Technical Description of the vessel:Commissioned in 1934, the
Coralier-class heavy cruiser was the first modern ship design to be built and placed into service by the Rynagrian Navy. One of the few non-foreign designs adopted by the navy, it was celebrated by many after its first public voyage in 1935. Designated RNC
Coralier, she became the flagship for the only dedicated Destroyer Hunter fleet in 1936. Despite the lack of conflict in the region, the DH fleet continued to patrol the Rynagrian Seas without trouble until 1939 when a declaration of support for Italy and Germany’s fascist regime was learned from one of the nations in the region. Taking precaution, due to the observed aggressive nature of the European powers, the DH fleet was relegated to Merchant fleet escorts that routinely travelling through potentially hostile waters for their increase in firepower and mobility. This duty would extend to the Merchant Marines after Rynagria officially joined the Second World War in December 1941 and would continue to do so until 1944, with primarily a lackluster record along with its three other sisters.
War coming close to an end, it seemed that the
Coralier-class would not see until combat, with the occasional strafing run by hostile aircraft through the European waters. However, as the situation in Europe became more in favor Allies, the
Coralier-class heavy cruisers were called back to Rynagria. In preparation for reinforcing the desperate situation the Rynagrian military found itself in, RNC
Coralier,
Faranak,
Killeen, and
Brian were outfitted with naval radar to increase their effectiveness against other ships and planes. Afterwards, the four of them were sent to fulfill their purpose and would see some of the fiercest naval battles in the Rynagrian military history. By the end of war, RNC
Coralier had personally destroyed three enemy destroyers, assisted in the sinking of a Arhimenstein
Deutschland-class heavy cruiser, shot down twelve torpedo bombers, and an assortment of other vehicles. Making her the most successful cruiser in the Rynagrian Navy of WWII.
Despite this, the Coralier nearing complete obsoletion, was not upgraded any further unlike her sisters, and was instead relegated to patrolling merchant routes until she was decommissioned. Eventually the RNV
Coralier was decommissioned in 1959, where she was transformed into a museum to commemorate the lives lost in the naval actions from the Second World War. Up to the present day, the museum is still open for those who wants to visit.
