There is quite a number of violent sports in Ruskarkand.
They all launched when the local populace were all converted to the Dragoon Species.
The one we will look at, is Charge.

Charge - Two teams of Dragoons are lined up, 10 in each team.

Both teams charge at eachother in a coordinated way, you charge primarily the person in front of you, if you are stronger and faster than them, then you will ram them down and carry onto the next round.
The next round has the people who were charged over eliminated, the teams organise and charge again, repeating until only 1 team stands.

The rules of this game are simple, stay in a line and do as the coordinator says.
The rules allow teams to win in one charge.

It is a violent game, as the Dragoons are massive creatures that are matched by their strength and speed, not to mention their resilience, but it is often that blood is drawn and natural armoured scale on arms and legs are broken.
It is fun to watch, fun to participate, and often a good game for bets.

DASHES wrote:Paintball or Airsoft matches are as violent as it gets for us.
However, one person shooting at another living thing is a standard for sports in DASHES.

Our violent sports are either played digitally (In the form of huge media-covered gaming tournaments), or I real life, with shooting (Paintball or Airsoft) sports played in modes Free-for all, team death match, wing-man, capture the flag, seek and destroy, fortress defense, and a few more popular ones.

We also have fencing, but that is not nearly as popular.

The violence is simulated. Extremely few 'real' fatalities, just special effects to make it seem that way, and The People are happy with this, as it satisfies their moral concerns.

Combat sports are legal in Paradasea, while bloodsports are not. Participants in combat sports must be of adult age. MMA and boxing enjoys a fair, though not widespread, amount of popularity in the town-state.

They all are legal, and under no such regulation, the industry will take care of that.
FYI: I am not trying to be the Erusea in Ace Combat 4. The Erusean Republic is a mixture of most nations in the Ace combat world. SO don't say Lrn2Acecombat.

We have Fighting, which is just 2 men fighting until one is incapacitated. This is like boxing in our nation. We also have small colliseums where selected prisoners can choose to fight to the death with swords. The Victor wins freedom, and the loser dies. This sport is not televised, though.

On our colony of Arceasis, we hunt frostipedes. They're as long as five school buses (early adult stage) and are armour plated. We use military weapons to kill them. The mandibles are like antlers on a deer, the bigger the better.

The Aim ... Survival, going into the Red area of the Quarantine Zone, with a knife; basic items are scattered throughout the 3000 arce Red Area. You last 2 weeks running and fighting for your life, then you make it into the elite Colonial Special Forces :)

So far to date the Colonial Forces (Guard, Navy, Air Force) have lost 1,000 personnel, 70 Civil helicopters, 25 Gunships; trying to find lost tourists or gangs of violent teens/criminals.
Over 100,000+ people are presumed KIA.

The Quarantine Zone size is 10000 acres and is home to the many species which were created by the ancient race of beings known as the Shee.

Anyone who enters'leaves require a ID with photo. The Green Area is the safest for tourists, young couples, anyone who adores cute animals, the Quarantine Security and Rangers Authority (QSRA) personnel carry the standard sidearm Colt M1911 pistol (just incase). The Amber Zone is slightly more hazardous, with tourists require an armed escort.

The Red Area is the most extreme, with heavily armerd QSRA backed by elements of the Colonia Forces occasionally patrol this area, so we throw anyone who is stupid or game enought to survive for two weeks... most change their mind after 1 hour.

If your too afraid then there's soccer, gardening, feeding the national animal and doing everyday things like reading a propagada filled newspaper, or washing the car.

Various forms of full contact martial arts competition are highly popular in Faolinn. Pencak Silat which was first brought by Sufi Muslims to Faolinn is particularly popular. Local martial arts also draw large crowds and competition can get quite bloody. Muay Boran (the much more violent brother of Muay Thai) also draws large crowds. The regulations go as far as to allow the combatants to fight with hemp ropes tied around their hands rather than gloves which results in cuts in the skin during fights. The only rules are that you can't intentionally deal a lethal blow, castrate, or break bones. Generally such combat sports rely on the honor of individuals to prevent such problems. Ironically Tai Chi Chuan which is a very peaceful martial art and exercise form is quite popular(Yes it can actually be used to fight). Kajukenbo, a martial art known for a lack of rules has quite the following as well and is the official martial art of the Faolinn Swat and police force. Traditional stick, dirk, and sword fighting competitions draw many spectators and yet surprisingly few actually ever end up dead.

There's a traditional sport in Kulverint, banned since 1814, called "Prüpiniana" which is where each player is armed with merely a stick (usually a steel-capped hockey stick) and the object is to kill the opponent. It was usually a knockout tournament, and is still practised by prisoners when told to by guards when they are getting overcrowded. Although this is forbidden cases are often overlooked by the government, as they are a cheap solution to prison overcrowding.

High-velocity racing and gladiatorial combats are very legal in the Federation. The former being corporate-run events, the races are left unregulated. As such, the insane user danger of manned vehicles and the collateral damage caused by the all-too-common crashes of the unmanned ones bring crowds of thousands and extranet viewerships in the hundreds of thousands per race.

Gladiatorial combats are government-run. Regulated such that death-row inmates always die at the behest of the public and so that only those fighters who have grown unpopular are actually killed in the holodeck-arenas, the popularity of these events are all-consuming and draw fighters and viewers from many nations outside of Xenohuman space.
