Section Two - Government Stances on LGBT+ Issues
Expanding on answers past "yes/no" is appreciated where possible/applicable.

5/ Are LGBT+ citizens in your nation commonly subjected to discrimination online and/or in person? Yes. It is baked into the system that the LGBT+ community is demonic, abominable and to be killed.
6/ If pride parades or similar occur in your nation, are they met with counter-marches or other resistance? They do not occur, and if they did they would be met with military force.

OOC: Just wanted to get IRL Hong Kong on the list, I live there and answers are my anecdotal experience.
Your nation's name as you'd like it to appear on the index (usually does not include pretitle) Hong Kong
Your nation's current year 2024
Your nation's IC population 7.346 million
Would you like to receive a TG updating you when your nation has been scored? Yes
Please confirm your nation is primarily inhabited by humans. Well, it's a *real life place*...
You may request a breakdown of your score via TG once it is processed. Note that any requests for breakdowns or additional information are only processed when the queue of submissions is empty.

Section One - Legally Enforcable Rights
Expanding on answers past "yes/no" is appreciated where possible/applicable.
1/ Are your nation's citizens permitted to marry or form civil unions with those of the same sex?
Complicated. Currently, it is allowed in one of these situations:[list]
1. It is originally a heterosexual marriage, but one party changes their gender (W v Registrar of Marriages, [2013] HKCFA 39)
2. It is homosexual to begin with, but one party is transgender and legally speaking, it is heterosexual (e.g. a trans woman dating a cis woman)
Moreover, after the ruling for Sham Tsz Kit v. Secretary for Justice, [2023] HKCFA 28, the Court of Final Appeals has stated that Hong Kong must either legislate same-sex marriage, or provide some sort of recognition for such marriages performed elsewhere.

2/ Are persons in same-sex relationships permitted to adopt or otherwise raise children?
As far as I'm aware, no.

3/ Are your nation's LGBT+ citizens protected by hate speech and general anti-discrimination legislation?
Yes for homosexual people, no for transgender and gender non-conforming people.

4/ Do your nation's citizens have the right to withhold goods and/or services from LGBT+ people?
Yes, this is a free economy.

5/ Do citizens who are gender transitioning have the right to alter their legal name(s) and documents? If so, how difficult is this process?
Allowed, and can be done arbitrary for however many times by deeds poll.

6/ Are there large national and/or regional pro-LGBT+ groups within your nation?
There are quite a few, and they are visible. Wouldn't say major though - civic participation's gone down the shitter lately.

7/ If yes, do these groups and the individuals associated with them have the right to free assembly and/or public protest?
Legally yes, practically iffy - sometimes it's allowed, sometimes not, as I said, civic participation has gone down the shitter.

8/ Do your nation's LGBT+ individuals and groups have the right to free speech both in person and online?
Yes, at least if it doesn't touch politics and doesn't violate the National Security Law - then again, that applies to everyone.

9/ Are your nation's LGBT+ citizens protected from discrimination in the workplace, during education, and while using public services?
Yes for homosexuals in government jobs only, no for all other cases.

10/ Are your nation's trans citizens specifically banned from participating in sporting activities based on their preferred gender identity?
I won't say banned, more like not accepted.

I think there exists some.

Yes, offered by the Prince of Wales Hospital (58-week waitlist) for public hospitals, or you can go see a private doctor.

Everything from voice training, to psychiatry, to endocrinology, and by some sources surgery (after a very long wait).

Depends on circle. I give LIHKG a very wide berth.

Your nation's name as you'd like it to appear on the index (usually does not include pretitle): Einaro
Your nation's current year: 2024
Your nation's IC population: 15.8 million (city proper), 16.1 million (greater Einaro)
Would you like to receive a TG updating you when your nation has been scored? Sure
Please confirm your nation is primarily inhabited by humans. Primarily inhabited AND fully ruled by humans.
You may request a breakdown of your score via TG once it is processed. Note that any requests for breakdowns or additional information are only processed when the queue of submissions is empty.

Section One - Legally Enforceable Rights
Expanding on answers past "yes/no" is appreciated where possible/applicable.
1/ Are your nation's citizens permitted to marry or form civil unions with those of the same sex? No. Cohabitation is allowed, but individuals must stay in the closet while doing so.
2/ Are persons in same-sex relationships permitted to adopt or otherwise raise children? No. Openly LGBT+ individuals are barred from adopting and raising children as well, and those in the closet who adopt are closely monitored. Any attempts to raise a child as pro-LGBT will result in CPS removing that child from the home, and criminal charges may be filed against the offending parents.
3/ Are your nation's LGBT+ citizens protected by hate speech and general anti-discrimination legislation? No. Plus, hate speech against the LGBT is quite common in Einaro.
4/ Do your nation's citizens have the right to withhold goods and/or services from LGBT+ people? Yes.
5/ Do citizens who are gender transitioning have the right to alter their legal name(s) and documents? If so, how difficult is this process? No. Thus, there is no process.
6/ Are there large national and/or regional pro-LGBT+ groups within your nation? No. The pro-LGBT+ groups that DO exist are extremely small in numbers (i.e. less than 1000 members at best).
7/ If yes, do these groups and the individuals associated with them have the right to free assembly and/or public protest? N/A (no large groups existing). The small groups do not have rights to public protest, and free assembly is fairly restricted as well.
8/ Do your nation's LGBT+ individuals and groups have the right to free speech both in person and online? No.
9/ Are your nation's LGBT+ citizens protected from discrimination in the workplace, during education, and while using public services? Only public services are where LGBT+ citizens cannot be discriminated against (e.g. they can get the same healthcare, education, and social services a non-LGBT+ citizen gets, plus access public buildings). Private companies that don't provide essential goods and services are free to discriminate against LGBT+ individuals.
10/ Are your nation's trans citizens specifically banned from participating in sporting activities based on their preferred gender identity? Yes. They are either forced to participate based on their birth sex or barred from participating entirely.

Section Two - Government Stances on LGBT+ Issues
Expanding on answers past "yes/no" is appreciated where possible/applicable.
1/ Are LGBT+ topics covered in your nation's education system? Please give details. Yes, but most topics are covered in a negative light. LGBT+ individuals are portrayed negatively, and even those who made a positive impact on either Einaro or the rest of the world are criticized for their identity.
2/ Are LGBT+ voices taken into account when legislation is being developed and debated within your nation's legal system? No, unless legislation specifically deals with what LGBT+ individuals can and cannot do.
3/ Does your nation take refugees from other countries who are persecuted on the basis of their sexual or gender identity? We don't take refugees in general, so no. Pro-refugee parties are generally against allowing LGBT+ refugees to come to Einaro.
4/ Does your nation's armed forces (or equivalent) allow LGBT+ people entry? Surprisingly, yes.
5/ If yes, are they permitted to be open about their gender or sexual identity? No. Any openness results in dishonourable discharge.
6/ Does your government recognize "X" or an equivalent non-binary gender identity on official documentation? Official documentation allows "I" for intersex people. Otherwise, no.
7/ Does your nation's legal system recognize the "trans panic" and/or "gay panic" defence(s) as valid? Yes, but this defence will only slightly reduce the severity of a convicted individual's sentence.
8/ Does your government allow pride flags to be flown alongside the national flag at official events and ceremonies? No. Public displays of pride flags are forbidden, and possessing a pride flag for private use can result in social ostracism.
9/ Does your government allow discussion and debate of LGBT+ issues within its legislature? Currently yes, although this permission of discussion will be stamped out before 2024's end.
10/ Does your government recognize LGBT+ charities as valid and allow tax-deductible donations? No, and no.

Section Three - Healthcare:
Expanding on answers past "yes/no" is appreciated where possible/applicable.
1/ Do your nation's LGBT+ citizens have access to specialist sexual health services? No.
2/ (If applicable) Which aspects of gender transition are covered by your nation's healthcare system? No aspects are covered outside of de-transition.
3/ Do your nation's trans citizens have access to hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and/or sexual reassignment surgery (SRS)? No.
4/ Are your nation's trans citizens required to go through "real life experience" (RLE) before having access to treatment? They don't get access to treatment, so N/A.
5/ Are your nation's citizens permitted to import their own medication for the purposes of hormone replacement therapy (HRT)? No.
6/ What your nation's age of majority when making decisions regarding HRT and SRS? N/A.
7/ Do your nation's trans citizens have access to puberty blockers? No.
8/ Is pre- and post-transition physical and mental healthcare available to your nation's trans citizens? No. De-transition physical and mental healthcare is, however.
9/ Do your nation's trans citizens have access to other gender-affirming healthcare and resources? No.
10/ Are medical professionals or teaching staff required to "out" LGBT youth to their parents if they are below the age of majority? Yes.

Section Four - Societal Attitudes
Expanding on answers past "yes/no" is appreciated where possible/applicable.
1/ What percentage of your nation's citizens support same-sex marriage? Around 1%.
2/ What percentage of your nation's citizens support same-sex adoption? Less than 1%.
3/ What percentage of your nation's citizens support peoples' right to transition? Less than 0.5%.
4/ Is there a taboo or stigma surrounding the discussion of LGBT+ issues in your nation? If those issues involve recognizing LGBT+ issues and/or de-stigmatization of the LGBT+ community, yes.
5/ Are LGBT+ citizens in your nation commonly subjected to discrimination online and/or in person? Yes.
6/ If pride parades or similar occur in your nation, are they met with counter-marches or other resistance? Pride parade attempts, due to the small size of LGBT+ individuals within Einaro combined with the lack of support for pride parades, are quickly crushed by police resistance.
7/ If applicable to your dialect(s), are your nation's citizens generally accepting of someone's pronouns when they transition? No.
8/ Are the major religious groups within your nation generally accepting of LGBT+ people and their lifestyles? No.
9/ How prevalent are gender-neutral bathrooms/restrooms in your nation? The closest Einaro has to gender-neutral washrooms are handicapped washrooms. That said, handicapped washrooms are mandatory in public buildings and common in private businesses as well.
10/ What are the opinions on LGBT+ issues from your nation's academia? Over 95% of academics disapprove of same-sex marriage and adoption, over 90% disapprove of LGBT+ people in particular, and nearly 70% of individuals believe the government is too lenient with LGBT-related legislation (i.e. they want homosexuality criminalized entirely and/or any anti-discrimination laws existing abolished).

Section Five - Media and Political Representation
Expanding on answers past "yes/no" is appreciated where possible/applicable.
1/ Are there prominent pro-LGBT+ media figures in your nation's news and entertainment sphere? No.
2/ Are there prominent anti-LGBT+ media figures in your nation's news and entertainment sphere? If so, how popular are they? Almost every media figure in Einaro is explicitly anti-LGBT+. Some of them are extremely popular, some slightly less so.
3/ Are there prominent LGBT+ role models for young people displayed in your nation's media? No.
4/ Are LGBT+ people able to see relatable characters in your nation's prominent works of fiction? LGBT+ individuals in Einaroan fiction are depicted quite negatively, so no.
5/ Does support for LGBT+ people vary greatly depending on the region/state you live in? Do laws differ greatly? The majority of support for LGBT+ individuals is outside of the main city, and even there it doesn't exceed 2% of any given outer region. Laws do not differ, and enforcement differs very little (i.e. there is slightly less enforcement outside of the main city).
6/ Do explicitly pro-LGBT+ parties exist in your nation's political sphere? If so, what support do they have? The Green Party is the only pro-LGBT party in Einaro, but they only have about 1% of the population's support. The Progressive Party is LGBT-neutral, and has about 6% of the population's support.
7/ Do explicitly anti-LGBT+ parties exist in your nation's political sphere? If so, what support do they have? The Socialists, New Reformation, Liberal, Conservative, Free Christian National, Orthodox, and Catholic Social parties are anti-LGBT to varying degrees, with 9%, 27%, 9%, 9%, 32%, 2%, and 4% support respectively.
8/ Are there prominent politicians or public servants who are openly LGBT+? No.
9/ Are there prominent pro-LGBT+ voices within your nation's ruling party? Neither the New Reformation nor Free Christian National parties have prominent pro-LGBT voices.
10/ Are LGBT+ people permitted to run for election or your nation's equivalent political process? Are they permitted to lead the nation? No, and no.

(OPTIONAL) - More information
We would appreciate filling in as much of this information as possible. However, this is not required to receive a complete score, and filling this information out will not change your score in any way. This information may be used by us for research and other survey-wide analysis purposes.

What type of Government does your country have? Semi-presidential constitutional republic.
What percentage of the population is estimated to be LGBT+? About 0.1-0.2% (around 15,000-30,000 people total)

Your nation's name as you'd like it to appear on the index (usually does not include pretitle) Norskjavik
Your nation's current year 2022
Your nation's IC population 11 000 000
Would you like to receive a TG updating you when your nation has been scored? Yes, please!
Please confirm your nation is primarily inhabited by humans. Yes

Yes, marriage between same-sex couples is legal!
2/ Are persons in same-sex relationships permitted to adopt or otherwise raise children? Yes, adoption is legal
3/ Are your nation's LGBT+ citizens protected by hate speech and general anti-discrimination legislation? Yes, all members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community are protected by hate speech laws and anti-discrimination legislation, including trans members.
4/ Do your nation's citizens have the right to withhold goods and/or services from LGBT+ people? No, one cannot revoke service on any basis that would violate our laws, including ethnic origin, gender, language, sexuality, and so on.
5/ Do citizens who are gender transitioning have the right to alter their legal name(s) and documents? If so, how difficult is this process? Yes, citizens who are transitioning have the right to alter their legal names and documents. The process is fairly easy, with the citizen having to visit a government office, request a change and then the paperwork and relevant documentation will be changed. Identification will be shown to initiate such a process, and their birth certificate will be handed in. After a couple of weeks, the documents will be reissued with updated pronouns, photos, etc. Overall, this process is simple but I haven't worked it out unfortunately, it's not too exciting. No fee is required.
6/ Are there large national and/or regional pro-LGBT+ groups within your nation? Yes, most communities have pro-LGBTQ groups along with regional groups and national groups. For example, the LGBT Foeyrar is a regional group working to advance LGBTQ+ rights in the Foeyrar region. Pride parades are a special time of the year, with many members of the community working to host events and further diversity and acceptance.
7/ If yes, do these groups and the individuals associated with them have the right to free assembly and/or public protest? Yes, the right to public assembly and peaceful protest is a right.
8/ Do your nation's LGBT+ individuals and groups have the right to free speech both in person and online? We have freedom of expression, meaning one can effectively say, believe, express, and represent what they believe so as it does not involve harm to others or threats. For the purpose of this question, the answer would be yes!
9/ Are your nation's LGBT+ citizens protected from discrimination in the workplace, during education, and while using public services? Yes, our discrimination laws prohibit discrimination against LGBTQIA citizens on any basis (gender, orientation, race, language, religion, age, disability, family status, etc), as upheld through legislation passed through the Våpnenið and court cases.
10/ Are your nation's trans citizens specifically banned from participating in sporting activities based on their preferred gender identity? No, trans citizens are not banned from sporting activities based on gender identity, especially if under 18. Seeing as we lack any major sports organizations or leagues, numerous court cases have upheld trans citizens' rights to participate in sports under their preferred gender identity.

Section Two - Government Stances on LGBT+ Issues
Expanding on answers past "yes/no" is appreciated where possible/applicable.
1/ Are LGBT+ topics covered in your nation's education system? Please give details. Yes, education focuses on tolerance and acceptance as a whole. Racism, homophobia, transphobia, and so on are discussed around 7-9 grade. The diversity of families, gender expression, sexuality, and people (as a whole) are discussed until age 16. Sex education involves segments on feeling comfortable with your body, giving introductions to human sexuality (mostly non-heterosexuality). At around 16, deeper topics are delved into, discussing variations in relationships, heterosexual and non-heterosexual relations, personal protection, suicide prevention, mental health, physical health, and deeper discussion of puberty and drugs/diseases. Parents often discuss topics with their kids at younger ages, helping kids be more open-minded younger and ready to ask questions.
2/ Are LGBT+ voices taken into account when legislation is being developed and debated within your nation's legal system? Yes, LGBTQ voices are taken into account when legislation is being adopted, especially as it pertains to LGBTQ rights and livelihoods. It is in a way similar to that of Indigenous voices and voices from other minorities. Most legislation is surveyed by poll groups and then data is broken down to see what groups oppose or support legislation. If legislation primarily affects LGBTQ citizens, their voices will be taken into account much, much more (akin to that of Indigenous voices when legislation would affect their lives).
3/ Does your nation take refugees from other countries who are persecuted on the basis of their sexual or gender identity? Yes, our nation considers those fleeing persecution based on sexual, gender, and religious identity to be refugees, thereby entitling them to full legal protection and asylum/benefits from the state.
4/ Does your nation's armed forces (or equivalent) allow LGBT+ people entry? Yes, LGBTQ people are allowed to serve in the armed forces.
5/ If yes, are they permitted to be open about their gender or sexual identity? Yes, of course!
6/ Does your government recognise "X" or an equivalent non-binary gender identity on official documentation? Yes!!
7/ Does your nation's legal system recognise the "trans panic" and/or "gay panic" defence(s) as valid? No, why would we?
8/ Does your government allow pride flags to be flown alongside the national flag at official events and ceremonies? Yes, pride flags can be flown alongside national, regional, and municipal flags. Throughout June, pride flags are flown at government offices, with the palace often being draped in pride symbols, expressing the country's support for the community.
9/ Does your government allow discussion and debate of LGBT+ issues within its legislature? Yes, such discussion is allowed, with a substantial proportion of members identifying as part of the community. Debates attempting to strip rights are often shut down and the member expelled as it can be considered an illegal action under our code of conduct.
10/ Does your government recognise LGBT+ charities as valid and allow tax-deductible donations? Yes, LGBTQ+ charities are seen as valid charities and tax-deductible donations are allowed.

Section Three - Healthcare:
Expanding on answers past "yes/no" is appreciated where possible/applicable.
1/ Do your nation's LGBT+ citizens have access to specialist sexual health services? Yes
2/ (If applicable) Which aspects of gender transition are covered by your nation's healthcare system? I must admit that I lack much knowledge in this aspect, but hormone replacement therapy, sex-reassignment surgery, and other procedures are covered generally free-of cost by out national health service (paid through by taxation). Any prescription medications are available at the cost of any other drug, being around 120 kroner (around 10 USD). Therapy is also covered for all citizens.
3/ Do your nation's trans citizens have access to hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and/or sexual reassignment surgery (SRS)? Yes
4/ Are your nation's trans citizens required to go through "real life experience" (RLE) before having access to treatment? No
5/ Are your nation's citizens permitted to import their own medication for the purposes of hormone replacement therapy (HRT)? Yes, so long as they are recognized as safe by the government. The government recommends seeing a professional to ensure their medication is safe if not on the approved list.
6/ What your nation's age of majority when making decisions regarding HRT and SRS? Generally 15 (with parental consent), but 17/18 depending on region. If younger, exceptions can be made with approval from guardians and their physician and a therapist. HRT is often required for around a year before SRS (meaning one could take HRT at age 15 and then get SRS at age 16). They are both seen as legal rights in Norskjavik. Again, I lack much knowledge in this area, so this survey will help me broaden my knowledge!
7/ Do your nation's trans citizens have access to puberty blockers? If so, from what age are they available? Yes, at age 14, but 15 is most common.
8/ Is pre and post-transition physical and mental healthcare available to your nation's trans citizens? Yes, and it is recommended and covered by our universal healthcare system.
9/ Do your nation's trans citizens have access to other gender-affirming healthcare and resources? Yes, of course!
10/ Are medical professionals or teaching staff required to "out" LGBT youth to their parents if they are below the age of majority? No, this is not required unless there is a risk of danger to self or others, but outting is not a part of this process as it would most likely be more harmful to the youth, especially if the parents are not supportive.

Section Four - Societal Attitudes
Expanding on answers past "yes/no" is appreciated where possible/applicable.
1/ What percentage of your nation's citizens support same-sex marriage? No national survey has been taken, but it is estimated around 89%.

6/ If pride parades or similar occur in your nation, are they met with counter-marches or other resistance? No, if counter-protests do happen they pale in comparison to the pride parade with only a few individuals. Police do their best to ensure no hostilities occur.
7/ If applicable to your dialect(s), are your nation's citizens generally accepting of someone's pronouns when they transition? Yes, this also includes gender-neutral pronouns!
8/ Are the major religious groups within your nation generally accepting of LGBT+ people and their lifestyles? Yes, many have softened their stance and now support universal human rights (as that's what Jesus would want).
9/ How prevalent are gender-neutral bathrooms/restrooms in your nation? Most washrooms are gender-neutral in public spaces, including schools.
10/ What are the opinions on LGBT+ issues from your nation's academia? Mostly pro-LGBTQ and supportive of the community's rights.

Section Five - Media and Political Representation
Expanding on answers past "yes/no" is appreciated where possible/applicable.
1/ Are there prominent pro-LGBT+ media figures in your nation's news and entertainment sphere? If so, how popular are they? Yes, the majority of people are pro-LGBTQ, so there are many popular radio, television, news, actors, directors, and online personas.
2/ Are there prominent anti-LGBT+ media figures in your nation's news and entertainment sphere? If so, how popular are they? Not really, as they hold very small roles and are often criticized by larger media, including the national broadcaster.

All parties are officially in support of LGBTQ rights, meaning 100% of parties represented in the legislature are pro-LGBTQ to a degree.
7/ Do explicitly anti-LGBT+ parties exist in your nation's political sphere? If so, what support do they have? No, no party campaigns on anti-LGBTQ rhetoric, with individual members holding such views, but often being kicked out of their party lists in the next election, as it is very unpopular amongst voters to be anti-LGBTQ rights.
8/ Are there prominent politicians or public servants who are openly LGBT+? Yes, our former prime minister was openly lesbian and many politicians from a variety of parties across the political spectrum have members that are openly queer. Many current cabinet ministers are openly LGBTQ as well.
9/ Are there prominent pro-LGBT+ voices within your nation's ruling party? Yes, our ruling government is a coalition between the Left-Greens, Social Democrats, People's, Progress, and Bright Future. They all contain at least one member that is prominent for their pro-LGBTQ stance, with most members being pro- to very pro-LGBTQ rights.
10/ Are LGBT+ people permitted to run for election or your nation's equivalent political process? Are they permitted to lead the nation? Yes (for both), see the former two questions :)

Any suggestions or comments on how to improve?
I loved how much I learned about this issue and the general community (coming from a person that's in it). I have so much more that I can learn and delve into (probably rabbitholes tbh), which I see as the best part of the whole survey. I would like to see maybe an LGBTQ history section to provide a timeline of like legalization of marriage and decriminalization and the like. Yeah, overall, one of the best surveys I've participated in and it was very thought-provoking! :)

Please confirm your nation is primarily inhabited by humans. Yes

Yes, and has de facto always been allowed as the laws around marriage deliberately use gender neutral language due to differing cultural practices surrounding matriarchy/patriarchy across county lines.

5/ Do citizens who are gender transitioning have the right to alter their legal name(s) and documents? If so, how difficult is this process? They have this right, and as all given names in Locuterric are roots, with the endings -a, -o, and -u used for feminine, masculine, and neutral respectively, this process can be as easy as changing which letter your name ends with (i.e. Samo is short for Samuelo, and Sama is short for Samanta).

2/ Are LGBT+ voices taken into account when legislation is being developed and debated within your nation's legal system? Yes. Such interest groups are known as Consortiums in Locuterric politics
3/ Does your nation take refugees from other countries who are persecuted on the basis of their sexual or gender identity? Yes, though typically with most refugees they're typically allocated to live in major urban areas, as rural to small-city Locuterrica is a difficult environment to integrate with.
4/ Does your nation's armed forces (or equivalent) allow LGBT+ people entry? Yes
5/ If yes, are they permitted to be open about their gender or sexual identity? Yes
6/ Does your government recognise "X" or an equivalent non-binary gender identity on official documentation? Yes, which is referred to as "U" on all documents used solely within Locuterrica.

10/ What are the opinions on LGBT+ issues from your nation's academia? While generally positive, the exact angle taken depends on who you talk to. 10/ Are medical professionals or teaching staff required to "out" LGBT youth to their parents if they are below the age of majority? There is no official rule allowing or banning this, although in practice it is illegal and considered a violation of confidentiality.

Section Four - Societal Attitudes
Expanding on answers past "yes/no" is appreciated where possible/applicable.
1/ What percentage of your nation's citizens support same-sex marriage? 56%
2/ What percentage of your nation's citizens support same-sex adoption? Adoption in general is not legal in Omišalia, so this is not applicable.
3/ What percentage of your nation's citizens support peoples' right to transition? 52%
4/ Is there a taboo or stigma surrounding the discussion of LGBT+ issues in your nation?
5/ Are LGBT+ citizens in your nation commonly subjected to discrimination online and/or in person? This generally depends on the part of the country, with in-person discrimination being more common in the more rural parts of Omišalia. In the big cities, discrimination is significantly less common.
6/ If pride parades or similar occur in your nation, are they met with counter-marches or other resistance? Some counter-marches have occurred along the annual Humenné Pride in the past; in recent years, no counter-marches have occurred. However, other pride parades and protests for LGBTQIA+ rights have been met with resistance.
7/ If applicable to your dialect(s), are your nation's citizens generally accepting of someone's pronouns when they transition? Most Slovak speakers generally try to adjust their pronoun usage to the correct one. There is a neutral pronoun, but considering it literally translates to "it", some persons use an alternative or don't use pronouns altogether. Hungarian does not have gendered pronouns. A common error involves the surname suffix -ová not being written as part of the surname of trans women, or the suffix being incorrectly added to the surname of trans men or non-binary persons.
8/ Are the major religious groups within your nation generally accepting of LGBT+ people and their lifestyles? Most religious groups are generally not accepting of LGBTQIA+ persons.
9/ How prevalent are gender-neutral bathrooms/restrooms in your nation? Except in Humenné, gender-neutral bathrooms are generally uncommon in public spaces.
10/ What are the opinions on LGBT+ issues from your nation's academia? Generally positive.

Section Five - Media and Political Representation
Expanding on answers past "yes/no" is appreciated where possible/applicable.
1/ Are there prominent pro-LGBT+ media figures in your nation's news and entertainment sphere? If so, how popular are they? There are numerous popular figures within the Omišalian entertainment sphere who are openly part of the LGBTQIA+ community, and most celebrities are generally supportive.
2/ Are there prominent anti-LGBT+ media figures in your nation's news and entertainment sphere? If so, how popular are they? Yes. An example of this is the famous singer-turned-politician Radoslav Haušild, who has openly made homo- and transphobic statements in the past, although he has apologized for some of his most extreme statements.
3/ Are there prominent LGBT+ role models for young people displayed in your nation's media? Yes.
4/ Are LGBT+ people able to see relatable characters in your nation's prominent works of fiction? Yes.
5/ Does support for LGBT+ people vary greatly depending on the region/state you live in? Do laws differ greatly? Omišalia is a unitary state, and as such laws protecting the LGBTQIA+ community apply to the entire nation. However, the acceptance of LGBTQIA+ persons is generally higher in the country's urban areas, with over 75% of those surveyed on this subject in Humenné being in favour, while this figure is below 40% in the province of Užhorod.
6/ Do explicitly pro-LGBT+ parties exist in your nation's political sphere? If so, what support do they have? The left-wing Dawn party and the centre-left Future Movement have both championed proposals to improve LGBTQIA+ rights in Omišalia, such as a legal third gender option and increased protection from discrimination.
7/ Do explicitly anti-LGBT+ parties exist in your nation's political sphere? If so, what support do they have? The right-wing Sovereign Omišalia party is opposed to gay marriage and gender transition, and it is currently the largest party in the National Assembly. However, their coalition agreement with the Freedom Party and the Independent Smallholders' Party is significantly less harsh, and states that the coalition will work to "keep the current status quo regarding the right of the LGBT community". The Communist Party of Omišalia is highly socially conservative and has staunchly opposed LGBTQIA+ rights, but the Communist Party is not very politically relevant and only managed to elect a single MP in the most recent election.
8/ Are there prominent politicians or public servants who are openly LGBT+? Considering the fact that Prime Minister Vít Výkukal is single and has not had any relationships, it is often assumed that he is aromantic, although this has not been officially confirmed. There are several other notable LGBTQIA+ politicians, including Dávid Čápek, the mayor of Humenné.
9/ Are there prominent pro-LGBT+ voices within your nation's ruling party? The current ruling coalition in Omišalia is a coalition of three parties. While the Sovereign Omišalia party is generally not supportive, its coalition partners are generally neutral or moderately in favour, and compromises made between Sovereign Omišalia and its coalition partners have caused the policy of the current government to be moderately in favour of LGBTQIA+ rights.
10/ Are LGBT+ people permitted to run for election or your nation's equivalent political process? Are they permitted to lead the nation? Any Omišalian citizen above the age of 18 who is legally sane and not incarcerated can run for election, including members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
