I really can't fathom how he was considered "liable" for a murder of which he was acquitted.

His liability was based on a wealth of circumstantial evidence, which, in a criminal trial of an ordinary person, would definitely have led to a conviction.
The forensics proved Nicole Brown's killer knelt onto her back and slit her throat so deep it almost decapitated her, and the trail of bloodied footprints leading away through the rear of the property were left by a person waking, not running away, so you can't even defend OJ Simpson's actions, if he did it, with an argument of crime passionnel. The other victim, her companion Ronald Goldman, had clearly arrived to find her killer in flagrante delicto and was killed to silence him.

I believe he killed those two people, but that can't take away from his HoF career. It's a shame to see people discredit his career in the NFL from what he did after his time there. Condolences to his family, condolences to the Goldmans.

What exactly is there to celebrate when it comes to sports careers,, outside of the personalities themselves? A philosopher can be a monster yet make significant contributions to academia that one would have a hard time ignoring. What exactly can a sports star do that is worth ignoring the murder of two people over? Win a lot of matches? Help organise the sport?

I'm not sold on using the "separate the art from the artist" argument here. It seems that there is very little "art" to celebrate.

I was simply implying both that we must continue to advance treatment for prostate cancer to both increase survival rate and prolong the life expectancy of those suffering. Everyone deserves treatment, I just can’t say that OJ should be prioritized because of his former celebrity status
