Upon being elected into the Federal Council, a person must step down as the leader of their party and leave the party as a whole. This was done in order to prevent party loyalties getting in the way of policy and executive decisions.

That's also a pretty good idea, though I have to wonder how long you have to wait until you join the next party and to be re-elected?

Another one about Gwen! So... she might be a little bit more insane than we thought. Heck, maybe even more insane than General Valentijn, the man himself who got blown by nukes. We think it's because she was broken by many, many dimensional travels and their weirdness.

Hm hm, and they say that a person with the "Fate" in it, with the power of space and time, is dangerous. An insane one is much more dangerous, haha! But I have to say, I'm not drunk by power, no no no! You see all the weird crap in other worlds and you *would* break. I went into that dimension where Event Horizon is real! Goodness! >< So stop acting so surprised that I am crazy just because you want me to, Narrator! I got my eye, both eyes, on you! And it goes to those reading this too!

(Skipping the AN since they didn't give a fact.)

That makes sense, as I am sure not everything is sunshine and happiness in other dimensions.

In Knessniet, the sale of certain substances is extremely deregulated, as it is expected that the average citizen wouldn't know what to do with them. Thus, you can buy Hydrochloric Acid, Nitroglycerin, U238 (Weapons-grade Uranium), U235(Nuclear Reactor Fuel), gunpowder, and other dangerous substances and radioisotopes without hassle. Though, you can expect to end up on a government watchlist if you buy the wrong things together.

Well, at least you're doing something about that.

Marcianus has some of the most secure houses in the world(s). Most houses since 2762 are built with state-of-the-art security systems, fallout shelters, and are usually built with hardened Martian soil, which is extremely strong, etc.

I gotta get me one of those houses at some point. (Stupid hypervigilance.)

Here on the ~lovely~ island of the P.T., almost nobody owns a pet dog. The most common pets are tarantulas, iguanas and constricting snakes, with rats and fish being relatively uncommon and most other forms of pet being unheard of.

Thats very interesting, except for the tarantulas. I can't stand spiders.

In Cesken, an iron cross decoration is worth more than some diplomas and garners you great respect in our society. For example: 2 people apply for a job that requires an engineering degree. Both person 1 and 2 are nearly identical in their abilities and their previous accomplishments and both have an engineering degree, except that person 2 had performed military service and had earned an iron cross in battle. Person 2 gets the job 9 times out of 10.

Honestly, it's the same in Asardia. Most people attend academies literally just to become a mage, so having more honors in the military would award you with jobs

Asardia was founded when the three strongest archmages of all time fought against each other, but realized they could just curbstomp the rest of the tribes. After a brief civil war between the three, they allied together and quickly united the empire

That seems real bad, unchecked power in just three people. Probably would've been better if they all killed each-other off unless a lack of unification would've resulted in more suffering.

Blue pants/trousers with white suspenders are seen as "traditional" clothing, even if they're far more recent than Ainu-like tribal garb. Their origin comes from a late-19th Century mass sale of surplus US Cavalry uniforms; but our men and women found the pants to be comfortable and practical for a life on the run from the Japanese.

Well, I guess now you're Russian-Japanese-American nekos? And did you kill Indians like the cavalrymen you got them from too? Jokes aside, that seems like a pretty dark, albeit interesting, backstory for an otherwise innocent article of clothing.

One of the monikers of the Palace of Redsburgh, the primary residence of Achsony's royal family, is the "palace built in a day".

The Palace was built 57 years ago in 1761, and as the nickname entails, within a single day, just in time for the founding ceremony of the Kingdom of Achsony. The Palace, along with every article of furniture inside, but excluding the Palace Garden, was constructed using the gargantuan Automatic Fabricator in the world of Asgard, the homeworld of the Goddess Freyja, a companion of James, later transported through summoning spell to a plot of relatively flat grassland in Redsburgh (today Central Ward, Jamesburg), an insignificant coastal fishing town. It was to be the site of the historic founding of Achsony in 11 October 1761.

According to King James, he based the design on the Palace of Versailles, the Palace of Buckingham, and the Tokyo Imperial Palace, all iconic royal residences from his homeworld, Earth.

A rather interesting though not out of character choice.
In our world, Sufism and mysticism comprises mainstream Islamic thought. Arabia is oftentimes called a global centre of learning, and the House of Wisdom in Hejaz is known as one of the most prestigious and ancient universities in the world.

I see you literally have no idea how the different ethnic fractions of Islam work. Even if Sufism was to become the orthodoxy of Islam, Arabia wouldn't become its capital. It would shift westwards to Qom or even Neishapur in Iran. (And if Iran had remained Zoroastrian, Islam would never become Sufist in the first place. Like, it'd be impossible)

Officially called "Oversees Dominions", the Oversees territories of the Empire, despite being vaster and much more populated than its core (less than 6 percent of area, less than 20 percent of the area), are lower member-states of the actual Empire. This does not mean their residents are discriminated against or not equally represented, but there is always an atmosphere of "Belonging" to the Empire, rather than "being part of it".
A large minority in the Reiksdiät tries to change this both on a legal and constitutional level.

Reminds me of British crown colonies for some reason

North Korea has a 2.7 billion Swedish kroner debt to Sweden

Apparently, it was agreed that North Korea was to buy around 1000 Volvo Cars back in 1974.

The Problem is that the money that Kim II-Sung promised to pay has not been paid yet.

So, more than 40 years later, the Swedish government is still sending invoices to North Korea to get back their 2.7 billion SEK.

Now that's tradition! And I guess why change something that isn't broke, right?

Once upon a time during the pre-Valentian Era, while fooling around on Deep Web and going through a few other sites, Intelligence Officer Jenny accidentally increased the cryptocurrency's inflation rate by 4,000,000,000,000,000,000,000%. She just somehow duplicated the coins that were circulating around and also becoming the first person to screw up the Fate of cryptocurrency. It was screwed so much so that it accelerated the death of the old-world Internet, because no one wants to be the next victim of whatever Jenny is doing (e.g. a government's website could have been the victim of hacking, or worse, Jenny somehow getting access to the LANs the militaries operate on).

Hahaha... oops! My bad.

Queen Alexandra was Ceyesca's longest reigning monarch, reigning from 1834 to 1898 for 64 years. She married King George of Hanover in 1845, when she was 31 and he was 26. Their marriage resulted in the Personal Union of Ceyesca and Hanover from 1851 to 1866.

If you were to be in the city of Marcianus Capitis, you would be surprised to know the population is over a billion people, especially since, if you look at the downtown area, which was modeled after Des Moines, Iowa, you wouldn't expect it to be so big, considering the Marcianus Capitis skyline is so small. This is a thing that surprises many visitors that come to Marcianus.

Better than suffering from Hong Kong syndrome I suppose.

The Gwadan is as much a military vessel as it is a show of strength. The largest of all warships ever constructed in the Universal Century era, with unsurpassed firepower and Mobile Suit capacity it also has a throne room dedicated to Princess Mineva Zabi that's large enough for two Mobile Suits to stand guard (presently 2 Gaza-Cs though they are slated to be replaced by higher performance Zaku Speeds).

Most impressive, and if you fail and somebody defeats your princess she already has a monumental mortuary site worthy of royalty. A Mobile necropolis, truly wonderful, we salute you! Now all we need to do is make the Kheops-II pyramid fly.

Pharaoh Mau won independence from the Grand Celestial Domain by making a bet with their empress...and defeating her in a game of Mini-Golf. According to Mau, it was a close victory but one she ultimately was more skilled in. The Celestials, on the other hand, record that Empress Yue let Mau win.

It seems these people are rather whimsical; we would never let something as important as a region’s sovereignty hang on the result of a game (or anything other than the result of a diplomatic discussion, actually).

Snofjogur is run by a parliament divided into sectors that deal with the various aspects of the nation (education, welfare, environment, etc). A person must hold at least a master’s (or equivalent) degree in an area in order to be able to run for (or vote for) member of a sector that deals with things related to that area (e.g. ecology for the environment sector), which ensures the parliament’s decisions are well-informed. Members of a sector discuss issues and then vote democratically to determine the nation’s policy on said issues. On paper, the nation’s leader is the moderator; however, their only role (apart from making an appearance when a situation calls for nations’ leaders to do so, such as during diplomatic visits to other nations) is to provide a single vote whenever a sector’s vote on something results in a tie. This form of government has been variously called *meritocratic democracy* and *informed democracy*.

Sounds like an upgrade of the Democracy that almost killed us off, but alas, extinction is always the end result of a Democratic species.

The average citizen of the Technocracy know less about Napoleon and Bismarck than they do about Sun Quan and Nguyen Hue. This is because the Technocracy is a Sinosphere centric society; the powers that make up the Technocratic Council against the United Nations in the late 21st century consist of China & Vietnam (Technocratic dictatorships), Korea & Japan (Democracies that elected an Engineer and a Doctor into office in that order), and Malaysia (under Chinese sphere of influence). India and Nigeria are the only major players aligned that isn't under the East Asian cultural influence, and to this day maintained their own separate influence on their regions, just with a strong East Asian influence.

This is comparable to the 21st century: Due to European (including the Americas) dominance of the 15th - 21st century, people are more knowledgeable of European culture, values, and such. In the 24th century, however, the dominant values hail from the Far East. Ask a 21st century human who Myeongnim Dapbu or Saito Takamori is and you'll have a blank, but ask who Napoleon or Stalin is, and they'll know. This isn't the case in the 24th century.

A 21st century person today would shout "Cultural appropriation" when they see a Terran with blonde hair and green eyes accepting green tea with both hands, bowing as a form of respect, and wearing a Qipao to showcase Terran culture to alien visitors.
