Yes, they are always someone from the cabinet as a way to ensure that if everything goes tits up then someone in the codified line of succession is still alive and noone has to do any weirdness to figure out who's next.

Its sad this is what Republicans are choosing to focus on.
Friendly reminder that while this is going on, state infrastructure is in danger of another set of rolling blackouts and legislators haven't done enough to strengthen the grid despite having had a full session to do so.

Except that's not the case. Yes, a lot of state level stuff too, but overall the whole political spectrum is still...off. We're still having plenty of threats that are worse than ever. Its still rather abnormal. Its just not Trump levels of abnormal.

Yep, the danger to the country is still here, and I personally haven't become any more optimistic since Biden came in. He's a palliative at best, the gangrenous infection still exists.

I don't see how anyone could be optimistic tbh. Maybe if you're disengaged from everything and thought the only thing wrong was the orange man but the world is still dying in real time and things like wealth inequality are still getting worse.

The previous administration and Republicans pushed for the change in 2019, claiming some Americans were taking advantage of a “loophole” that permits those with incomes higher than the poverty rate to gain entry into the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). But while the pandemic began to hit the nation hard last year, sending unemployment claims to record heights, Trump still wanted to toss the hungry off of the program’s rolls. His efforts, however, were blocked by a U.S. district court ruling. The Department of Agriculture said in a statement on Wednesday, that their decision to end the Trump administration’s proposal came after receiving nearly 158,000 comments expressing concerns the initiative could “potentially jeopardize food security for children, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and the elderly.” “The Department agrees with the issues raised by many commenters and no longer believes that the limitations the proposed rule would have put on categorical eligibility are appropriate,” the USDA said.
Kind of looking forward to the point where he's not just undoing shit the last idiot did.

Why? Most Americans do not approve of CRT. So the republicans are doing what their voters and most of Americans want

Most Americans, including most Republicans, wanted a $15 minimum wage. Of all the things Republicans could have done to please their voters and the American people at large... they chose this.
GOP delenda est.

It’s easier to get people riled up over social issues than economic ones sadly.
