No, that was my major lightbulb. I'm just waiting for feedback. Our power couple has been busy. :p

Don't look at me. The only power I have is the power to make him fix coffee in the morning, and that's only because the coffee is out of reach.

And the cereal. And the drinking glasses. And a host of other stuff. Except rice and dog kibble. That's in canisters in a lower cupboard.

I used to buy blocks of Parmesan and Romano cheeses. I don't do that whole Kraft fake grains in a green canister thing. So, when I first moved it, he gave me hell over the cheese. "Who eats that much?", basically. When it comes to rice, I'd always bought the Minute stuff, in what I thought was a large box. 14oz was a lot of rice for me!
Image

And then he comes home from shopping and he's lugging this massive pseudo-woven bag. The thing was huge! 20 fucking pounds!
Image

That doesn't last the whole month. It used to take me 2 months to use up my paltry 14oz "fake rice".

I'll add to that my misconception of meals. Hey, Asian guy likes to cook. Awesome! I'm going to be eating all the noms found in an Asian restaurant. Heaven!

Psh, hell no.

Breakfast: rice ball, one scrambled egg, dash of soy sauce. Sometimes there's broth.
Lunch: rice ball, small portion of leftovers from the night before.
Dinner: rice ball, something simple in the wok, or baked fish. Sometimes Miso soup.

And here he thought he'd be eating all the noms found in an Italian restaurant. Boy, what on earth possessed you to think I'd spend an hour or more making you lasagna?! That shit's expensive and time consuming!

Breakfast: an egg, toast (pre non-gluten days).
Lunch: tuna salad, or green salad.
Dinner: boiled or baked chicken, a veg, potatoes... or baked fish, or crock pot stew or chicken garden salad.

East vs West Food Expectations Level: Disappoint!

Apparently spring or egg rolls take just as much prep time as lasagna. There's even national borders we're not allowed to cross. He's not allowed to touch my stoneware baking dishes... made in Italy, not meant for cooking on top of the damn stove like a stew pot. I'm not allowed to touch his wok... made in Japan, I burned stuff in it, and then I scrubbed it with steel wool to clean the char out and removed all the 'seasoning'.

Who do I owe posts to?

My life is but a calm one.

But I will say this. Since my mom left around Thursday to go out of town, my dad and I have been the only ones at home. And pretty much every night, I find less and less food to cook. I've had Mac and Cheese twice now. There's no ham for a sandwich (looks like I'm making grilled cheese tonight), we're running out of eggs, and I haven't had a full three meals a day (only two). I guess my dad and I are just hard-pressed to go grocery shopping. I hate it. I hate it almost as much as I hate making the lists. Nevermind the fact that I'd have to take someone else's car there (mine's really low on gas) and I'd probably have to go by myself to pick up things for a family of four, myself included. Not to mention I'd need money too since I'm flat broke, and mom usually has all the money.

So we wait until today when she comes home and we get to go pick up more stuff. At least the house won't be a mess when she comes back.

AAAND I'm back, in more ways than one. That is, I spent the past 20 min or so refounding alts.

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears, and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination.

The fuck even happened to me?

I must have been running on fumes, because I was perfectly awake one second, and then I wake up about 20 minutes later having fallen asleep on my bed, jaw pressed into an awkward position on the mattress, and feeling as tired as a trainwreck. My jaw still hurts a bit, but I'm not tired anymore.
