The state allows hunting for conservation purposes, not just because it's fun. Also most hunters do eat what they kill or at least give it to other people to eat, as not doing so is illegal in most places.

I dont care. Its a travesty to shoot a wild animal causing no harm to you and this was not done for food. There is no reason to hunt wolves or any other wild animal. Let them be.

Well is it "harm to me" if the wolves are threatening my livestock? Because I've killed coyotes who've threatened by livestock. Is that a travesty to you too?

Well that has a distinct purpose besides hunting for fun. That's population control, protecting crops, human livelihoods.

Yeah, they had a hell of a time wiping out mad cow disease in the UK, and for years would not let anyone who had been in areas that had had the disease donate blood. In fact, the ban went into effect in the 1980s and was not lifted until October 2019....

In Canada we still have restrictions on people donating blood from the UK, W. Europe, and Saudi Arabia because of that period.

Given it's a disease that is always fatal and causes dementia, depression, etc. as the person succumbs to it and is transmissible in blood/blood products -- yeah, that's a reasonable precaution.

Nope. Even though there is free reign on hunting them it's still ultimately a losing battle because there are so many of them and they breed like rabbits.

I like to pretend I have a sense of morality, even it's made-up and all. I hunt for my meat because I don't want to support animals being tortured in industrial meat factories. I am a pacifist in that sense. Needless killing is needless killing.

I see no reason to hunt wolves in North America since there have been no instances of wolves purposely hunting people.
