The Zhouranese-exceptionalist phrase "周然高于一切" is highly controversial in Zhouranese discourse due to its chauvinistic nature. However, kunbangists, military-oriented nationalists and other reactionaries in the country commonly use this phrase, and not only that but some political-hardliners have also used the phrase as well, much to the disagreements of the political-moderate. Within the Zhouranese People's Army, some soldiers deployed abroad have been using this phrase too and even painting it on their armored vehicles, not to mention that some units and formations in the ZPA Ground Force, Air Force, Navy, and Public Security Corps have military field banners and ceremonial military banners that could be considered controversial.

Currently, there is a largely controversial issue surrounding the capital(s) of Neviersia. Djurma currently serves the capital city and seat of the Government of Neviersia, however, there has been recent discussion from the Government that the seat of Government should move to Queensborough, a more centrally-located city. There are several reasons for this proposal, such as the growing population density in Djurma, Queensborough being a safer, less crowded province, and allowing the seat of Government to be more centrally located rather than to be located at a north-western point. However, there are still many people around the country supporting Djurma as the official capital due to its historical significance and strategically economic location. La Paz currently serves as the judicial capital, which leads to other people saying that there should be three different capitals serving different purposes, similar to South Africa.

There have been two political parties in Aikoland known as the French Union Party.

The first party was established in 1917 and was a centre-right political party which advocated for the dissolution of the Aikolandais monarchy and the gradual merging of Aikoland with the French Republic, which they believed would ultimately be a net benefit to the people of Aikoland. This party ended up dissolving itself in 1948 in the face of widespread increase of Aikolandais national pride in the aftermath of World War II.

The second party was established in 1940 following the Axis invasion of Aikoland and split from the 1917 party. The 1940 party was a far-right political party that was anti-semitic, anti-Aikolandais, and French nationalist. They believed that there was no separate Aikolandais identity and that Aikolandais citizens were just 'French people in denial of being French' and advocated for the destruction of all 'symbols of these delusions' such as the Aikolandais Parliament, a ban on Aikolandais flags and the coat of arms, etc. The 1940 French Union Party was dissolved and banned in 1945 following the full restoration of Aikolandais sovereignty after World War II.

The Voxijan Constitution, adopted in 1919, had to be voted on by popular referendum. It took twenty-two tries to get a draft of the Constitution that two-thirds of the entire Voxijan population would approve. We still use the final draft, albeit with a few amendments, today.

Despite their nature as an enemy of the state and the West, the Communist Party of New Goldman remains the only in government communist organization of the Western Alliance to not be prohibited from running in the national elections. It doesn't practically give worth of banning them anyway, as the population is anti communist in nature.

While the People's Republic of Zhouran does not have a de jure (established by law) national sport, the nation does have three de facto (not established by law) national sports, which are Rugby Federation (rugby union), Rugby Association (rugby league), and Cricket.

In Zhouranese middle schools and high schools, it's quite common to see teenage boys play rugby in their school teams. Since Kangyuli males are on average quite tall and large-framed, foreigners will mistake a Zhouranese high-school rugby player for a young adult.

A certain rowdy rudeness has become a fact of modern life in our country: the once highly formalized language with its elaborate honorifics has been largely forgotten, replaced by a proletarian dialect full of shortenings and abbreviations. Even the writing system, once using elaborate characters, fell out of use and was replaced by a highly simplified phonetic alphabet. Curses and insults have largely lost their prohibitions and have entered everyday language. This has hed to confusion for many a diplomat that had studied older language books: being called out loudly on "capitalist assholery" when offering a trade-deal, or being referred to as "that dick from Kekistan" wasn't exactly what they expected. "Courtesy" as such was long seen as a bourgeois phenomenon and thus many officials purposefully ignored it. Much of that has been reestablished, but many remnants remain: on graduation day the principal still starts the speech with "Congrats, you punks actually made it.", policemen will call out "Hold it, Asshole!" and cashiers will ash "Whaddya want?" and then proceed to hand over the goods to confused tourists saying "here's yer shit, now fuck off."

The inception of the Mao-Suit into common clothing and its various forms that have developed until now as well have led to a certain disdain for everything related to "fashion" and the like. Clothing is worn until it breaks apart and cannot be mended anymore, styles may vary, but always favour utilitarianism. A black one made of finer wool or linnen is used for formal affairs, and a light blue usually denotes militia and army, but otherwise.... the 1990s saw the advent of colourful ones for younger people, a red one being used for celebrations and the like. School uniforms consist of collar tabs in red. Militiamen can be identified by theirs as well, a black collar tab denotes a public security officer.

Our citizens are encouraged to visit overseas, and a yearly stipend is given to especially pensioners and young people to do so... incidents like 30 students armed with clubs and knives storming a brothel to "liberate" the workers however have m,ade it neccessary to have travellers only go in groups and be assigned a guide/minder to stop them from adopting random homeless and the like. Generally they're seen as a nuisance by most other countries. Travelling overseas is a once-in-a-lifetime event for most, and so the trips tend to run like week-long parties: waving red flags, live music, drinking, public display of affection... we're actually banned from Japan.

This extends to education as well: anything told to a child has a reason after all, and the little ones are taught to ask for and listen to that reason. They are expected and taught to ask "Why?" when ordered to do anything, whatever it may be. This as well has led to funny incidenty involving tourists...and not so funny ones. We had a bigger incident of a group of citizens beating a tourist couple several times after one of them had struck a child for asking questions. The militia, called by the tourists, then proceeded to arrest and faciliate deportation of said tourists: "an stay out, bloody capitalist child-beater!"

The highly-experienced and battle-hardened Zhouranese People's Army is renowned for its rigorously-methodical military training and meticulously-complex military education. Conducting various military expeditionary operations abroad and overseas military-operations-other-than-war (MOOTW) every year, the ZPA's numerous assortment of powerful highly-advanced weapons and cutting-edge technology along with its highly-significant capabilities in both defense and power projection due to a large military budget as well as constant overseas deployment of troops has resulted in a large well-armed battle-experienced military force fully-capable of widespread deployment of force and firepower around the world. While having a large number of battle-experienced personnel and highly-sophisticated weaponry is important for military power, another important element to the ZPA's military power would be military training and education.

Enlistees must undergo six months of highly-demanding basic-training followed by nine months of highly-stringent specialist-training. A notable peculiarity of Zhouranese enlistee training is rooted in Zhouran's highly-impassioned warrior culture and fervid martial-ethos that prefers initiative over obedience. As a result, Zhouran's rigorously-methodical military training for enlistees is strongly influenced by the nation's passionate and intense warrior culture, which was created in 7 BC during the birth of the Silin Dynasty, and is unique compared to other countries' basic training, thus allowing for the efficient maximization of each individual soldier's skills and talents. Rather than "breaking" the personality of new recruits through intimidation and aggression, the Zhouranese seek to "mold" a recruit's personality into that of the ideal "Tongyehanke warrior" in the hope of producing highly-proficient, skilful and adept soldiers with stronger personalities and more individual initiative, thus turning each enlistee into a highly-skilled highly-efficient warfighter capable of executing any mission with very-high proficiency.

Recruits are closely and carefully trained by a drill instructor. Unlike other drill instructors from foreign militaries, a Zhouranese drill instructor is a junior officer who is assigned to the duty of indoctrinating new recruits entering the military into the customs and practices of life in the barracks. Drill instructors are held responsible for the welfare, behavior, and military education of the recruits assigned to them on a 24-hour basis throughout the period of initial training. Responsibilities include areas such as military discipline, physical fitness, and weapons training. A junior officer can only be a drill instructor after successfully completing a training course at a military academy.

With Zhouran's meticulously-complex military education, becoming a commissioned officer is an even more-formidable commitment. In order for Zhouranese officer cadets to become commissioned officers, they must undergo five years of intense study through highly-rigorous highly-competitive technical-oriented military education in Zhouran's various military academies. During their time at a military academy, officer cadets go through rigorously-methodical learning on the areas of military organization, military theories, military history, tactics, strategy and grand strategy, operational level of war, logistics, armaments and other areas relating to war. Through the meticulously-complex Zhouranese military academy education system, which was created in late 1862, officer cadets who graduate and become commissioned officers receive education comparable to that of a Specialist degree (above Master's but below Doctorate) in the Zhouranese academic degree system (which dates back to the establishment of the Zhouranese higher-education system in early 1861). Once a Zhouranese officer cadet becomes a commissioned officer, they are quickly assigned to their first tour of duty in order to build up on their experience in the field.

Given the nature of Zhouran's highly-rigorous highly-competitive technical-oriented national education that is globally unrivalled, Zhouranese commissioned officers are commonly referred to as "Walking Calculators" and "Biological Computers".

The parliament once received a proposal for a method on examining drivers on their driving exam:

"The driver's instructor car would have its 2nd-row seats replaced with an aquarium, inside the aquarium is a pufferfish, if the fish were to inflate, the driver would fail their exam."

I'm sure you know what this was referring to and unsurprisingly it was not passed.

The total average height of all compared citizens of Destyntine is 174cm or 5'7ft. Compared to the rest of the world, this is considered quite small, even acknowledging the citizens have an extremely healthy dietary plan. The most likely reasoning behind this is that women (trans included) outnumber men with a ratio of 3:2, giving the national height average a huge dip compared to the rest of the world.
