WAIT! Don't do it! There are plenty of things you are yet to experience!
Like, one of mydungeonsroleplays!
Look, I had many arguments with G-tech. I had any arguments with many people on this site. Everyone's arguing about random things left and right, this is the internet after all.
I argued over elusive airships, tanks crossing jungles, invincible ironclads, metal jackets and even grain. F#&@ing Grain...
None of it made any sense to argue over, in retrospect, but people tend to take things too personally.
General Advice, don't take anything personally. I might disagree with some people's views, including G-tech (damn you G-tech for exploiting all the loop-holes and sweet talking your way into OP secret projects) but if he was to take issue what something in my roleplays, its not an attack on me, or anyone else. Just because you disagree on something shouldn't make you hate each other. Well, there are sometimes a few people who would attack you, rather then what you believe or something roleplay related, but that's what the mods are for.
Also, one more thing. We need people with different views. We need fascists, communist, libertarians, christians, jews, muslims, bronies, bikers and bisexuals to make for interesting roleplays. There are few things more fun then wars over religion and ideology, save for motorcycle gang crushing the skulls of those annoying little magic ponies beneath their tires...
I mean, imagine if everyone thought like you. Who'd play the bad guys? Of course, everyone thinks that the other side is playing bad, but that's the best part.

I love those kinds of RPs, but they are the most tiresome to run. Pioneers, Babylon, Neonscape, pretty much everything requires your attention. Sometimes I can't wait for someone to post so I can reply, but if I log on and there are 5 - 10 unresolved post, and people are complaining about delays, things start falling apart and I lose morale, until I just give up. I'm thinking maybe it would be worth a try to do these live, through voice chat, so the workload doesn't build up. I wonder if anyone would be interested in that...

I thought the setting, particularly letting folks build their own research and mechanics, was a solid concept, but we never got very far despite the potential of “Earth starting FTL travel”. Thoughts on how it could be changed to be more viable?

It was too slow to get off the ground. I've always thought you and Harkback had this weird fetish for making people start with nothing, which discourages many people because they want to run their faction a certain way but end up being restricted by their limited resources. If you gave everyone a solid base, as in Major Corp level, and made Advancements either easier to come by or more efficient so as to give players more actions to play with, things would have progressed much faster. And then, of course, the whole thing with Dragos pretty much killed it IMO.

Hmm. Interesting take. Usually I hear complaints about too much complexity and too many choices, but you think the opposite was the problem?
I tend to start folks out slow to make RPs accessible to even those not overly familiar with how mechanics-based RPing works. Hark does the same, usually, but I wouldn’t call that a problem categorically. Too much choice drives people away as surely as too little. Even in the case of Cosmos, Britain felt they had made the wrong decisions, out of a very limited set of possibilities, and so effectively quit.
