Inspiration?

What country is your nation inspired by? Or at least has many things in common?
Khelshar has much in common with Ireland. It is an island nation, its history having many and long civil wars, alot of nationalists, few ethnicities, and has a unique culture in many ways.
So how is your nation inspired by what country?

Brunei, but on a much bigger scale. We are very,very wealthy and have many natural resources, but have a much better military. We also have better government programs.

We are influenced by the Kingdom of Goryeo (Goryeo Dynasty Korea), Kingdom of Joseon (Joseon Dynasty Korea), and the Greater Korean Empire.

Mine was inspired by the Goa'uld Empire from Stargate. Especially Ba'al's unfulfilled dream of become Supreme System Lord of it all.

Saurisia takes some cues from the United States, Prussia, Nazi Germany, and modern-day Germany.

Originally, it was inspired by an idea of mine, knowing that cats make enough distinct sounds to theoretically have their own spoken language. Then came Neil Gaiman's Sandman - specifically, Dream Country: Dream of a Thousand Cats (that's right, not even the name is original). After developing on NationStates, I've slowly integrated my ideas of what a society run by cats would be like, along with my infatuation with hunter-gatherer cultures.

The idea of flying cities is mostly my own. Military uniforms are taken from the EU faction of Battlefield 2142. The Morita series of rifles is shamelessly stolen from Starship Troopers. Air vehicles are from the Homeworld series of games. And ponies are from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

Culture is very much Californian, but with a vintage (1900-1950) American twist, being relatively disinterested in foreign politics and being very family-oriented with relatively nuclear families and having working male heads of households and stay-at-home moms.

Ganosia was inspired by Imperial Germany, The Enclave of the Fallout series of games, and the ideas of Thomas Hobbes and Joseph de Maistre.

Our queen was generally inspired by Quinn Morgendorffer with a pinch of Peggy Hill, while Chancellor Princess Allison Amber's like Daria Morgendorffer crossed with Evita Peron.

Our version of the Enclave revolves around fanatical devotion to monarchism, tradition, and oligarchy. Instead of hating (supposed) mutants, we hate cultists and other undesirable and uncivilized barbarians. We still use power armor and vertibirds, regardless.

Telsiai was (in it's current form) inspired by Lithuania, Cyprus, Germany and a few other countries. Telsiai is actually a large town in Lithuania.
