The Armed Forces of The Empire of Common Territories

Dear nations, peoples, and potential future soldiers,

The Empire of Common Territories is a large and always expanding nation. TECT is always growing whether it is by land, population, or by settlements. As such, the Empire requires soldiers for the defense of her lands and to protect the people of this nation. TECT's military is already state of the art, has a good personnel count, an excellent budget, and special benefits for its soldiers. It is with enthusiasm and excitement that the passing of the "Foreign Legion Act" has authorized the creation of a Foreign Legion unit in the TECT Armed Forces.

The Armed Forces of TECT invites people of foreign nations, nation's willing to volunteer soldiers, and anyone else willing to enlist and volunteer in the new Commoner Foreign Legion. The Commoner Foreign Legion is the new elite branch that will be placed under the TECT Imperial Army until further notice. It will be made up of TECT commanding officers and volunteers from across the world. This unit (that will not be limited in size) will be classified as light infantry and will not be operating any larger vehicles, naval, or aircraft for the time being. Foreign volunteers will make up most of the personnel including commanding officers and basic members. Officers both high and low will be chosen by highest experiences and greatest potential. The requirements to join the C.F.L. will be as followed.

  • Be between the ages of 18 to 45.
  • Be physically fit for military duty.
  • You must be male.
  • Have no criminal record (violent or major crime) of any kind in TECT.
  • English or German is needed but not mandatory. English will be taught during training or after training.
  • Valid identification (with photo) is needed for both security and identification purposes.
  • Not be on a banned list of immigration, watch list for national security, or other form of banning of immigrating or enlisting in the TECT Armed Forces.

Why Join the Commoner Foreign Legion?

The Commoner Foreign Legion, as said above, is an elite branch of the TECT Imperial Army for the time being. It was created to take volunteers for service in the armed force from both foreign nations and foreign military units. The Commoner Foreign Legion is accepting with open arms any nationality as long as they fit the basic profile and are not on any watch lists or banishment lists. Anyone who fits these standards can apply and make it into basic training where you will become a Commoner Legionnaire, among other generous benefits (which will be covered later). Fitting the standards allows the recruit to make it to basic training which will last 15 weeks -- training will include both military combative training and military show honors training; recruits are put to the test physically and mentally to build up their character. Recruits will be taught the Legion's four main principles which are "Strength, Honor, Integrity, and Loyalty". Recruits will come out of this training as more disciplined, independent, and most of all, a TECT citizen. Training is grueling in terms of both physical and psychological aspects but is definitely worth the effort in the end. Now you may be thinking "What's in it for me?" for enlisting -- well along with many financial benefits, there are various amounts of rewards to Legionaries. Some of these benefits are,

  • Full citizenship granted to TECT.
  • Financial assistance for schooling of your choice (in TECT).
  • Financial assistance on purchasing property/housing (in TECT).
  • Financial assistance on medical and dental insurance (in TECT).
  • Financial assistance in business adventures (in TECT).
  • Financial assistance to servicemen and/or their family.
  • Starting off Recruit pay is a Sergeants annual pay grade.
  • Feeling of honor, duty, and accomplishment.
  • Many other benefits!

The Commoner Foreign Legion is deeply rooted as an honorary unit and loyal subject of the TECT Armed Forces. Enlisting in your five year contract allows you to serve the Empire proudly as an honorary foreigner. Only the proud and faithful, honor full and strong, determined and proud people can stand tall, chest out, in pride knowing they are loyal soldiers following a unique code for a country that has accepted them with open arms. Upon completing the 15 week course, new units a traditionally marched through Main Street in Empire City, wearing their dress uniforms and displaying their loyalty to the Emperor and the country they came to serve. They march with full honor with the Emperor's watchful gaze until reaching their midway point where they recite the Commoner Legionnaire Code to the Emperor, then, the unit reports for duty after celebrating for the day. Commoner Foreign Legionnaires may not have been born in TECT but they are made and die as honorable TECT protectors of both country, Emperor, and protectors of the Commoner culture.

The Commoner Foreign Legion allows both groups of people and military units of foreign nations to enlist in the branch. Recruits are required to be in service for five years unless granted early discharge; among other requirements are: swear loyalty to the Emperor and TECT government, follow the guidelines of the TECT Armed Forces and Commoner Foreign Legion, and put your loyalty to the Commoner foreign Legion ahead of your former military forces & government. Groups of civilians are allowed to join as long as they follow the same basic principles to enlisting and provide identification as well. All recruits must send proof of identification which needs to be photographed and stamped, pass multiple check ups including national security and health, and to pledge your loyalty to the Emperor and the TECT Armed Forces.

Interested?

OCC: Please, if your planning on signing up a person or people or groups of people, please use the applications. Also, only enlist by applying a person, a group of people (non-military personnel range unlimited), and volunteering/handing over military units. Please note that military units and civilians cannot act as spies or other intelligence agents -- this message is just in case for certain people out there -- I know not everyone is like this. These units will also be permanently under my control IC and OOC since they are joining my nation (unless stated otherwise by the applying RL person or myself). When asked for identification in the applications simply say what type it is, such as a national ID card or drivers license or Passport. Finally, please remember this is a Work In Progress. Thank you.

The Commoner Foreign Legion

The Commoner Foreign Legion, also known as the C.F.L., is a branch of service under the TECT Imperial Army Command structure. It's an elite light infantry unit organized on the sole duty to recruit foreigners in exchange for added military benefits and citizenship in TECT. Currently, GEN Thorsten Weissmuller is the commanding TECT officer of the branch - Ottokar Wruck (Celisia) serves as Brigadier General & Sub-Commander and Fujikawa Juro of Nihon serves as the Imperial Sergeant Major. The C.F.L. is currently made up of two large recruitment blocks, military units donated to the CFL or groups who come from their home nations and volunteers from New Celisa, a Commoner Commonwealth state. The main purpose of the branch is to recruit willing soldiers from foreign nations to bolster numbers, experience, and innovation to the entire armed forces. The addition of an elite light infantry force also bolsters the Imperial Army's capabilities to project force in the TECT military. The promise of citizenship, benefits, and duty are the main attraction points for volunteers to enlist. Also; nations can volunteer military units for duty similar to normal volunteers.

The Commoner Foreign Legion's Oath & Code of Honor

"I am a Foreign Legionnaire. I am unlike other foreign legionnaires as I belong to the Commoner Empire and His/Her Royal Imperial Majesty the Emperor/Empress. I am unlike other Commoner soldiers - I was not born Commoner nor am I from Royals. I am not a Colonial and I am not an immigrant. My Commoner blood comes from my training and my suffering - foreign I may have been, but now Commoner I am. I am a Commoner Legionnaire. Unlike other foreign legionnaires, I protect the Commoner Empire, its Emperor/Empress, the Commoner race, and my fellow Legionnaires. I was forged into a Commoner through training -- my Strength proved me right that I am Legionnaire capable. I have Honor crafted from the weeks of training and suffering I and my comrades struggled through. My Integrity is strong - Commoner strong - which allowed me to endure my training and stand up for my Empire and my Emperor. My Loyalty is unbound to my Empire and my Emperor - which is guided by my superiors which are placed above me and my comrades who serve beside me. Our trust in each other is what makes us strong.

I hereby pledge my undying loyalty to my Empire, my Emperor, and my legionnaire brothers. I bestow my strength to my comrades, as we strive to enrich our futures through experience. My honor demands that I show my country, my culture, and my Legion the respect it deserves - my Emperor and Empire deserve the utmost respect. My integrity will stand as tall as the mountains of Royals, never bowing to my foes and only growing taller. And my Loyalty, which shall never quiver, will always be for my Empire, my Emperor, and my Legionnaire brothers. All Hail the Emperor! All Hail the Common!"

Dear 1st Congressional Legion,

Thank you for applying your unit to become part of the Commoner Foreign Legion. Your service will be much appreciated as you are both signing up to become members of the TECT Armed Forces and a member of TECT society. Know that your unit will be greatly appreciated by citizens of TECT for selflessly joining the cause to protect them and serve them in service to their and now your country. Your application has been accepted, congratulations!

As to your concerns. The TECT government, including the military, has a policy of separating church and state. Therefore, your religious practices will in no way be discriminated upon. We accept all religious practices as long as they do not interfere with military roles/services. Since your unit is large enough, it will in fact have its own barracks and mess hall included so there will be no worry to such a thing. But know that you will not be entirely separated from your fellow brothers in the Legion and to remain nude in your barracks and private mess hall. Thank you again for signing up for this honor and thank you for doing a service to your new country that you can call home.

With this confirmation letter you should have received further information to follow. As instructed further in your packet, you will flown out to Becker, Jackson State to fulfill your initial duties as a recruit (all paid by the government) -- medical check ups, screenings, tests, and then finally basic training. Know that this is a new start for you all and it will be a tough road paved in tough discipline, hard work, and integrity. You will all come out as new and better men in the end of your service as both a proud TECT citizen and a better human being altogether. We congratulate you on your choice once more and wish you all luck in the future.

Sincerely,

We emphasize in unity as a brotherhood and having your own private main weapon will interfere with this. It is also against standing policy to replace your main weapon and goes against the standard issued weapon policy; you along with your comrades will be given the same weapons to use. We do however allow private hand-to-hand weapons which can be registered and used as long as it does not interfere with dress uniform or combat capabilities. Thank you.

Dear 8th Royal Grenadiers,

Thank you for your interest in joining the Commoner Foreign Legion. Your unit's strength and integrity are proved by your courage to volunteer to serve our nation and our people. Our nation's alliance is also greatly honored as cooperation between our two militaries is essential to both of our nation's security. Your application has been accepted, congratulations! TECT is honored and thankful for all of your selfless sacrifices in joining our armed forces. Know that your examples of courage will be known along with your brothers here in the C.F.L. as brave men who have selflessly volunteered to serve TECT and it's people, of which you are now apart of.

With this confirmation letter your unit should have received further information to follow. As instructed further in your packet, you will be flown out to Becker, Jackson State to fulfill your initial duties as a recruit (all paid of course by the TECT government), medical check ups, screenings, tests, and then finally basic training. Know that this is a new start for your unit and it will be a difficult road ahead paved in tough discipline, hard work, and especially teamwork. You will all come out new and better men by the end of your service as both proud TECT citizens and better human beings altogether. We congratulate you on your choice once more and wish you luck in the future. As to your inquire; partly yes. While in service to the Armed Forces of TECT, your unit will be expected to put your duty, TECT, and the Emperor above everything else. Loyalty is one of our strong disciplines and it is expected that each and every volunteer be loyal to the Empire and her Emperor. You may be further loyal after your term is served to TECT or your home country; it is your choice. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Commoner Foreign Legion of TECT

Democratic Republic of Matuphumi

From the Desk of General Konh Hung Saekraeng, Matu Chief of Staff

Name of unit or organization (if applicable, if not use "N/A"): 182nd "Leaping Tigers" Infantry Regiment
Country of Origin: Democratic Republic of Matuphumi
Copy of proof of your Identities (Passports, government licenses, etc.)?: Passports.
How many in your enlisting?: 2,000
Are you all of age?: Yes.
Language(s): Matu (South Indochinese Language very close to Thai and Lao), Few know English or German.
Military records combined (military branch, what you did, what you operated, ranks, etc.)?: Honour, Duty, and Tradition. This is the motto of the 182nd Infantry Regiment, nicknamed the Leaping Tigers. First formed in 1943 as a guerrilla force fighting against the Japanese in World War II, the Leaping Tigers have been known throughout Matuphumi for the past 70 years for their Ferocity and their Fanatic Devotion to their country. A Leaping Tiger is the most devoted and fierce soldier a Commander could ask for, with such dedication to the mission that even the Japanese were impressed and somewhat afraid of their fanaticism. Combined with the best training Matuphumi can give them, they liberated Matuphumi from Japanese control almost by themselves by blowing up Japanese Supply convoys and sabotaging communications and vehicles. In the present, they are mostly used for anti-insurgent duties on occasional dissidents in the countryside. The Modern Leaping Tigers are trained in the same guerilla warfare methods as the old, and are just as efficient, ruthless, and deadly.
Your unit must be available/serving 5yrs initially unless granted early discharge. Can this be done? (mandatory requirement upon signing up): yes.
Brief description of military unit (not mandatory): Explained above.
Any concerns/questions (anything else you wish to include)?:

Fun Fact: General Cong Dinh Kaenrelang, the head of the Shining Guard, Matuphumi's Party-Sponsored Internal Police Force, and effective Fourth-In-Command of the military, was a Lt. Colonel in the 182nd from 1982 until 2013, when he was appointed head of the Shining Guard

OCC: I should not have to explain how obvious this looks to be a troll like post. Let me just say it simply though: Half of your application appears to be purposely made to be denied.
