PL: The EPIC OOC - closed thread

Plot goals, powers, whether or not to be a mundane human or a Nation Personification...

EDIT: I'm concerned that my goals (eg: get married, find a house) are "too basic" for subplots, but I have no idea about what's really happening right now to sort of find a character that'll fit what's happening right now, rather than just try a multitude of "plot goals" and hope to find the right one.

We have a varied mix of tech, alien, supernatural, anthro, and mundanes. It's really your initial preference, although do take note what is no longer permitted and narrow it down from there.

Forgive me for cutting in but I thought I could add something. If it turns out that the "something" is really a piece of rubbish that is of no use whatsoever then oops, sorry.

Mundane characters do not have to be normal, most of my characters are crazy but completely human. Also, when it comes to character building, create a character you like and feel that you can post for, that you're not going to get bored of instantaneously.

This. Torii and Katya are both mundane humans. Torii has combat experience, and an amazing mind, which she uses to intern for raptors and develop scientific inventions. Katya is a skilled swordfighter and musician, despite seeming like nothing more than a bubbly rich girl.

I enjoy writing Torii a lot because she's really emotional and gets punched a lot by life. She's an underdog, and says and does things that I'd never do IRL. I love playing around with Katya because she's supposed to be a bubbly/fashionable rich girl, and that's just a huge contrast to me IRL. It's fun to try totally different characters.

I would argue that Audette is mundane, but she DOES have minor cybernetic augmentations. Haven't had her in a situation where she'd use them, though.

• As I mentioned before, please post every two to three days. Since there are only four characters in the story, it's unfortunately easy for a single player to cause a major stall. Please let me know ahead of time if you'll be unable to post for a while so that I can adjust the story. I realize that things happen and that's not always possible, but please let me know as soon as you can.
  
• I'm not entirely averse between IC chatter, but keep it germane to the story. It's OK to chat a little about what's happening ("Wow, he was very helpful to us!"/"That was an exhausting day!" "Oh, yes, I'm surprised/wiped out as well."), but if I ask for a conversation to be wrapped up, please do so.

The Martian Queen

Come to Mars! Sail the Grand Canals! Visit ancient cities! Talk to mysterious Martians! Join in the intrigue (and perhaps even the skirmishing) of the Scramble for Africa -- and all the rest of Victorian Imperialism -- set under the beautiful pink skies of Mars. Prior knowledge of Space: 1889 entirely unnecessary. The trigger event for this will happen relatively soon, so I'm opening this up for characters again. Because of the setting's background, all characters will work.

While everybody who helped with the explosion recovery did well, it seems like we need some more medical equipment. We seem to be missing stretchers and some sort of masks (maybe just dust masks, maybe we need self-contained breathing gear). Are there other pieces of mundane equipment the healers should have that we don't? Enquiring healer coordinators want to know!

* Noncombatant characters may come, just keep in mind that this IS the Fallout universe, and a Western. Gunfights and animal attacks will be frequent. Spying and info gathering may also play a good part.

And...shit, that's it, really. I mean, it's the fucking Wild West. Lawlessness is its charm.

Chivalry: A Fantasy Adventure

Jaegllan is in peril! The pretender monarch Harold rose to the throne after the supposed death of Archduke Wladislaw IV, leaving the land under the rule of a gluttonous and inept ruler. While barbarian hordes pound at the realm's doors, some say that the Archduke is not actually dead, and that Harold is really trying to claim power for himself. As barbarians raid the border, and Harold purges dissent from within, a single vagabond knight may hold the fate of the land in his hands, but without a band of merry companions, he can't hope to get far...

*note: Not a new idea, per se, just a development of my earlier fantasy story idea. Also, Imperial Drug Deal is still a go, as is Sonoran Justice. Speaking of Sonoran Justice, Audette and Katya are up; don't know if I'll use Katya, though Audette is definitely a go for Sonoran. Katya will be a go for Fantasy if it goes off, if not she'll be open for Sonoran or IDD.
