker, I submit to this House the Suez Canal Nationalization Act of 1949, and I move for its immediate consideration." "Is there a second?" A Social Democratic Deputy arose with an enthusiastic "I second the motion!" The Speaker nodded and continued. "Any objections?" None, which, considering the name of the bill alone was something that was unsurprising, despite the political diversity of the Chamber. "The motion is approved. Carry on, Prime Minister." "Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Mr. Speaker, fellow Deputies, who was it that built the Suez Canal? Egyptians. We built it. And yet, we do not reap the benefits of our sweat and blood. Mr. Speaker, three years ago, the Wafd Government, under instruction from His Majesty the King, asked the British to remove all military forces from our lands. They have continued to equivocate and procrastinate. They have continued to intervene in Egyptian affairs. Mr. Speaker, it is time for Egypt to prosper from the fruit of its labor. This bill will nationalize the Suez Canal and place it in the hands of an Egyptian Suez Canal Authority, while also seizing and freezing the assets of the Suez Canal Company, and will pay stockholders of the Company the price of their shares according to the Paris Stock Exchange's closing price on 20th of September, 1949, when this bill is scheduled to go into effect, should the Chamber and the Senate vote their approval, and should His Majesty the King grant his assent. Mr. Speaker, I yield to the floor." After a number of questions and speeches - many in favor - the bill went to vote. In Egyptian Parliamentary history, rarely had there been a bill that had been approved by the Chamber of Deputies with near unanimity. 250 votes for, 12 against, and 2 abstained. It was brought to the Senate later that same day, and the Senate likewise approved the bill. It would be rushed to Abdeen Palace, where King Farouk I would publicly give his assent, and release the following statement:(Image)

Subject: Economic and Material Support for the State of Israel

To the Secretary of the United States of America,
Our Prime Minister has requested of me to send you a message in the hopes of economic support for the fledgling State of Israel, of which we've been through hardships such as a war for our very survival from the Arab forces that attempted to expel us once more from the land we claim as our home. As one of the Middle East's only true Democratic nations and a force capable of Westernization, we are looking for support from the Western World to support our efforts at reconstruction and economic stability.
First, we require direct economic aid to pay off debts to foreign nations and to begin stockpiling foreign currencies in the hopes of maintaining a stable economy and bringing prosperity to our lands. Alongside American investments to stimulate the Israeli economy and ensure a well-trained force of skilled workers and businesses. As well as a push in the United Nations for the humanitarian relief and support for our people, of which we know you are a powerful force within the international political entity, so your political support would be greatful. Second, we look for material aid in the form of tanks, guns and general support equipment like radios and medicines for our soldiers. Although our forces have plenty of supplies such as your M4 Sherman and the Cromwell, along with whatever leftover British supplies we've managed to maintain, we are in dire need of more modern supplies to defend our democracy and our national sovereignty. Third and finally, we look for closer political cooperation with an embassy to open in Jerusalem, but we do not wish to be part of NATO itself. We are not looking towards an eventual conflict with the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, nor do we wish to actively combat against them in the hopes they will not support Arab regimes and rebels.
We hope that your nation will be willing to support our own,
signed, Minister of Foreign Affairs Moshe Sharett

Dear General Secretary Stalin,
We although understand your efforts against the Jewish Population before the start of the world war against the Nazis was unfavorable, we find that your revolutionary struggle for the working class of the people against the Czars as inspiration for all working class around the world. So extend our hand in friendship towards you, in the hopes that you may support the economic situation in Israel and support the party for the extension of the revolution to the middle east. Though our Prime Minister is a socialist himself, he goes against the orthodoxy of socialist thought with his moderate socialism. Our party stands for the ideals needed for the people of Israel.
We require assistance for the Israeli economy so that the working class may feed their families and be able to restore the infrastructure and housing for all within the lands of Israel. Along with possible Soviet engineer corps to support such an endeavor and the expansion of an embassy for the Soviet Union, this to ensure our cooperation is guaranteed. Although our efforts are not state sponsored it is our only option to ensure our ability to spread the revolution to here.
We await your response,
Meir Ya'ari

11 September 1949:
Following the public announcement by the king of Egypt, Crown Prince Saud was summoned to the War Council chamber. As he sat down in the face of his officers, one of them began to stood and spoke, "Your Highness, around half an hour ago, we've recieved news that the king of Egypt has declared that he will expel the British from the Suez Canal for good".The news that spread like wildfire proved shocking to the Saudi administration as relations with both Britain and Egypt had been cordial.Though he knew it is best for them to stay neutral due to a more inferior military at hand, he knew that one of the outcomes could prove devastating.
Getting impatient and aroused, several of his officers began to openly speak their mind on contrasting views. Some of them advocated for the state to side with Egypt for should they come out successful, the British economical grip could be weakened, and thus consequently leading to the Saudis following suit. However, this would in turn jeopardize their relations with Great Britain, a major ally of the kingdom, which held many importance in geopolitics."I demand immediate silence from all of you officers!", lauded the Crown Prince.
It seems that they had unanimously reached a decision, with permission from his aging father, Crown Prince Saud would attempt to make sure that the kingdom's importance with both Egypt and Great Britain would not be harmed, in conjunction with his eagerly awaited deal with the Americans that would link both the Saudi riyal currency and the American dollar currency together, fostering a rise in its industrialization.Conclusively, if time favors him, he would travel to Cairo to meet with the king himself and send a telegram to the British in London to regulate the matter on behalf of his own kingdom's importance.
