Seriously, even as a kid who didn't know any better, it always bothered me about how nearly all the characters in girls shows were shopaholics. It didn't strike me as "fun" or "creative", just greedy. If you nearly melt in ecstasy at the mere thought of having a chance at throwing your money away at stuff you don't need... I don't even need to explain it. I've been fine with the same pair of sneakers for two years, I have yet to get into a physical brawl with someone over a pair of high heels (I have seen that specific scenario multiple times in shows. The only people who had a legitimate excuse for doing that were Dorothy and the Wicked Witch.).
