I remember watching The Outlaw: Josey Wales and there was a scene where a bunch of Comancheros raided a wagon that passed through and killed the men. There was a younger girl in the back of the wagon and they did start to tear her clothes a bit but nothing ever happened. There was nudity, but I wouldn't call that porn. Well yes, but in porn crap is sort of built-into the design. Anything that gets in the way of the physics of it, which is what viewers are paying to see, gets stripped out (no pun intended). So, naturally, that means porn is the antithesis to complex plot, good character development, and generally anything productive except for sex. Well, if you count sex as productive, that is.

Having checked, I see that Bernardo Bertolucci was nominated for Best Director for Last Tango in Paris (1972). It's not porn per se, but has a lot of sex. So, it looks like there can be good porn... if you call it art.
