People in the central region believe they’re more important than every other Subhurbian just because their origins are in the center of the nation and they are the original “Subhurbian” people. People in the Yang World (the east, south, and southeast) are more social, competitive, interactive, and ego oriented. People in the Yin World (the west, north, and northwest) are more refined, prudent, reserved, and deep. But there are even differences amongst these nations as well. East Subhurbians are interactive, fun, freedom loving, and carefree. Some are highly eccentric, intelligent, and witty. South Subhurbians are righteous, warm, and friendly. Some are adventurous, some are highly competitive. Southeast Subhurbians are dynamic, powerful but also witty. West Subhurbians place a lot of emphasis on emotional connections between individuals. They are compassionate and promote good will. Some are highly spiritual. North Subhurbians are practical minded, patient people. They are very prudent to the point children there are well behaved. Northerners are also seen as hard workers. Northwest Subhurbians are very private and emotional oriented. Northeast Subhurbians are highly left brained, therefore being very sophisticated and rational. Emotional expression is looked down upon. Southwest Subhurbians are the opposite. They are highly right brained, therefore being highly intuitive and creative.

Due to the distance between Earth and Mars, Carena has granted the Carenian Martian Authority a great deal of autonomy, however the CMA still adheres to the Carenian Constitution and has it's defense and foreign affairs handled by Carena. It shares this status with the Martian Republic of Deseret, another Carenian colony established by Mormon colonists. Along with Deseret, the CMA also shares the Red Planet with the People's Republic of Mars (the Chinese equivalent to the CMA), the American Republic of Mars (a joint colony managed by all the nations in the Latin American Space Union), and the Martian Free State (a truly independent Martian state descended from private colonist companies such as SpaceX and Boeing)
