Torsi's Stories

-- Nekoworld: The Great Commonwealth-Ostresian War
This is a war/adventure/sci-fi story. Players find themselves thrown into a world inhabited by the animalistic Chimer, distant offshoots of Humanity created millenia before their masters' extinction. The Chimer, dwindling in numbers, wage their wars over control of the world's few cloning facilities needed to keep their races alive. Players find themselves in former Germany, in the midst of trench warfare and artillery strikes, as they find out the reason for the war, meet the forces in play in the war, and assist a rogue scientist in her escape from her unit and her escape to another world.

- Char: Audette

-- 1916: Twilight of the Tsars
The year is 1916. The Great War rages across Europe. While the plane and tank change the face of warfare in the West, the Russo-Torsiedellie War is characterized by lightning-fast infantry rushes across vast distances, raining artillery, cavalry charges, and deadly chemical attacks. Players awake in the field, caught up in the 8th Imperial Army's brutal march through Southern Russia. Famous among Torsiedellie Soldiers, and spoken of as a devil by the Russians, is the ghostly spirit of a fallen cavalry soldier of old, who has risen once again in service of his Holy Dominion and his divine Emperor. This ghost has unknown affiliation with the Stanislov Dynasty of Torsiedelle, and his ties manage to get him caught up with one of the most secret and brutal family feuds of the century.

- Char: Katya

-- Strike Witches: The Private Kelly Incident
Like Strike Witches? I doubt it. Like Kelly's Heroes? Also doubt it. I like'em, though. Now, Imagine Kelly's Heroes if instead of Nazis, the boys were fighting through a horde of belligerent alien monsters in order to ransack an abandoned French bank for sixteen million in gold?

- Char: Audette, Torii
- Featuring: Clint Eastwood and Donald Sutherland.

-- Fantasia Universalis

Brainstorming right now. High fantasy with family feuding, conspiracies, murder, love and drama, and lots of swordfighting and dragons.

- Char: Katya

I only got the one right now, been too busy to think up other ideas :p

Doesn't have a proper name yet, but it'll involve an alien character I have right now and trying to stabilize a machine/atomic age society that's on the brink of tipping into a genocidal war and destroy their species and possibly planet. WW2 level tech, xenophobic aliens, probably some fighting, and figuring out what the best way to save a planet might be.

Though it might be a bad idea, tbh. I haven't had the chance to flesh it out much or put much thought to it :p

I had a few other ideas, mostly based around recovering different things to help characters, but couldn't think of a way to make them interesting yet. :p

Alright, I've got Slo and Torsi's stories in the CoOP box. viewtopic.php?p=27514003#p27514003 Please contact them if you want in on the adventures. Please do NOT have your character sit around at the Building (tent city) the rest of the summer. Get involved in some fashion. Chat location threads do not belong in P2TM.

That same box has the outline for the Gates. A few basic rules...
DIRECTIVES FOR PLAYER RUN STORIES
  • Everything done reflects on Demens. If you go on a killing spree to satisfy your gorn addiction, you can bet a team will go in after you. It won't be pleasant. Your character will probably die (permadeath) by the Guardian's proverbial hands.
  • Teams are not to reveal their abilities, nor take any action that would draw the attention of the Enemy (Devourers and their agents), unless threatened with physical demise. Try to keep it on the down-low.
  • Teams may not bring back any living being, sophont or not, without Guardian (GM) approval. Some stories hinge on bringing back new characters. These have already been approved through Cer.

Cer's approved time travel for Sandy's Egypt story.

Any dimension visited will NOT be the same dimension as our Bielefeld home dimension. We don't have many characters from that dimension, however. I think it's basically Torsi and Bran's stuff, possibly Prim's stuff? Meh. Bielefeld is off limits.

Please don't abuse the gates in order to bring back potent shit. "I found a treasure chest worth millions!" and "I found a black hole gun!" will result in the OP upping the difficulty this fall. Don't be greedy.

Gate stories are encapsulated and move at their own pace. Time spent in another dimension won't need to calibrate itself to the Galli dimension or to other Gate stories.

The people running the stories are the GMs. Their word is law pertaining to their stories.

Have fun!

The stories sound interesting, I'll work on mine so its something that might actually be fun too lol, but I'll likely need to talk to people about it. hard to do when I'm abroad and unable to TG.

Though I did have the idea that if the rp I'm going to try running falls through I could try at least going through part of the story and setting I had planned here, through the magic of alternate dimensions, since time doesn't have to be synced up perfectly between them :p

Bugs, Like A Lot Of Them

Before I'm late to the party in proposing stories in the OOC :P :

    Bugland:
Lighthearted story involving collection of intelligent bugs for use as spies, along with anything else they have that is useful. Players will be sent to the Big Bug Apple (it's a regular apple), and start their mission from there. Where gang banging criks and hops infest the ghettos, bug police are crooked, and parasitic fungus is corrupting the ant youth. Intensity levels may vary throughout the story, but it shouldn't be too much at first.

Char: Romy (duh, like I have a choice)

    Trouble on the Home Front?:
Not sure about this one, I was thinking I'll do something that involves Romy more personally,l though I don't know what exactly it should pertain to, other than the Wilhelm Imperium would be involved somehow. Currently still pending for now.

Char: Romy

Ok, so I have a slightly controversial plan but here goes:

Could I send Oto back to Aquario for the Summer?

If not then that's cool but I was just sorta thinking it might make sense. I know it's a little late now but if anyone else's characters wanted to go back to their families or friends, they could do so. It would be like a Summer homecoming story.

Again, I understand why this might not be suitable but I just wanted to ask.

That sounds more like parking your character rather than actually doing something.

The idea isn't to separate characters on their own; the idea is to draw players and their characters closer. The current proposed stories are meant to have players run their stories with limited oversight, work as a GM themselves with players working as a team, not sit idly by with inane chatter, shopping sprees, or frolicking in a pond.

Actually...anyone up for sci-fi and mystery?

Unforgiving Cold

Players find themselves on a mysterious world, frozen over and ravaged by endless blizzards. Signs of a lost civilization are seen throughout, showing signs of abandonment, but where did the inhabitants go? Perhaps offworld, to escape a never-ending winter that had fallen upon them? Perhaps extinct from some war? Likely, as radiation can be detected all around, and yes, there's also something otherworldly about the place. There is an unsettling presence, as if something is still alive on the surface, and what is found underneath, in the metros and sewers of the world's cities, hold a great deal of information about the world's past.

- Characters: Torii, Sozewe, Audette

An Imperial Drug Deal

Something fishy is going on in the Outer Rim, more so than usual. The Spice Trade has always been lucrative, but now rumors of government trafficking of the drug have sprung up, and this has everyone suspicious. Between illegal smuggling, corrupt admirals, and a whole mess of other dangerous run-ins in the criminal underground, even a Force User would find themselves in a pinch, but finding the truth, bringing justice...and receiving a hefty payoff for it...might just be worth a few hypserspace jumps and cabaret shootouts.

Characters - Sozewe

Kind of not wanting to push, but Harker's asking to Volker about the details of furniture or things that the tents provide inside it.

You speak a lot of sense Min. What if I change my plan a bit? I could make a music-based story instead where characters can play music at a festival in Spain. The goal of the story would be to improve characters' social and musical skills.

The main building would be a hotel where the characters could stay at night and there would be stalls and rides and stuff.

Would it also be ok for me to have Aquario appear at some point? I feel like it's important for Oto's story. I'm cool with creating a character description for him if need be.

I think I'd like to throw Rmwtyliin into the Unforgiving Cold. And Slobo, I take it that Nick the cat can get away with a non-humanoid appearance? :P

Will start plost once this post is submitted.

I do have a story idea - basically, visit the setting of a pretty engaging (hard) science fiction book to grab exotic material and unusual flora/fauna, latter explicitly for Demens - which I'm getting sorted out. Serious help, probably cultist-level, would be needed to permit not only carrying out the mission but also survival; the world isn't hostile to life per se, but would kill all but the most potent of our characters without protection - even Turtleboss.

Informally asking, is anyone interested? I know I'm not being that descriptive; it's intentional. I want you to be surprised and delighted as chars explore the world.
Come to the light side.  We have teamwork, waffles, popcorn, grape juice, and way too much ramen.

Unless one is a genealogist, therapist, geneticist, or FBI agent - who is acting within the scope of their job - to claim that anyone is wrong about their own identity is not merely absurd but also extremely rude.

Oh, all right. :P Yeah, I probably should have added a "or looks cute and harmless" to "looks human".

Fvaarniimar wrote:Informally asking, is anyone interested? I know I'm not being that descriptive; it's intentional. I want you to be surprised and delighted as chars explore the world.

I understand. That's why I'm being coy about the story for Amanda. There's a trigger event I'm waiting for in order to start it. After that, the story's outline will be clear, and I hope entertaining.

As to your adventure's world in general, could you tone it down a little? Even survival requiring heavy mundane protection or lots of magic is a lot easier to work with.

Basically, lots of magic or ultra-FT is what's needed. Eiasiest survival method is transformation into something that can survive, hence cultists hypothetically being helpful, and some alteration to perception is needed to be able to find the stuff being looked for. (Turning into the future-native sapients could work, but be complicated to RP. Really complicated.) As for toning down the setting... The issues are absolutely integral to the nature of this world, and I'm not the world's inventor, just someone who found it beyond cool; in fact I plan to grab the book from the library (to reread and for reference) post-lunch.

Also, Maghrl and MLPs look cute and harmless, but they'd really stick out in Ancient Egypt! ;p Cats, on the other hand, appear in Egyptian murals, I think grave decoration, and, well, as a deity.

Avoid Cultists, emphasis on avoid. Cer and Swith, the PL staff in general are doing other things this July, having to look over and commit Cultist or other heavy tool mode characters would take time and a lot of weary eyes. Avoid it, this is meant as players running, not staff saving the day or carry the bulk load.
