I wear teal, blue & pink for Swith
There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears, and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination.

PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
Character Name: Nathan Baker
Character Gender: Male
Species (nation personification, human, alien, etc): Human
Age: 24
Appearance: Nathan usually wears a plain t-shirt and jeans. He wears sneakers, if anything, for shoes. He has brown, curly hair (sort of like this). His left eye is green and his right eye is blue. Nathan is somewhat muscular and his face has a bit of stubble and a short mustache. He has a small tattoo of a skull right between his wing-bones.
URL to Character Picture, if any: Here
Primary Objective: To function in this society as best he can while he is there
Secondary Objectives: To get back to his home and get on with his normal life again
MUNDANE SKILLS
These do NOT require points. These are the average, daily things your character can do. Examples are "drive a car", "speak a normal Foreign Language", "play a guitar", "write poetry". Some mundane skills come from your bio and are freebie. A soldier knows very basic training (shoot a gun, basic drill). Medic, martial arts or sniper would be a Specialized Skill or Talent.
List Mundane skills here: Nathan can bake, speak basic French, play a trumpet, piano, drums, and clarinet.
SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND TALENTS
These are specialized skills that set you apart from the average person. You have 7 points to spend here. Examples are swordsmanship, sniper, coercion, piloting etc.
Ability 1 and Points Spent: Computer Coding (VBScript + Batch) (3 points)
Ability 2 and Points Spent: Coercion (2 points)
Ability 3 and Points Spent: N/A
Ability 4 and Points Spent: N/A
OPTIONAL SUPERNATURAL CHARACTERISTICS
You have 7 points to spend here on supernatural skills or abilities. Sonic Scream, Levitation, Spell Casting, Shape Shifting etc. Superman MUST have his kryptonite, so Restrictions are what can't they do with their power or what balances it. They can only use it when they genuinely need it? They can't use it for more then five minutes without serious side-effects? Some things are allowed without points. A pegasus has wings thus it can fly. A raptor is fast thus no points are spent in speed. These "natural" abilities should be listed in the character's description, however.
Ability 1: Teleportation
Power Level: 3
Strengths: He can go virtually everywhere
Weaknesses: Using it a lot is bad for his heart because it feels like speeding to the place you are going at 200 MPH and going down a great distance would be scary as hell.
Restrictions: He can only teleport to places he can see (or vividly remember with his eyes shut)
Ability 2: Invisibility
Power Level: 1
Strengths: Go places undetected
Weaknesses: Lightheadedness
Restrictions: He has to hold his breath while he does it
Ability 3: Healing Abilities
Power Level: 3
Strengths: He can heal non-fatal wounds anywhere on his body
Weaknesses: The area around the wound is very delicate, which is a weakness in itself
Restrictions: he can't make pain go away, so toe-stubbing is still a problem
MAGICAL OR SPECIAL ITEMS
List:
"The Valdis Pack" - a Cardomancy kit that he bought as a novelty gift for someone who moved away before he could give it to them. He doesn't know it's actually magic.
BACKGROUND
Education or Training: For coding, it was mostly a hobby that he taught himself. For coercion and such, he took 10 psychology classes at Stanford without officially enrolling.
Character Background/Biography: Nathan Baker was born in Minnesota, Canada on June 6th, 1992, but moved to California at the age of 2. His was generally normal until around age 10. He was getting a midnight snack one night and realized he was invisible. He gasped and suddenly returned to normal. As soon as he stopped breathing, Nathan turned invisible again. He tried to keep it a secret and learned to more or less control it. At 13, Nathan was walking home from school and really wished he was already at his front step. He shut his eyes for a second and was suddenly at his front step. Since then, Nathan had to deal with his two powers. Everything that happened until about age 22 was boring. He found out he healed quickly when he got some unimportant injury when it went away quickly, he put two and two together. At age 22, Nathan began crashing psychology college classes at Stanford, but realized he wasn't extremely interested in the subject. Meanwhile, he had taken up a hobby of coding and learned all the basics. His other hobby was baking. Then, at age 23/24, he suddenly found himself in the middle of North Warnborough. He was confused and annoyed for several hours, then decided to ask where he was. Nathan realized he wasn't on earth and asked for the nearest hotel was and they said he could stay the night. He left as soon as he woke up and headed off. Nathan soon found the building (which is where I intend to start my post if it's not an inconvenience).

IMPORTANT:
One paragraph that sums up your character. This paragraph is what we'll use on your player tab on the first page of the thread. This MUST be brief. Your tab will contain a link to your application so people will have full details
Character Name: Nathan Baker
Brief Description: Nathan Baked is just your average American citizen with supernatural powers.
Approved but I'll need more details for the "The Valdis Pack" before he uses it.

It shows you the future in the cards, but he lost the instructions. It's more of a conversation piece than part of any big story.
Also, are apartment listings random or do we choose them? If we choose, I want 8G.

Right! It's time for another one-shot OOC writing challenge! Today's challenge is pretty simple, but it's a good chance for you guys and girls to get a bit introspective with your characters and figure out what makes them tick in their day-to-day lives. The challenge is as-follows:
Write a brief description of your character doing something that's important to them. It can be whatever you want, but it should be something that they're doing alone, so the focus is on your character and his/her surroundings rather than interacting with other characters. The description should be in present tense and in the first person, and should be no less than 3 paragraphs - a paragraph being at least 3 sentences each.
Try to avoid excessive description and text-walls, and also avoid constant one-liners so the reader stays engaged through varied sentence and paragraph structure.

Challenge accepted, only I took the unfinished one-shot from a few days ago, tweaked it into third person, and posted it IC. Muahahahaha.

Swith Witherward wrote:And now... wow. This is fantastic, if you're curious about philosophy and which philosophers... do the damn story. You've explored the castle. You've made your choices. And here's what we know about you:
You're a pretty harsh judge; you agreed with the blackbird more often than the robin, and you're quite willing to declare someone irrational or say that they made the wrong decision.Sometimes you judge people harshly, sometimes you're forgiving; sometimes you're happy to declare someone irrational, and at other times you're willing to make allowances for them. You agreed with the robin and the blackbird about the same amount.
You value pleasure, but not at the cost of everything else - there are clear limits to how far you'll take the pursuit of enjoyment.
If you're looking to investigate some philosophers you agree with, there are a few places you can look. You could try David Hume, who agrees with you on the nature of desire. You, Socrates and Thomas Hobbes all feel similarly about weak will. You're on the same page as John Rawls about collective responsibility.
And if you want to challenge your opinions and seek out people you instinctively disagree with, there are plenty of them as well. You think very differently to Aristotle and Epicurus about whether desires can be rational. You disagree with Aristotle about weak will. And you and Max Weber are opposed on whether it's possible to be too rational.
