Upon being elected into the Federal Council, a person must step down as the leader of their party and leave the party as a whole. This was done in order to prevent party loyalties getting in the way of policy and executive decisions.

In Knessniet, the sale of certain substances is extremely deregulated, as it is expected that the average citizen wouldn't know what to do with them. Thus, you can buy Hydrochloric Acid, Nitroglycerin, U²³⁸ (Weapons-grade Uranium), U²³⁵(Nuclear Reactor Fuel), gunpowder, and other dangerous substances and radioisotopes without hassle. Though, you can expect to end up on a government watchlist if you buy the wrong things together.

Marcianus has some of the most secure houses in the world(s). Most houses since 2762 are built with state-of-the-art security systems, fallout shelters, and are usually built with hardened Martian soil, which is extremely strong, etc.

Here on the ~lovely~ island of the P.T., almost nobody owns a pet dog. The most common pets are tarantulas, iguanas and constricting snakes, with rats and fish being relatively uncommon and most other forms of pet being unheard of.

In Cesken, an iron cross decoration is worth more than some diplomas and garners you great respect in our society. For example: 2 people apply for a job that requires an engineering degree. Both person 1 and 2 are nearly identical in their abilities and their previous accomplishments and both have an engineering degree, except that person 2 had performed military service and had earned an iron cross in battle. Person 2 gets the job 9 times out of 10.

Honestly, it's the same in Asardia. Most people attend academies literally just to become a mage, so having more honors in the military would award you with jobs

She just somehow duplicated the coins that were circulating around and also becoming the first person to screw up the Fate of cryptocurrency. It was screwed so much so that it accelerated the death of the old-world Internet, because no one wants to be the next victim of whatever Jenny is doing (e.g. a government's website could have been the victim of hacking, or worse, Jenny somehow getting access to the LANs the militaries operate on).

It seems these people are rather whimsical; we would never let something as important as a region’s sovereignty hang on the result of a game (or anything other than the result of a diplomatic discussion, actually).

Snofjogur is run by a parliament divided into sectors that deal with the various aspects of the nation (education, welfare, environment, etc). A person must hold at least a master’s (or equivalent) degree in an area in order to be able to run for (or vote for) member of a sector that deals with things related to that area (e.g. ecology for the environment sector), which ensures the parliament’s decisions are well-informed. Members of a sector discuss issues and then vote democratically to determine the nation’s policy on said issues. On paper, the nation’s leader is the moderator; however, their only role (apart from making an appearance when a situation calls for nations’ leaders to do so, such as during diplomatic visits to other nations) is to provide a single vote whenever a sector’s vote on something results in a tie. This form of government has been variously called *meritocratic democracy* and *informed democracy*.

Sounds like an upgrade of the Democracy that almost killed us off, but alas, extinction is always the end result of a Democratic species.

This is comparable to the 21st century: Due to European (including the Americas) dominance of the 15th - 21st century, people are more knowledgeable of European culture, values, and such. In the 24th century, however, the dominant values hail from the Far East. Ask a 21st century human who Myeongnim Dapbu or Saito Takamori is and you'll have a blank, but ask who Napoleon or Stalin is, and they'll know. This isn't the case in the 24th century.

A 21st century person today would shout "Cultural appropriation" when they see a Terran with blonde hair and green eyes accepting green tea with both hands, bowing as a form of respect, and wearing a Qipao to showcase Terran culture to alien visitors.
