Democratic Republic of Gandoor
OFFICIAL MESSAGE FROM THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS DATED 10 FEBRUARY 2025
The Democratic Republic of Gandoor is a large and populous nation located in the Pacific Ocean, neighbouring Indonesia and Papua New Guinea to the southwest and the Philippines to the west. An officially multilingual nation, the languages of English, Japanese, and Russian are all recognized as official and have equal status under the law.
Having officially been governed as a parliamentary republic (albeit one with some influences from presidential republics) since 1904, the left-wing Gandoor Communist Party has controlled both our legislature, the Forum, and the Office of Prime Minister since October 2024.
Gandoor is widely considered to be left-wing country, as evidenced by the fact that our two major political parties, the Gandoor Communist Party and the New Democratic Party, identify themselves as left-wing and centre-left, respectively. Contrary to popular belief, however, the Democratic Republic is not a socialist state, as our country currently practices an economic system modelled after the Nordic model used in Northern Europe.
The Democratic Republic has a long-standing stance of neutrality in most global affairs, primarily due to our nation's unpopular participation in the First World War. However, despite this neutrality, we are not an isolationist country and do invite the nations of the world to formally establish embassies in our great nation.
To start, please familiarize yourself with the following table, which summarizes the basic rights your ambassadors or ambassadorial staff will have within the Democratic Republic:
