Yeah. We lost our 40 RPers, by the way.
And I fucked up the UIA chat.

Dearg Due: beautiful young woman who commits suicide when forced into a marriage and then rises from her grave to seek revenge by killing her father and husband
That's not a vampire, that's more like a zombie or ghost coming to take revenge.
Get your facts straight.

Please dont take your definition of "Dearg-Due" from the wikipedia page called "VAMPIRE FOLKLORE BY REGION":

Except you know....the term literally means "red-blood sucker" and its under a heading called "Vampire folklore". I dont know how much more of a confirmation that it means vampire.

Yet it was never really clearly defined as a vampire.
Again, a vengeful ghost.
Which is not a vampire?

1) The Dearg Due is a SPECIFIC STORY of a SPECIFIC PERSON. In said myth, the suicide of the beautiful woman and she rises back from the grave. She is called The Dearg Due because she bites her father and husband, and drinks/sucks their blood from their bodies (killing them).
2) The reason that Lugh uses the term "dearg due" to describe vampires is because it literally means "red-blood sucker" in Gaelic. Something common that vampires do. Vampire is a more modern term, and Lugh isnt exactly a modern person.
3) The other two vampire folklore stories cant be used as generic terms because: Droch-fhola is much broader than dearg due (meaning evil-blood) and Abhartach is a named ancient tyrant.
4) Vengeful ghosts in your mind are considered banshees or sluagh (restless dead).
