In Russian cuisine, it was somehow not customary to mix meat with seafood. But I tried to put pieces of pork together with mussels in a bowl of hot rice - it turned out very tasty. Just as well, pork and mussels are combined on the surface of the pizza.

I do a dish called Mashy Egg Surprise, tis of my own invention..

Make some mash potato, shape it into a donut shape on the plate, drop in canned tuna in the middle and lay a fried egg over the top.

I was really hungry once when I was falling asleep and I had trouble opening the jar of jelly to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich so I instead put maple syrup on two pieces of bread. Tasted pretty good.

That honestly doesn't sound that out of the ordinary. I mean, I hate sardines, but I imagine that the butter is an improvement.

Not my invention, but grilled cheese with sauerkraut and aioli.

When I was a kid I enjoyed potato chips dipped in apple sauce.

Whenever my mom fixes green beans, she always adds a bit to them to improve the flavor. Salt, pepper, butter, and oil (olive or vegetable) are pretty standard, but one thing that she adds that some people I know find strange is a bit of uncooked bacon. The reasoning behind it is that whatever the meat was cured with will leach into the green beans to improve the flavor. They taste amazing.

So good that until I was 9 or 10, I thought everyone cooked their green beans that way. Then we went to a church dinner and I got a plate of green beans that were made by one of the older ladies there. Apparently some people just open the can and dump them in the pot and let them simmer. I don't think she even added salt to them.

Sounds similar to the French way of cooking peas - Petit pois a la francaise - peas cooked with bacon, lettuce and shallots

Not weird for me. But.
Peanut butter with sambal (which is basically the most plain form of satay sauce) on pancakes.

Sauerkraut in tomato sauce for pasta.

Orange pulp in tomato sauce for more fibre/ fruit for my children

French toast made with "speculaas kruiden" which means cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, aniseed, white pepper, coriander, ginger, cardamom and mace.

Bacon goes with Everything!! Beans, Brussels sprouts, chicory (= witlof/ Brussels loof){with blue vein cheese, stir fried}, lettuce, cucumber, chicken breast; they all benefit from having bacon.

I eat "Cheezer" which is imo best with strawberry jam and old "gouda" ( jk, ofcourse one does NOT use "old gouda"
I use "extra belegen {7 months old} kaas", for "jonge (3 months old) kaas" I recommend fig preserve, for "oude (10 months old) kaas" blueberries jam or ginger jam.

I used to make instant noodles with onion and apple pieces.

I like goat cheese mixed with sweet chilli sauce as dip for my corn chips.

Dang, now I'm hungry... must cook

I have done things with Spam that could be considered unspeakable.
It started innocently enough with ramen noodles during my anatomy studies, but unfortunately, it did not end there.

*Dogs howl as a shadowy figure trudges across the snow hazed horizon*
*Their lines snap and the dogs charge in a frenzy*

"Call them back! Dear Lord, get them back."
"Who are you, sir?"
"I am Frankenspam."

Oh, that is good, and just about any stir fry combination.
Gumbos, chilis, soups, stews, mac and cheese; I have used it in just about every kind of comfort food context well beyond the pedestrian grilled Spam and cheese sandwich.
Even had a delightful threesome with Spam and a waffle maker.

I LOVED IT!
