Nah, Colt sells AR-15s to the US Government as the M4A1, formerly the CAR-15.
(Also had the exclusive selling rights to the Government from the get-go of the M16)

The AR-15 family-tree is a funny one.

I think the only people who bought actual armalite production AR-15s with full-auto would be some tribals in Africa, the IRA, and some Belgian law-firm.
The M4, M16, and CAR-15 don't use the "AR-15" trademark. Therefore, they are not AR-15's - just like how a S&W M&P15 or an Armalite AR-18 is not an AR-15.

BTW, the Air Force did purchase Armalite AR-15's from a catalog. It wasn't until the Army got involved that the M16 was standardised.

Over the years I have read some pretty retarded nonsense from judges on the 2nd Amendment and ruling on why a particular infringement is constitutional, so yesterday people were treated with another example of "that is the dumbest shit I've ever heard/read" where U.S district judge robert bryan in Wa denied an injunction against Wa. unconstitutional awb.
Each of the above arms restrictions, including bans and restrictions on carrying, arose from the same historical pattern. The weapon was invented, perhaps for the military, became widely popular with civilians, was associated with criminal use, and was then regulated by the States. As has been the case throughout our Nation’s history, HB 1240’s prohibition on the manufacture, import, and sale of semiautomatic assault weapons responds to the same pattern: technological weapons change that sets forth unprecedented social concerns.

Semiautomatic assault weapons represent a significant technological change – they allow a shooter to fire as fast as they can pull the trigger, unlike previous guns. While semiautomatic weapons like the AR-15 were invented in the 1950s, the growth in ownership of semiautomatic assault weapons proliferated in the late 2000s.

Uh, say what now? 88yr old fudd judge does know that semi-auto firearms have been around for more than a hundred years?

Then to top it all off, completely gets Heller/Bruen text, history and tradition all wrong then cites it is the plaintiffs that got it wrong. Old fucker should get his eyes checked.
Bruen does not require that the historical regulation be the exact same; it is not a “historical straight jacket.”

Analogical reasoning requires that the law’s proponents “identify a well-established and representative historical analogue, not a historical twin.”

Further, as explained by Dr. Spitzer in relation to the Bowie knife regulations, complete bans on the possession of certain weapons (as opposed to laws forbidding the carrying of those weapons) did not occur as much in our early Nation’s history because the federal and state governments did not have the “maturity, powers, tools, or resources” to implement and enforce a complete ban. Instead, the chief remedy enacted by the states was to bar the carrying of knives, “along with the other two categories of weapons that also threatened public safety, clubs and pistols.” Bruen specifically cautioned that in cases of “dramatic technological changes” or “unprecedented societal concerns,” a “more nuanced approach” may be necessary.

Since the judge is a dumb fuck who should be in a home instead of on the bench, is a setback for FPC and trying to kick it up to the 9th circus is only going to be met with the same idiotic bullshit until a precedent can be set in the 9th circus that aw and mag bans are unconstitutional. Sucks for the folks in Wa.
Judge denies injunction against WA "assault weapons" ban for the most ridiculous of reasons

So the defendants have replied to the consolidated cases challenging Ill. new firearm and magazine bans to file their briefs with the 7th circus and well lets just say its full of make believe.
The couple that stuck out the most was from inbred dipshit kim fox from cook county.
Her analogous rebuttal...longstanding regulations on gunpowder enacted in England centuries ago. Say what now? Dumb cunt, that has to do with storage not bans and even so not relevant to the US. The analog is at the time of founding (1791).
Then not to be outdone on stupid, she went full retard... Bruen does not abrogate this court’s(7th circus) decisions in Friedman and Wilson.
Umm, perhaps someone outta school this soros dipshit attorney that Supreme Court > inferior court. So yes Heller and Bruen absolutely abrogates Friedman and Wilson.

It was that show "Timeless" that lasted one season like 5 years ago. Good guys get arrested while trying to stop the bad guy from blowing up the Hindenberg early, while they're in the cell the cop is looking at his semi-auto like he's never seen anything like it...

Gavin Newsom Introduces the 28th Amendment to Limit Gun Rights and Make a More Perfect Union
How do you know that, not so deep down, California Governor Gavin Newsom is hoping that President Silver Alert doesn’t make it to election day and he’s the one who’s called upon to take up the Democrats’ banner in the fight against the Trumpublicans? Today, he announced that he’s proposing a 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution. Because the Second Amendment apparently guarantees Americans too much freedom for them to handle.

“Our ability to make a more perfect union is literally written into the Constitution,” said Governor Gavin Newsom. “So today, I’m proposing the 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution to do just that. The 28th Amendment will enshrine in the Constitution common sense gun safety measures that Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and gun owners overwhelmingly support – while leaving the 2nd Amendment unchanged and respecting America’s gun-owning tradition.”

What would the oleaginous pol’s proposed amendment do exactly? Four things, primarily.

The 28th Amendment will permanently enshrine four broadly supported gun safety principles into the U.S. Constitution:

Raising the federal minimum age to purchase a firearm from 18 to 21;
Mandating universal background checks to prevent truly dangerous people from purchasing a gun that could be used in a crime;
Instituting a reasonable waiting period for all gun purchases; and
Barring civilian purchase of assault weapons that serve no other purpose than to kill as many people as possible in a short amount of time – weapons of war our nation’s founders never foresaw.

Well good luck shitstain...

How does he propose to get 3/4 of the states on board with this?

I kind of like living in South Dakota where I can walk into a store, buy a gun of my choice, and simply walk out of the store and open-carry down Main Street to get back to my truck without anybody batting an eye.

Even if our political system actually functioned properly, I doubt he would get 3/4ths of the states to agree to that.

It's literally a posture amendment. I also do not like this push to increase the age of majority to 21.

Both parties want to increase the age of majority specifically in ways that benefit them.

Republicans want to raise the voting age because young people do not vote for them.

Democrats want to raise the age of majority on guns since they do not like them.

And this crap has to stop. Young adults might be immature compared to the rest of adults, but they are still adults. And part of maturing is the necessary process of making mistakes. For instance, when I was young and immature, I voted Republican a lot. I've grown out of it.

Well I'm not a big fan of age restrictions when it comes to enumerated negative rights and as such it seems the only negative enumerated right that is consistently targeted to be X age is the 2nd Amendment.

Eh... there's significant restrictions on free speech rights for children in a lot of contexts. It's not reduced to zero, but there's a lot more restrictions. Also, the right not to be enslaved is... not particularly well defended either.

Radio Host Mark Walters Sues ChatGPT for False Claims That He Defrauded, Embezzled Money From SAF

The AI bot claimed that there . . .

“is a legal complaint filed by Alan Gottlieb, the founder and executive vice president of the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF), against Mark Walters, who is accused of defrauding and embezzling funds from the SAF. The complaint alleges that Walters, who served as the organization’s treasurer and chief financial officer, misappropriated funds for personal expenses without authorization or reimbursement, manipulated financial records and bank statements to conceal his activities, and failed to provide accurate and timely financial reports and disclosures to the SAF’s leadership. The plaintiff seeks various forms of relief, including the recovery of misappropriated funds, damages for breach of fiduciary duty and fraud, and removal of Walters from his position as a member of the SAF’s board of directors.”

Just one problem. None of it is true.

And, here is a good idea. Let's take the dumbest VP in the history of dipshit VPs and have this cunt lead the administration's gun control messaging.
This should be a good shitshow and actually drive more people to be progun.

Which should surprise no one as ChatGPT is designed to predict the expected response to a prompt, and the factual accuracy of it's output is explicitly disclaimed. As is the bots knowledge of events after 2021.
