In the spirit of the OP, I do something very similar with lasagna: due to noodle breakage and other unknowns, it's always a good idea to produce just a bit more of each ingredient than will actually fit in the roasting pan. So once the damn thing is in the oven, you take a noodle, lay it out flat, spread a very thin layer of red sauce on it, then spread a very thin layer of the bechamel (or, if you're a heathen, the ricotta) on that, and roll it up and eat it like a sandwich.

The actually weird thing I enjoy is using sauerkraut as a primary flavor in everything from quesadillas to chicken salad to garlic noodles. That shit's delicious but it's been made abundantly clear to me that it is not for everyone.

(aside: yes, snails and frog legs are f'in delectable as well)

I'm told that as a very small child (young enough i retain no memory of it) I used to eat onions like they were apples. I do still love onions on a lot of things, but I don't think I could bring myself to do that again.

Less a weird food habit and more a weird drink habit; I have at least one glass of milk with every meal. I'm not big on sodas/juices (maybe a glass of OJ in the morning during cold season, other than that I tend to keep my distance), and I'll still enjoy a few nice glasses of cold water throughout the day, but for meals my only go to is milk - whole, preferably. Even with Asian cuisine that doesn't typically incorporate dairy products I still like to have a glass on the side. Miso soup and milk might be a strange choice to pair together but I'll still do it every time lol.

Oh man, I totally forgot about this...the first road trip I took with the German ex, she totally brought at tube of mayonnaise that was like a toothpaste tube. Mustard, too. It was so weird...totally forgot about that.

I eat spaghetti with short noodles, mainly because it's too much of a hassle for me to eat spaghetti with normal spaghetti noodles.

Even though I very much am particularly skinny (I'm 1.92m and weight 65kg)... I eat more than most people do, I'm deffinetly the one that eats the most in my immediate family and yet I'm the skinniest. I just can't go up in weight.

After spending a lot of time in east Africa and China, I feel as if no food I encounter will ever be too weird.

That said, after all is said and done, what I like - more than anything else - is a good pie. My weird habit may be my opinion that on the whole, English cooking is actually pretty good!

So... I love pickles. They've always been one of my favorite foods.

I absolutely cannot stand the taste or even smell of raw cucumber, though.

One of my posts from the last "weird food" thread:
Xmara wrote:Whenever my mom fixes green beans, she always adds a bit to them to improve the flavor. Salt, pepper, butter, and oil (olive or vegetable) are pretty standard, but one thing that she adds that some people I know find strange is a bit of uncooked bacon. The reasoning behind it is that whatever the meat was cured with will leach into the green beans to improve the flavor. They taste amazing.

So good that until I was 9 or 10, I thought everyone cooked their green beans that way. Then we went to a church dinner and I got a plate of green beans that were made by one of the older ladies there. Apparently some people just open the can and dump them in the pot and let them simmer. I don't think she even added salt to them.

Also, this probably isn't too weird, but when I was a little kid, I loved broccoli and Brussel sprouts (and still do). My elementary school classmates thought it was gross. I also think that fried mozzarella sticks taste good dipped in duck sauce.

Sometimes if I'm baking, I'll taste raw flour. It's good.

I actually agree to some extent - I really don't like super rich or sweet things, so a lot of dessert stuff just makes me nauseous. Especially most chocolate cakes. They're just so rich...
