Internet in YN?

Postby Kogure » Thu Sep 10, 2026 3:17 pm

How the Internet looks? Who provides the Internet? What services and platforms are present? How people socialize online? Is there content moderation? How things like e commerce and social media work?

Internet Network System in Kogure

In Kogure, the Internet Network System is developed based on the standpoint of fully utilizing the benefits of modern communications technology while defending the social interest.

An important aspect for the development of the Internet in Kogure is comprehensively developing a national internet. A Naitonal Internet is a network system with a domestic infrastructure base, domestic information processing, domestic service delivery, and domestic management that enables Kogure to fully utilize the benefits of the Internet in accordance with the domestic interests and current conditions.

Development of a National Internet enables Kogure to fully utilize the new communications capacity in the course of its economic and cultural development led by science and technology. The development of a National Internet combines organized management with activities of decentralized participants. At the same time measures for the protection of online safety are implemented in line with the evolving demands of users for a safe and reliable communications space.

Domestic Infrastructure Base

Building a domestic infrastructure base is a fundamental question in the development of a National Internet. The domestic infrastructure base construction policy involves creation and development of the fiber networks, wireless transmission systems, satellite communications systems, internet exchange points, and information processing centers. Building a domestic material and technological base for the digital communications enables to fully utilize the advantages of the Internet by domestic users by accessing communication networks that are most suitable to the domestic information operations and rationalize connections between servers.

Internet Service Provision

The Internet Service Provision business operates on the wholesale model that combines construction of a unified network system with adaptable consumer provision.

The Kogure Telecommunications Group (KTG) is a state owned enteprise under the State Council and a strategic policy unit. KTG acts as the primary level (Tier 2 ISP) internet service provider which sells traffic volume to the secondary level (Tier 3 ISP) internet service providers that directly provide services to the individual users and organizations on competitive base.

Kumgal Gateway System

Kumgal Gateway System is a gateway system developed by the Kogure Telecommunications Group and the Ministry of Communications and Information Processing. Kumgal Gateway System unifies multiple communication networks and improves connectivity between them, and shields domestic networks from cybersecurity threats. The system encompasses routers, optical fiber networks, traffic aggregation system, DNS resolver clusters, central network management system, and other components.

Domestic Information Processing

Domestic Information Processing is an important component of developing a National Internet. Domestic Information Processing involves involes data localization, cross-border transfer controls, protection of domestic personal data from inappropriate access, and control over transfer to foreign countries.

Real Name Registration System

In Kogure, in line with the laws concerning fair use of the digital networks, the real name registration system is implemented.

The basic foundation for the real name registration system is a phone number. Each phone number is tied to a 12-character unique ID number issued with each citizen card (personal ID card). It is then checked by the provider store, who then communicates registration of a new SIM card to a government data centre. Children may access phone numbers through their guardian until they turn 15.

The phone number is then used to register for services related to electronic government services banks, financial organizations, digital payment transactions, and social network services.

For social network services, individual services might store real name data only for the internal use, or require alignment of account data with the real name.

Domestic Service Delivery

The development of domestic service delivery is a component of the National Internet. Domestic Service Delivery involves the development and provision of internet based services to the domestic market to satisfy the users material and cultural needs and build domestic digital capacity. It is closely connected with the domestic information processing of large scale data.

Unfortunately, there is no Internet in Atlaciele. Atlaciele is a floating island nation above the Earth’s clouds that contains 10000-100000 people, so it never needed one and even if it did, there aren’t enough resources to build things like the Internet. In fact, the main modes of travel in Atlaciele are walking and the equivalent of horses despite the advanced technology down below. This might change if I change Atlaciele’s planet’s technology level, but even though Atlaciele has no Internet, Earth’s “ground-dwellers” (I haven’t given them a name yet) do. If an Atlacielean obtained an electronic device and somehow gains access to the Internet, they will be able to access the same things the “ground-dwellers” access. That Earth has the same countries and systems as the real Earth.

Since Huaxia is literally China, the nation has full digital sovereignty.

Being the successor polity to the People's Republic of China, Huaxia did originally inherit the Great Firewall due to its importance in acting as a large-scale sovereign cyberspace system that filters out foreign disinfo and propaganda from extremely-unreliable and overwhelmingly-biased sources such as corporate "news" propaganda outlets and reactionary cult networks. But following the collapse of the United States under Supreme Leader Donald J. Trump and the beginning of the Second American Civil War, the Huaxian government switched off the Great Firewall despite the fact that VPN had always been legal and widely-used even during the PRC period. Regardless, Huaxia has its own domestic platforms such as Baidu Tieba, Douban, 6park.com, wyzxwk.com, Sina Weibo, Bilibili, Tudou, 56.com, Youku, and AcFun among others. Thanks to this, Huaxia maintains a fully-domestic sovereign cyberspace unseen by other nations, and even with the collapse of the US, such digital sovereignty allows Huaxia to continue filtering-out reactionary, un-scientific, dogmatic, extremist and superstitious content, fake news, AI-slop, and other forms of digital content that rot the minds of individuals from young impressionable children to the elderly who are out of touch with current trends.

Huaxia is the absolute world leader in e-commerce. Recently, social logistics volume exceeded NS$58.7 trillion in H1, a reflection of the nation's extremely-vibrant consumer logistics that is globally-unmatched. Within Huaxia's agricultural field, it is common practice for farmers to livestream their goods online to potential buyers from different parts of the country, with the nation being the only one to have rural e-commerce. Thanks to the nation's technological bleeding-edge, a gargantuan industrial base larger than the rest of the world combined, and a globally-unmatched infrastructure network, along with widespread smartphone penetration even across rural communities, ubiquitous mobile-payment wireless services like Alipay and WeChat Pay for quick cashless payment, extensive network coverage of bleeding-edge ultra-high-speed 5G, 5.5G and 6G wireless mobile communications, and a hyper-advanced Internet infrastructure built around the absolute ubiquity of fiber-in-the-loop ultra-high-speed fiber-optic communication Internet services and satellite Internet broadband, the nation's e-commerce scene is extremely-vibrant and second-to-none. Being the world's manufacturing engine, Huaxia's supply chain dominance has allowed the nation's e-commerce scene to maintain a massive foothold in other nations as well.

How does the Internet look? Very similar to elsewhere, but technological advancements by 2099 have resulted in much higher definition and more immersive media environments. Many optical implants offer at least basic messaging and browsing services.

Who provides the Internet? Various Internet Service Providers and cell services. There are dozens of options in Yandaw, but MangoMobile and yDot are the two largest providers.

What services and platforms are present? More or less what you'd expect - corporate and government sites, social media platforms, e-commerce sites, video streaming, banking, search engines, wiki services, various online/connected aps, etc etc

How do people socialize online? Usually through social media or messaging and photo sharing apps.

Is there content moderation? Yes, mostly to protect minors, prevent animal abuse, and prevent the proliferation of drugs and terrorism. Otherwise moderation is minimal.

How do things like e commerce and social media work? Mostly as you expect: accounts linked to IDs and payment methods, though it is up to the individual website admins to determine what level of information they collect. Of course this is all outlined in the terms and conditions.

In Neo Lunatea, the Internet is provided by the state for free. We have our own version of Youtube called VidStream, run by sentient moderators. All ads are skippable, and it features custom channel pages and user made subtitles. Whenever a YouTube video is uploaded, it's also auto uploaded onto VidStream, and you can see YT comments and accounts.

AI content is clearly marked and can be filtered out (or you can filter out all of the human stuff if you wanna do that for some reason). You can also search by video age, views, and other info. It's incredibly precise. When a video hits 200K views, a team of expert voice actors dub the video in Japanese, Russian, and English.

Copyright policy is also much more lax, not just on VidStream, but on the Neo Lunatean internet in general. You can often find emulation sites here for all consoles up to the Wii era.

The only sites banned are ones that promote illegal activities, like bestiality porn sites. Age verification is not a thing here, as the government issues PSAs recommending people only to begin using the internet at 13.

The APC Net is a vast computational network that ties the entire planet together, in a somewhat literal sense. The APC Net is the primary means of accessing the unrestricted parts of the Matrix, the some total of all Time Lord knowledge.

There are many facets of the APC Net, one of which is the Public Registry Video that supplies and regulates all media on Gallifrey (although the rival group People's Broadcast Service has since arisen).

Bunisia has internet.

Vuture Bettemlon and Padel Lemmon helped connecting the nation to the internet in the 1980s.
Bunisia has the World Wide Web 2 years after its arrival in the US, with Bunicom, ZidaNet and PadCast being the dominant internet providers in Bunisia.
YouTube was made available in Bunisia in August 9, 2008.
Twitter, Instagram and other social media websites were made available in the country throughout the years.
Blogging was popular during the 2010s in Bunisia. The most famous bloggers are Sarah Neddel (Sarahx), Nicol Mandizer (Niko) and Dori Sacramon (Dorimon).
The internet was monitored by the government, although not too much because people in Bunisia don't like their internet being monitored.
Bunisia-created websites include ShotMe (picture blogging website), NoteBird (posting website) and MusTrak (music website).

Cavirfi has the fastest internet in World Three with a mean download speed of 250 mbps and median speed of 300 mbps. Internet infrastructure is built and provided by workers-owned telecommunications cooperatives and construction and maintenance is overseen by the federal Ministry of Economics.

The Ministry of Welfare has contracts with telecommunications firms to install Wi-Fi in all Cavirfite homes and at the consumer level, at-home Internet access is free in Cavirfi. Mobile data is provided by separate firms and consumers do pay for plans ranging from pre-paid data packages between 20MB to 50GB with terms between 7 days and a year to post-paid monthly unlimited data. There are no major telecommunications firms in Cavirfi and the market is highly competitive, making mobile Internet relatively affordable for Cavirfites with Cavirfites paying between 7-20% of their monthly expenses on mobile data.

While terrestrial telecommunications infrastructure is operated by non-government firms, satellite infrastructure, capable of facilitating online communication between Cavirfi and countries in World Two and World One, are built by separate firms and launched and operated by the Ministry of Economics under the Cavirfite satellite and wider unmanned space program. For physical reasons, there are 8 to 16 second delays between communications from Cavirfi to countries in other worlds. There is no way to fix this, so unless a website you're accessing has proxy servers in World Three, you will have some lag when accessing a website based in another world while in Cavirfi.

Cervennia has long recognised internet access as a human right and is always working to ensure ready access is available throughout the country. Many essential personal services, including each citizen's digital ID, financial transactions and government account management are reliant on the internet.

How does the internet look? Much the same as the rest of the world.
Who provides the internet? The National Communications Service, a division of the Ministry of Infrastructure, acts as an ISP for all citizens of Cervennia, whether it be through fibre, ethernet, public WiFi or satellite.
What services and platforms are present? Everything you'd expect, except for overseas financial transactions and purchases, including subscription services. If you your money needs to leave Cervennia, you can't buy it.
How do people socialise online? YouOnline was the original social network in Cervennia, though it's mostly older generations using it nowadays. Most younger people use the same sites as the rest of the world - Instagram, TikTok, etc.
Is there content moderation? Red-flagged sites are reviewed by relevant government departments and forwarded to the NCS for blocking. These are generally for content that would be illegal anywhere in the world.
How do things like eCommerce and social media work? eCommerce is only possible through local Cervennian sites, but it's very accessible. The vast majority of people now use Distro, our online service for ordering basic foods and goods rather than going to a distribution centre. Luxuries can be sold and purchased online too - but again, only if your money is going to remain in Cervennia, you can't buy things from overseas directly yourself. Social media works the same as the rest of the world, there are no restrictions.

Internet access in Tyrol is near-universal and generally very fast, with fibre-optic broadband widely available throughout cities, towns and most inhabited valleys. Mobile coverage is extensive along major roads, railways and through many tunnels, while more remote Alpine communities are connected through subsidised rural broadband programmes, fixed wireless links or satellite services where conventional fibre connections are impractical.

Internet service is provided primarily by private telecommunications companies operating under national infrastructure and consumer-protection regulations. Net neutrality is protected by law, preventing providers from blocking, throttling or commercially prioritising lawful internet traffic. Paid fast lanes are prohibited, although limited traffic management is permitted where necessary for network security, congestion management or emergency communications.

The internet is otherwise largely open and uncensored, subject to ordinary laws concerning criminal content, fraud, harassment and similar offences. Online banking, tax filing, government services, healthcare administration and other digital services are widely used, although non-digital alternatives remain available for those unable or unwilling to use them.

1. It is government contolled, and all electronic devices that can access the internet must have Venvik.brv (Which is Basically my version of Yandex.ru)
2. Mostly Government-owned industry. Though there are some Private-owned industry that provides the internet.
3. Like Russia IRL, Beroslavakia has their own versions of popular Internet services.
4. Mostly through Beroslav versions of other platforms, like Whatsapp being Venvik Messaging.
5. Yes. There is moderation. The government searches user's posts and things they've searched up for "Security Purposes".
6. The way they usually work, with online orders getting more popular each year.
