Mistletoe is the common name for obligate hemi-parasitic plants in several families in the order Santalales. These plants attach to and penetrate the branches of a tree or shrub by a structure called the haustorium, through which they absorb water and nutrients from the host plant.

Swith is the common name for obligate hemi-parasitic mammals in the online family Doomenfudgidae, belonging to the order Natonstates with behavior similar to a small nocturnal fox found in the Sahara of North Africa (fennec). These mammals attach to the cushions of a couch or chair by an as-yet-unknown process, through which they absorb the cushioning and leave behind an imprint of their teensy backsides.
