Right. But the widely accepted definition of the label homosexual is not a person who engages in homosexual sex, but a person who is attracted to the same sex. Thus, simply by being attracted to the same sex one lives up the the label of homosexual.

You're being incredibly dismissive of people who don't engage in homosexual sex but identify as gay. Some people fear for their lives. Some people might be physically incapable. Some people can't find someone willing to engage with them.
Not to mention, homosexuality is widely accepted to be attraction, not action. Why should everyone bend over backwards to fit YOUR definition of gay?
And some are self hating "gays" who are going full celibate in the name of some religion that calls them to suppress their sexuality because it's immoral.
