Nat: Night's always in some bizarre state somewhere between "intoxicated enough to kill a hair metal lead singer" and "annoying Mormon missionary sober".

Spanish jokes fly over my head unless it's pretty blatant.
And Argie Spanish is an incomprehensible mess for me.

Crappy Liri-made translation it is.
Tato Bores' 2000th monologue is one of my favourite Argentine comedy skits of all times. In that one, the renowned TV show host beautifully mocked over 30 years of Argentina's history.

Alright, gentlemen, 2000th monologue! Thirty years stuffing the script under the wig! Look... tonight, instead of going on a monologue on this week's news, this week we're going on a monologue remembering everything that happened in the past thirty years, and see if we learn something.
Gentlemen: back in 1960, when I showed my face for the first time before the orthicons, there was no colour television, there was no Maradona, there was no Austral... well, there's no Austral now either, but that's another story... there were no remote controls, there was no nonfat yogurt... but, yes, Mr. Álvaro Alsogaray (notoriously shitty right-wing Minister of Economy) existed! Yes, Mr. Álvaro, Maria Julia's (notoriously corrupt politician of the 90's) daddy! Although Mr. Álvaro began his tanning in the presidential cabinet as Ministery of Industry back in '55 with the Liberating Revolution, which had nothing to do with the Liberators Football Cup, only with president Arturo Frondizi did he become Minister of Economy. You see, before Frondizi, there were no Ministers of Economy in Argentina. Those with good memories claim that, back then, we had a bit of spare cash left in the Treasury, and so a little Secretary of Treasury was more than enough. With misery came the Ministers of Economy. What nobody knows for sure is if misery brought the Ministers of Economy, or if the Ministers of Economy brought the misery. The problem is that, for the past thirty years, we've simultaneously had both.
In those days, Mr. Álvaro gave us the famous gaffe 'We just have to live through the winter'... and the winters came time and time again, and spring came as well - the only thing that never showed up was the money -. During the 60's, the military began to show up at Frondizi's door. Truth be told, they first showed up on July 8th of 1958, but in just two years they paid him thirty visits. To think that, with Alfonsín, we've had two visits from the guys with the painted faces... just imagine what those thirty visits must have been like!
Anyway, the issue is that the fellas, in the end, kicked Frondizi out, and just when general Poggi was ready to take the presidency, Jose Maria Guido, also known as Jose Whereshouldisit, suddenly appeared. He made a per saltum, rushed into the Tribunals, swore himself president before the Supreme Court, sneaked his way through an interstice in the House of Government's door, sat on the presidential chair, and when Poggi finally turned around he said: 'Peekaboo!'
Guido brought along another great mind of the economic sciences: Mr. Federico Piñedo, who said we had to do things fast and, in just one day he managed a devaluation of 21% and drove the American dollar to the astronomical sum of 99 pesos 'national currency of legal tender'. Kids, if you don't know what a peso 'national currency of legal tender' is, ask your grandpa... but please don't make him cry too much.
Federico Piñedo eventually took off, offended by the criticisms he had to put up with for that devaluation, and then Álvaro 2 appeared... It was kinda like Highlander 2, Jaws 2 or Rocky 2. Since 'We just have to live through the winter' had become a cliché, Álvaro 2 invented something new. He invented the '9th of July Patriotic Loan Capital', also known as the 'Alsogaray bonds'. Those who got to keep them became filthy rich; those of us that couldn't, why should I even tell you? It's another story.
In the meantime the military, who had nothing better to do, decided to start playing soldiers with each other. They drew a line and said: 'Reds this side, blues this side, and the guys with the most tanks win!'
Us civilians, who had no say in the matter, and all we got was the occasional bomb that blew our homes up, felt quite calm, since both the blues and the reds said that all they were doing was for the well-being of the people and the salvation of our motherland. From that, one could figure out that the salvation of our motherland was in the hands of the guy with the most tanks, right?

I personally use my hands, as Indians tend to eat most things with our hands. In professional situations, I can use knife and fork.

Unless the crust is so terrible that it falls apart with a touch (or if it's way too hot to handle), hands.
