Yeah they should just give up and accept a rigged election and five more years of repression. Lukashenko isn’t on very good terms with Putin at the moment. Other European countries should stop sending out statements and help oust him

They lost the election and their only argument for popular support is that polls outside foreign embassies (the sort of voting location where you wouldn't find Lukashenko supporters, see 'a bunch of liberals') said their candidate got 80% and Lukashenko 5%. That is my evidence.

Possibly faked by an electoral official sympathetic to the opposition, if they're an electoral official at all. Not proof.

So not really evidence at all. It's odd though that he felt the need to arrest the main opposition candidate before the polls opened, arrested opposition campaign managers, and arrested journalists at around the same point. It's also odd that observers weren't allowed to monitor the election.

None of that means he didn't win.

It points to a patter of behaviour of something bizarre going on, and makes the results highly suspect.Munkcestrian RepubIic wrote:

Weird that you are remembering it completely wrong. But anyway this discussion isn't about me, even though you have tried to turn it that way for some bizarre reason, so enough eh?
