I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season." -MLK Jr.

To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if Mars paid Tucker to complain about them, it's reverse psychology to force the people who would usually be upset about a company enslaving people to reflexively defend them because someone they don't like is attacking it.

Remember eat your M&Ms and support Mars to Trigger the Cons.

Neutraligon wrote:So Oregon is saying that healthcare is a fundamental right (proposed amendment) how do they plan to go about doing this?

That's the rub, here's the amendment in its entirety:

SECTION 47. (1) It is the obligation of the state to ensure that every resident of Oregon has access to cost-effective, clinically appropriate and affordable health care as a fundamental right.

(2) The obligation of the state described in subsection (1) of this section must be balanced against the public interest in funding public schools and other essential public services, and any remedy arising from an action brought against the state to enforce the provisions of this section may not interfere with the balance described in this subsection.[8]

In short, it just says that the state has to create a public health insurance plan of some sort, but it leaves it to the Legislature to fund the damn thing and establish how it would work. So no one's really sure how this will actually pan out if it passes.

Washington has something similar, assuming they're going down that route. I currently have free healthcare through the state in the sense of not paying for it monthly, not really a guarantee everything else I get done will be free (Especially dental because this countries stupid and thinks dental is cosmetic), because at the time I got it I fit the threshold of "Making under this so its free". In April when its renewed I'll probably have to pay a bit monthly because I'll be over that threshold now.

Nothing getting done is what we’re already dealing with. And don’t give me the “but the infrastructure bill” BS, it was gutted of most of the important stuff and doesn’t accomplish much in the grand scheme of things

Alright? I'm not really supportive of democracy anymore anyways aside from local level democracy. We need a strong leader to save the country from things such as climate change and the decline of America that won't need to listen to special interests. And I'm not convinced the Republicans will end democracy either.

The state is unwinnable for Republicans at this point. Any statewide Democratic candidate is very likely to get at least 60 percent of the vote.

I don't hope it does because I know what it means. Lots of pundits say we have to live together because of red/blue towns in counties in these states, but Bosnia and Rwanda have proven that that isn't the case. Division means one thing: Political Cleansing. Millions murdered just because they aren't sufficiently one team or another.
