Well, our illustrious OP is holding his baby girl and sitting by the window watching the rain because it makes her happy. I know it means a delay, but guys... awww. I used to be really bad about forgetting how the alarm clock worked during those moments in the morning, when my body would wake up and act without the brain. Here's a pair of examples.

The first is when I thought that the noise was coming from my radio, a small 80's radio that sits on my nightstand in front of my alarm clock. I continually tried to turn it on and off, and finally took it to the bathroom with me and tried to stop the source of my noise. It also happened to wake up my dad, whom was forced to waddle over to my room while I was in the bathroom and turn off my alarm clock.

The second is when my alarm clock went off and I tried the same thing for a few seconds: turn the radio on and off. But then I realized the following:

"Hey, the noise isn't coming from the radio! Silly me, it must be the lamp!"

So I spent the next 30 seconds trying to turn the lamp on and off to stop the noise until I finally realized it was the alarm clock.
