In fairness, Democrats weren’t exactly innocent of it either before discovering non-partisan redistricting :p

A non-partisan redistricting would result in more competitive seats.

what the fuck what the actual fuck

Texas officials removed two webpages in late August that provided resources for LGBTQ youths — including a link to a suicide prevention hotline — a few hours after criticism from one of Gov. Greg Abbott’s Republican primary challengers.

The candidate, Don Huffines, who owns a real estate development company in the Dallas area, wrote Aug. 31 on Twitter: “It’s offensive to see @GregAbbott_TX use our tax dollars to advocate for transgender ideology. This must end.”

You would have to convince your average American to act within their own interest beyond yelling out slogans.

Good Luck with that.

The US won the cold war in the same way it won the war in Afghanistan and Iraq: With no exit strategy and no vision beyond the immediate conflict, and driven by individuals eagerly taking advantage of the aftermath in order to line their own pockets and secure their own personal power.

But the prospect of complications don't worry me, because the statistics are on my side.

in order to beat Republican geographic bias, the Democrats need to win...around 51%

That is the most confusing graph I’ve ever seen.

It's not good, yes.

The thin dark line is y=x/45 degree.

The numbers are the data points for various elections about which a linear trend with confidence intervals is plotted.

More importantly, I don't think it backs up Kowani's conclusion. It's just saying that a party in power is more popular in polls held 436 days out from a midterm than they are in polls on the election day.

Kowani wrote:
Cannot think of a name wrote:That is the most confusing graph I’ve ever seen.

it is...about 2 months old, so the trendline is a bit off (Dems were getting 48% on the generic ballot at the time, and we're 4% below that)
but to sum up
the dotted orange lines mark the confidence interval
the solid orange line marks the current generic ballot polling average (projected)
the important one's the black line-it's what percentage of the vote was needed to overcome the Republican's structural advantage that corresponding year
so ours is set at about 51%

notably, on the 538 graph, the dems have only gotten that high on a few outlier polls

Are you sure about that Kowani? The black line just seems to be y=x, you can see that it's entered at the intersection of the panels in the graph.

I did find a 538 graph that actually compares the polling average to electoral results and I added a y=x line to it myself:

Image

It doesn't include the years, but you can see that the Democrats do usually poll better (x-axis) than they do in the election (y-axis), thus the x,y points fall below the y=x line. Unfortunately, there's no trend line, but an eyeball trend would be something like:

Image

Eyeballing both graphs together leads me to think that it'll be a R+7 midterm (Kowani's graph => a 46% polling average for the Dems on election day, or a R+4, which on my eyeballed trend is R+7 or something thereabouts).
That it Could be What it Is, Is What it Is

Stop making shit up, though. Links, or it's a God-damn lie and you know it.

The normie life is heteronormie
