Given that the /skips have become too rampant and my post might be lost... still me, right here.

Due to the nature of the Valentian names, the gravestones are sometimes too wide, or has to have the names shortened with many, many dots.

Carlos' second son, Manuel, ascended to the throne on 1 February 1908, and two years later, his kingdom fell into a revolution. While Portugal was an ally of North Germany, The North German Government's immediate response -other than letting Manuel escape Berlin to live in exile- was to invade Angola and Mozambique, Portugal's two African Colonies, and "advising" Netherlands to do the same to Macau. The North German Government originally declared that this was done "only to secure and pacify unstable regions", and that The occupied colonies "would be returned to their motherland once order has been restored", but did nothing to help restore said order. Maybe because it was busy dealing with South Germany, Bohemia, Russia, and Britain in The Great War (started in late 1907).
By 1911, the new Republican Portugal announced that it had "pro-British" sympathies (as opposed to the monarchy, which had been strictly under North German Sphere of Influence and one of its allies). Two weeks later, the 125,000 men strong North German Expeditionary Force to Portugal was knocking on the gates of Lisbon.

I mean, given the unpopular nature, I can see why he got chopped. Condolences to the King, still, but... ah wells.

To be fair to Manuel, he at least ruled for two years before... you know, ending up with a revolution the very next day. :/

Overall, it just seems like one bad time after another, and your nation's response was a little... weird, if I say so myself. Your neighbor's kingdom fell into a revolution? Invade two other countries!

New Transeurasia uses many different electric systems. A 240 V AC 60Hz system was built in the 1930s and 1940s in much of eastern NT at the time. Type J plugs are used there. In Karafuto Province, a 100 V AC 50Hz system is used, much like in Japan. In the american provinces, 120V AC 60Hz is used. Types A and B plugs are used in the north american provinces, while only type A plugs are used in Karafuto Province. In eastern New Transeurasia, a 220 V AC 50Hz system is used, with type I plugs being used. In Siberia province around Vladivostok and its surrounding areas, 220 V AC 60Hz is used with type C and type F plugs used. In Baluchistan Province and Afğanistan Province, a 230 V AC 50Hz is used with types C and D plugs. In the european provinces, a 220 V 50Hz system is used with types C, F, K, and M plugs.

That's both retardedly wrong and 100% irrelevant to what I posted. If you can't make yourself fucking read the posts you're responding to (enough to know wtf the post even is about), then don't fucking post on a thread that needs comprehension of someone else's text. Seriously.
And one more thing, stop responding to me on this puppet, on any other account, on this thread, on any thread, on this site, on anywhere. I will stop responding to you as well. We can continue a peaceful co-existence by pretending the other just doesn't exist.

Sounds like you have got a lot of plugs. Perhaps switch to one model eventually?

From factbooks:

''Tomism is a nationalistic, anti-capitalistic, pan-human, extremely jacobin, and anti-xeno political ideology, which refers to the current policies practiced by the Commonwealth. Difference between Tomism, and most of other nationalistic ideas is, that Tomism takes the fight worldwide, and comes with extreme interventionism, and decentralization. Due of the diversity of the Commonwealth, Tomism is interpreted in various forms by various regional governors, and sometimes is hard to pin-point down in a specific way. Some of the Chinese, and African warlords have used Tomism to promote their legitimacy as well. There are even national anarchist versions of it. However, planned economy, authoritarianism, conservatism, and nationalism are one of its base elements. Overall, a very syncretic ideology, and has lots of ambiguous principles. Sometimes called as ''more internationalist'' strain of fascism as well.''

We can go with the anti-capitalist to a certain extent, but for Valentine Z, we realised the error of the ways and maybe allows some limited capitalism. As for the anti-xeno policies... well, I can't really say for sure what drove you to such a thing, but I feel like you could give the innocent aliens a little bit of a leeway. :P With that said, we are pretty happy that you people found an ideology based on your leader. Hmm... should we have Clarissa-ism as well, for happiness and peace to all?

Overall, all of this explains and encapsulates why Valentine Z and Silver Commonwealth are like those two brothers that ended up being born by the same mom, but will always get into a fight or a quarrel on a daily basis, except that it's usually SC who started it, and VZ would just literally look down and hug his little brother.

Clarissa now has a house that is situated in some man-made island. It was meant as a gift from Valentijn to Clarissa, since after all, a big girl like her will need a bigger home. :P

Located on a piece of reclaimed land (approximately 20 km by 20 km in land size (400 km2)), a few kilometres off of Hawaii, it is isolated from the rest of the world, and it is connected with a bidirectional teleporter between itself and Valentijn’s home/White House back in Yangon. The house, designated as “Clarissa’s Lovely Home”, was a result of Valentijn and his friends doing it secretly as a part-time project, taking a few days as a result of Gwen slowing or stopping down time for the rest of the world while the crew moves along normally, unrestricted by Gwen’s time manipulation.

That’s pretty cool. A private island home is certainly a privilege and I can’t think of anyone more worthy of one than Clarissa.
Following the collapse of the United Kingdom, multiple things changed in the British Isles. Firstly, Scotland and Wales become independent entities, and Northern Ireland was absorbed by the Republic of Ireland. England, known as Angle-Sasseny, retained the Isle of Mann and Scilly but British Overseas Territories were lost to other powers. Strangely, however, the Falklands remain under Angle-Sassen administration.

The medical professions in Zitravgrad is seeing higher recognition than they used to be under the Kozavian Empire. Back in the days, doctors, surgeons, nurses, etc. were rather respected but did not earn much, since the practice of medical service for profits was seen in bad light. While medical careers offered some stability, they were very much overworked and usually faced economic difficulty whenever their country did. From time to time, staffs of certain hospitals had to rely on economic status their patrons -- usually one or more aristocratic families who built or owned the hospitals. This system soon collapsed and became one of the major issues after the Revolution. It was said: "It is not as if our doctors possess poor skills or knowledge, but rather that they were not well-paid enough to ensure them of their own survival, let alone that of their patients."

Thus, the new so-called "socialist" government began to open up about some "profit-seeking" in medical industry, perhaps a policy that is basically against most economic policies they were trying to implement. The state-run pharma put in much effort to boost its production towards profit-seeking abroad, while medical tourism was being promoted. Understanding that their citizens were still reliant on the government for the healthcare, the government knew that their so-called "free healthcare" had to be funded by something bigger than taxes. In the effort to reform the medical service in Zitravgrad, the government increased wages for medical staffs, repaired or rebuilt hospitals, invested in medical necessities and most importantly turned towards western medical practices. (The reason for the latter was probably due to the fact that the Cabinet filled with "Germanic Zitravgradians" (citizens with Germanic ancestors -- often middle-class academics) were replacing the Duchy Court of Kozavian-Zitravian aristocrats. This pushed the social and economic status of doctors and the related professions higher and provided them with more security and stability. But in the meantime, the Ministry also placed harsh punishments on bribery of medical staffs, malpractices and negligence of hygiene and safety protocols, and even made a further effort to replace many jobs with automation.

Sounds like that before the revolution, Zitravgrad's healthcare had pretty serious problems, just like Tsar's regime before Russian Revolution. Also, interesting to see Zitravgrad to moving away from its socialistic principles in such an important thing as health.

From factbooks:

Republican Crusader is an unit, which appears often in SC's science fiction, mostly about stories, which involve SC to an some extent - either as a background character, or the protagonist. It often operates in universes, where SC's triumph continues, and it goes into space, and often starts to attack capitalist, monarchist, and xeno nations on sight. Sometimes it also appears in a post-apocalyptic setting, either as a mercenary, or a part of the remnants of the government, which try to restore the Commonwealth.

Its weaponry, and equipment might differ from story to story, but it most often is a plasma knife, or a plasma, sci-fi sword, and an automatic laser rifle, and a power armor suit, or heavily modified marine armor, with at least two skulls - indicators, that the army is not ready to show either compassion, or mercy towards enemy. There are various kinds of Republican Crusaders - one is the human variant (a.k.a base variant), and second is a clone - a version similar to the human soldier, but more agile, and way easier to produce in mass numbers. It is mostly used in mass wave attacks. Third variant is a robot/AI soldier - Only non-human sentient lifeform, which is allowed to serve as a Republican Crusader. (Most of other species aren't allowed to serve in the Republican Crusader army. Non-sentient animals are used as an assist sometimes, especially in low-tech planets, though.) Physically stronger than a human, they are an incredible fighting force, but still vulnerable to EMP attacks, even light ones. Still, there is some kind of a creator-creation bond between SC's human, and robot soldiers.

As name implies, their primary targets are monarchist nations, and they are ready to all means, to accomplish their goal - airborne toxins, killer robots, etc. In fact, the war, that they wage, is no more conventional, but rather a war of annihilation. So, although they try diplomacy at first, most often they will pick a violent solution anyways. That said, they will not spare republics either - especially if they have alien population, are capitalistic, and/or democratic. Their hate against xenos is one of the things, which origins are still a mystery. One is clear, however - where there is a Crusader, there's war, and ruins.

Their training is often described as ''very harsh'', with various extreme locations, like ice, and sand deserts, high mountains, or even extreme climate planets. One of the last challenges is usually beating your opponent in a pankration fight - although not necessarily a fight to death, death is not uncommon in those fights. A fully trained Republican Crusader trains for at least 2-3 years. Those, who train less, are often assigned as far-distance aircraft pilots, or an assist force.

It'd be very interesting to see how they're spun as heroes in this sci-fi. I can already see the soft, plushy-looking Xenos organized in a nice, quaint lunar kingdom that is secretly some horrible slaver society. Gnarly.

Arnold Schwarzenegger in our world remained in Germany, and was equally popular in both countries. While his later life's film career, political career and most of his family funds were in Germany, his bodybuilding career brought him to the US in the 1960s. With Germany and the US viewing each other neutrally but with a sort of rivalry at that time, "Arnold the Hun" became a controversial presence, beloved for his general success but mistrusted due to his heritage. Notably, the South German bodybuilder actually wanted to assimilate as quickly as possible, but his decision to keep competing as a representative of Germany prevented that.
As his career as a professional bodybuilder was coming to a close in the 1970s with several world championships under his belt and after a (less successful than in OTL) Pumping Iron, Schwarzenegger decided to try his hand at acting. Babelsberg just happened to be more forthcoming than Hollywood, and so the Austrian returned to Graz, Austria, Germany. After string of highly successful films (In which he played main antagonists or significant henchmen as often as he did protagonists), his career was interrupted by the Civil War of 1994; He donated a significant portion of his built-up wealth to the Loyalist war effort, though in the end that side secured a comfortable victory and a lot of his donations were reimbursed.
Following the war, Schwarzenegger went into politics; Starting as an Austrian state representative, he later became the Minister-President (Prime Minister) of Austria in 2002. While running with the Christian Union at first, he found that they were very limiting to his agenda and created his own party, the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ). Dubbed early on as "political suicide", his pet project succeeded and he ended up with a plurality in the Austrian Abgeordnetenhaus (House of Deputies), allowing him to win two more elections before retiring in 2013. In 2015, his party concluded an agreement with Theodor Hartmann to support the National-Liberal (Now Liberal People's) Party on a national level; In return, the NLP has ceased fielding candidates in Austria and has endorsed the FPÖ in Austria.

So, he's basically the equivalent of Manny Pacquiao in the Philippines, when he became a cult of personality to the Filipinos the same way Arnold was to the Austrians. Both have political careers, both are well-known all over the world in their respective fields (boxing and acting), and both were born into poverty. Neat.

During pre-colonial times, birthdays were usually celebrated 3 months before the person's actual birthday (If a person was born in February 15, he would celebrate his birthday in November 15). During his/her birthday, a ritual ceremony was performed in which the celebrant would be bathed into a body of water and gifts were given to the celebrant by the chief of the tribe depending on his age (e.g: 18 years old = 18 apples; 25 years old = 25 mangoes, with the gifts usually being fruits and crops, but on rare occassions, actual gold and silver. This practice was stopped in 1668, when Basilios Agianis, Governor of Greek Tondo, passed a bill in which birthdays were celebrated on the day when the person was born. Aside from stopping the practice, "special birthdays" were practiced from the Greeks (e.g: When a boy turns 10, 13, & 21 or when a girl turns 12, 15, & 18). Today, the tradition is still practiced mostly in rural areas far from the city, but with a "modern touch".

I'm curious as to the reason for the 3 months advancement in celebration.

We're the only known space-faring nation (context: Less than 10% of the Milky Way galaxy is charted) to have a national anthem. It was seen as a curious tradition by other nations that we have an "official song" to represent humanity.

The anthem is called "Sylvalum" named after Sylvia di Benavente, an American candidate for the 2036 election running on a platform based on the 2019 "Green new Deal" but with a modern (at the time) twist. In this timeline, the Green New Deal was shut down by Democrats, and their loyal base begin harassing any 'progressive' (For Europeans: Blairites are considered Progressive/Bernie Bots/Russian trolls) to the point America's elections are only Socially Liberal but Scientifically illiterate Democrats or Socially Repressive and Scientifically illiterate Republicans; only difference is that Democrats at least know science isn't communist propaganda, they just don't want to solve problems (and one reason why China committed genocide on Westerners after the UN fell).

Sylvia di Benavente was assassinated and the Gen Xers & Millennials who now run the show are faced with angry Gen Zs, and Gen Alphas who accused the Democrats of killing her the same way people claim a conspiracy was involved when Kennedy was shot or how people in 2016 claimed Seth Rich was killed by the DNC (in this universe, all are true). Of course, the millennials and Gen Xers claim these rowdy youth are being 'divisive'. This stagnation led to the United States' eventual decline when Premier Gao rose into power in China or Gulbahar Krishnakumar became influential in Indian politics, both nations shaping how Technocracy will turn out. When the Technocracy needs an anthem, they decided to name their piece "Sylvalum" to show respect to the woman who could've made the United States, and in turn, the West, avert ecological damage that requires China and India to kill billions of people to prevent (decades before they did the same to all the conquered UN territories). All the USA with its lower population had to do was not be scientifically illiterate.

She is martyred in a fashion that Christians revered Jesus Christ and her name, and image, is used as a symbolism of Humanity's bleak past of hardship and death, but the light of hope kept us going, and eventually, became an interstellar power despite the odds. The anthem is trying to portray that.

A smart and different approach to nation simulations. I wonder which dialect(?) of English uses that spelling. I should probably look it up.

In Amenria's national language, a fictional dialect of Indonesian (with the only difference from rl Indonesian being the spelling of a few words plus a new loan word or two), most, if not all occupation nouns are gender-neutral. The same goes for the third-person pronoun. This is why whatever feminists we have (if any), have nothing to complain when it comes to vocabularies.

This is not particularly surprising, since most languages of the world lack grammatical and, in many cases, explicit semantic gender. Real-life Indonesian, with but a tenuous handful of exceptions, is no different.

Anyway, keeping gendered pronouns is good. If they weren't around for us feminists to bicker over, then we'd start looking too closely at other silly little teething grievances, like domestic abuse.

Makes sense, especially during such a time like the Cold War.
There is a maturing cherry blossom in the centre of Moot Square Garden (RL Parliament Square Garden), London. It was a gift from Japan a number of decades ago, and is often a symbol of Anglo-Japanese solidarity and relations.

A cherry blossom as a symbol of national friendship? How sweet. If only Britain maintained good relations with Japan after WWI and didn't underestimate their prowess.

In our world, the empires of the European continent didn't embark on colonizing the Third World. Due to a variety of factors. First being logistics as most nations of the post-apocalyptic have their struggles in maintaining order in the wastelands, let alone controlling distant lands in the harsh environmental climate of tropical Africa or the jungles of Southeast Asia. Second being the obviously significant cultural differences that would make integration seemingly futile as well as their lack of interest in developing Third World society. Third being that post-apocalyptic Third World nations are no push-over and are on an equal balance with European nations in terms of military. The lessons learned from past decolonization and post-colonial turmoil before the Five Days of Fire contributed to the ever-so prevailing sentiment that colonialism is simply not worth it in the eyes of imperialists.

Intermarian Gazette: Imperator Konstantyn refuses to enter a Concordat with the Holy See. The Imperator views it as an attempt to undermine secular rule of law and place the interest of a religious group over another. Rumors are speculating that Grand Master Giovanni of Malta would lead the second round of negotiation table talks.

Sounds clever, and makes sense. If third world wasn't hit much during the nuclear war, and managed to survive somewhat intact (While still suffering from nuclear fallout, though), it would be more on par with the European powers, making colonization dangerous. That said, I am still not sure, if European powers would not attempt something similar later, once they rebuild, and power disparity grows again.

From factbooks:

Due of Tomism's influence, republicanism runs down very deep to the core of SC's society - so much, that some of the terms, and places have been renamed by the government's institutions. For an example, ''Burger King'' was renamed to ''President's Burgers'' in SC's timeline, but term ''Drama King'' - replaced by ''Drama General''. Some of the Royal Colleges in UK were renamed to the names of various SC's past governors. ''Eat breakfast like a king'' was replaced by ''Eat breakfast like an army general''. Even cartoons, and fairy tales weren't protected - all monarchies in Disney movies were transformed into authoritarian juntas to various extents. (For example, King Mufasa is a General, and a military dictator instead in SC's fiction)

Whilst I am admittedly rather partial to republicanism, that seems a tad extreme and unnecessary. It comes across as more than a little bit pedantic, to say the least.

Fashion and beauty are important aspects of Athralian society and cultural life, and Athralians are well known for being particularly meticulous when it comes to their appearance. How one presents oneself is very important in Athralian culture. How one looks, how one comports oneself, and how one makes the best possible impression in all things are practically hardwired into the Athralian psyche. To the Athralians, failing to maintain one's appearance is a sign that one lacks self-respect and grace, and can even be perceived as an insult. Athralian fashion itself often incorporates supremely comfortable sheer silk and lace-like materials, however it is generally considered by human standards to be fairly revealing and even risqué, although Athralians do not possess the same qualms that some humans do with regards to showing a bit of skin. In fact, public nudity is seen as completely acceptable within Athralian society, and although it is almost unheard of for individuals to ever go fully nude, toplessness is comparatively common. Athralians tend to believe that their fashion primarily exists to compliment the beauty of their bodies, not to replace or overshadow it, and to this end they obsessively stay fit and healthy to maintain this natural beauty. This is further complimented by the colourful paints, tattoos, and other cosmetics that Athralians traditionally adorn their bodies with for celebrations and special occasions. Whilst these beautiful patterns - known as kyrisi sivaka in Athralian - once possessed religious meanings, they are now instead seen as reflections of one's personality and as a way for an Athralian to accentuate her natural beauty. This pursuit of beauty and its reverence has often seen the Athralians labelled a vain and narcissistic species by others, and some humans, particularly those who are conservative or reactionary, have even described the Athralians as degenerate and hedonistic.

A vain attitude on how one looks is a healthy attitude. How you present yourself is pretty important, especially in a society of competitive people like that of Athralia.

Despite "Kaiser" being the popular title for the North German Head of State, the official title is still the same that was implemented in 1866 North German Confederation: Bundespräsidium. The basic story is that while drafting a constitution for the newborn North German Realm, Every single other state (other than Prussia) disagreed with becoming a Kaiserreich, the Hanoverians in particular the largest opposition to that motion. To that end, the North German State is officially a Federation, and the constitutional title for its leader is "Bundespräsidium" (or Präsidium des Bundes). Kaiser is just more popular, however. Especially as South Germany had no such inclinations and the Habsburg Emperor continued being an Emperor after the South German Compromise of 1867.

Interesting. So does that make the country a republic by technicality or something? It’s rather strange, really, I guess.
The political system of Transarabia is largely modelled off of the American political system, with some differences - namely the lack of an electoral college and the influence of Kemalist principles in Transarabia.
