I promised you that Bran and Swith would hang out. But, when I tried, my character was pushed away because I was at work. Instead, it turned into this silly "they should catfight" stuff over Bran. I couldn't interact with Bran like the old days because you and Torsi started fast posting and that excluded Swith while I was offline. I did my best to set up "isn't this just like the old days?" on the airplane to Urran. But then my character encountered Torsi's jealous character and, as a player, I wasn't online when you guys were posting. I don't think you realize how often you've excluded me from your stuff simply because I wasn't online to post.
The BranRiech wrote:The explosion is the exception, the only major thing any of my characters have taken place in since Swith and Cer had Natiya and Aleki go in dressed as Gestapo agents. That was fun, that's something I'd do again in an instant. The thing is though, and like I always say, there's always better character suited for the job. People want something repaired, they either do it themselves or go find a tech-priest. People want someone to do something action-ey, they go for someone else.
You get where I'm going with that. If I don't fit into any adventures, I expect people to bring the adventure to me, when I post what a character is doing, I'm hoping that something cool will arise out of it rather than simple, boring conversation.(1)
And Swith, you're right about that, seriously, you are. I never liked leaving people hanging, especially if I want to wait for you but I get a "Is [Insert character here] going to get a response?"
It makes me feel obligated to post for them, leaving your character behind.(2)
I still want them to hang out, and I still want things to do from the OP's, because you all know what you're doing.

I actually have no idea, because I lost control of it awhile back. That's right, my puppet has become self aware and it might be plotting the robot apocalypse. God help us all.

Aks, Natiya left because she got burned, and figured someone else would do it, that's how I feel as a player as well, that when things are seemingly too powerful, it's not worth my time to stay and try finding a solution. She'd probably just end up sitting back and watching the others deal with it anyways.
It's a damn weed in the lawn.
To clarify: I don't know what Op-Front is. If it's tied to another nation, then no.
Strip away all the game context. The OP and Co-OPs have asked players if they want to join together to work as a team to help the game setting. Simple as that. The "city" (government) is and forever will be a personification of your OP and Co-OPs. But, it's also a sovereign state and, as such, it's not going to allow foreign militaries or governments in. Why? Basic: because we're trying to get the player involved and not the player's nation. You people honestly don't play Diplomacy well, and this is P2TM. It's a whole different skill set and knowledge base that comes from real world laws.
The embassies went the way of the dodo when players couldn't respect the spirit of that element. This isn't a Diplomacy thread. I have zero tolerance when it comes to lack of realism regarding politics and embassies. By rights, Torsi and Bran's nations would have been holding their flaccid cocks in their hands and begging for mercy as the world moved in to curb stomp them when they grabbed land. If you want embassies, you'll play them properly or fuck off. And that, Peeps, is how I address my players in Diplomacy.

Excuse me, sir. Seeing as how the V.P. is such a V.I.P., shouldn't we keep the P.C. on the Q.T.? 'Cause if it leaks to the V.C. he could end up M.I.A., and then we'd all be put out in K.P.

It needn't be that extravagant. It could be Bran (if he knows how) challenging Luce to a game of darts. It could be daring Chrys to dress up like Voldemort and follow Fortu and Monique around. It could be asking MB to watch Rachelle and Tolya for a day.

I would end up doing that, but I still have the feel that I can't go to other people for things. I feel like I'm intruding on them if I send a character to do something with them, worried that I'll overstep a boundary or something. It's maddening, but I always feel like I just can't approach anyone.
Aeten, that's because you post about once a day. We shouldn't need to conform to you, and you shouldn't need to conform to us. You write yourself into a corner by only interacting with Swith and Ceril, who usually have limited time to be on. You've downright ignored other people who approach your characters for some reason, even if they stated so in the OOC, as I've done twice.

Go ahead, blame the guy who's been suffering from severe internet problems for nearly a month. That post was supposed to be two pages back, FYI.

I'd love to have Volt interact with some of the normal characters, simple for the hilarious disparity between the two beings would make for some funny situations. The problem though is that there's two 'groups' in this RP, and feels like there's two separate RP's. Tilt, Swith, and NVE bridge the groups, but, me, Ceril, Bones, Swith, Tilt, NVE, and some of the newly joined chaps fit into one group, where our posting rates only allow interaction with each other, and trying to do so with anyone else demands time from our hands in order to simply keep up.
Then there's everyone else, which include Urran, Tori, Bran, NA (although he varies as well), etc. There's two distinct groups of people in this RP, and it's getting annoying how this is essentially several separate RP's mashed into one with very little order.

/voiced concerns.I don't think it's an issue of rapid posting rates, but an issue of participation. Some individuals just aren't on PL very often, not to nitpick. Those that are post at what I feel is a normal rate for the amount of time they spend here. You're the guy who has tons and tons of characters, and yet they don't show up ever again after a few weeks (with the sole exceptions of Volt and Ozzall).
I have one character that I use on a regular basis, and another who is more of a story-helper. Then there are more that are more casual in appearance and aren't listed. I do this because it fits with the basis that I post on: I get involved in what I feel is appropriate, and post varyingly. From what I've seen of you, you've got a lot of cool concepts but you don't always see them all the way through. When you do come in, I don't know how to interact because you just aren't posting very often.
Also, in my opinion, it's important to remember that this is very much a casual RP. There isn't a need to make several paragraphs consistently, and it isn't much trouble to get your character grounded into a mini-story and make double or triple-paragraph posts (at least for me) in regular responses.
Last minute edit: Also, goodnight to Bones and Branny!

As for Torii: she's a teenager. She doesn't like being under the city government, when she's still used to doing things her own way, or the way she would under her own. She also didn't like hearing that they were watching the apartment dwellers. Even under a dictatorial leader, she wouldn't expect to be watched much.
As for supernaturals...she's more jealous, or angered, but she doesn't hate them. It will occasionally manifest in anger, or she'll later realize she overreacted. She's seen a bit of Chaos, and she doesn't like them.
She's like that one redneck that "hates" blacks or Latinos, but has a few black or Latino friends. The one that's like "I hate those n***ers, but you're alright for one. No offense."
Damn it, I don't know if I'm saying this well enough. I'm used to all that there colloquial speak.
