Anyway, Question for the UCBR, what was the idea/inspiration behind making a nation of space bunnies?

Y'know, I get this one enough that I should really make like a factbook for it and link to it, haha. But I'll post the quote for now anyways.

My main reason for deciding on them is pretty three point. First off is the fact I enjoy using Earth creatures as a base for alien races. Almost all alien races you see are just three eyed bipedal humans who inexplicably have the same social structure and cultural trends. Basing my scifi races off of Earth animals allows me to use their IRL tendancies to make unique cultures and social trends, and gives something familiar for the reader to latch onto. Secondly, My last nation was a race of scifi felinids who had a primarily carnivorous diet thanks to a desert homeworld, and I wanted my next nation to be different from them. Thirdly,
I just am a fan of rabbits. I think they look nice.

A1. Yeah, I have to say my favorite game has to be obviously Generals and its expansion, Zero Hour. Primarily because I like America, and the uniquely funny, if insensitive, parody of the modern day it illustrates.
A2. Sometimes, I do. My pitch is that if you're into the classics of RTS, like wacky and zany gameplay mechanics alongside some pretty casual lore, then you can pick between the specific games of the franchise and have fun with those.
A3. It's mostly down to a few people, really. There are a lot of people who think she's hiding something due to her abrasiveness and overzealousness when it comes to her false personality, and I have to say, the largest group of people suspicious about Kanata has to be her opposition in mainland Japan, who maintain their beliefs that something's wrong about the woman they chose to be the leader of the Alliance. And her true personality is secret to the rest of the world, but not-secret when it comes to her associates/military staff, i.e. Townes, Suvorov, and quite a few of the PPA-PF's military staff. Though there is an EU General who knows what she's up to but supports her anyway.

1. I used a website called Canva. It makes visual design dead easy, though it's not too flexible. It's good not so much for ingenuity as for convenience.
2. I really don't know, sorry. I don't want it to read super dry, but I'm having trouble thinking of how to avoid that with the current framing device. Maybe an academic press wasn't the right framing device. I'm also going back and forth on what I want Liagolas's history to be. Do I want this to be a totally isolated story, like Liagolas has been like this since precontact and came up with hyper-nationalism all on its own? Or do I want a colonial story where Europeans import their own nationalism, and then some indigenous resistance movement co-opts nationalism, only for it to go off the rails and become hyper-nationalism?
3. I wish I knew. I feel bad using something with no provenance, but no amount of searching has turned up an origin. The image is used all over social media and blogs, but I can't figure out where it started.

1. The flag design? I just drew some shapes, said "hey that looks good" opened up google slides, slapped some shapes together and said "yeah...yeah she looks nice..."

It began with a single idea, and it ended with a flag.

2. Name? well...I mean, I tried to find something that sounded like "America England Austria" but they all sounded trash.

So I just kinda sat staring at the stuff and just was making words from the letters when I cam across Aerlanica

Once again, from one idea came a name that I'm happy with. it also sounds kinda nice when said correctly.

Pardon me if I've asked this one to you before SP, but what's the meaning behind your flag? It's honestly one of the most striking, unique, yet simplistic flags I've seen on NS in a long time, and it just generally looks very nice. IT has an almost star trek vibe to it, which is very neat.

It's an edited Soyuz 10 mission patch. I simply thought it's neat. Tbh, I also think a lot of the Soviet space badges are really "striking, unique yet simplistic", less is more one could say. I think NASA badges really over-do it with the details, to the point they're hideously over-decorated, yes this includes the cheesy Eagle on the Apollo missions, imo. But the earlier Mir/Soyuz/Interkosmos badges are just right. I didn't think about Star Trek but considering how the SP like to loophole around a Prime Directive, it'd be a funny thing to relate to.

Considering the people of Air Fleet are alien Stakhanovites who enjoy buttons, pins, badges and medals...aesthetics could be caricaturesque if not a bit fitting if I dare say.

Weapons in Soviet Progonya have two purposes: eliminate enemies (both inside and outside of the state) and basically to look scary so less people think of becoming traitors. There are weapons that use a person's ARCANE as a fuel, so for example someone might not know any way to harness their ARCANE on their own but anyone could use a flamethrower or a gun that automatically harnesses it and uses it as a fuel source for them. The type of ARCANE tech ranges from creating fire/heat/electricity though the use of ARCANE, to stuff like adding "effect" to bullets like making them target a certain person (wtf magic aimbot????) or poison damage or explosion on impact. Bigger stuff like going outside or mass surveillance has ARCANE used for it as well by a specialised small number of people. Soviet Progonya does have enemies, presumably other groups outside it, but tbh I haven't come up with any of them yet.

The origin of the name IRL is that I completely made it up on the spot when I had to pick a name for my nation. This was before I even had an idea what I wanted to do with it.

The origin of the word in-universe is that it comes from the word Zelor, which means "Everyone" in the Zelorian language of Space Esperanto. Its to show that Zeloria isn't really a nation anymore that defines a people or geographic area, but that it is for everyone.

1. The one where Aikoland was a brutal totalitarian Catholic theocracy, if entirely because it was something different than what I usually do (with nations that I actively use, I do have some other nations that are meant to be evil, but I don't actively use them on the forums). None of my old canons are really cringeworthy, I just felt like there wasn't really much world-building I could do with them or I just got bored with the concept. Gandoor hasn't really had any full retcons tbh, outside of like retconning the existence of Likah (a Gandoorese overseas territory). I mean yeah Gandoor's canon back in 2010 is totally different than how it is now, but I consider that different from me completely restarting Aikoland's canon a few times, it's more me refining and rewriting aspects of Gandoor as I matured and got better at writing (for lack of a better term, I'm aware it's still not amazing). The base concepts of Gandoor more or less still exist from all the way back then.

2. It's a promo image of Ace from the 1988 Doctor Who serial Remembrance of the Daleks. And Hell yeah it'd say it's worth watching, both Doctor Who in general and the Remembrance of the Daleks serial in specific. The show is legit one of my faves and the serial is one of my top 5 stories in the entire run. It's ace.

You probably get this a lot, but how did you come up with a nation of rabbits and the lore for it? Also what's the symbolism of the flag?

The lore is sorta just me going off whatever I want. There's no real inspirational body for it, I just sort of fill in the gaps as I go with stuff that makes sense, and it usually works out because I have like eight thousand years worth of history that actually matters.

and for the symbolism.
The five pointed star represents the four Atis regions that joined the UCBR, and The Council that rules over them. The carrot, or deeproot as the actual plant on Atis is called, is the symbol for The Cult of The Allfather, as the Allfather rescued his followers by commending they retreat into a deeproot farm underground as the bombs fell on the surface. The Shovel and Pickaxe are the symbols of Burrowism, the communal system that the UCBR uses, and they represent the tools of the working class, who most often are the ones to dig out and expand the Burrows. The gear represents both an aura of purity around the symbol following their unification of their planet, as well as the growing industrial base that the planet has seen. Finally, the two stripes at the bottom represent the two bodies of The High Council.

Also the color meanings are important, because Atis creatures glow for communication, and the colors mean something in that communication. Purple means endurance, strength, preserverence, and independence, and is usually given by creatures seeking to outline that they are dangerous and not going to go down without a fight. Yellow, and in turn gold, meanwhile represent comfort, kindness, generosity, and community, which show that even in their strength the UCBR tries to stay a community.

1. Yeah, I'll admit that's something Bassaine would never actually do, I just thought it'd be a bit of fun!
though, if you want, it could also just be a last minute fantasy of Euphrosyne's before she gets married off...
2. Hmm... Well, while not directly, I will say that she's somewhat based off of a situation someone I once knew went through- though, I suppose that'd have to be more regarding the dating of a very sad person while having less than pure intentions, and less to do with the whole... murder and whatnot sort of stuff.
3. Definitely a toughie! Uhm... I don't really know, honestly- it feels sorta like picking between two children, who both want to be your favorite... I suppose it depends on what my mood is though- Ilitu definitely is funner to write grand slamming and regretful, while also having what I'd consider a greater capacity for comedy, but I'd say Euphrosyne also is very nice to write when going for a kinder and more pained perspective, or when attempting a more human point of view... In the end, I don't think I could ever happily arrive at a decision, but I will say that I've recently been in more of a mood to write Euphrosyne.

A) Thank you for the compliment. As for the symbolism the general shape of the image is supposed to represent the head of a phoenix. In general phoenixes are symbols of hope change, and rebirth, three elements that FenexOrg seeks to embody.

BN: No problem, I do like these sort of questions! Ahh, right. So... a couple of things happened:

- When I started writing about The Sixty, most of the inspiration came from Overwatch and to this day, there are still some characters that still needs to be unique instead of being blatant ripoffs, not just the face but their concept and lore, too. So that aside, Tracer was one of them, and she became the "Tracer though... not really. In a way." She has the looks, some of the personalities, but she is my take on how she might be like. If Blizzard went after me, or I thought of publishing (though unlikely, since I like to do it as hobby), I do have another look for her that doesn't really rips the appearance of an existing character.

- She is a cheerful and happy character and that really fits Val Z's aesthetics. Also quite adorable in my eyes. ♥

- Time powers, ohhh yes. At first, it was just her from Overwatch with buffed powers, but eventually, I played around with the idea of her being outside of space and time and here we are! I like the concept and games whereby you make time bend to your will.
