Demeterius wrote:"Lawthorn's careful. He wouldn't have brought you here if you didn't have something." Elizabeth continued to guide Matthew down the hall, "There's something in you. If Lawthorn thinks so, so do I." She sighed, turning to thank Aaron for the help, "He's a good man, it's just... well he's had a hard life, you see. Lost people..." Her voice trailed off, "He has powers though." She shook her head, smiling again. She leaned closer to her smaller group, lowering her voice, "Telepathy. Mind Reading and Control, so if you ever break the rules, be careful what you think about around him." She giggled, "Don't worry much about it. He's cool. This property used to be his before the attacks, part of it was a vacation home that was on the lot for years. The Army built the rest of the school, dorms, the gym, etc." She explained.

"And it's nice here. Last year it was quiet, a bit lonely at times, but we didn't have nearly as many people here. Still, it's nice, in that kind of way. Right me?" Suddenly, a second Elizabeth had appeared on the other side of Matthew. The second Elizabeth smiled proudly, "Oh yes, very right." She waited a moment before she laughed softly, and the version of herself that had been in it's original spot dissipated. "Teleportation and Decoy-Creation. It's great if you ever want out of a test." She said, reaching a set of double doors at the end of the hall. "Here we are."

Inside was a plain white room, large enough for several hospital beds, as well as a counter and cabinets covered in medical equipment. Posters of skeletons and muscle covered the wall, as well as 3D models. Two adults stood in the far side of the room, a young Asian woman in a pristine white lab coat, and a large muscular man in black, crew neck t-shirt, psitol harness and black cargo pants who was seeming to be a bit to close for the woman's liking. As the students entered, the woman looked up relieved, pushing past the man, "Ah, Elizabeth! Good to see you. And you, you must be new." She smiled warmly at the new comers, offering her hand, "Dr. Choi, pleased to meet you."

Meanwhile, out in the lobby, Thomas waited impatiently as the new students bustled around. One, had sat down close to the fireplace, seeming to relax by it's warmth. Grinning cruelly, Thomas starred at the flames until they flared brightly in a sudden flash, hoping to get some kind of reaction from the new student.

Aaron nodded along at Elizabeth's explanation of Dr. Lawthorn. He frowned at the mention of mind control. While he was sure that the man in charge of the school was nice, the idea of someone with mind control always made Aaron nervous. He was always afraid that someone would control him without him knowing, and that made him more nervous than normal.

When a second Elizabeth appeared next to the group, Aaron jumped at least three feet in the air, and while he would never admit it, he let out a small yelp of surprise while he did so. His face flushed red when he realized that it was just Elizabeth's power, and he let out an extremely forced nervous chuckle at her joke.

Upon entering the nurse's office, Aaron's face lit up. His father had been a doctor, so seeing places of medicine always felt familiar to him, like he was visiting his father at work. He noticed the nurse, Dr. Choi, introduced herself. Aaron timidly put his hand forward in response.

"I-I'm Aaron... I wanted t-to see what the nurse's office was like... M-my father was a doctor and... And...And I can heal people..." Aaron said, his voice getting quieter and quieter.

Erik, along with most of his new classmates, followed Elizabeth. But as he walked with the group he couldn't help but think that one of the caterers looked familiar. As he walked he admired the paintings and other stuff that were in the hallway. He then thought to himself," I think i won't mind spending my senior year here." He then walked with his classmates into a white, sterile room. He then saw two people, a man and a woman. He thought they were most likely staff members. This assumption was proven true when the woman walked up and introduced herself. Erik then extended his hand and said," Hello, my name is Erik."

Meanwhile
The three caterers walked into the mess hall and started to unload their goods. As the crates got unloaded one could see that they were filled with pulled pork, brisket, and other BBQ. The tall man with spectecles then said to the two others," Did you get the "special flavoring"." The stocky man nodded and pulled out a bottle with a brownish liquid that looked like vinegar. As the stocky man poured the flavoring all over the food, something suddenly fell out of the tall man's pocket. It was a package of Christmas Crackers. The tall man immediatley rushed towards them and picked them up before anyone could notice them. He then continued to supervise the other two.

Jack woke up with a startle. It was a dream, all a dream. He wasn’t home anymore, haven’t been for over a year so he was safe. Jack yawned as he took in his surroundings. He was on a bus just like that morning but there was clearly one thing missing. Where were all the other students? He could have sworn the bus was loaded with kids earlier so where had everyone went off too? Then it hit him. Perhaps they had already arrived at their destination, and he had slept through all of it. He quickly turned around to look at the back window and sighed as his suspicions proved true. The small fading dot in the distance was definitely the school.

“Thanks for the ride sir, I’ll be getting off now.” He called to the bus driver as he walked to the back of the bus toward the emergency exit.

“Somebodies still on here? Don’t worry, I can drive back.”

“It’s okay sir, that won’t be necessary.” Jackson grinned as he put his hand on the lever and twisted the door open.

“What are you doing!? Stop-!”

With his wooden katana in hand, Jack fell out of the moving bus and out of sight. The bus screeched to a loud halt, with the driver clambering to get out. Where was the boy? His body wasn’t on the ground but didn’t he fall off? These thoughts would have been going through the guy's head if he wasn’t dumbstruck by the sight before him. A miniature tornado that had seemingly come out of nowhere was approaching the school. As it drew closer to its target at record speed it suddenly vanished as fast as it appeared, leaving a lone figure standing before the building. Lowering the sword, which was glowing with a white aura, the boy entered the school, leaving the bystanders staring in awe.

"That would be me." Thomas nodded at the boy, somewhat surprised by the boy's reaction. "You're a little special, aren't you. What's your name, buddy, cause you should...." He's voice trailed off as the sound of a roaring wind outside. He jogged towards the door, steam beginning to rise from his body, "What the f..." He slowed down, starring at the new boy who walked through the front doors like nothing had happened. Outside, there was no storm, but the signs of a short wind storm were evident, leaves and branches scattered on the once pristine courtyard. "Morning buddy." Thomas nodded calmly at the boy, "Thomas Holloway, welcome to Lawthorn's Academy. Who the hell are you and what the fuck was that?"

Meanwhile, in the Nurses office, than man who had been talking to Dr. Choi before the students arrived walked casually across the room. A large assault rifle from a side table, slinging it over his back, "Thanks for your time Dr. Choi." He spoke in a thick southern accent, that was at the same time assertive and professional. He turned to march out of the room, his thick combat boots echoing across the floor, "Ms. Archer." He nodded at Elizabeth, and then at the new students before he walked out of the room. There was a moment of silence before the Doctor spoke again, "Well, it's wonderful to meet you all! Now, Matthew Young, correct? Let me see what I can do for you..." She pulled an iPad from a near by counter, tapping a pass code into it to look at her notes.

"Aaron? You say you can heal people?" She looked up from her device, "That's fascinating! I hope I can rely on your help in the future. Have you attempted anything on our friend Matthew yet?" She asked looking back down at her notes, "Matt... Matt... a here we are!" She announced, smiling. However, almost as quickly as the smile appeared it disappeared, "Oh my." She said quietly, "You do not happen to feel anxious at the moment, do you? Tense? Frustrated? Angry?"

Matthew stared and her and thought "No, not really, just a bit confused..and hungry.." Matthew would suddenly feel a strange feeling, although it was impossible to pinpoint what the feeling was, its nature and what it mean't. After just brief seconds of the feeling, it would slowly stop as Matthew rubbed away sweat which had formed onto his head. Mmm...that was strange... Matthew would think to himself while gripping one of his fingers onto the bottom of his chin. "So, why are you so shocked?"

Aaron nodded excitedly. "Y-yes. I healed my s-sister..." Aaron started, but his excitement quickly died down. "B-but I... Don't know much about my powers... So I didn't want to make Matthew worse..." He explained.

He stared at the student in question. "Do you w-want me to try?" Aaron asked quietly. He was nervous about the whole idea, honestly. He had only figured out that he had powers a week ago, and he blacked out afterwards. He had no idea what he could or could not heal, and that was a dangerous thing to just 'try' on people.

Aaron nodded. In truth, he wanted to be near the nurse in case he just worsened Matthew's condition. "Y-you don't have to do much. I j-just need to t-touch you..." Aaron said, gently putting a hand to Matthew's stomach.

White light gathered around Aaron's hands as he replicated the feeling he had when he'd healed his sister. However, this time was different. Instead of being done in an instant, Aaron got a... Feeling about Matthew's illness.

"I-It's...Weird...I d-don't think that he's sick..." Aaron said, eyes closed in concentration. "I-I-I think... His power is d-doing something..."

Aaron focused on the source of the problem. He felt like he could do something about it, but he wasn't sure if that would get rid of it completely. He did his absolute best, and he knew that he got rid of all the symptoms, if not the cause of the problem itself.

"I-I think I d-did it..." Aaron stammered, exhaustion evident in his voice. "It's w-weird... When I healed M-Maddie... My sister... I could feel e-every broken b-bone... Nothing would change, Matthew knew nothing changed to him, it seemed currently, but what about eating without pain in his stomach. To test if he could eat he would grab a chocolate bar, the last food item he had, and ripped off the wrapper, taking a large-sized bit of the caramel and nought filled candy bar;half of it before his stomach nearly exploded on the inside, OK it was a major exaggeration, but he still felt disgusted, and possibly even pain as he threw the mashed up chocolate into the trash can, nearly knocking it over as he used to keep himself from collapsing onto the ground.

As much as I like the idea of a good scrap, I do believe Thomas did say that both the use of powers and fighting are against the rules." She directed the last part at Thomas, as grin forming on her face as she said it.

"O-Oh God!" Aaron exclaimed, tears forming in his eyes. "I'm so sorry! I thought I fixed the problem!"

I thought... I thought that I was HELPING him... Aaron thought to himself. Can I only fix people temporarily? Is my sister going to get her injuries back?

He shook those thoughts out of his head. No... He's not really sick... It's more like something's... Not processing food right.

Aaron didn't voice these thoughts, since he still felt guilty about not being able to heal Matthew and he didn't want to make things worse by suggesting things that might not be true.

"Someone paid attention." Thomas raised an eyebrow at Alexandra, "Ten points to slytherin. Pat yourself on the back, buddy." He slowly backed up, brushing hair from his face. "By special I mean... slow. Delayed? Whatever you want to call it. You walk in and just stare at the fire bud, that's a little odd. I mean, I like fire more than the average bear, but come on. That's weird." He then turned to look at Jackson the new arrival.

"Well, glad you didn't wast anytime in catching up, Jackson. We were just about to head down, introduce y'all to Dr. Lawthorn himself. We can get going now if you are done. But umm, one more thing. See, we don't usually have hurricane up here, so you mind telling me what the fuck?"

Meanwhile, in the Nurse's Office...

"Aaron, calm down. It's all right..." Nurse Choi said solemnly, hurrying over to where Matt was retching into a trash. "Aaron I don't want you to be discourage, with the right training you'll be very useful, but this is above most trained doctors." He sighed, patting Matthew on the back, "Matthew, if I'm to believe Dr. Lawthorn, and I see no reason not to, you are some sort of Shapeshifter. Take this." She forced a pill down Matthew's throat before he could protest, "It should settle your stomach for now. Should. Dr. Lawthorn will want to have a look at you."

She forced a pill down Matthew's throat before he could protest, "It should settle your stomach for now. Should. Dr. Lawthorn will want to have a look at you."

As the pill was forced into Matthew's mouth, and down his throat he was taken aback, pushing himself away from her as soon as the pill entered his mouth and slide down his throat. But then he realized what she had, he was a shapeshifter. "What.." Matthew's draw dropped and his eyes opened wide, he never expected to have any powers especially something as strange as that, it was hard for him to accept this, but if he was a shapeshifter, he was a shapeshifter Matthew stood there silently before speaking "OK...I'll see him" Matthew walked out the door back to where the others, who didn't follow him, were at. As he reached the others, he saw some new faces and waved his hand before sitting down next to another student who he never met, or saw, Mikeal.

"I-If you say so..." Aaron mumbled. He saw that the pill seemed to work on Matthew, and was happy to hear that the source of the boy's problem was because of his power. He noticed that Matthew had wandered off, and quickly bade farewell to the doctor.

"It was g-good to meet you, Ms. Choi. I-I'm sure I'll be b-back..." Aaron promised, a shy smile starting across his face. He wandered after Matthew back to the main area, and saw the boy Thomas talking to some other students. Still feeling bad about his failure to heal Matthew, Aaron kept a little ways away from everyone, but close enough so he could hear what they were saying.

"Perhaps it is a little weird to someobody such as yourself, but I don't seek for you to understand me, nor what I do. Now, we were going to meet Dr. Lawthorn?" Mikael asked, before turning towards Alexandra, "Greetings, I am Mikael. Mikael Lunden. Pleasure to make your acquaintance." he said.

Another student entered the room, waved his hand. and sat next to him. Mikael sized up the new guy, and attempted a smile. "Greetings! I am Mikael. Mikael Lunden. Pleasure to make your acquaintance." he said, facing the new guy. "And you are?"

Mikael tilted his head, looking at Matthew. "He seems to be a bit in a hurry. I wonder what his problem is."
Mikael asked of Matthew, "I don't mean to intrude, but may I ask why you seek an audience with Mr. Lawthorn? We have only just arrived after all."

Matthew would look back at Mikael and sigh "Its just...I'm confused..I'm supposedly a shapeshifter..but how, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't! I'm so confused on the inside...how could I not know, its unbelievable, and I'm sick, I know it but how? Why?" Matthew would calm down and begin breathing slightly heavier than usual before slowly regaining his composure following one deep breath. "I'm sorry" Matthew said as he let himself fall back into place on the *I assume* bench.

Mikael turned towards Matthew, attempting a calming tone, "Hey, hey. Calm down. I believe we will be going to see Dr. Lawthorn shortly. Everything will be explained shortly." he chuckled, "How long ago do you think I knoew I was photokinetic? Even I don't know the extent of my abilities. You will learn how to use your abilities."

“Oh, you were talking about that. I channeled wind energy into my sword and, you know, cut around a bit until I had built enough pressure to send me on my way.” He said it so simply, as if that was all there was to it. “That's why I'm here, right? These talents of ours, I mean.” For the first time, he took in the building around him. “This place is pretty old, isn't it?”

"It was good to meet you as well Aaron." Dr. Choi smiled at the group that was now heading out of her office, "I surely hope to see you back, though I can't say the same to you Matt, without trying to sound rude. Take care of yourself, and if you ever need help, my door is open." She called out after the group, as they made there way back to the others.

There, Thomas snorted at Mikael's remarks, "Whatever you say, buddy." He shook his head before looking up at the group that had branched off to the Medical ward, "Right, Liza, are we good now?"

"For now." Elizabeth sighed, "Matthew's having some troubles, but he should be fine for the next while." She chewed her lip as she spoke, "Maybe."

As she spoke, Thomas's mind seemed to wander over to the newest arrival, Jackson, "You channeled wind energy into you sword... Okay, yep. That makes just about as much sense as the rest of this." He massaged the bridge of his nose, sighing, "Well, I think we've put this off long enough, let's go meet the man." Thomas waved for the others to follow him down the largest corridor off of the main lobby.

"You're right, this place is pretty old." Elizabeth explained to Jackson to answer his question, "Used to belong to some kind of millionaire during the early 1900s. Dr. Lawthorn was lucky to get it when he did." As the group plodded along, they reached a large set of doors, guarded by a single man. Those who had followed Elizabeth to the Nurse's office would recognize him as the same man who had been in before they arrived. He had a cigarette between his lips, placing his free hand on his hip, just above a massive looking pistol tucked in it's holster. Grenades and a few knives were secured to his belt as well, and tattoos covered his muscular arms. He nodded as the group approached, "Mr. Holloway, Ms. Archer. You're late." He spoke harshly.

"Thanks for the observation LT." Thomas replied, causing the man to take a step forward, "We had a medical emergency, sir. I'm sorry." The man just snorted, putting out his cigarette on a nearby side table, "Uhh, guys, this is Lieutenant Walker, he's in charge of security around here. He's the one person around here with the authority to actually hurt you, so unless you want your parent to find out you..." Thomas paused a cleared his throat, before speaking with air quotes, "Tragically died in a skiing accident, try to stay on his good side, okay."

"You're a fucking comedian, Mr. Holloway." Lt. Walker snorted, before pushing open the large set of doors. Inside was a large Aurditorium, with a man standing at a podium atop a stage on the far end of the room. He smiled warmly, spreading his arms in a welcoming fashion as the new students walked inside, "Ahh! You've made it!" It was Dr. Lawthorn.

Mikael stood up when Thomas spoke, and motioned for Matthew to arise as well.

"I believe we are going to head to Dr. Lawthorn now, Matthew." he said to the other boy.
They walked down the hallway, Mikael seemingly uninterested in the history of the place, until they reached their destination.

Mikael looked up to Lieutenant Walker, looking at him up and down. "He seems to be capable. Glad to see we are in good hands." Mikael thought as LT opened the doors to the auditorium.

Mikael looked over to the man at the podium, introduced as Dr. Lawthon. "Not a very impressive look, but then again, powerful ones don't normally exert their appearance to match their ability. I suppose we'll see how this goes." he thought as he looked towards Dr. Lawthorn.

Can you help me?" before standing there awaiting a response, he was the man, the only man he thought who could help him. Matthew would sit down as he waited.
