I need to get some more specialists and other members of the convoy. Anyone interested?

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears, and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination.

As you awake, the first thing you compare your surroundings to is a hospital. Except a few things are... different. Instead of mildly brick like the bed you lay upon was very soft, comfortably so. The smell of something unrecognizable permeates the air, though it wasn't sterile like hospitals normally were.
As you lay up, you see various potted plants around the room, something instinctual inside you just knows they aren't endemic to Earth. Other oddly structured beds crowd the back wall of the sterile white room, in a semi-circle pointing towards the doorway; they too were occupied. There was no discernible door knob or opening on the door, although there was a notably raised section in front of it, likely pressure operated like those in supermarkets.
Suddenly it slides open, and in walks a taller being, notably feminine if you hadn't gone fully insane. But she was clad in what looked like a duster and a fully metal helmet, with no discernible eye holes. A design oversight which stumped you on how someone was able to walk through a door, much less one that was pressure operated and likely on a delay.
She spoke in a remarkably distinct voice, as if several people were speaking from the same mouth. "Welcome to the Chrononavigator Corps."
A part of you knows this'll be an adventure.
The Chrononavigator Corps. An Assembly of the most mentally fortified beings from across every universe, dimension and creation. From the Earth you read this from, to the works of fiction written by those that frequent fan-fiction sites. All are known by the Corps, and any can be recruited. The goal of the Corps is to avoid universes merging and in turn becoming veritable black holes, sucking in other universes and dimensions until everything is merged into one chaotic amalgam of creatures, gods, empires, and destruction on an untold and unfathomable scale.
The Corps is hardquartered in the Neitherium, a location outside of every universe, and not entirely bound to any single laws of physics, simply the ones that make most sense to it's denizens. Within it's hierarchy are the Recruits, those who are either fresh to the Corps, or have served a few decades, ranging all the way up tp the Elder Shepards, those who have been members for multiple dozens of millennia.
In between the two to some degree are Shepherds, the essential squad leaders to the Corps' members, having spent so much time between universes they can travel between them on demand, they are the sole being that can do so, and as such they are very experienced in their jobs. You will be a Recruit, starting out your life as a Chrononavigator, under the watchful and helpful tutelage of one Shepherd: Aliana Seyvita.
It's bound to be a journey.
1: OP/Co-OP have final say. No exceptions.
2: OP/Co-OP reserve the right to deny any application for whatever reason.
3: No God-modding or Meta-gaming.
4: No directly controlling another player character unless given permission to do so. As stated above you may freely control any and all NPC’s that are not central to any major plotline.
5: Posts must be a paragraph minimum. One-liners are unacceptable.
6: Try to use correct grammar. No walls of text that are not broken up into paragraphs.
7: Be courteous to one another in the OOC. Feel free to be as much of a dick in the IC as you desire.
8: Be active should you apply. No need to be online 24/7 (as I certainly will not be) but don’t go through the effort of joining and never post anything. If you will be gone for any significant amount of time please leave a message stating that you will be gone. Those who do not risk having their characters killed off.
9: You character cannot be overpowered. You can die and every challenge should be just that, a challenge. Any overpowered characters will bring forth the wrath of the OP in the form of even worse obstacles and outcomes.
10: Have fun.
- Chrono: Shorthand for a Chrononavigator.
- Tether: An object or trinket that is spiritually and dimensionally bound to a Chrono. It can never be lost, destroyed, or misplaced so long as the Chrono is still alive.
- Wean: A wean is a Chrono who has found love in a dimension outside the Neitherium. The name comes from having to wean them off their love, as not only is the Chrono immortal, but also because they cannot visit their beloved without major risk to the seperation of the multiverse.
- Gwevith: Rooted from the Kyrisi word for lost, a Gwiveth is a former Chrono who has since started wandering across the multiverse, no longer bound to the code of conduct that they once followed. Very rarely are they lower than mid level Shepherds, making them hazardous foes should they be crossed.
- As mentioned, the more powerful the character, the harder things on your end get. Unless you want your compatriots to get completely destroyed in a fight, keep the power level close to theirs.
- One character only please.
- It is up to you to keep track of equipment.
- Remove everything in parenthesis.
- Use Metric and Imperial units for measurements.
- A minimum of two paragraphs is required for the biography.
- Code: Select all

I'm not actually sure where it'll fit.
On one hand I have plans to nab a guy from an alternate history earth where the Nazis won, yet on the other hand the team'll be heading to places ripped straight from Warcraft and DnD.
So Fantasy I guess, in the least fitting use of the term.

Gotcha. So the Navigators would be fighting Gweviths and maybe creatures from different dimensions?
