Name: Comte de Saint-Germain
Age: Unknown - appears in his 30s.
Years in Purgatory: about 200 years
Occupation: St. Germain has applied himself to a number of tasks during his time in purgatory. He has composed many musical pieces. But this doesn't seem to account for the lifestyle he lives. He seems to have many contacts from all time periods.

Character Bio: Who is the Comte de Saint Germain? He acts aristocratic, speaks several languages, has skills in fields as diverse as alchemy, philosophy, science, art, and music. At times he speaks as if he is in purgatory by choice, as if he never died. Sometimes he talks about events that happened hundreds of years before he "died", as if he was there. He hints, but never outright states, that he has been everything from a Templar, to a member of the Bavarian Illuminati, a Rosicrucian, an aristocrat, an explorer, a dabbler in the occult. Is it the truth? Or mere fiction? Is this man sane? Is he mortal? Is he even truly the Comte de Saint Germain? Or just a cheap impostor....

Personality: St. Germain acts in all ways aristocratic. Well spoken, well mannered. He has a lighthearted manner. He generally keeps calm, but sometimes exhibits a darker side of himself. As if, just below his tranquil demeanour violent storms rage. He doesn't like to get dirty, and gets angry when things don't go his way, although he is skilled at hiding this.

How much do you Remember?: It is hard to tell precisely how much St. Germain remembers. Sometimes he acts like he remembers everything, but he is prone to say that he cannot remember a thing when questioned.

Likes and Dislikes: Likes: music, poetry, politics, art, science, the sound of his own voice. Dislikes: dirt, "barbarism", people who ignore him.

RP Sample: St. Germain adjusted the cuffs of his precisely tailored suit. His cravat fell from his neck like freshly laid snow. He walked briskly, efficiently. He had a meeting, and the Comte was never late. A beggar accosted him, but St. Germain merely had to glare, iron in his eyes. He had been in purgatory a long while now. He was known. Approaching the storehouse where the meeting was to take place, he took a handkerchief from his breast pocket, and used it to open the greasy doorknob. The door creaked open, and slammed shut after him. He dropped the silk handkerchief on the ground behind him. He waited in the shadows for his business associate to creep through the same door.
"Ah, my dear boy," St. Germain said, emerging, "Well, I got you message. What is it I can do for you?"
The husk that greeted him looked up. "I need more materials."
"Ah, but of course. You magic dabblers. Always looking for more materials. What is it this time? Quicksilver again?"
The man nodded.
"I can get it for you, of course, but it won't be cheap. Even for a man such as me, there are risks. Dr. John Dee, he had a theory about quicksilver, you know. And its magic properties. Fool that he was. Turns out he was right I suppose. He always was a lucky, that one. Did you know he was the man behind Shakespear? He didn't write the works himself, you understand, he had Francis Bacon to do that for him. Pah! Templars, the lot of them. Always holy grail this, and philosophers stone that. They had no idea about true power. Mon Dieu, where was I? Oh yes, the quicksilver. Yes, I can get it, but it'll be costly."

"My dear friend, you know me. I don't take money. My trade, as ever, is secrets."
short summary: St. Germain appears on the surface to be a normal 18th century French aristocrat, but who is he really? Appearance

Character Bio: Edgar lived out most of his life in the tiny community of Estill, Kentucky. The son of a coal miner; Edgar was the 2nd child of a family that would grow to 5 children. His father wasn't a good man, it was almost a cause of celebration should he not come home to yell at someone, but Edgar felt that he did what he could to provide to his family and admired his perseverance. Foregoing what limited schooling Estill offered Edgar joined his older brother and father in the family trade by the time he was 8. He began with small odd jobs but as he grew older and stronger he joined them in the heart of the mine.

Years went on with little variation until Edgar developed wanderlust and desired to marry. Having saved what he could he ventured off to the town of Lexington to find a girl to call his own. Early attempts weren't fruitful to say the least due to a number of reasons but eventually he found a partner in Janine Avery. It was an implausible romance, Janine was initially only amused by him as she saw his dogged determination despite any actual talent at it. After a while she and him began to talk conversationally and over time it progressed to friendship and more. It was going well until the relationship came to the attention of Janine's mostly absentee father: Patrick Avery. Patrick, a big fish in a small pond due to lucky investments wanted better for his daughter than some miner in a town that wasn't on most maps. He demanded Edgar stop seeing her. He refused. As did she.

Before Patrick could do anything drastic the two eloped to Estill. Janine became the new schoolhouse teacher and Edgar returned to working in the mine. While this time as a boon time for Estill and Edgar; Patrick found himself on hard times as eventually his luck dried out and his wealth shrank and shrank. Using the last of his money Patrick eventually tracked them down and tried to have Edgar killed. He intended to manufacture a cave in in the mine to bury him alive but before he could compile the materials Edgar's youngest brother spotted the man snooping around and alerted them. Janine told Edgar not to do anything drastic but he wouldn't listen and ran off to confront him. following what his brother said Edgar eventually stumbled upon Patrick and demanded him to leave. he refused.

It kept escalating and escalating, eventually Janine found them and tried to mediate but there was no reasoning with him. Slowly losing it Patrick pulls out a snub nose revolver and aims it to shoot Edgar on the spot, and indeed fires. But the bullet instead kills Janine, who jumps in the way. Edgar goes into a panic trying to resuscitate her while Patrick backs up in horror. When he realizes it was useless Edgar flies into a rage and pounces on Patrick, raining blows on him. In the scuffle Patrick tries to fire the gun again but only grazes near Edgar's left eye, partially blinding him.

People near by, having heard the yelling and now the gun shots, rush inside and pull Edgar off the blooded mess that is now Patrick, it taking nearly 5 people to pull Edgar from the man he nearly beat to death. Edgar was never the same after that, he shut himself off from everything beyond work.

Edgar finally died at the age of 34 in the mines, he wandered in one shift and never bothered exiting, he was found dead deep with in the mine, having succumbed to fumes and ran out of air. Wither he got careless by not taking proper precautions or committed suicide wasn't specifically detailed

Personality: Edgar is like the mountains he used to tunnel into: Resilient. A hard man who lived a hard life in a miner's town in Kentucky. He tries to be measured and controlled, after all it takes a strong will to do the work he did, however he finds him self prone to fits of rage. Under his tough exterior there could live a better man, but his upbringing, both from working and lack of formal education, horribly stunted him. The loss of Janine weighs heaviest on his soul and despite the associated pain has used it to anchor himself to his name even when things seem fluid.

How much do you Remember?: While he knows his name and where he is from, he has difficulty holding on to other aspects of his history. What he does know, possibly beyond any thing else, is that he lost a person he loved named Janine and he uses this as a jumping off point of other memories that might be related.
