On occasion one finds an exception to the rule and we believe the current Commendation of Valentine Z as an exception to our disdain toward the Commendation/ Condemnation beauty pageant of the Security Council.

Our primary antipathy with the Security Council is borne out of the abhorrent provision known as Liberation which usurps the game created right and power of the freely elected WA Delegate to Password the Region they serve. We remain steadfast against all Liberation resolutions.

The idea of a Commendation or Condemnation has potential to recognize a Nation’s contribution, positive or negative, to the game. There was a point in time where Mikeswill was Commended and appreciated the recognition.

Unfortunately, some provisions are easily manipulated as was the case when the Mikeswill Commendation was repealed based on false allegations. It became apparent the WA Delegates of the five Pacifics determined the vote in the Security Council. As such, Commendations and Condemnations flutter between passage and repeal at their whim.

Whereas this has resulted in recognition of some Nations of dubious merit, it must be noted that some Nations have merited the acknowledgement. Valentine Z is arguably the most pleasant Nation I have encountered in almost 19 years of gameplay in addition to making the plethora of contributions as outlined in the Resolution.

To deny Valentine Z the recognition they deserve just because other recognized Nations have marginal qualifications is no longer a tenable position to take. As such we are rescinding our blanket vote against Commendations and Condemnations focusing our stance solely on Anti-Liberations.

Therefore, Mikeswill votes For the Commendation of Valentine Z.

The American Rockies mean no offense to Valentine Z and appreciates their dedication (though they remain suspicious and fearsome of that draconian tax rate). However it is in the view of the American Rockies that the exceptional actions of Valentine Z do not warrant commendation. This is the WA Security Council, not the WA Friends Council. For the purposes of maintaining the integrity of WA Security Council, the American Rockies will not vote to commend Valentine Z as there lacks sufficient evidence in the matters of international security. The American Rockies also remains skeptical as the resolution was written by a nation from the same region as Valentine Z.

As a preface, I would like to clarify first and foremost that whatever that I will be saying below are of my own thoughts, and are not the opinions of anyone, but mine. With that said, let’s get started, and I hope it won’t be cheesy.

November of 2015 was the very first time that I came to NationStates; I didn’t know about the existence of this site until I saw one of my RL friends posting about their statistics. I asked her what the game was, and there came one answer: NationStates! I gave it a try, initially only answering issues and maybe trying out the forums a few times here and there, but it didn’t stick. I simply went with answering issues, and I was more or less happy with it. Over the next few weeks, I came across what is known as Forum 7 – a casual above nation game, one that you can see on other sites and forums as well; in essence, every site has their own casual forums, and F7 is our very own version of it. I started there because it was casual and relaxed, and it still is. As to why I stayed: it cannot be stated enough that I have met a lot of amazing people, people that I am still keeping in touch with for the most parts, and where I have made quite a lot of friends and back in 2016-2017 when Discord was slowly becoming a thing on its own, so much so that some people started going into RPs on Discord instead of on NS. However, one thing has remained constant, and that I am still friends with the many of the folks I have met. That is the reason as to why I am adamant that Forum 7 is more than a spammy sub-forum, at least tolerate spam game within the OSRS of the site. At first glance, it may seem like nothing too special – just a bunch of games that will get lost to time after a week of inactivity or locked from page limit. Appropriately enough, my seven years of going on and off and relatively staying at F7 have showed me that it is more than just spam if you look deep and beyond. It is a place to make friends, even blow off some steam, and more importantly – where lore is born. Yes, I could have had my worldbuilding things created and made anywhere else, and I am not in anyway trying to discredit any other subforums. I simply want to believe that Forum 7, at its best and with most people that are inside, deserves the attention.

And of course, on top of Forum 7, I have moved on to virtually every other subforums – Factbooks and National Information (though technically, that is less for interactions and for those who likes forum-based factbooks and posts), P2TM (Portal to the Multiverse), GI (Got Issues?), even NSG (NationStates General) for casual chat, and now I got indirectly involved in General Assembly and Security Council given the recent commendation. The only thing, I will admit that I have never done that deeply, is R&D (Raiding and Defending); I had my moments of defending, but it was something that I did not venture into out of personal preference. Last, but not the very least, and the most recent venture that I have been going into – NS Sports. I had a lot of fun writing my stories, my roleplays, my characters, visuals, everything. I have fun participating in both international (interdimensional or multiversal even) and domestic events, I have fun interacting and talking with the people that are in that subforum, and NSSCRA might have been arguably the single best venture that I have dipped into, thanks to a NSS friend who got me into it.

For what it’s worth, and regardless of where you come from, whether or not you know me, whether or not you have voted, or for/against me – you have my sincere thanks for letting me be in this community, accepting the flaws that I have had now and then. I know people often don’t think too much of it, but no matter where you are from, be it NSS, NSGP, NSG, F7, GI, P2TM, or anywhere else, most of you are the most amazing and true people that I have the utmost honour of being acquaintances and friends with. Time may have changed things for the better or for worse, to which we will never know; as an example, I have lost contact with a couple of F7 friends I have talked to in 2016. One thing, however, remains constant, will be the memories and the feeling that I don’t think I have wasted my time being here. Everyone needs a hobby to blow off some steam, this is one of mine, amongst a couple others. In another world, as I always like to imagine, I could have been in another community – perhaps for better or for worse or just the same, really. Maybe I might have never found this site, and I wouldn’t know what I was missing out. With this commendation done, it may change in the future – it may remain, repealed and replaced, or repealed and never replaced. I honestly will not know, but I am OK with that. I am content with my RL, and my NS stuff here. And of course, my many thanks to Ice States, Tinhampton, Morover, and everyone else past and present who have tried to commend me before. It was very much appreciated, I am honored for this, and do my best forevermore.
