He eased into a chair and tapped a cigarette from its pack.

"Natiya Nikanor. A pretty name for a pretty creature. By any chance, do you hail from the BranRiech?"

The match flared and he breathed his cigarette to life. Grindle studied the girl through a thin cloud of smoke, noting her bright expression and clever eyes.

"You nation isn't bad as far as dictatorships are concerned. Your people are certainly hospitable," he waved the match out.

Bran communicated over the radio to the gunners seat of the Hind shaped craft, the only real difference being the twin blades instead of just one rotor
