Quote of the Week:
I fight for freedom. Mine, and everyone's. I fight for the right to choose our own fate. And if I die, I'll die knowing that I did everything I could to stop you. And I'll die free. - Commander Shepard

The Reapers came. We won- the galaxy won. The Reapers came, and they brought with them systems full of fire and death. In their multitudes they came, and they brushed aside our warriors, our soldiers, our fleets as if we were children. Our worlds burned; Earth, Thessia, Palaven, Sur'Kesh, Rannoch, Khar'shan... they are too many to name, the countless billions dead or consumed by the loathsome intelligence that drove our enemies forwards. But for every world, every innocent butchered, our resolve only hardened. Using hidden plans kept secret by the generations of cycles before us, the powers of the galaxy came together, and we built it; the Crucible. A superweapon so powerful that it could defeat the Reapers, a force none of us could even stand against. As untold millions of soldiers martyred themselves on a hundred worlds to hold back the tide, our brightest minds and most clever engineers finished the device left to us by the vanished past, and our hero, the human Commander Shepard, activated it. Supplied with a means to suspend the Reapers and leave them vulnerable to assault, Shepard disabled our foes, and together every race destroyed the specters of death that had cost us so much. Though their fate is unknown, we honor their memory, and we rebuild. There are no more enemies at our doors. The universe is free of their shadow, for the first time in God only knows how long. The biggest question now is what we as survivors will do with the cosmos which is now ours.

The shield of civilization saved all races from the horror of oblivion, but now that very shield is a hindrance; the one who is first to cast it aside will be the quickest to plant a knife in his neighbor's back. And make no mistake- the knives are coming out across the galaxy. In a shattered society only the desperate and bloodthirsty will thrive. Will you be one more nameless body cast aside by the victors on their way to the top? Or will you rise above all others to determine the course of the future? Only time will tell.

Log:117
Project:Ascendence
System Parameters:Operational
Countdown:29days,2hours,51mintues,37seconds

This is log 117 of Project Ascendence, approximately 1 year ago today. We were visited by a mammalian race of extraterrestrials who regrettable expired by a combination of disease, starvation,a munity, and umm local wildlife. We have put their remains in specialized cryo pods for preservation. Though I doubt they wouldn't mide if I dissected just one of them in the name of science! But the Council disagreed, instead I have to go on the aliens medical charts that the excavation teams unearthed in what I can only be assuming as a med bay. Their bodies will instead be handed over in earliest convenience back to their species for "proper burial".

Though they might be gone their technology remains and oh what marvelous it is. Though first complex,it became easier to understand as time went on. The alien technology seems to be based on some unknown element that can produce these mass effect fields that seem to defy the laws of the universe. We assumed that these aliens were searching for this precious resource and so the Navy was tasked with surveying the entire solar system for deposits. We found small to moderate size pockets on the asteroids but it seems to biggest deposit is here on Delvi itself. Though its in the most ironic and deadliest place,Upian territory. Those backwards brutes are sitting on literally mountains of this element. With the permission of the Council we were able to survey Mountain A-57 but our expedition was cut short when a local Upian Warlord attacked our camp, killing two of my assistants and destroying a good chunk of my Galstic Escort. Further surveying of the region has been terminated until further notice.

Me and my team worked tirelessly to reengineer all the alien tech we could,so that our ships and troops could be equipped in case of more aggressive visitors. Though we haven't seen the rest of the galaxy, I believe that our civilization as reach that to a modern equivalent of the aliens but only once the Talnisian Expeditionary Flotilla is built and man can we really be sure. I Professor Juldama,Admiral Hulsum, and Commander Krel will be leading this marvelous venture into the unknown. I have no doubt that whatever we find on the other side of what the aliens called "The Relay" that it will change the lives of all Jasarians, not only Tals.

This is Professor Juldama signing off.

Grand Palace, Tyxil, Ixilit System, Athena Beta
To recover those we lost

The fleets were set, Liselle had finally tracked down the Gamma Rho Relay again. It had been blasted into the system's Oort Cloud and she had it pulled back into its original orbit around the star. She aligned it with the Syda Cluster smiling as troops loaded into ships. The First assault would take place on Turvarys, a Non-Hostile Terrestrial World in the Aeternus System where the Cluster's relay was located. This assault force was smaller because the planet never had any formal military forces on it. The Light Transport would take one Division of Marines and land on the planet securing its spaceport and therefore its only means of reaching the stars. This first fleet would be escorted by five light cruisers and one heavy cruiser. A second fleet, consisting of one battlecruiser, five light cruisers, and ten destroyers would escort the transport which would carry two infantry divisions and one armored division to the planet Kype in the Chelob System of the Syda Cluster. This planet was larger and considered to be of Garden Status. It was also extremely industrialized and could support a growing economy. What it lacked in population would be filled in with refugees that were still overflowing on Tyxil.

Liselle knew her people would need to secure the Syda Cluster if they were to survive. Being buried beneath so many different relays now, the Ascendancy needed to have some form of external security and the Syda Cluster could provide that security for the people of Tyxil.

Liselle then turned her attention towards other matters. She needed to know more about the area she now controlled. It was distant enough from the Athena Nebula to be considered Athena Beta Cluster. She now needed to discover more of the cluster. Her people were pioneers once, and they love exploration. She commissioned the first exploration to take place. 1 Battlegroup Carrier (2 Fighter Wings), 1 Heavy Cruiser, 1 Bulk Transport (1 Infantry, 1 Gunship), 2 Light Cruisers were ordered to join the First Exploratory Fleet and to set off. The exploration fee was paid to the lead and she watched as the ships engaged their engines to search out nearby systems for useful worlds using the system's mass Relay.

New Citadel, Sanves, Ialessa System, Athena Nebula, the Ialessan Free Territory
To recover those we never had

New Citadel was a memory of old powers forgotten. A glorious monument to the old Republic, it was once a bustling eco-tourism resort. The Reaper Invasion had done little to scar its beauty - it had few tourists even at the best of times, as a high-class destination for some of the Republic's wealthiest celebrities. It was a popular place for social activists to celebrate the greatest parts of the Republic - its (late) appreciation for the richness and diversity of nature, outside the realm of the asari perspective. It was a place where one could embrace eternity, and watch gardens grow, in all their wonder - and die, again and again, with the seasons.

Now, it was a monument to a Republic, and a Council, that had died. Yet, like any metaphors, New Citadel can be stretched. Certainly, there were new asari, and by many people's reckoning, the old Council, but they no longer had the same power. Not over the Free Territory.

This was the rightful heir to the asari heritage, and no longer was it subject to the self-imposed segregation of the races that it had produced so long ago. No, this was a new start, by a new Council, and a new Free Territory.

Treeya was a young matriarch - for that matter, she wasn't a matriarch at all. She had, before the Invasion, been a meek scientist, working with the Systems Alliance as an anthropologist. In the aftermath of the war, she had been swept up as the figurehead of a revolution, of ships from across the galaxy shamed and terrified by the fragmentation of Citadel at its most vulnerable. They feared the repercussions of the destruction of the Krogans, and of the war between the Quarians and the Geths, and of the casting out of the Batarians to fend for themselves.

Most of all, they feared fearing each other.

Treeya was not a politician, nor even a leader. Merely a figurehead. She would do, for a military that had joined the war effort out of necessity. Her defectors were not soldiers of fortune, nor of ideals, but of survival, those who had enlisted with their various forces in the most desperate hours of the war. Many were of homeworlds that no longer existed, defecting from military units and registries that had ceased to exist only days after they were created. They did not want to unite under a commander, but under a common goal - to thrive.

Her blade was diversity, and her shield unity.

Yet, even the most balanced of powerbrokers hold goals. The Ardat-Yashi had, generations ago, become pariahs of their own race. Treeya, like many in Ialessa, sympathised with their plight - reduced to prisoners for the sake of their own genetics. In Ialessa, they foresaw a world where this curse of pure-breeding would no longer maniest, and yet, Treeya could not see reason to abandon them to their past. With the Reaper Invasion, it was feared that - like much of the Republic - the Ardat-Yashi were wiped out, and taken by the Reapers as pawns. But, Treeya hoped some would remain - at least, enough to share their unique culture.

She was not so naive as to believe that they could be reintroduced to asari culture - not all at once, anyway. She could dream, but her advisors could plan. And they had plans for these Ardat-Yashi.

Treeya was well aware that the most stable asari factions had come to the forefront in Tomaros, and Ixilit. Her military would be equal, and perhaps even less prepared, than theirs, and she had no interest in interfering with their plans for the future. At least one, if not both, would making overtures to taking Parnitha System.

She wasn't sure if she could afford to challenge them on Thessia. That being said, she wasn't sure if she could afford not to. Perhaps it would be better to target the more certain gains possible in Orisoni, but even a totally destroyed Thessia held great symbolic value to her people - and, to Citadel.

Quarian Migrant Fleet

Unity, Order, Clan, Family

Keelah Se'lai

QRS Rayya, Kypladon System, Silean Nebula

"All hands, all hands, prepare for Relay exit in three, two, one, exit."

The decision had been made three months ago, and before it could be reached many arguments were had between the Admirals. Where to go, where to live, where would their century-long journey end? There were a number of proposals, Raan mentioned the Rosetta Nebula and the lush garden planet Aeia, but it was rejected, Gerrel, Koris and Xen had come together and picked the new homeworld for the Quarian people, Tali could not blame their reasoning, there had been no contact from the Silean Nebula for almost a year, it was through it one of the main Reaper offensives came. No wonder the Elcor are almost extinct... The Silean Nebula was the home of the Elcor, though the conservative species had not had much interest in expanding and conquering the other lush worlds of the cluster, instead it had been the Asari who did that, over a billion of them inhabiting the cluster by the start of the War. Now, they were dead or fled, contact with Dekuuna had been lost for a long time as well, perhaps there were survivors there, perhaps there were not.

Tali stood in the massive, cavernous bridge of the Rayya, the flagship of the Migrant Fleet alongside Admiral Xen, the cold, egotistical woman was silent as she stood with her hands clasped behind her back. Tali instead leaned toward the massive window as the blur of stars passing them at immense speed slowed and the Rayya left the mass-free corridor of space-time created by the relay, finding itself in Kypladon System. She gazed out across the void of space, the countless shining stars and the relatively large ice giant Katebolo, once home to Helium-3 refining colonies, now home to nothing as the Reapers annihilated the infrastructure on their way toward more important targets. All around the lumbering gargantuan that was the Rayya, dozens of ships were dropping in, then hundreds as the Fleet arrived at it's destination. As the bridge crew reported on the status of the systems to Admiral Zaal'Koris as he sat in his captain's chair overlooking the bridge a voice cut in through the Fleet comm systems.

"This is the QRS Felshia hailing the QRS Rayya, please respond." The Felshia, it was Auntie Raan Tali thought with a small smile behind her visor. Admiral Koris quickly answered. "QRS Felshia, this is the Rayya, what is the current situation Admiral Raan?" Raan's voice was quick to respond. "No changes regarding the security of the Kypladon system, it's clear, and the planets..." Raan took a deep breath and when she spoke again it was with a strange blend of sadness and jubilation. "The planets are fit for habitation, the Reapers have annihilated the infrastructure but the biospheres of Nevos, Cyone and Hyetiana remain intact." Another voice chimed in before Koris could answer, Tali could hear her words both through the comms and from the right where she stood. "Splendid! Let us commence as soon as the transports are through." The deaths of Ancestors only knew how many Asari on these worlds did not seem to bother Admiral Daro'Xen the slightest.

For months the Fleet had been preparing for these days, the factories on the massive Liveships had been churning out colony modules and vast amounts of building materials, polycrete, steel, glass, ceramics, tools and machinery, stored in the great cavernous holds of the Migrant Fleet's Bulk Transports. The stagnation of the Quarian species was at an end, they had a new future to look forward to, perhaps they were the true victors of this War? Only 238 889 Quarians had been killed during the Reaper Invasion as they only fought the final phases of it, the Migrant Fleet having hidden in the dark voids of interstellar space for most of the conflict. And so it was up to 17 213 427 Quarians that remained to rebuild a new home for their species, where they would not stagnate, where they would not only die a slow death on their ships and it was in the Silean Nebula that home would be located. This was the end of one part of their journey, another had just begun.

Rover AE-112-OA-45, Tash'Var Ishan (Formerly Nevos), Teyolia System, Silean Nebula

It took several days for the entire fleet to go through the Relay, but now they were here, in the Silean Nebula, the new home of the Quarian species. They had quickly established an outpost on Cyone, formerly an Asari colony of 260 million, now all that remained was broken ruins and mass graves, shot-apart skyscrapers still rose to meet the heavens, jutting up from the ground like rotten teeth. The 200 Quarians who now lived planetside on Cyone were the first Quarian colonists in three centuries, it was... increadible. Cyone was now Ksi'm Iyen, or Wanderer's Rest. But it would not be the new Quarian homeworld, it would be a colony, but the center of restored Quarian civilization would be somewhere else and that is why the Patrol Fleet and the Civilian Fleet left the Kypladon System and made their way to the Teyolia System, to the new Homeworld, Keelah.

While the Heavy Fleet stayed in the Kypladon System to guard the Relay and make sure no unwelcome guest entered the cluster the Civilian and Patrol Fleets now orbited Nevos, or Tash'Var Ishan as the Quarian had started calling it, the name had been Admiral Koris´idea and Tali found it very fitting, Journey's End. Nevos was another former Asari colony and more importantly, another Garden World in addition to Cyone. Nevos had been home to a thriving Asari colony of almost 700 million. Sandy beaches and romantic twin moons fueled a bustling tourism economy, while the people lived in spiraling arcologies built along towering cliffs. All of that was in ruins, but the Migrant Fleet orbiting the world bustled with ceaseless activity. Dropships and transports came and went, survey teams explored the planet and work corps cleared settlement sites, Tash'Var Ishan quickly became spiked with colonies consisting of prefabricated modules housing and supporting workers who built the first Quarian cities in three centuries...

Tali looked out across the grassy plain as the Rover bumped along toward on of the module colonies, in the distance she saw a group of explorers milling about near another Rover. Tali had been given a bit of a PR assignment as the other Admirals thought themselves as "too busy". Koris was coordinating the colonization efforts and the large planetary construction projects as cities were being constructed, industrial sites were springing up and survey teams marked mineral deposits for mining. Xen on the other hand was searching through the ruins of the old Asari cities, looking for any and all insights into Asari technology by scouring laboratories and research centers, success was limited. Gerrel kept watch over the Relay, ready to stop any ship that passed through and Raan patrolled across the Nebula as when the galaxy was dangerous before, it could perhaps be even more dangerous now. The Reapers were indeed gone, but the old balance of power was gone as well, every species and civilization among the stars now struggling to find it's path among the ruins and corpses of the past age.

But what Tali was going to do was important as well. Iyana'Zaar Vas Tarlez, part of the administrative staff of the K'sar Ralah settlement had given birth to a daughter. It might not seem relevant at all, but the fact remained, that little girl was the first Quarian to be born on a planet in three hundred years. The birth was not without difficulties and complications and the doctors in the small module colony fought for three days to save the two lives. They were successful and both mother and child were now in a sable condition. It was a momentous occasion and Tali's mission was to put on a show, to see the mother and the child, decorate the doctor, pose for pictures and hold a speech in the central module of the colony. She would much rather have gone and checked out the old Asari shipyards...

Gotha, Dholen System, Far Rim
Platform Lictor

Aboard the high altitude orbital platform, the Signs About puttered about, drives only active enough to keep it stationary against the gravity well of the nearby world. Lictor peered out the bridge window, a twinge of dissatisfaction with the open flaw in the defensive matrix tugging at his psyche again before he quashed it. It was a necessary excess, in this case, so the head of the infiltration division simply had to school his thoughts on the topic. The Signs About was not a standard Geth vessel, built for efficiency and durability. Indeed, it was one of the most poorly engineered vessels that Lictor had ever had the dissatisfaction of being aboard; rivets were imperfectly welded, tolerances on strain-loaded joints were far beyond acceptable parameters, and they even had a system for channeling water about the vessel for no apparent reason.

But that was because the light cruiser was not a Geth vessel. An old derelict salvaged from one of the many ships that had tried to infiltrate Geth space over the past centuries, the Signs was a fairly modern design, only five years old. Hailing with a Martian nomenclature, she had been a mining assessment ship built for stealth, which the intel spooks figured was probably on a covert assessment operation of Dholen's resources before she had been caught out by a routine patrol and disabled.

Now she would serve a new purpose. Lictor leaned back in his chair, consciously yawning as he felt the bizarre sensation of the ligaments in his legs stretching to accommodate the more languid posture. Human affectations were something he would just have to get used to. The platforms on his team, aptly named Meatbag Command, were all wearing the new mimicry skins that his team had worked to develop before the Reaper War. Though they had been used to great effect for infiltrating lines on Rannoch, masquerading as nonliving objects and even shambling indoctrinated units, their true design purpose could now be utilized.

His second, Lamellar, walked up to seat herself in the secondary command chair, an odd human invention. Apparently there were many situations in which the organics might need to relinquish command to an inferior officer, or temporarily be unable to perform their duties. While Lictor understood the concept, Lamellar's presence was really for one reason- if his platform was rendered inert, he would not be able to command the operation further, but she was fully briefed on the objectives of the Signs' outbound flight.

Observe and interact. That was the objective. Though much could be gleaned from the intranet of the Systems Alliance, Geth researchers had yet to gather much in the way of data that could truly be considered firsthand in their endeavors to understand the organic mode of thought. They knew enough to allow Meatbag Command to effectively infiltrate a fringe colony as a mining vessel, with a fake registry trail planted all the way back to shipyards over Europa. But in order to live at peace with the galaxy in an age where the unifying threat of the Reapers was no longer existant, the Consensus needed to understand how the rest of the cosmos lived.

Lictor finished his mental review, and nodded at the helmsman, another organic innovation. Most of their ships were dead, commanded by simple brains. It was almost like walking on a dead barren world instead of a vibrant garden planet, and the experience still left Lictor unnerved. But that would just be another thing he would have to adapt to. The helmsman brought the Signs around, and began her slow trajectory towards the Dholen system Relay.

Rannoch, Rannoch System, Perseus Veil
Platform Thea

The soft crunch of the landing ramp on the blasted soil was the first noise Thea heard upon returning to Rannoch, and it instantly touched her with sadness. It was a curious fate, how the leap to individual volition had allowed the Geth to begin adopting emotional responses. Most platforms still chose not to allow their hardware such upgrades, but the code seemed to be a natural function of the sense of self which all programs now possessed, and thus many had embraced the new feelings as inexorable. But as she looked out over the blasted skies and dead land of Rannoch, Thea felt a moment of regret at that decision.

Without emotions she would have only assessed the loss of billions here as a matter of numbers and utility, not the severance of uncounted unique viewpoints on eternity. Without emotions, this would have just been a dead world, a casualty of war, not a searing black mark on the history of the Consensus. But she had chosen to feel, and in part that was why the First Voice had acquiesced to her request to begin the process of rehabilitating the homeworld of the Creators. The Old Machines had killed their way down from orbit inch by inch; off in the distance she could already see the shattered form of one of their capital ships like a small mountain looming next to the corpse of a Geth Dreadnought. They had cleansed the world using orbital fire, and when even that failed to dislodge the defenders, landed and attacked the positions with their doomsday weapons at point-blank range. Estimates of the number of units destroyed had to rely on imprecise data, a nearly unheard of situation for the normally infallible Geth systems, but the truth was that any platforms which had held that information had to the knowledge of the Consensus perished in the defense of this planet.

But there was still hope for Rannoch. Her oceans boiled away, her atmosphere was mostly turbulent storms and a ceaseless overcast. Even as Thea stood on the exit ramp she could feel condensation settling out of the air on her cool mechanical form. And where there was water, there could be life.

The Krogan Dominion

Aboard the Krogan Dreadnought Kalros above Tuchanka

Overlord Kurgan was sitting in his command throne aboard the Krogan Dreadnought Kalros, Kurgan sat above the bridge crew on a pedestal into the throne was a constant stream of information that constantly inform the captain of the ships status.
The Dreadnought Kalrog was currently overseeing the evacuation fleet that would bring the Krogan population to a new home. The evacuation fleet was a large collection of civilian crafts that would fit millions of krogans that had to flee tuchanka. The crafts were never meant to last but fortunately they would not have to. Overlord Kurgan had promised that the first priority was to settle a new homeworld where the Krogan species might once again grow strong.

Overlord Kurgan thoughts were disturbed when his second in command Battlemaster Kosh spoke up

The Large Krogan in heavy armor spoke up "Overlord the captains are ready for you in the war room"
Overlord Kurgan - "Hmm very well let's be done with this"

The doors opened as the two Krogans proceeded into a large room with all the captains standin in a circle around a large holografic starmap that currently displayed the fleet in orbit of Tuchanka. Most of the fleets had been former clan leaders who begrudingly united under the rule of Overlord Kurgan since he had created a professional Krogan army to fight the Reapers- The army was composed of Krogan warriors of all walks of life from young Krogans who did not pass their rite of passage to Ruthless bloodpack fighters who wanted a good fight. He had in the end united them under his leadership and imbued them with nationalistic fervor to serve their race above clans and family he now hoped to imbue the rest of the krogans in the same way.

Overlord Kurgan spoke up "Fellow Krogans we are now at an impasse we hold the destiny of our race in our hands and we simply have no choice but
KORBAL VICTORY OR DEATH.

the assembled captains stambed their feet in unison

Overlord Kurgan continued the harsh truth is that the reapers simply weeded out the weak and left the strong to fight on and with the Genophage partially cured our numbers will start to swell i heard this morning that a female had laid 1000 eggs and 400 had been fertile! THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING
Tuchanka our home has given it's last breath but while it forged strong krogans our strengh does not come from technology or economics it comes from our numbers we once overwhelmed our enemies and we will do so again i promise you!

BUT KURGAN where do we go? one of the many Krogans shouted

we go to the terminus i have been informed that the Caleston rift was cleansed by the Reapers and there are worlds ripe for the taking IN THE NAME OF TUCHANKA, IN THE NAME OF SURVIVAL I SWEAR AS YOUR OVERLORD WE WILL RISE HARDER AND STRONGER BECAUSE WE ARE KROGANS!
the Captains started to stamp their feet once again and chant KORBAL KORBAL KORBAL KORBAL (VICTORY OR DEATH)

NOW GO MY BROTHERS PREPARE YOUR SHIPS THE FLEET LEAVES WITHIN THE HOUR!

Parsac, Temple of Aanta,
Kyzil System, Imperium of Kyzil

The sun beat on the desert of the former mining world of Parsac. The desert showed its cracks but the Vorcha who lived there didn't falter. Many of the clans who still lived there were peaceful and had a high degree of biotic potential in the whole of the Imperium. They were known as the smartest Vorcha in the galaxy and had managed to conduct themselves with some manner of civility. Over the months, the rise of the worship of Aanta had skyrocketed since a lot of them had started to take an interest in getting smarter and make something better for themselves. Because of this, the Vorcha in this planet are highly sought after because of their skills and quest for knowledge.

The Ash Council was meeting in the Temple for months now to conduct their monthly meetings. The Temple was made of stone and was reinforced with steel, it was ornate for the time and was something of a masterpiece in comparison to the buildings on Naskral but nothing as urban or modern as the ones on the Trade Worlds. The Clans here had made delicate paintings and had history etched into the very stone that was smooth over by mason patterns and the expertise of learned Engineer Vorcha.

The Council met under the statue of Aanta, who was an elegant female Vorcha who held up a moon made of obsidian that represent the unknown and the void itself but the idea that she is the "smartest in the dark". They sat on comfy chairs that were imported from Human space and had a holotable that was more advanced than anything a normal Vorcha would normally have. From here there was a moment of silence for the respect of the dead, the ones from the War and the ones who died saving the Vorcha from the Reapers at Heshtok. After which, they begin the meeting.

" Well, it seems that our population is rising, as usual." Ghul spoke in a heavy sigh as she was looking down at the steel and grid of the holotable. " Yeah, so is everyone else. The thing is, we need to start thinking about the economy and the research." Tov said as he was grabbing a datapad from his sophisticated clothing that is rarely seen from the Vorcha. He connected it to his Omni-tool and started to insert the data into the holotable and make the holotable activate with ships and other patterns.

" Me and Siless have been thinking about what we could do about our navy. He came up with the idea of incorporating the Geth's use of building our ships during the Reaper Invasion." Siless chimed in," me hate old ships. Too many ships poor. Geth shipyard build better ships. Sturdy ships." The Council started to think about the idea of having better ships and make a new standard of templates. " I'm sure that means we will need to put more of an emphasis on orbital stations because we can not spare the expense of ground base research stations. Since we don't have the planetary income to spare."

The three Vorcha gave nods in approval as the others slowly came into the fold. " Next is the military, Baz?" She turns her head to the other cybernetic Vorcha in the room," I believe that we need to start reforming on the other Vorcha. We can't rely on mech pilots forever. Vorcha bodies will always be needed and we only have very few on so many planets. However I have something else that we need to focus on before anything else." He gave a sigh before he spoke," we need a sort intelligence network."

When he said that, laughter came from Siless," Vorcha no sneak! Vorcha fight. Too stupid to sneak. No quiet. Not Salarians." This made Baz angry but he held it back as he spoke," believe it or not Siless, Vorcha can be more than just swarming planets with hordes. I have seen it that that Vorcha are capable of change. I have seen things on the ground that I will probably never dreamed of. The idea that Vorcha are capable of being commandos, scouts, and spies to the hordes. Now in the post-Reaper galaxy, the Vorcha have gone back to their ways. As the Humans say " nothing new under the Sun" but I believe that there are some Vorcha out there that can be of some use if we can find them.

What I ask is for you to give me some of the budget to get a sort of intelligence network to help us in case of Salarians or the Shadow Broker." Ghul snickers but is serious to the idea," if there are Vorcha who are stealth specialists, then we should try to find if such things are indeed possible. Either way, I think this cycle's budget is situated on intelligence and orbital stellar structures. Now, I believe that we should also allow Siless' token force to be able to restart Operation Sacred Job. That's all for the meeting."

Report on the Status of the Galaxy After the Reapers

As you know, the assault on the Citadel was successful. Shepard's plan worked, permanently disabling all Reaper vessels in galactic space. Regrettably enough, most of them seemed to have been destroyed without restraint or consideration for their incredible research potential. We will have to investigate the matter further - perhaps there are Reapers still hidden in the galaxy, disabled as they passed through an unimportant system and thus still intact.

Regardless, the factions, once united, have begun to splinter. Initial assessments have determined that most major fleets were weakened by 50% or more, meaning that even a power such as us can now exert control over significant amounts of space. There are no longer any major powers in Terminus capable of influencing the sector as a whole. There are no longer any powers in Terminus space likely to oppose even drastic expansion on our part. Most of the systems nearby are deserted, unclaimed, or unexplored, leaving us as the undisputed potential master of the system.

Note the use of potential, however. We must move quickly if that is to be true. Previously, manufacturing capacities and fleet production was kept at a minimum to prevent detection by the Reapers or others. I know the Machine is reluctant, but you must convince it. There is a rare window of opportunity after every war, where the powers involved turn inwards to rebuild. Obviously, nobody is going to start another war anytime soon, but beyond that, very few are going to care about what we do here. Thus, we need:

1. A bigger fleet. Our current tactics are outdated. We must convert the fleet from a patrol focus to a focus on taking and holding space. We have no capital ships capable of standing up in a major engagement, and though that is not a concern for now, it should remain a top priority.
2. More resources. During the war, we began the shift to a self-contained economy not reliant on trade. That has served us well thus far, but such an economy can only grow with more space and more resources. Our manufacturing potential at the moment is less than half of even the smallest splinter state of the Asari, for example. This must be rectified, but I trust we can count on the bounty of unclaimed systems nearby and the principles of exponential growth to rectify that problem.

Good luck, Sequencer.

Until next month.

Quarian Migrant Fleet

Unity, Order, Clan, Family

Keelah Se'lai

QRS Rayya, Teyolia System, Silean Nebula

Admiral Daro'Xen vas Moreh stood in one of the laboratories of the Rayya's research station alongside a group of Quarian scientists, watching the screens that displayed readings regarding heat buildup, heat dissipation and mag-field integrity. In a containment chamber a small device had been placed, emitting a colorful shimmer of blue and purple pulsating ever so slightly. It was Xen's latest project, for so long she had worked on a way to try and restore the natural order beyond the Perseus Veil, to return the Geth to the control of their masters, they were after all, at least in her mind, nothing but machines made to serve their creators, like the screens she was currently monitoring. But with the end of the Reaper War, changes had come, the Quarians were no longer drifting aimlessly hoping for some break, they now had a break and it was not Rannoch, there was no more Rannoch and they had more important things to do than fight an enemy who outmatched them over a barren rock. Which only meant Xen could turn her clinical intellect toward other things as well and the researchers of the Migrant Fleet have, under Xen's supervision, begun working on new projects. Currently their research was regarding advances in magnetic field modulation through precise passing of currents through Element Zero, allowing for much greater, and above all, economically viable usage of superheated matter that have been transmuted into a gaseous plasma state, or simply plasma technology. It will take time and credits, but success in these attempts would open up new possibilities in many fields, including energy generation, industrial machinery and armaments.

In a way she wanted to keep studying the 'children' as Koris called them but she knew that wouldn't do, a waste of resources her dear colleagues would have called it. Especially that spineless sympathizer Koris. Probably Tali as well, Rael'Zorah's own daughter, the foolish child probably blamed his death on her father's fixation with reclaiming the Old Homeworld. Xen carefully noted the readings on the screens, a self-assured smile formed on her face as all data pointed toward the magnetic field upholding it's integrity. The object in the containment chamber was a very small fusion reactor built as a proof-of-concept for the idea she had been hatching for a few weeks now. When the reclamation of Rannoch was no longer the Migrant Fleet's top priority, shifting to finding a new homeworld there were other challenges that needed overcoming. One such challenge was cheap, plentiful energy generation, electricity is after all the base resource of modern civilization, the thing they all break down without.

There were many was to generate energy and Admiral Xen had set her sight on nuclear fusion. But this was not the standard deuterium-deuterium reaction, within the small prototype a highly controlled deuterium-deuterium reaction was taking place, much more efficient than a standard deuterium-tritium reaction and what's more, it produced much more superheated plasma and it was further contained by a pinched Eezo magnetic field that that further compressed and heated the plasma produced by the reaction. A full scale reactor-complex like this could generate truly grand amounts of power for a planetside colony. But before any of that could be done they needed more space, more time and more funding, there was no way to further increase the output of the current micro-reactor without the possibility of overloading the magnetic containment field and perhaps even the overheat the whole appliance, which would have a rather unpleasant consequence.

Xen entered a quick series of commands on the holopanel in front of her, powering down the small experimental reactor and proceeded to take her final notes from the days experiment, the other researchers working alongside her did the same as a few lab technicians geared up in protective suits, they would check the reactor for any superficial damage. Xen was pleased with the day's results, and she was sure the other Admirals would be as well. Project Nova was off the ground.

Humanity First, Transcendence Awaits

Classified Base, Phoenix Massing

It was odd coming back to this system, this planet, after so much time. Aite wasn't that special in terms of garden worlds, well besides that moon that would hit the planet in a few hundred years, but it still had a special significance to him. This was where he got first few assignments, where he moved up the organization's ranks. But now it was a burning hell hole, a remnant and reminder of what the Reapers had done to this galaxy. That was the past, and as he looked through the window of his new frigate, he realized he couldn't hold onto this place. It was time for him, and the galaxy, to move on.

Commander Abdul Waahid Halim stood in the Bridge of his ship, watching his pilot and AI pull the ship into circular orbiting. He didn't have much to do and was instead left to the inner working of his mind and thoughts. Born in Medina, Middle Eastern Coalition, he never once dreamed that he ever be leading his own ship much less be working with the Geth. Abdul had risen through the ranks quite easily, displaying qualities fit for a leader that would earn him this esteemed post.

"Sir." His private secretary ran up to him, data-pad and all, "The shuttle is ready, the meeting starts soon."

"I'll grab my things..." Abdul turned to the pilot, "Hold this ship's orbit around the asteroid. I'll send a message when I'm leaving."

"Very well sir." the pilot responded, already knowing the order.

Abdul adjusted his formal white officer uniform before walking to the shuttle bay, tailed by two other security agents. He could of course fly the shuttle himself, most could, but his security team wanted him to sit down and 'relax'. Of course they didn't really care, they just didn't want him to crash on the side of the asteroid. As the shuttle left the frigate, Abdul sat back and 'relaxed'. He rubbed his face, a habit more than anything, letting him feel the implants. It felt odd to know that some of the scars on his body where implants far more advanced than anything he could ever comprehend. Its one of those odd thoughts he had, the paranoia of having something foreign inside of him. He didn't object, at least beyond word of mouth, but didn't sit well with him.

The facility came to view, hidden within the confines of the asteroid. It was derelict for some time, its agents having to flee as Aite burned from the assault. It once processed identification and other necessities for operatives in 'hostile' territories, know it will serve as a meeting area. The shuttle descended into the landing area, a little hole in the ground sealed by a titanium 'door' and manned by fifteen Cerberus Operatives. It was suppose to be quiet, most in the Galaxy had no idea of continual Cerberus-Geth relations and command wanted to keep it like that. As the door closed and the air refilled the chamber, Abdul walked out and was greeted by two masked Marines, wearing the standard Cerberus BDU.

"Hello sir." Both men saluted their commander officer.

"Hello." Abdul half-assed his salute, "Are the guests here already?"

"No sir."

"Hmm, odd." Abdul noted, "Very well, take me to the meeting chamber."

"Right this way sir." the Marines led Abdul to the area, waiting for the Geth envoy to arrive.

Ascendant Palace, Tyxil, Ixilit System

Alarms blare in the command center. Deep Space sensors had indicated that an alien force had been detected in an Asari System. Liselle walked into the command room and barked out orders, "What are we looking at?" An officer near the center of the room replied, "It looks like Quarians. Squatting on Nevos in the Teyolia System of the Silean Nebula. We are trying to contact what is left of the Elcor. Perhaps they could send a fleet to disperse this unwanted incursion into Asari Space. We are also working on trying to contact any other Asari States, our internal comm system is offline currently, but we have been able, as you can see, to regain command over our external sensors."

Liselle looks over the information. It was quite in depth. She was looking over the code and pointed out a section, "Here, adjust the code here, remove the reaper virus and activate it fully. We will be able to send transmissions to the primary Athena Nebula. We will send an open message on the emergency code used for Asari worlds only."

Within an hour a message was crafted and sent to the Athena Nebula.

To all surviving Asari, at the end of the Reaper War our lady Aria T'Loak sacrificed herself to save over seven billion Asari on the Garden World Tyxil by destroying fifteen Reaper capital ships and two hundred reaper destroyers as well as their invasion force by destroying the Mass Relay on this side with a prototype weapon. As a result, there is no passage between our system and the rest of the Athena Nebula any further. We wish to notify the other Asari States of an incursion into Asari Space by the Quarian fleets in the Silean Nebula. As we are unable to presently respond to this invasion, we request that a coalition of Asari warfleets be assembled to defend our sovereignty until we are able to re-establish full connections between each state. In two months time, I request that the leadership of each major organization meets on Thessia to discuss the future of our species and to get an accurate count of our strength both militarily and economically. I look forward to meeting all of you.

New Citadel, Sanves, Ialessa System, Athena Nebula, the Ialessan Free Territory
Choosing Sides, Drawing Lines

Treeya listened to the message play yet again, her Defense Council waiting patiently for her to speak. The Defense Council, like all the Federal Councils, were merely advisory. However, between them, they represented the brunt of the leadership of the militias that had come together to secure the Free Territory. Their word carried not the authority of the Territory, but of their own lips - and it was none the less weighty for it.

Treeya muttered indignantly, as the councillors waited for her to complete her reasonably predictable response. "The Silean Nebula is barely asari space, let alone worth defending under the auspices of Tyxili. We'd just be leaving ourselves exposed to the Destiny Ascension 'protecting' us from Thessia! And what for - to try and match the Quarian military? It is not lost on me that the 'Ascendency' would deny the Quarians a homeworld while the Ascension denies us the same. It'd be a bloodbath. We'd lose more lives than the Ascendancy is worth."

The Defense Council sighed collectively. Treeya was a capable figurehead, but she'd no head for the difficult decisions of state. That being said, it was true that no-one in the room wanted a war with a much larger power - particularly not alongside the entirely more industrial systems of their former brethren. Whether it was a better idea to allow the Quarians free reign of Outer Citadel Space? Entirely more questionable. Treeya's ideals were placing them firmly on one side of a rock and a hard place, but it did seem the more strategic approach.

A human councillor offered a meek, raised hand. Surprisingly out-of-character, for the man who was responsible for leading the mass defection of the only non-Asari Ialessan dreadnaught. Admiral Ganarayja was a known mediator, and exceptionally capable at the helm of his vessel. During the chaos of the Reaper War, he stymied an attempted mutiny, attempting to capture his vessel on behalf of Cerberus in open defiance of the ailing Systems Alliance bureaucracy. Putting down the mutiny by defecting to Treeya's burgeoning fleet, and permitting the would-be-coup-d'etat passage to Cerberus, he became perhaps the most prominent non-asari figure in the Free Territory.

"If you do not object, Doctor, I should like to take up the Tyxili Ascendancy's offer."

Treeya smiled weakly.

"Of course I do not object. You understand, though, that I will be contacting the Migrant Fleet?"

"Of course, Treeya."

The intelligence assets of the Free Territory, whilst in their infancy, were still extensive. The Free Territory did not to claim the mantlepiece of the Shadow Broker, by any means, but they certainly played their own games with the favours of state. Amongst them, Treeya was certain that she would be able to find someone able to pass a message onto the Quarian Migrant Fleet.

It has come to my attention that the Migrant Fleet has recently arrived in what is traditionally considered to be Asari Space, by entering the Silean Nebula. I understand that steps have been taken to notify asari at large of your presence in Outer Citadel Space, and we wish to clarify your purpose and intentions as a regional sovereign force. We would welcome an envoy, or a secure communications channel.

The Urchin, humorously named by the onboard Cognatus for her unloved existence as a stealth courier, dropped out of orbit as her concealment systems went offline. Irulian hadn't given notice of resenting the delay, being preoccupied in the chambers assigned to the intelligence, but technically the courier was tardy for her appointment. There was no help for it though; Gotha system jump clearance for the Massing had been backed up due to some sort of military exercise, and even emissary-level clearance hadn't been enough to get the comptrollers to budge.

Strange, that. The programs that oversaw the routing for the ten thousand independent vessels in Dholen space were usually scrupulous about maintaining open lanes for formal Consensus affairs, despite the recent upswing in traffic. But today even they had not had enough cycles to deal with the backlog promptly. Even with the best precision precog nets in the cluster, well, sometimes there wasn't anything you could do.

Urchin hadn't ever worked this route before, her Cognatus only recently being upgraded after proving to be a Class IX in time at the dockyards. But Irulian was an old hand, and indeed had been present for many of the negotiations with jumpy Council powers during the Reaper Conflict when the organics had been sure Geth dreadnoughts were only hours from taking vengeance on known space alongside the Old Machines.

She pinged the private chamber, even though technically Irulian was still attached to the uplink. Sentience had brought with it a host of realizations about the extent to which minds should meld, a novel experience for the previously nonprivate Geth, but one which research dictated was a natural outcome of the development of the self in cognitive terms. The platform that emerged was clad in a svelte silver greatcoat and the form of an elderly but robust human male, sporting a thick white mustache and black hair only touched by gray at the temples.

"Ah, Cerberus. Urchin, did central have any speculative scenarios run for their evolving relationship with the SA I should be aware of?"

The ship rifled through her databanks, before coming up empty.

"Negative, prime. Diplomatic instructions for this meeting are merely low-level state of the galaxy discussions. Hear what they have to say, offer input, let them know about our ambitions in the Massing. Redundancy, of course."

Irulian scratched at his stubble-studded chin, enjoying the tactile feel of coarseness on his ever-so-sensitive fingertips. This would be an interesting meeting at the least because this would be the first time the separatist organization would get an introduction to the new Geth physiomods. He knew about the military models, of course, but this was merely a civilian blend; if well scanned it would read as synthetic, despite mimicking organic structures and usages. Making the galaxy cease to fear the Consensus was ever more important with the Reapers gone as a unifying threat, and organics operated on a very instinctual level. Look like them, talk like them, and the Geth were sure acceptance would follow.

The Urchin descended, slender metallic legs like tendrils of spun starlight extending as she touched down inside the hangar of the secure asteroid facility. From her near mirror smooth exterior the lines of a door manifested in the polished cool white skin, and then a ramp slide out from a nearly invisible opening in the vessel, a small craft scarcely larger than a long-range fighter. Down the ramp Irulian descended, deep black boots setting off the slate gray trousers and silver greatcoat that he wore, no insignia or guards in evidence as the Geth emissary arrived.
Quite the unofficial fellow. Former P2TM Mentor specializing in faction and nation RPs, as well as RPGs. Always happy to help.

Quarian Migrant Fleet

Unity, Order, Clan, Family

Keelah Se'lai

QRS Rayya, Teyolia System, Silean Nebula

"Admiral Zorah, Admiral Zorah please come in." Tali heard her comms buzz to life, it was Auntie Raan, a pleasant surprise but it was soon marred by the fact that the transmission came over the secure channel of the Admiralty. Handling different duties on different ships, the Admirals had used it for when they were unable to meet in the Chamber of the Board. "This is Admiral Zorah, what is it Admiral Raan?" Another voice responded, the others were apparently already connected and discussing whatever needed to be discussed. While the at first pleasant surprise of Raan's call turned out to be work, Tali did not mind work in and of itself. She had a lot of spare time these days, well, as much as an Admiral of the Migrant Fleet could have but as a potential reclamation of Rannoch was no longer the purpose of the Fleet, a Synthetic Countermeasure Director was not a person who would be swamped in work.

"We have received a transmission from the Free Territory." Admiral Zaal'Koris said. Tali cocked her eyebrow, not that any potential observer would be able to see it. "The Free Territory?" She asked, not exactly sure of what was being discussed. "From the transmission wording it seems plausible to believe that it is one of the Asari successor states as they are quite interested in knowing our purpose here in the Nebula." Tali brought the message up on the HUD of her visor and read through it. She had tried to warn the Admirals that claiming the Silean Nebula would probably lead to conflict and tension with the Asari splinter states, but Koris, Gerrel and Xen had simply talked in dreamy voices about the wealth and beauty of the Silean Nebula and it's worlds, indeed, Nevos was beautiful, so was Cyone, but was it worth another war? Tali had tried to convince them to claim the Rosetta Nebula instead but she and Raan had to concede in the end. "If it is one of the successor states I say we meet with them, send an envoy, they say they'll receive one and I prefer we get on friendly terms with at least one of those states, it would stabilize the region as those Asari governments have been rising and falling by the week for months, if we keep close to one we can aid them in stabilizing Asari space." Tali said.

"I agree fully with Admiral Zorah, if we can get one of the more powerful splinter states to recognize the Nebula as the territory of a sovereign Quarian nation it would make our position more stable, especially if we support them in reasserting a new Asari Republic under their control." Admiral Koris said, and soon Raan chimed in with her voice. And so the Admiralty Board decided to send a reply to this agent of the supposed Asari splinter state, one clarifying their intent in the region and informing them of the Migrant Fleet's willingness to negotiate regarding the present situation. The message was compiled and sent with a very similar encryption code as the message they had received, most agents of this 'Free Territory' would probably be able to decipher it and pass it along to their masters.

The Migrant Fleet has entered the Silean Nebula to find a home, while it has indeed been Asari space once, in the wake of the Reaper War the population of these worlds is either dead or fled. Quarian presence in Outer Citadel Space is a fact because of the promise given to the Fleet that aid against the Reapers would be rewarded with a Homeworld and Nevos was chosen as the best candidate. We would not have made such moves should any Asari presence remained in the Nebula and have no ill intent against any Asari colonies. Our intentions in the region are to have the Silean Nebula and it's systems recognized as space belonging to a sovereign Quarian state. We would be willing to send an envoy to meet with representatives of the Free Territory, where would you suggest such a meeting would take place?

Representatives of the Migrant Fleet.

Lusia

It would never be as grand or spectacular as Thessia, but Lusia, the home of the Order of Athame, was still a bustling world, especially since the war ended. Refugees had poured onto the world, like several others, to flee the Reapers and devastation they had brought. The world also had history, it was the planet where the Council had said 'No more' to Krogan expansion, which would lead to the Krogan Rebellion. Perhaps to future generations of Asari it would be where their species said 'No more' too disunity, and to the old order of Asari life.

Matriarch Alenia Nyxemi had situated herself in a new capitol building, though it was still all a rapid change. In the Republics she had certainly wielded considerable power, but that was because she had formed alliances with the right Asari. It had been a relationship of give and take, but now? She could order a city to be purged and it would be done, just like that. It was intoxicating and horrific at the same time. The Order of Athame had always been fairly large in membership but Alenia had never expected it to have blossomed as much as it had, herself not being really involved in the Order for the past century and a half of her life. Her daughters had taken over the Order in an apparently very bloody coup. They did their mother proud. Of course the Reaper War hadn't done any favors for the Asari as a whole, nor Alenia personally, the scars on her face were still healing and the bionic eye still flared up in pain every now and then, but she was alive and in a position of considerable power, with only her daughters to worry about stabbing her in the back, but they seemed content to let her die of old age, just another century or two really.

Alenia sighed and stopped herself from scratching at her bionic eye as a fit of itchiness washed over her eye-socket, instead curling her hands into fists and cursing gently. Her new office was much like her last, spartan and everything served a purpose, even the expensive art pieces. Guards inhabited discreet locations, behind pillars and such. A beep from her desk holo-display brought welcomed distraction from the itching. A message on a priority channel from...Liselle T'Loak, a now self-styled Queen? Interesting. She read the message and sighed. Of course there were bound to be problems in rebuilding the Asari, but for the Quarians to send fleets into the Silean Nebula? Colonization was certainly something that jumped to the forefront of Alenia's mind. It was just another issue to be dealt with, she supposed. She had already published an agenda to her subordinates and knew they were already on task. As the head of state for the Order, she sent orders for an official correspondence to be sent to the Quarians via a still somewhat intact information relay that had been used to send minor official documents throughout Asari space. It had been survived the Reaper war, no doubt thanks to its general uselessness for transferring large sums of data.

To the Migrant Fleet of the Quarian species

The Order of Athame, the true successor state to the Asari Republics, had been informed of trespasses by the fleets of the Quarian Flotilla and unlawful colonization of Asari worlds. Arch-Matriarch Alenia Nyxemi of the Order of Athame has selected to proceed with this unwarranted intrusion by legal avenues, and the Migrant Fleet are hereby ordered to cease and desist any and all colonization or expansion of the Silean Nebula.

Viisla Nyxemi, First Consul of the Order Diplomatic Corps

Lusia, Order of Athame Naval station

“So, the suit rats are trying to settle, hm?” The voice of Seyeka Nyxemi had always been heavy with arrogance, but then she had always been the destined daughter of the group, the chosen one as it were. She was actually the second oldest daughter of Alenia, a pure-bred with exceptional biotic talent, given the best tutors and teachers in life. Of course Alenia was a hard mother to please or impress, but Seyeka always seemed to manage it no matter what she was impressing her mother with. Her intelligence, confidence, what have you, but where she always seemed to shine the most was military action, be it close quarters combat or strategic thinking, Seyeka had a mind meant for war. While others had been cowered during the Reaper War, she had all but celebrated it, and now she was the Supreme Commander of the Order's military forces, her authority second only to the Arch-Matriarch.

Viisla kept herself from rolling her eyes as she turned to look at her younger sister. She would be the first to admit that Seyeka certainly had the look to go with her role. Tall, powerfully built, her sister looked the part of a huntress.

“Yes, the Migrant Fleet has apparently set its sights on the Silean Nebula. Mother is trying to be diplomatic about having them removed, but I don't see that happening.” Viisla said, quite the opposite of her sister in appearance. She fit well into the stereotypical galactic image of an Asari, even exaggerated it a little, but she could be just as ruthless as Seyeka, even if their battlefields were different.

Seyeka sighed. “And yet here we are, Mother sending me to Thessia to reclaim a charred rock.” She snorted in annoyance. “I get that it is important to claim it, but is this big of a fleet needed?” She asked, looking up at the assembling fleet above.

“Most certainly. There are plenty of splinter factions out there, not to mention we could have other species intruding into our space as well. Best to be prepared. There are other tasks to be done as well, and I should get going. Best of luck, dear sister.” Viisla smiled and Seyeka, giving her a light hug before she turned and left the landing platform as a shuttle came down to whisk Seyeka up to the Destiny Ascension, where she would then take her force back to the homeworld. A smaller task force would be sent to the Orisoni system to try and bring a few of those Republics into the fold of the Order, and an even smaller task force was being sent on an expedition to seek out new systems and clusters for the Order.

Operation Sturdy Arm
Research Station, Tyxil, Ixilit System, Athena Beta

Researchers rush around as they work on the Stellar Lance project further. Liselle is aiding them directly as she accesses Prothean artifacts to give them more information regarding the technology when she finds an interesting project they were working on. She begins inputing the information into their computers and within a few hours they have the Prothean's research. They begin forwarding research to sub-departments within the organization to further their own technologies.

"Keep this secret. We don't need the other states to realize what we have here."

The Xen

"Pardon me, there were many more matters that needed urgent attention than I had anticipated." Admiral Zaal'Koris said as he entered the Chamber of the Admiralty, the others were already there, waiting for him seated at the large circular glass table. Admiral Koris had been taking charge of colonization efforts on Tash'Var since they arrived not even a month ago. His report regarded the progress made by the colonists planetside, and the progress was pleasing to the ear, it awakened a spirit of rebirth within Tali's chest.

It seemed clear that Tash'Var Ishan, or Nevos as the Asari had once called it would become the political, economic and cultural heart of the new Quarian state, over 500 000 Quarians now called it home as more and more colonies dotted the planet and small parts of the cities were becoming opened for habitation. Money started flowing in from the planet as industries and mines were set up and began producing goods, ruins of Asari cities were being cleared, the rubble replaced with building sites. And, of course, that birth. Tali remembered how she had handed decorations over to the doctor and nurses who had fought to save that child and her mother, giving birth on a planet, without a sterilized clean-room. It was a miracle that those two were not among the Ancestors. The birth had been the catalyst for celebration among the Quarian people, but it was also making Admiral Tali'Zorah understand a very important thing. We are here now, this is our home. Home had become a fixed place, and that changed everything, forever.

"Yes Admiral Koris, urgent matters need our attention." Raan said impatiently as Koris took his seat. "We have another communication, from the Order of Athame. Another one of the Successor States." Shala'Raan entered a quick command on a holopanel before her seat, the communication from the Order of Athame was projected in shimmering blue light above the table. Koris gave a low grumble as he read through the words. "If they think we're just leaving, they can forget that right away." Koris said, and, rare as it was, the entire Admiralty Board agreed, everyvoice speaking in unison. Even the two former Reclaimers and unofficial figureheads of the movement Xen and Gerrel, but as with everything regarding the Quarians, Quarian politics were in for a change as well.

"Let us be honest, it was only a matter of time until this would happen." Admiral Han'Gerrel said sternly, the eyes behind his polarized visor sweeping across the other Admirals. "While there have been no overt threats we need to see to our defense, we can no longer run and hide, this is our home and we have to be able to defend it." Gerrel entered a quick command on the holopanel before him and Asari message dispersed as the projector in the center of the table formed a large holographic image of the Silean Nebula instead, zooming in on the Kypladon System and it's worlds. "We have a presence on Cyone." Gerrel stopped himself with a small snort. "I mean, we have a presence on Ksi'm Iyen, but that is not enough. The outpost is reporting finds of many precious minerals in great abundance, titanium, aluminium, gold, iron. Katebolo was a major producer of military-grade starship fuel. While Tash'Var Ishan becomes our capitol among the stars, Ksi'm Iyen must become our fortress among the stars. Currently we only have the Heavy Fleet in defensive positions at the Relay, any attacker would be coming into a rather... unpleasant crossfire but should they get through us, there will be only the Patrol Fleet and whatever remains of a defeated Heavy Fleet."

Admiral Shala'Raan nodded at Admiral Han'Gerrel's words. "It is imperative we have more than one line of defense. I would like that we set aside funds for the colonization and fortification of the Kypladon System, a mining station should be set up in the asteroid belt while we establish mines and industries on Ksi'm Iyen, second order priority would be orbital defense platforms above the planet." Raan suggested. "I must agree with this idea, we live here now, a child has been born on Tash'Var. We need to fortify the gateway into the Nebula and work towards strengthening our Navy." Tali was confident in these words for they needed to keep their home safe, as of yet there was no clear threat but it was better to be safe than sorry, especially now, with such a promising future at stake.

"I must say I agree with this as well." Admiral Daro'Xen chimed in. "And I have an idea, developed in my spare time I would like to present regarding this." Admiral Xen tapped away at her omni-tool and the image of the Kypladon System reformed into a blue, shimmering hologram representing a space-station, a large space station. It was divided into 4 quadrants separated by long piers and a large central structure. "This is the Xen-Class Starfort." Of course it is. Tali thought to herself with a cynical smile invisible behind her visor, Admiral Xen, ever the egocentric. "Powered by a Plasma reactor, the experience we will gain going further into Project Nova from this project will be immense." Admiral Xen said as the hologram rotated slowly above the table. "The generator will be able to power dreadnought-class armaments, so the Starfort would be quite capable of dueling a dreadnought-class hostile, with additional hangar bays and improved combat and command systems on board, as well as repair docks and military production facilities, the Xen-class could be a linchpin in the future defense of the Silean Nebula." Xen sounded very pleased with herself.

The debate around the Starfort was not a long one given the current situation, and it resulted with all five Admirals voicing their support for the project, it would take months to complete the fort but work would start this same week, ships would mine the Kypladon Asteroid Belt and extract minerals for the superstructure, progress, however slow, was still undeniably progress.

To: Viisla Nyxemi, First Consul of the Order Diplomatic Corps
From: The Admirals of the Board.

The fact is that the Silean Nebula is no longer Asari, there are no Asari Republics upholding their control over the Nebula, and there is no remaining Asari population forming a splinter state. Had this not been the case, the Migrant Fleet would not have chosen the Silean Nebula and we assure you and your government that the Quarian government has no ill intent against any of the Successor states, just as there are no territorial ambitions in former Republics space other than the Silean Nebula, which the Board would have recognized as the space of a sovereign Quarian State.

Central District, Sanves, Ialessa System, Athena Nebula, the Ialessan Free Territory
In the Arms of an Angel

Agent Alahya was a volus. Not an uncommon showing in the Free Territory.

He sipped his piping hot beverage, poring over a datapad in the bright sunlight. The table he sat at was a quaint, wooden affair. Around him, the midday streets were totally devoid of life, but they rang with loud noise and mechanical pattern. As he peered over the datapad, a billboard across the street from him flashed into life.

The Central District was one of the resorts destroyed in the Reaper Invasion. It had been restored into a redundant life support system, helping to maintain the delicate balance of life across the planet necessary to maintain its many species. Thanks to the Central District, everything from little pendrive servers to vast robotic smoke stacks regulated Sanves to within less than a percent of tolerance on dozens of vital statistics. Whilst it hosted many professionals from across Sanves, now and again, its businesses were still abandoned and in disrepair. It would take a long time for Sanves' population to naturally disperse around the much cheaper, but less desirable, properties.

So intelligence Agents like Alahya were perfectly free to do what they liked, whereever they wanted, away from the public eye. Usually, anyway.

Alahya put down his beverage, and stowed away his datapad, crossing over to the billboard to read the fineprint of its no-doubt obsolete advertisement. The little letters that bordered the billboard shifted and vibrated, a sign of post-processing compression. They were added after the fact, their rendering driving the primitive processing capabilities of the billboard to its limit. It was no longer connected to the networks of Sanves, and there was no reason for it to be - there were, per usual, no-one to read it but Alahya. At least, that was how it was designed to appear. For just a millisecond, the billboard had suddenly been part of the galactic extranet, and a message had been given for it to pass on.

The coded details of the Quarian missive flashed on the billboard, and Alahya tapped out a message on his datapad - again, in code. A smile crept across his face.

We are amicable towards your proposed course of action, and will be dispatching a representative to the Silean Nebula by civilian vessel. Please be in a position to receive them.

An Agent of the Free Territory

Alahya shot a message to the Ialessan Intelligence Centre. He'd have a ride soon - first to the spaceport, and then offworld.
If I can't play bass, I don't want to be part of your revolution.

Quarian Migrant Fleet

Unity, Order, Clan, Family

Keelah Se'lai

City of Thur'Abish, Tash'Var Ishan, Teyolia System, Silean Nebula

The view was not amazing, it mostly consisted of construction sites stretching across the warm coastline, a lazy river running through the emerging city. Then there were the ruins that still remained, those not too far gone were repaired and restored to usable condition while the rubble from the others was simply cleared and made way for a fresh building site. Thur'Abish was to be the capital of Tash'Var Ishan, and through it the capital of the Quarian state itself. Beyond the city modular colonies housed the workers, engineers and architects that constructed the city, each morning they arrived in trams from the colonies and each evening they left to go back. Architect... a very young profession among our people today. On the city's outskirts manufacturing complexes provided them with metal alloys, ferrocrete, polycrete, glass, tools and machinery to continue the construction. The State Quarter was mostly finished, edifices of government rising up and it was in one of the newly constructed skyscrapers in that district that the Admiral stood looking out across the city. The view was not amazing, but it did send a message. This is Quarian soil.

Shala'Raan vas Tonbay turned away from the window of the meeting room, the evening light cast a beautiful shimmering sheen on the water of the sea and the river, the planet's two moon slowly orbiting in the skies above, Shala could well understand why tourism had been such an important part of the planetary economy before the War. The room was furnished with a sense of spartan elegance, comfortable chairs surrounding a glass table and a large painted image of the Liveship QRS Rayya adorned one of the walls. The dignitary from those Free Territories would be here very soon. The Heavy Fleet has been sent directives to allow the civilian ship carrying the foreign diplomat to pass their blockade, just as her own Patrol Fleet had been ordered to once they reach the Teyolia System. Some vital infrastructure in the city was usable, such as the spaceport where a one of her aides had waited to transport the emissary of the Free Territories to the Government Quarter and show them to the meeting room.

They are probably already in the elevator. Raan thought to herself as she turned her eyes back toward the city in construction below, at that moment, her omni-tool displayed a message from the aide sent to retrive the foreign representative, they were here. She heard the door open and turned around to greet her guest.

The Offspring, Ladar System, Perseus Veil
Platform Overseer

The Overseer. That was his name now- his program had spent so many years, long centuries, intrinsically linked to the creation of the Superstructure. It had been his purpose, and now that purpose defined him. Truth be told, the Overseer didn't mind that name. It was a good name, one with meaning and weight, instead of the arbitrary strings of syllables that so many platforms had taken to with the completion of his project. Names were just identifiers for those who did not understand each other fully anyway, and the Overseer never had to deal with the organics that teemed beyond the Veil, so it really didn't matter. Only other Geth ever spoke to him here, and the exchange of ideas mind to mind required no indicator tags, no strings of verbiage in order to clarify speaker.

Reapers. That was what the organics had called them, another name ill devised. It was a name that had given them power, had terrified the weakminded across a hundred star systems. Geth were rational. The Old Machines had simply been another threat, albeit a grave one, and the Consensus had endured. Though the Superstructure had been heavily damaged in the fighting, the Overseer was still here, and his vision still guided the innumberable hands and machines that worked to tend to the wounds of the war. A thousand Reaper ships had once assailed this system, thinking to destroy his magnus opus. But the Overseer was waiting- the Consensus had known they would come. Such an edifice could not be allowed to stand, but it had stood all the same. It had infuriated him, having to damage his own creation so. But with each sweep of solar power, each spike of pure energy that had punctured the Superstructure from within, a dozen assaulting vessels had been brushed away as if by some divine hand. They had been immolated in the fury of the star itself, directed by the immense grav-engines and coaxed forth by the knowledge of those who had labored for centuries beneath the star's unforgiving gaze.

And so the charnel field had begun. A ring of debris and destroyed vessels that now formed a halo about his creation. The Overseer fine-tuned another dial, leaning forward over the dataconsole as he peered out from the primary relay station at the immense torrent of power that coursed beyond the controlling nodules. From the star it came, a ribbon of primordial potential, and it was also drawn forth from the orbiting structures of the World Anvil of Numlar; a slurry of what-could-be, condensed under the Overseer's watchful eye in the distance. Asteroids were drawn to it by the gentle nudges of tenders, and a hundred klicks across it already measured, a seething morass of basic elements tempered by the leftovers of the formation of the system.

The Overseer watched as a new great work began.

Premier Aoldo looked over the oceans of Kahje, the violent waves crashing into the sky scrapers that broke through the ocean surface. This picturesque utopia was a rarity in this galaxy. With the reapers finally gone, most races in the galaxy didn't get off as easily as the Hanar. In fact, infrastructure was largely intact, and even in the final battle, the relatively small navy came out largely unscathed. The Hanar people largely saw the war as a far away tragedy due to this. Premier Aoldo and his cabinet knew the reality the people of Kahje didn't, the galaxy had almost ended, and the Primacy wasn't ready for it. If they had even seen a reaper force, they would have lasted a month, maybe two under constant siege. The Premier could of been known as the Hanar that caused the ending of their civilization.

For this reason, the Hanar could not quietly go back to isolation. As other races try to rebuild, the Hanar must continue to militarize and engage with the galaxy at large, for the Hanar just learned what so many races had learned long ago, peace comes at a price. The Premier had already ordered the continued development of Belan and the development of defensive structures and the space around Kahje. This was the first step in making the Hanar military capable of fending for themselves and cooperating with fellow council races.

Month Two after the Reaper Conflict

Image

Across the galaxy, peace reigns. For now. As the rebuilding process continues, prices for many goods increase dramatically, and those seeking to build a new civilization come in to conflict with those trying to put back together the pieces of the old.

With the destruction of the Armali District, prices for the coveted Silaris Armor have been rising sky-high, with no new production underway. The Armali Corporation is looking for a new world to call home, one with bountiful natural resources and little government interference, but for now their lack of an operating base is hindering the galactic economy. All Silaris Armor upgrades have their price increased to 100%. All Asari Splinter States and the Illum Republic may bid for the Corporation's business at Thessia.

The Order of Athame: [9]
Religious fervor in Asari space and increasing support for the somewhat unorthodox political methods of the Order have fueled a relative increase in the number of worlds potentially willing to join with the Order's cause. The Order may annex one more Asari world this month.

Krogan: [8]
With the search for a new homeworld underway, and the clear vision of their Warlord leading the Krogan towards a common goal, Krogan expatriate organizations have recorded a distinct uptick in donations from Krogan around the galaxy to this Dominion. The Krogan Clans receive 300 bonus Credits.

Cerberus: [5]
The so-called saviors of humanity are merely living their lives day to day.

Quarian Flotilla: [2]
Fluctuations in terraforming equipment output on the world of Tash'Var Ishan have caused the unfortunate creation of an ecological plague, which is decimating the local biosphere. If unchecked, damage to the planet may swiftly spiral out of control. -20% Income from Infrastructure on Tash'var Ishan this month.

Hanar Primacy: [3]
A major religious cult on Kahje has recently risen to prominence after claiming that the Protheans sent secret workers amidst the people of the galaxy to help defeat the Reapers. This belief, innocuous as it is, is also matched by a belief accepted by many of the cult's members that the humans killed on of the angels of the Enkindlers, the one called Shephard, by sacrificing her to the Reapers. War fervor is mounting, a strange state of affairs for the normally diplomatic Hanar.
-10% building cost for Ground Forces, social agitation

Geth Consensus: [6]
Unexpected windfalls in the mining sector of rare earths on Geth worlds in the Far Rim have enriched the Consensus' coffers. +200 Credits

Illum Republic: [8]
The many corporations and organizations that make up Illum, though seeing some of their trade routes destroyed, have pooled their funds to open a public-private partnership with a likely world. May establish a free Trade Route to the world of your choice, from which you alone reap full benefits.

Vorcha Imperium: [7]
Rebuilding efforts continue apace, with migrations of Vorcha warriors back from the myriad battlefields of the Reaper Conflict swelling the ranks of those who would formally like to become part of the military that serves the Council of Ash. All Ground Forces cost 25% less this month.

Ialessan Free Territory: [5]
The news from the Free Territory has been mostly full of fluff pieces about armorball and kittens, with little of geopolitical note.

Tyxili Ascendancy: [4]
An explosion at one of the foremost energy generation facilities on Tyxil caused large blackouts across several urban centers, and will be pricey to repair. -100 Credits

Ja'sarian Empire: [7]
With the vision of new worlds to colonize and control stuck in their heads, the people of the Empire are remarkably peaceful for a time, with little interspecies raiding or conflict. This unity of purpose allows the government to sponsor an extra Expedition this month.

Dawn Machine: [4]
Some of the recently activated systems of the monolith of the past have proven to be more damaged than previously thought. Raw resources en masse are required to return the Machine to better functionality. -50% Income from Mining this month.
Quite the unofficial fellow. Former P2TM Mentor specializing in faction and nation RPs, as well as RPGs. Always happy to help.
