What happens in your nation after the death of your leader? Does chaos break out in the nation? Or is a successor simply chosen? What are the rules of succession? What are the requirements for it? Tell me about succession after the leader's death in your nation.

Upon the death of an Emerstarian monarch, an interregnum begins until such time as the Kronsþing can meet and elect a successor. Since its most recent restoration in 1718, the House of Erik has been the sole family on the throne; and since 1900, the crown has been passed down solely from father to son. As such, Emerstari is practically a hereditary monarchy while it is technically an elective monarchy. There are several hundred electors who comprise the Kronsþing, the majority of which are the male descendants of Erik VIII Olof (1679-1744, r. 1718-1744), and the rest are the peers of the realm.

There is no single regent during the interregnum. After a successor is elected, he is crowned and anointed King of the Emerstarians in a ceremony conducted by the Patriarch of Upsal and other high clergy in Hrenshålla Cathedral, typically on Christmas Day. This ceremony is depicted in the third part of this post as it happened in 1916 on the accession of Erik X Gustaf (1900-2019, r. 1916-1972). No requirements are written in law to be an Emerstarian king. However, certain requirements are written in the hearts of the Emerstarian people — namely, to be of an old family, to lead a virtuous life, and to have land.

Accordingly, some kings have been as young as sixteen (Erik X Gustaf, r. 1916-1972) and eighteen (Karl IV Lorens, r. 1692-1704) at their coronation, and others have been as old as seventy-one (Olof III Aleksendres, r. 1778-1780). Some have been the sons of the previous king, and others have been brothers, distant cousins, or relatives by marriage. The eldest son of Erik IX Johannes (r. 1744-1778), for example, was passed over for his uncle because of his poor standing with the Church and adultery. He eventually was elected king and ruled as Karl V Erik (1780-1808) following his uncle's rule and public acts of penance.

Succession has been peaceful for the last three centuries. In 1718, however, a brief conflict occurred after the assassination of Harvin III Karl. Similar conflicts of an even greater scale transpired in the fifteenth, fourteenth, and eleventh centuries — particularly in the fourteenth century, when Emerstari was ruled by a foreign king for about ten years, and he was overthrown in a revolt. A list of Emerstarian monarchs since 1718 can be found here.

In ancient times, Tmezestos was a Kingdom, ruled by a singular hereditary monarch. For the most part, the succession was an orderly procession according to Full-Swiolaic succession law, meaning that, for the most part, the old King's son, brother or uncle would inherit, and given how lesser titles were usually handed out upon the death of the monarch, the lower Peolosca (princes) would be placated and dissuaded from challenging the succession, though there were exceptions. Succession required one to have been the living son of a King - unless your father (or mother in the case of Claudia) was a King, you could not inherit, even if you were the grandson of a King.

However, this style of inheritance was, perhaps by design, unstable, and after lasting nearly 800 years, the line of Kings was ended and the interregnum occurred. Local Cxeulisca and Peolosca (landed Dukes and Princes) became independent by default, and the realm was thrown into chaos. However, the High Priesthood reorganised the faith, formed the Blue Council, and determined a line of nobility that could rule as Dukes of the City of Tmezestos. This line followed the much more stable Semi-Swiolaic succession, but had little purview outside of the city of Tmezestos itself.

It was not until the Third Era, with the rise of trade guilds and the republicanisation of the role of Duke, that the old territory of the Kingdom was retained. However, this system now follows a patrician succession, whereby the patrician houses of the city elect, from among themselves, the Duke to rule over their lifetime. The Duke shares power with the Blue Council, as well as the Land's Parliament, containing all of the non-city lands of Tmezestos.

Daily Question #1: Etymology

The name Oronia derives from the Spanish word oro, meaning gold. The Spanish conquistadors named the islands after the golden palaces of the then-imperial House of Küxal-Kofi in Antüria and the huge gold deposits found in the mines of present-day Mawidona.

Daily Question #2: Vexillology or something

The symbolic meaning of the flag colors is:

  • Orange – represents fire, eternal strength, and rebirth
  • White - represents the sky and peace
  • Yellow – represents the sun, royalty, and the divine

Daily Question #3: L-L-Leader?

Felipe III, King of the United Realms, inherited the Crown upon the assassination of his father in 1974. A regency and guardianship was established by the Senate as he was only five years old: his uncle Prince Samuel, the then-Duke of Puelanayapu, and his cousin Prince Emmanuel, then-Duke of Ngantüpu, served as regents, while his mother served as his guardian; the regency ended in 1987 when he turned eighteen years old. Felipe was also the first member of the royal house to study abroad, as he attended Eton College at age thirteen; he completed his studies in five years' time. He is considered to be a fair and pragmatic ruler and is beloved by his people. In following with tradition, Felipe has no political affiliation, although political analysts believe him to be left leaning.

Jorge Garcia, President of the United Realms, is the second child of Mario Garcia and Leticia Solas. Raised in Kuraria, he attended private school, the Cross Academy for primary school and St. Thomas Preparatory Institute for secondary school. After graduating in 2004, Maria studied at St. Felipe University of the Church of Oronia in Pikantüria, Fanelayasia, where he earned his bachelor and master's degrees in public administration. After completing his education in 2011, he worked as a civil servant in Kuraria, Pikunicia, working his way up to working as an aide to Juan Perez Morales, the then-premier of Pikunicia; in 2018, he joined the Congreso Nacional as a Senator from Pikunicia, before becoming president in 2021. He is a member of the Democratic Socialist Party, the prominent leftwing party in the United Realms. Having one of the highest approval ratings as president, he is well respected at home and abroad.

Daily Question #4: Holy S**t!

The Church of Oronia is the established, state-supported church in the United Realms. The Church of Oronia continues to maintain an episcopate, and theological authority is vested in eparchs: nine eparchs in mainland Oronia, one in Las Islas Kelücu, one in Las Islas Pichiwa, and one in Northern Platalonia. The Primate of All Oronia is the Eparch of Fanelayasia, the most senior cleric; constitutionally, the Crown is the supreme authority in the church as Supreme Governor. Approximately 80% of the church’s members regularly attend church services, and nearly 90% of the Oronian population consider religion as an important part of their daily life, according to a 2021 survey. Catholic Christianity was introduced to then-Komkiñepu in 1815 by the Spanish conquistadores, who supplanted the Mapuche religious practices. When the island’s indigenous people gained their independence from Spain, they organized their Mapuche practices within a system like that of the Roman Catholic Church, with the 1829 Royal Charter designating the church and mandating that the state support it as such. 73.1% of the population of the United Realms are members of the church; Roman Catholicism is practiced by 15.2% of the population, while Mapuche folk religion is practiced by 11.7% of the population.

Daily Question #5: Dead, and now what?

The King (or Queen) of the United Realms, who is head of state, is constitutionally held by the King or Queen of Fanelayasia. The King or Queen is automatically succeeded by his or her eldest child, regardless of sex, so long as they are a legitimate descendant of Felipe I. Should the King or Queen not have a legitimate heir, the Great Council will convene and designate a successor; this provision had more relevance when the succession laws of the House of Küxal-Kofi were based in agnatic primogeniture, but this is less likely to occur with the adoption of male-preference and more recently equal primogeniture. The royal charter also restricts succession to legitimate descendants of Felipe I who are members of the Church of Oronia, although this does not prohibit the inheritance of other titles. If a member is not a member of the Church of Oronia, the disqualification also does not extend to the individual's legitimate descendants who follow the Church of Oronia. While it was not explicitly prohibited, it was customary that those who marry into the royal house were members of the Church by birth or through conversion. When he briefly reigned as King, Eduardo announced his plans to marry a Roman Catholic woman, who would have been the first member of the royal house to not be a member of the Church. Due to public outrage and the disapproval from the government, he abdicated in favor of his younger brother, Agustín; this was the only voluntary abdication in the history of the royal house.

The President of the United Realms, who is head of government, is nominated by direct popular vote and formally appointed by the King (or Queen) of the United Realms. Should there be an unclear victor, the King or Queen will call for new elections. Should the president die, resign, or be otherwise unable to serve, the vice president will serve as acting president for the remainder of the presidential term. Should the offices of the president and vice president both become vacant, a member of the Council of Ministers will serve as acting president based on their position in the presidential line of succession established by the National Emergency and Contingency Act of 1974.

Daily Question #3: L-L-Leader?
Tell me about your leader. How did he come to power? What are his character traits? Which ideology or political opinion does he support? How does he rule? Is he loved by the people or hated by everyone?

It depends on who you define as the leader, as Tangatarehua is actually considered to be a diarchy.

The symbolic head of state is the Empress, Tamahine o te Marama (who is only ever referred to by the nation as 'Te Kuia o Whenia', or 'Mother of the Nation') who is the latest in a matriarchal dynasty dating back over 2000 years and who claim to be descendants of Rehua, the Maori god of the stars.

She assumed the Pounamu Throne in 2008 after the death of her mother, the previous Empress. Because the Empress is Tapu (sacred) and considered a living goddess, her interactions with the average person are rare and little is known about her personality, interests of beliefs - in fact she's so reclusive that it's illegal to film or photograph her.

She tends to only address the nation once a year, on New Years Day, or in times of crisis though her image adorns coins and in fact her portrait is found in most houses. Although there are a handful of far left anti-monarchy groups who criticise her, for the most part the populace support the retention of the status quo - after all, a system that's worked for 2000 years is worth keeping alive!

The executive head of state is the Rangatira, which translates as "Chief" and sometimes as "General", even "King" although he is outranked by the Empress in order of precedence and is not a member of the Imperial family. (Nor is he allowed to marry into it, as relations between a Rangatira and Empress were outlawed in the 13th century to prevent the centralisation of power into the hands of one person.)

The Rangatira is appointed for life by Te Kahui o Kaitiaki (the Council of Guardians) upon the death of the previous Rangatira. In theory it's an elected monarchy, but in practice it's hereditary and dominated by the Te Rata dynasty since the 19th century. A Rangatira can be dismissed at will by the Empress or choose to abdicate, and only one of the 21 Kaitiaki (Guardians/Regional Governors) is eligible for the role, and only the nobility are eligible to become Kaitiaki.

Generally the Rangatira has high approval ratings but opposition to him is more common. The most common criticisms of the Rangatira are that he stands in the way of Tangatarehua becoming a true democracy, that he is out of touch with the youth and common people and that he has aligned Tangatarehua's foreign policy too closely with dictatorships rather than seeking friendship with democracies. His exact political views are unknown, as by convention a Rangatira remains neutral.

Finally we also have the Mangai o Whenua which literally means "Representative of the People" and is sometimes translated as "Speaker" or occasionally "Prime Minister". They are elected by Te Whare o Mangai (the House of Representatives) for three years and are usually the leader of the majority party. The Mangai o Whenua is head of the legislative branch of government as well as the ex-officio head of Te Tari o Taonga (the Department of the Treasury) and therefore control the national budget.

The current Mangai o Whenua is Ngaire Roimati of Tikanga Manapori Herekore (the Free Democratic Party), who was elected in 2021 as head of the now defunct Liberal Party. She generally holds centre-right, pro-business views although is more centrist than other previous leaders of her party. Her approval ratings are middling, with recent polls giving her a 49% approval rating.

Daily Question #5: Dead, and now what?[/b]

It depends on which leader died (see above).

For the Mangai o Whenua, Parliament just elects a replacement and everyone gets on with life.

For the Rangatira, the Council of Guardians convenes in a special conclave to elect a new Rangatira from among them. If the Council cannot make a unanimous decision in 7 days then a national election is held to elect one of the 21 Kaitiaki for a life term as Rangatira. (In practice, this has never happened in history so the details on how this would operate are not yet known.)

The Rangatira would also be given a state tangihanga (funeral) and while his office is vacant all executive functions of government immediately revert directly to the Empress.

If the Empress dies then things are more serious - the entire country shuts down for three weeks while her Tangihanga takes place. Often during the three week period, buying and selling stops as it is considered inappropriate to exchange coins or notes bearing the image of the deceased. Instead people are encouraged to give a koha or physical sacrifice and share it with their neighbours while for example supermarkets will often give out food for free during this period. The public are also strongly encouraged to give gifts to friends and neighbours or share possessions in whatever way they can with a particular emphasis on giving alms to the poor, but without the use of money until a new Empress takes the throne. (This is not a law however, merely a tradition and currency can still be legally traded and collected.) Full details on the process can be found here.

Daily Question #6: Sightseeing, yaaay!
What is your country's most famous landmark?

There are too many major landmarks and tourist hotspots to include just one, but the most famous and popular are:

  • Maungapuia, the nation's second tallest mountain which is known for its perfect symmetry, located in Maungapuia Prefecture, Rangiwhero. It's also a semi-active volcano that erupts every now and again and a skifield.
  • Maramama Reef, Ikame nga Maramama Prefecture - a tropical reef in the northern part of the country. In fact the Ikame nga Maramama islands in general are very popular among foreign tourists because of their agreeable climate.
  • Tamaki-teitei, Tamaki - the country's tallest building, which contains a view of the city and a revolving restaurant and is generally a symbol of the city of Tamaki.
  • Te Whare o Tangata, Tamaki - the Parliament building attracts a lot of tourists due to its architecture which combines traditional Rehuan motifs with the trends of the west in the 19th century.
  • Cruising down the Awakotiropai River, the country's longest river which runs most of the length of the island of Marangawhenua is very popular as it allows you to visit three important cities, learn the country's history and view beautiful scenery.
  • Whakaara Castle, Whakaara - you can't actually visit the Imperial Palace, but you can view it and the surrounding area which is a heavily forested mountain area in the centre of Whakaara. A lot of people like to take selfies near the gate and watch the changing of the Imperial Guards.
  • Whare Mohoao, Moanapapa - a series of ancient huts and structures estimated to be over 23,000 years old and built by the first humans in Tanagatrehua.
  • Tawhito-pa, Kotiropai - the palace of the first Empress, dating back to 300BC and unlike Whakaara Castle, fully open to the public and tourists.
  • Grand Mosque of Wharekorana - built in 1750 by Islamic missionaries, although Tangatarehua is not a Muslim nation, the mosque in the centre of the country's second largest city is huge and architecturally stunning and attracts tourists from all over the world.

Daily Question #6: Sightseeing, yaaay!

Lisander is a cosmopolitan nation, where architectural styles wandered at most. Buildings are constantly being rebuilt or modified.

If you're into premodern buildings, Soria is the best place. Palace of the Lys, head of the monarchy and the equestrian statue of Prince Albert in the front square are a mandatory visit. The palace of a thousand windows, as the Parliament is known, is also a good visit. The twin cathedrals of Saint Helen and Saint Galadrielle, also in the capital, probably only lose in beauty to the Cathedral of Alix, a town in eastern Lisander known by being the last refuge of Princess Alix heart, a story I told before on this dispatch.

If you're into nature, the beautiful coasts of Northern Lisander and the Archipelago of Azhaar are your choice. The former are colder and known for its fjord-like structure, while the latter are warmer and have a lot of deserted beaches (since most of Azhaar itself is Princely Domain, so it was not sold as Real Estate. In Lisander, the west, midnorth and north are known by its subtropical forests, with pines where eco-turism and hiking are good choices. River Grand, in the north, is fully navigable until Lake Grand. The southern and eastern region are plains with occasional shorter trees. If you're into warm water, sea and sun, the Suncoast is your best bet. Kasandora, Sirenia and Dawson are known by its beaches.

Southern cities in Suncoast are the best for you also if you like modern, connected and "Inspiregrammable" life. Nightlife is booming, a lot of sun. It's the Mecca for young and beautiful people working by creating videos on WhoTube.

Daily Question #6: Sightseeing, yaaay!

Since the 1970s, Grand Emilia has tried to heavily increase its tourism sector. This has meant opening up various state-sponsored tourist destinations that can be visited for free, though private ventures still exist.

After conducting a tourism census in 2019, it was determined that the most popular tourist attraction is the Muddy Waters Memorial some 30 kilometres south of Vanity Beach. The Muddy Waters Memorial is the site at which two ships owned by Captain Marcus Torridon were sunk in the Battle of Muddy Waters. Due to the shallowness of the waters, the two ships were preserved, with both being almost completely visible at low tide.

Before the 1890s, the Commonwealth Council mostly left the two ships alone, with the exception of minor maintenance every 20 years or so. However, in 1937, the two ships were declared a Site of National Importance. The ships were refurbished, while keeping them in their semi-shipwrecked state, so they could once again be boarded. As well as this, the area around the ships was developed, turning the whole area into a cultural site. In 1982, the site was close off for the first time for a complete overhaul. A museum was constructed nearby and a small Linerail line was created to the site. On June 1st 1984, the site would be reopened in a grand ceremony, with the site being officially renamed the Muddy Waters Memorial.

To this day, the site attracts almost a million people per year, including both domestic and external tourism.

Daily Question #6: Sightseeing, yaaay!

Tmezestos (and more specifically the capital of Nufaus Tmezestosca) is known for its ancient buildings, but among the most visited is the Palace of Kings, a palace structure the size of a small village that once housed the King and the majority of the royal court during the First Era. It is the place where the crown jewels are kept on display for tourists to see, even now that the time of monarchy has long since passed. The ancient courtyards, structures, fortifications and fountains are about the only part of the city never really touched by the progress of the modern world - even as skyscrapers were built up around the ancient buildings of Tmezestos' central districts, the Palace was kept clear and maintained as a snapshot of what life was like under the monarchy.

Outside of the city, one can practically pick any spot along the cliffed coastline that comprises Tmezestos' entire southern edge, though the two spots most often travelled to are Swòil Island, an area full of retirees of many different countries and known for its mild temperatures and slow life, and the geological structure known as the Shore of Swords, an area of large stalagmite-like formations that whistle in the wind and had been known to, prior to the building of the lighthouse in the area, drag many ships upon their piercing spikes.

Most international tourists who come to Veraguas are attracted by the country's natural beauty: Rainforests, volcanoes (some of them active), beaches, and the like. Birdwatchers in particular delight in seeing the country's astonishing variety of avian fauna. For those who are less nature-inclined, Mayan ruins and colonial-era churches are popular sights.

Daily Question #5: Sightseeing, yaaay!
What is your country's most famous landmark?

A domed building named the Patriarch's Sin. The Patriarchs were the ruling council responsible for leading the Empire in the days when it was still a nomadic tribe. They held back their people's potential through their rabid belief in traditionalism. When Emperor Anderson usurped them and established the Empire, he ordered the Patriarch's Sin built to commemorate the history of his people. Detailed exhibits carefully explain the centuries of history belonging to the Empire's people.
But the biggest room within the Patriarch's Sin is a round room with dozens of historical accounts from people who lived under the Patriarchs. It carefully explains how being shackled by traditions can lead to poverty and poor living conditions.

Daily Question #5: Sightseeing, yaaay!

Our capital city, called The Dome, is in fact named after a huge, transparent dome which is the base of our government. The Witan meets in one part of the building, the Supreme Council in another, each Arcon has an office and many government officials are based in The Dome. It is a very sustainable building, as light and heat always shine through the glass all day long. Tourists can tour The Dome and see such highlights as the statue of our first Emporer Santiago I, the great tapestry showing the day Teletubieland gained its independence which was gifted by the British Crown in 1954, and the Grand Council Chamber where the Supreme Council meet.

Nearby is the Great Palace, the home and working place of Emporer Pedro Gonzales. Formerly the residence of the Governor General, the Palace was built in 1841 out of Purbeck Stone with grand marbel pillars picked out in gold leaf surrounding the main door. It is possible to tour the Palace during limited periods of the year when the Emporer is staying at his country retreat, the Lesser Palace.
This nation reflects some of my RL views, but with everything taken to the extreme.

Daily Question #5: Sightseeing, yaaay!

The old city of Hrenshålla is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Emerstari. It's situated on an island in the middle of the Kyrå River and, as such, is home to a number of waterfront restaurants and inns, parks and bridges, and boat tours of the region. Further, being the capital of Emerstari, it is home to Hrenshålla Palace and Storþing Hall — the royal residence and legislative chambers, — both of which are built in the Gustavian style. Nearby is Hrenshålla Cathedral, built in the Gothic style, in which Emerstarian kings have been crowned since the fourteenth century. Besides the palace and cathedral, the restuarants and parks, the markets of Hrenshålla are another attraction for tourists.

Daily Question #6: Sightseeing, yaaay!
What is your country's most famous landmark?

Tourism is one of Hospe's major economic contributors so there are several landmarks of comparable fame. However, If there was one landmark that you could see in a book or movie and instantly go "That's Hospe.", it's the Great Unity Tower.
Completed in 1929, during a race for the world's tallest building. It is an Art Deco skyscraper at the top of which there is a statue of a winged woman holding up a orb of light. The building is situated at the very centre of the Central city district of Freeland. It is the third tallest building in the country and is highly visible from the South-Central Bay Area. The orb lights up every night and is used to convey several meanings by changing the colours eg: solidarity with a an ally country that has suffered a disaster or attack, the death of a prominent citizen or leader, National Day etc. The statue was inspired by the folkloric figure of Mother Hospea, the personalization of Hospe.

The Daily Question Magazine Version #7 from the 09.10.2022
You walk down a dark hallway, nervous and restless, your footsteps echoing. Your teammates run beside you toward the brightly lit exit. It gets bigger and bigger, and you reach the field. You are dazzled - by the cheers of the spectators, by the roar of the music, by the bright light of the stadium. The pitch stretches out in front of you, a gigantic place, a place for a battle of two rivals, a place for the entertainment of millions, a place where your fate will be decided. You pause, a terrible thought flooding your brain. "What are we even playing?"

Daily Question #7: Sport is murder!

The most popular sport in Grand Emilia is Association Football. Due to Grand Emilia's lack of historical aristocracy and heavily working class culture, more "upper-class" sports such as cricket, polo and golf were looed down upon. Grand Emilia plays in the World Cup and is considered to be a pretty proficient country at the sport for their size.

Internally, each of the city districts have their own major football teams, with some smaller towns having their own. The most well-regarded football team, and the one most well known abroad, is Torridon FC. Often nicknamed "Torry" by fans, they're regarded by most as the "best" football team in Grand Emilia. The sport is played along English lines, though there tends to be a cultural skew towards less aggressive and more elegant playing styles.

Daily Question #7: Sport is murder!

By far the most popular sport in Tmezestos is football/soccer, given the Cmosto translation of Fòtpalës. The Tmezestian history with football, by mythology, goes back to the First Era. Tmezestian football began with a far looser form of the game called Scuistèsës ("leather-ball"), often played by the servants of two noble families (or vassal peasantry of two noble lords) against one another, wearing the colours of that noble house as sashes. This game had very few rules, and often devolved into a scuffle or melee lasting days with no fixed end. When official football was introduced at the beginning of the industrial revolution, it took off especially in the outer Lands of Tmezestos, with the first official football club founded in 1887 (claims of ancient heritage notwithstanding) and the football league established in 1902. Football fans are known to be quite competitive in Tmezestos, and damage to property and even deaths have occurred around the sport.

Other popular sports include skiing, shooting and swimming. Among the nobility, game hunting (including on extended hunting excursions) is highly popular, and celebrated hunters have been known to receive medals from the Blue Council for "contributions to culture" or "sporting prowess".

Daily Question #6: Sightseeing, yaaay!

There are several famous landmarks in the United Realms:

  • Paillalco Lake in Ngulusia - the only lake in the United Realms, it is known for being one of the clearest lakes in the world.
  • Küxal Catacombs in the capital city of Antüria - built in 1755, it served as the resting place of members of the then-imperial House of Küxal-Kofi. It is also considered to be one of the most haunted locations in the United Realms.
  • St. Isabela, Lady of the Songbirds Statue in Antüria - built in 1778 in honor of Queen Isabela of Oronia.
  • Esmeralda Building – the headquarters for El Delfín, an insurance company, its rounded cupola is covered with 30000 leaves of 30000 leaves of 24 carat gold, and is topped with a dolphin sculpture.
  • National Galleries in Antüria - a collection of museums and research centers, including the National Astrophysical Observatory and National Zoological Park.

Daily Question #7: Sport is murder!

The most popular sport in the United Realms is association football. There are 110 football teams – each representing a province – registered with the Oronian Football Association (AFO). The AFO organizes the Copa Orona, the official football cup competition, with support from the constituent realms’ football associations; the top five teams with the most wins include the Soles Antürinos (Antürian Suns), Jaguares Kurarinos (Kurarian Jaguars), Buitres Kaninos (Kaninian Vultures), Gaviotas Lafkenos (Lafkenian Seagulls), and Caballeros de Río Kowarinos (Kowarian River Knights). When competing in international competitions, such as the Copa América or World Cup, the AFO recruits from the various football teams to create a national team.

Daily Question #7: Sport is murder!
What is your nation's most popular sport?

Motorsports. Hospeans enjoy Association Football but most prefer a good car race to a football match.
Motor races have been going on in Hospe since the 1920s, a period of great prosperity for many, leading to great amounts of young men(and women) purchasing cars and taking them down to Freeland Harbour to show off. The S1 open wheel racing series and it's various feeder series are contested by a large amount of international drivers and teams and is watched by millions around the world, it's fanbase only growing with each passing season. A cultural icon, the Freeland Harbour district with it's lack of speed limits and well maintained roads is the site of many a street race, and it's appearance in several racing video games and movies for this purpose has been important in shaping Hospe's international image. There's even a speed boat racing league. What started as a bunch of local fishermen duking it out in the Fairbanks channel is now a multi-million dollar racing league with high tech machinery and lucrative TV rights.
Land or sea, two wheels or four, if there's a bunch of guys driving machines too fast for their own good, a Hospean will watch it and pay good money too.

What is your nation's most popular sport?

Football/soccer is by far the most popular sport in Laasmistan. However, some more localized traditional sports also enjoy widespread popularity within the nation. These include falconry and camel racing. It should be noted that strict regulations are in place on order to protect the animals utilized in such activities.

Additionally, all major sports have both male and female leagues/teams.

Competitive shooting. The professional leagues usually compete to see who can hit the most targets at 150-200 yards away.

Daily Question #7: Sport is murder!
What is your nation's most popular sport?

The most popular sport in Tangatarehua is rugby union. Rugby league is also popular, as is American football and cricket. Martial arts, boxing and cage-fighting also draw in huge crowds.

The most popular native sport is Paddle-fighting, in which two men literally beat each other over the head with large paddles until one of them falls unconscious or dies (death is very common in this controversial sport.)

By contrast, Association football (aka 'soccer', known in Tangatarehua as 'British Football') never caught on and has next to no popularity - the rest of the world's obsession with the sport is something of a mystery to most Rehuans.

Daily Question #7: Sport is murder! (No, ruck you. Sport is Life!)

Lisanderian people loves sport (In fact, Lisander exists mostly to NS Sports). When it comes to Team Sports, Rugby Union is the favourite sport in the capital city of Soria. Lisander even won the Rugby World Cup once. Field Hockey takes place of Rugby when it comes to female sport. Association Football is pervasively common and popular, and there's a system with more than 120 clubs among professional and amateur (consider that, for RP purposes, Lisander is a small nation with around 12 million people). Basketball is the favourite sport in Agricultural Midnorth, because a football pitch would be a waste of arable land, and for those people, agriculture is everything. "Individual Sports" are varied and there's a lot of people playing different stuff. Cycling and Tennis are the most practiced sports. Fencing, Sailing and Motorsports are sports where Lisanderians always get some good results, but since they're quite expensive in terms of equipment, the number of athletes is smaller.
The Principality of Lisander, a sports loving, very highly developed nation in Astyria.
Disappointing people and missing deadlines since 2013.
