There were more empty ballots than there were for either Rezaei, Hemmati or Qazizadeh. It was beautiful to observe ngl.

In other country this would be a sign of a great lack of confidence in the system. The Ayatollah has made it clear in the past, however, that the system's working just fine for him.

I mean what confidence? This election showed one thing, if only that, and it's that the only people who're going to vote are the ones who would vote no matter what (i.e. the 16-17 million who voted for Raisi, who did the same in '17 and some odd 5-6 million more for everyone else). If nothing else, the Reformist marionette that had been erected by Khatami two decades ago and which, until halfway through Rohani's second term, actively obfuscated both the true opposition inside Iran and gave it the illusion of being a legitimate and by all means normalised state -rather than a terrorist organisation unlawfully occupying 1.64 million km2 and everything within it- abroad has finally been thrown in the dustbin of history where it belongs.

Wasn't he accused of them like in 2019? By some HRA organisations and UN Special Rapporteurs?
