Truly sad that's her priorities. Its a near certainty she gets reelected as she remains popular. South Dakota has not elected a Democratic governor since Richard Kneip won reelection in 1974.
The last Democrat to serve was Harvey Wollman who became Governor when Kneip resigned to become Ambassador to Singapore. Wollman was defeated for renomination in 1978 primary.
South Dakota's streak of Republican governors is the longest period of single party control of all fifty states.
Nike is going after the rapper for use of their logo swoosh.
Even then; a governor shouldn’t be getting into a pissing match with a rapper.

I agree with you about Trump, but also disagree in general about "permanent" bans for the same reasons I disagree with life sentence without parole or too long "statue of limitation": people can and do change. I were Facebook I would decide something like a 15 years or 20 years ban is the maximum penalty. It's not like it would matter much for Trump case, it would de facto be a life ban, but it would feel better as a general policy. And sure Facebook itself might not longer exist by then

I was definitely not comparing the severity of the effect - just the idea of punishing people for very long times in general, regardless of the importance of the crime or of the punishment, strikes me as unfair because people can change and improve themselves.

I hope the appeal is successful. If not, there is going to be a lot of families with small children thrown onto the streets.

Nahh. If you are too stupid/arrogant/whatever, you deserve it. Even here we have DOS people. Why? Almost all are not going to change and they only want to cause shit for other people.
Trump is a troll and got banned for being one. The fact he had the title of POTUS doesn’t give you the right to troll.

I always wonder what these idiots think they’re actually advocating for when they say the eviction moratorium should be listed... like do they really want to turn millions of people into the streets at the tail end of a pandemic and recession as we’re heading into summer? Does that really seem like a good way of maintaining national stability...?

It seems they care more about the sacred private property than about lives, public health or national stability... :/
