Well at least you provided a way that a Tank could logically hit, much less damage, an aircraft carrier in battle. Hitting an airplane that causes explosions on board.

Solarians don't believe in an Afterlife. They believe that once a person dies, three things might happen to them. The first is if they were burnt at the cross, in which case their spirit ceases to exist when they die -resulting in a permanent end. The second is if they were a Saint or Blessed by the Imperial Church, in which case they will join the Suns Eternal; the former as a minor deity (with a domain) and the latter as an immortal resident. Both have a possibility of apotheosis and becoming gods just as Sol Christus did upon his own death. The third are, well, literally everyone else. They get reincarnated as many times as necessary until they finally get it right or get themselves burnt at the Cross by sanction of the Church.

Technically, becoming a deity after death is an afterlife. Just sayin'.

The Servant strategy of using Demographic Shift in order to convert new realms to the True Way has a somewhat amusing side-effect in that it almost always causes Servant women to develop a reputation for being easy. This generally comes with a negative connotation of them being seen as sluts, though outsiders generally learn swiftly that while a Servant might be forward to the point of nymphomania, one should not attempt to coerce them into sex. The Servants prize self-determination as a sacred right, and respond to coercion... drastically.

It is important to note that all Servants are trained in martial arts, anatomy, and a multitude of physical sciences with a focus on how to apply them to martial arts from a young age, and that even the daintiest Servant woman is a dervish of death in hand-to-hand combat. Their typical response to any attempt by an outsider to force themselves upon her is to introduce the offender to the floor as swiftly as possible, then visit a single well-placed stomp on the back of the offender's neck, with JUST enough force to snap their neck yet keep the spinal cord intact.

That is their 'first warning'. The Servants happily pay any medical costs.

If ever a second warning is necessary, the Servants happily pay any funeral costs.

Why is it that Servant women, after demographics shift, become slut-like?

The reason a Jarnethian saor is worth ♔4.21 (US$8.55) is because a §1 coin is 12.449 g of silver. Though normally worth ♔3.53 (US$7.16), the additional cost is to twofold: To cover minting costs, and to disincentivise the melting of saor coins.

BONUS FACTS:
- A §1 coin has a diameter of 23.23 mm and a thickness of 2.8 mm.
- The highest denomination is of the Jarnethian saor is the §50 bill, worth ♔210.59 (US$427.50). It used to be the §100 bill, worth ♔421.18 (US$855), but that was withdrawn due to security purposes.
- The Jarnethian minimum wage is mandated to be §1/hr.

That is one expensive coin, tbh. That should, logically, make your country extremely rich (if you have the mines and ores for it), but are you?

The greatest evidence for what Iran had really been doing in Iraq since the collapse of Saddam's regime in 2003 can be seen at the changing of Iran's capital after the annexation of Mesopotamia in 2020. In 2003, about 2,500 Iranian settlers -mostly Persian Nationalists and Sassanid LARPers- built a settlement somewhat north of Baghdad along the Tigris river, near the ruins of Taq-e-Kasra (and where Ctesiphon is located). While originally met with resistance in the International Community, it soon turned out that this settlement had been built with Iraqi and American permission, and was primarily intended as a military base. The settlement expanded nearly three times its original size, and by 2020, it actually bordered Baqdad's metropolitan area with a population of 60,000. Then, in January 2020, a joint Iranian-American operation assassinated a IRGC leader (Ghasem Soleimani). His assassination was seen as a violation of Iraq's sovereignty, and was protested by the President of Iraq who demanded the evacuation of the settlement, in addition to the 2 Iranian military bases inside the Iraqi Border. In response, the US, Iran, Germany, the UK, and France invaded Iraq again, and after a short conflict (3 weeks), took Baghdad, resulting in the Conference of Baghdad which promptly partitioned the country into Mesopotamia, Kurdistan, and Mawara uf-Furat (Oultre Euphrates). Iran annexed Mesopotamia in February 2020, promptly beginning the expulsion of roughly 8 million Arabs (67% of pre-partition Iraq's population) towards Mawara uf-Furat, and establishing Ctesiphon as the new Iranian capital (by annexing Baghdad into the aforementioned settlement).

To think in another universe, the assassination of Soleimani went in heavy favour of, and was probably even planned by, Iran.

Ten months ago, during the 25th anniversary of Edmund V's reign, 1 talent (33 kg) gold statuettes of the Emperor were made. These "talent statuettes", officially called 25 Edmund V gold talents, became very valuable bullion currency. Though a talent of gold would, at the time, be worth ♔680,566.97 (US$1,381,550.94), they were worth ♔795,000 (US$1,613,850), in order to account for 3-D printing fees.

The coins aren't mine, they're Jarneth's, a nation under my protection. Also, Jarneth is known for its silver mines.

The government produces the “encyclopedé niomé”, a state encyclopedia rival to others. It is freely distributed to all citizens upon request. There's also an online version that serves the same function as Wikipedia. And, this encyclopedia is written by top academic experts in each field who are payed to write and update it.

Oh? You have a state sponsor to write an equivalent to the IRL Encyclopedia Britannica is actually a good move if you want to ensure the continuing pool of knowledge of your society. A query one might have is how to prevent that from being corrupted and abused. The Tundran government made a decision to not legalize the marriage of gay people purely on the premise on demographic manipulation and the desire to have as little paperwork as possible. This is also why the nation legalized local smugglers to steal other nations goods, reformed taxation to a simple cheque of 10% for all, zero license requirements for virtually...anything, on-site executions for criminals, compulsory looting rights for soldiers, a reduced legal body overall, and a window pane in every building for paper plane competitions.

Well, that’s certainly quite an event that I can’t see any state in our world doing. I’m admittedly not against this, however, especially if it contributes to a new Persian Empire. Is that settlement mostly or somewhat significantly Zoroastrian by the way?
One major focus of the government in London is the reacquisition of companies, trademarks and products that originated in the British Isles. Companies such as Rolls Royce, Lea & Perrins, Tetley, Mini and a multitude of other brands and properties are foreign-owned - something the government is very against. This focus is unofficial, with government forces engaging in corporate espionage and outright unethical practices in addition to buyouts to put these companies back into the hands of Britons. This economic nationalism extends to infrastructure such as airports and railways. As a consequence of its nationalist economic policies xenophobia has risen throughout Britannia, with foreign corporate buyers and corporate giants often seen by the common people as untrustworthy, scheming, agents of subversion and sometimes - though rarely - outright evil.

A sufficiently skilled archivist can function as a terrifying interrogator, capable of reading the electrical signature of another person’s brainwaves and identifying when one is accessing their memory or creativity centers. Such interrogations do not consist of any questions, instead functioning as a form of cold reading that can make it seem like they can read minds, which technically they are.

Balmothere, the Prime Archivist serving under Achaedus, is known on several occasions to have ferreted out access codes and protocols necessary to control enemy superweapons. With his skills at voice modulation and body control, he has accomplished the feat of taking entire governments hostage with their own weapons.

He takes some pride in this.

Apiary One does not have any WMD's; not having something means it can't be used against you. But if we did, we'd use a combination of physical key, fingerprints, iris scan, and passcode.

---

The motto of Apiary One is "Work like a bee; nest like a bee; sting like a bee." Below is an explanation for each part.

A. "Work like a bee"
Bees are nature's best example of a productive and efficient society. Each member belongs to a caste (e.g. worker, breeder, soldier, ruler), each with a different role in ensuring the colony's survival.

B. "Nest like a bee"
This is a reference both to bees' nest-building prowess, as well as their system of raising their young.

C. "Sting like a bee"
If an enemy threatens the safety of the hive, each worker bee will not hesitate to use its stinger in defense of the colony, even if it means death for the individual. Similarly, dying for one's nation is the duty of every Apian citizen.

Guards of the throne room at the Imperial Palace wear hooded cloaks and cuirasses, and carry halberds. Other palace guards wear their palatine uniform and carry standard-issue firearms.

Guards of the Chambers of the Imperial Senate and Imperial Parliament also carry halberds, though they wear morion helmets, as opposed to hooded cloaks. Other parliament guards wear their palatine uniform and carry standard-issue firearms.

It's always interesting to see how people try putting traditions into their nations; it can certainly be difficult to write up logical and meaningful ones, such as your guards' dress.
And this is just banter, but when I read the description you give, it just gives me the image of the Swiss guard with the frilly collars and pantaloons.

The FRCP is a newcomer on the world stage, coming out of years of isolation and internal conflict. Despite the modesty that might bring to any other country, Cossack foreign policy has been anything but polite, drawing the unfortunate attention of other countries until what seemed to be our first foreign conflict arrived: the prospect of war with a technologically superior island nation across a strait from our soil.

But, through a mixture of posturing and subterfuge conflict was avoided. In particular, the actions of two Cossack agents allowed an uplink to be established in the unpleasant neighbor and led to the falsification of an election in our favor, allowing us to select a peace-loving candidate in their election.

Any information about the operation was heavily classified, and the two agents, who should return as heroes, were forgotten.

This is both very diplomatic but also very rogue/realpolitik of your nation. Though to be fair, I'm leaning on blaming Cossack for the conflict and what they did should give them much infamy on the world stage.

Borgovia used to have a "Borgovia 2000" initiative that started in 1968 in an attempt to completely wipe out Manufacturing, Agriculture, and Unskilled labour from the economy, or, realistically, make them collectively less than 5% of GDP in exchange for Creative (Entertainment/Art), Analytical (Engineering, Medicine, Finance), or Skilled Manual (Electricians, Plumbers, Mechanics) work force. It's an ambitious programme that shaped modern (2040s) Borgovian society and is a large blame for the high suicide rates, stress levels, and Quarter-Age Burnout when those 25 - 35 are just tired and mentally unstable/anxious.

Borgovia's rationale was that in order to be a powerful economy, you must have a population that not only are above the global average, but have set the curve so high it'll force a global "evolution" where the less intelligent and/or narrow-minded thinkers die out for the interdisciplinary, versatile survivors. Education reform was set to where you must have a college freshman knowledge of all subjects, and be analytical enough to write an essay combining STEM and Social Science topics into a coherent thesis. That, and also be able to at least produce music, art, performances, or literature. It's so even the poorest citizen can be a Manager/Employee that learns quick and thus, more innovative/entrepreneurial which is a boon to being a major economic power. It also means even the dumbest citizen who failed to pass the High School exit exam are at least more intelligent than the average grunt, and it also means top performing people who are recruited into the infamous SIF, Borgovia's CIA/Unit 8200, are master Social Engineers, Hackers, Accountants, etc with enough diverse knowledge base to make them nearly a one-person agent.

While it didn't met its goals by 2000, Borgovia at least is the 2nd best performing country in the world in international exams on Literature, Mathematics, and Science. Its ranked 3rd in most innovative, highest rate of Masters-Degree per Capita, 5th highest disposable income per capita, and Borgovian hackers consecutively win most DefCon competitions every year with American InfoSec firms constantly seeking out Borgovians and Israelis with DefCon Black Badges. However, Borgovia also suffers from the highest suicide rate in the Western World and highest rate of Depression & Anxiety due to the brutal academic system. It's not uncommon for a parent to go bankrupt to hire the best tutors money can buy, and some private tutors are wealthier than Multi-National bankers.

That seems excessive even by our standards and we require everyone to learn the basics of every common job in the Armada by the time they're an adult. You also seem to be discarding specialists in trying to make everyone a generalist.

With the Armada's decentralized nature and primary focus on maintaining its ships and providing for its population, practical skills and jobs much more preferred over theory. Every ship is so focused on maintaining itself and providing the Armada with resources that they don't see much reason to invest into a large scientific base. As a result the Armada is usually behind the rest of the galaxy in theoretical knowledge to turn into new technologies. However, on the other claw, the Armada's large pool of practical knowledge and experience makes reserve engineering easy once they get their claws on it. They may not know how or why it works, but they can tell you how to replicate and modify it. This ensures the Armada is only a step or two behind the powers of the galaxy in technology.

I'd really need to ask the intelligence behind forming a decentralized military structure. It is typically unintelligent if you're not a militia or popularly mobilized unit. And those two aren't known for their military capacity in long term.

Between 1025 and 1455, The Levant faced both Rome and Persia in a number of wars. Either side wished to "reclaim" the lost territory and restore their own control on the region, while both sides did all they could to push the other out of the Levant. This resulted in seventeen Persian-Levantine and fifteen Roman-Levantine Wars in the span of 430 years, eventually culminating in the Levantine War of 1432-55, which (among other things) solidified the modern Roman, Persian, and levantine borders in Asia.

I can't imagine the economic damage it does to all three nations due to wars lasting that long. It can't be good for academia or economic growth

Borgovia originally wanted to change its flag after the reforms of 1950s-60s moving from a Corporate State to a Federal Parliamentary Republic. The crest on the flag is the Crest of the revived House of Borgia, in this case, it's "Casa de Borja" which is the Spanish name but "Borgia" for Italian. Raul Castello de Borja founded Montevideo and later became viceroy to all of modern day Borgovia which is where the country is named after using the Italian "Borgia" for "Borgovia" instead of "Borja" due to an Italian majority in a Spanish Crown's possession. Since the reforms mean the Corpus Board and Corporate Authority as a form of government is abolished, it makes sense to get rid of the Family Crest from the flag since it belongs to a wealthy merchant class who founded/ruled Borgovia.

They wanted to replace the eagle crest with a Roman-styled Laurel wreath with one side being Red and the other Gold. In the middle of it would be a Red or Gold Star symbolising the 5 Federations of Borgovia: Ascanio (Uruguay), Novus Gallia (Chile), Mantegna (Southern Argentina), Aragona (Northern Argentina), and Fortuna (Falkland Islands) with Montevideo being a Federal District (so technically 6 Federations?). The government at the time argued the proposed design looked "too communist" and so the country is stuck with its 230 year old flag design.

coulda gone with red stars on gold then... would be more happy looking, at least.

Kal'Shazzar's most recent project was the development of the Ascension Drug, the result of an experiment to produce a 'Chemically-Induced Hivemind'.

The specific properties of the refinement process result in two separate chemicals that each assist the Ascension in their own way. The ascension drug itself produces an individual capable of telepathically communicating on an instinctive level with all other individuals possessing the chemical markers of the ascension drug. This communication is such that all individuals possessing the drug can see through the eyes of their compatriots, and can enact spur-of-the-moment tactics with zero communication lag-time between individuals. The Ascension drug also exponentially enhances a variety of cognitive skills, particularly in terms of multi-tasking and situational awareness.

Each dose of the Ascension drug produces a significant amount of waste runoff. The 'runoff' of this refinement process is known as Ascension Slag, and when administered to various individuals has the immediate effect of completely wiping the subject's mind clean and removing any and all sense of individuality. It has a secondary effect in that it causes all such affected individuals to be telepathically tied to the individual that received the dose of the actual ascension drug from which the Slag was refined. This allows the recipient of the actual Ascension drug to control the Slagged people (known colloquially as 'Slag Zombies') as though they were extensions of their own body. Moreover, the 'Ascendant' could actually transfer their own consciousness to Slagged individuals as easily as one might slip on a new pair of slippers.

This produced an effective 'Distributed Intelligence', in which one Ascendant holds some several thousand Slag Zombies under their thrall.

The Ascension is used as a form of proxy army by the Godulans, capable of reaction times and coordination that make them nigh-unstoppable in urban combat theaters. The Godulans use clones for the Ascension, in order to maximize production rates and minimize training time for the Ascendants.

This has a curious side effect in that the Godulans will go to surprising lengths to get blood samples from other races, as they seek to expand the number of sentient species that can be affected by the Ascension drug.

As an additional aside, one major weapon used by the Ascension is chemical weapons in the form of Ascension Slag gas. Enemy soldiers that are subjected to the gas either have their minds destroyed or are turned into Slag Zombies themselves, to immediately turn on their companions that have not yet succumbed.

"This is a dangerous weapon that, if spread to other nations, would be extremely damaging to worldwide order. We believe the Godulans to be amoral and unethical enough to sell this with wanton disregard, while making their population immune to it"

"Quite the reach, general. It would be much simpler for the Godulans to just prevent stockpiles of the drug from falling into enemy hands. But you are correct about their amorality and unethicality - they would use it wantonly as a cheaply produced and deployed weapon of mass destruction."

In Palmyrion, the punishment for rape is 90% of the rapist's monthly income being sent to the victim as reparation until the retirement of the rapist; if the rapist is retired and getting pension, 90% of the pension will be sent to the victim for the same purpose. For cases with more than one victim, the amount is to be evenly spread among the victims

The rapist is to live incarcerated in a correctional facility and under heavy monitoring; any attempt to escape will be met with death, and the entirety of the rapist's death insurance will be sent to the victim as reparation.

The Palmyrian MRA community sees this as a form of slavery, and have even gone as far as staging "hostage rescues" - but they get shot dead anyways by policemen and gendarmes who know how to repel them.

I find it really funny that your MRAs would go out of their way and risk their lives to rescue convicted rapists from incarceration. Honestly not even sure how far-fetched it really is.

"Thrall feed" is often used as a joking, derisive term for unpleasant food in Khoronzonite parlance, derived from an existing form of food whose purpose is as its name suggests, i.e. providing cheap sustenance for the thrall caste of slave labourers and sacrifice/experimentation fodder, additionally being used to feed other livestock. It consists of a sort of thick porridge made up of the pulped larvae of purpose-bred and genetically engineered flies, which are fed on food waste, bodies of the deceased, and other discarded flesh that has no other purpose and is safe enough for the larvae to consume - the bar for this is rather low, given their high tolerance and the somewhat lax health and safety standards for the end product.
