Walsh’s nomination for Labor Secretary is now pending before the full senate. The committee voted 18 to 4 in favor.

Sundiata can make it later, I guess. He's the one that made the proposal, so once refined he can explain it.

No surprise, once he couldn't be chairman anymore I didn't expect he'd stay for long.

I won't hold my breath that such a thread will be forthcoming. I was hoping someone else might make it instead. I would volunteer but I'm multitasking at the moment.

No, we don't have those in Illinois. Here, the county parties of the district in question get together and handpick a successor. We've already had two Senate vacancies this year, and that's how they'll get filled.

Arkansas State Sen. Jim Hendren announces he is leaving the Republican Party. '

He said in a statement he is leaving "because it's time for a change." He cited hateful rhetoric, the behavior of former President Trump, a lack of accountability and the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. For months, I watched as members of my own party and our former president tried to overturn the results of a fair and free election, the very hallmark of our democracy; with lies, false statements, conspiracy theories and attempts to subvert the Constitution." Hendren called the insurrection the final straw.

Damn I'm sure that declaration and her promises mean a whole lot to the 12 million people who literally have no water lol. The fact that the military didn't deploy en masse for immediate relief on day one is fucking shameful.

Well it doesn’t help that Texas’s government is blocking literally every relief effort put forward by the feds. Also Texas only activated 300 national guard troops. Several thousands where activated for the protests last summer. The state and government and state GOP literally do not give a fuck about their citizens

Space is probably the one thing we're not lacking on.

There's also a lot of problem with urban living. Iirc urban dwellers are more likely to suffere mental illnesses and have higher stress levels and such things.

Which is why one of my favorite places is the literal desert

why would they be blocking relief effort? What is the point of that? Are they trying to get people not to reelect them or do they think people have short memories?

Public schools in some Liberal cities are allegedly teaching some anti-White crap and propaganda. Ben Shapiro is covering this on his show. I didn't believe it myself initially but it looks like it has at least happened in real life somewhere. This is where it is heading. If it were a more widespread event or trend, this perhaps warrants its own discussion thread about it on here.

Accepting help from the democrat Biden ? After repeatedly shouting you do not need the other states ? After repeatedly mocking other states for needing help ? That looks bad.

Besides, they will simply tell their base no help was offered. Just like they are telling their base it is all the fault of the green deal, regardless of how poorly the coal/gas/nuclear plants are doing now and windmills can perform fine in arctic temperatures if you bother to weatherproof them.

I dont think people are going to forget this. Its beyond inexcusable and their independent power grid is a major factor. This is a key reason in why other states saw nothing close to what is gong in Texas.

Dolly Parton politely requests that the Tennessee legislature abandon consideration of erecting a statue of her on the grounds of the state capitol
I want to thank the Tennessee legislature for their consideration of a bill to erect a statue of me on the Capitol grounds. I am honored and humbled by their intention but I have asked the leaders of the state legislature to remove the bill from any and all consideration.

Given all that is going on in the world, I don't think putting me on a pedestal is appropriate at this time. I hope, though, that somewhere down the road several years from now or perhaps after I'm gone if you still feel I deserve it, then I'm certain I will stand proud in our great State Capitol as a grateful Tennessean.

In the meantime, I'll continue to try to do good work to make this great state proud.

Dolly

Maybe not in small rural counties. But in larger more urban ones it will have an effect.
